I'm noticing alot more survivors dying faster during struggle because of missed skill checks toward end of struggle.
-
Console with crossplay off I get plenty of red rank killers because so many killers on console turn off crossplay. New players are less likely to turn off crossplay so there's more low rank with crossplay on.
As someone else mentioned the game will also just toss in a killer if one leaves a lobby just so those in the lobby are not waiting much longer. Same happens with solo survivors if a survivor leaves a lobby.
-
I would love a Tucker and Dale chapter, only problem is all their perks would be ones that accidently get their teammates killed. π
Chad would be a great killer.
-
Corrupt helps slow down game at the beginning, if survivors go to work on gens immediately you know 3 gens they won't be on so are more likely to find a survivor quickly and down them which will get survivors off gens for saves, if corrupt is still active you again will have an idea where survivors will be to find and down - pretty much helps with that beginning of game pressure. Corrupt also ONLY blocks gens and has time limit - rest is up to killer to really benefit from it.
NOED is an endgame perk. While just cleansing totems will counter it many survivors don't like finding/cleansing totems - they'd rather work on gens and leave as quickly as possible. NOED is an unlimited instadown and speed boost as long as the totem is up which can lead to a snowball. Killer really doesn't have to so much to get benefit, just hope survivors don't cleanse all 5 totems and be able to hit a survivor before they make it out the exit. With NOED survivors don't like getting downed with one hit and they get extra upset because it's a death at the end (and one that could be first hook) when they were so close to escaping - feeling similar to killers getting mad at survivors escaping through hatch when so close to 4k.
-
They should do double BP weekends atleast once a month since the grind only gets worse every time a new DLC is released. DBD mobile gets them so often and you only need them for items/add ons not perks. If they won't do BP weekends they should fill the ridiculous amount of empty spaces on free track with BP.
-
Did you try picking up the other survivor while they were slugged? If you didn't make an attempt to pick them up and the bleed out timer was almost out (or even when killer finally picked them up) I wouldn't be surprised if they walked away figuring they were dead anyway. If you weren't even making an attempt they probably got frustrated thinking you were going to wait for them to die so you could get hatch and walked away instead of sitting there getting frustrated bleeding out.
If the bleed out timer was almost up, and you had found the hatch during the nearly 4 minutes they were slugged, you could've gone to an area away from the hatch and waited for the killer to find you (or fast vault to get their attention quicker) which would make them have to stop carrying the survivor to have a chance at catching you. They would've either dropped the survivor which would've finished the bleed out or hooked the survivor - either would've given you a shot to escape through the hatch or open an exit gate if he hooked the survivor near the hatch so he could close it right away.
I'd be good with survivors continuing to bleed out when being carried by killer, especially if not wiggling. Killers need to hook a survivor instead of leaving them on ground for 4 minutes.

What do we get points from?
-
It's a bug. Switch challenge and go back after you complete or switching up survivor you're using should fix it.
-
Try changing character/challenge. I did that for different survivor challenge that wasn't completing. After completing new challenge and heading back to bugged challenge I was able to complete it. Seems like it's a bug that randomly impacts different challenges.
-
Update 2: swf teammate and I both switched challenges and characters - one of those caused challenge to no longer be bugged. So challenge will not go through, need to change character/challenge before it will work.
-
When I worked on the achievement for escaping 8 matches perkless in red ranks I couldn't get survivors to heal me even if killer was running Thanatophobia, only ones that did were also going for the perkless achievement. I would help finish a gen and they'd run away without healing, I'd try following and they'd just hop on new gen. Or I'd be unhooked, follow the rescuer and same thing. When I run self-care I have all the survivors wanting to heal me at once. If a survivor will heal me I'll let them but if I need to heal (Oni, end game save/body block, etc.) and no one is around to heal me it comes in handy. There are those that use self-care poorly but there are ridiculous amounts of teammates that won't heal other players even when facing a killer like the Oni who is constantly feeding off the injured players.

Playing as a different survivor fixes the problem
I'll try that, π€it works.

Update: my swf teammate, also on ps4, has tried this challenge. Was against camping Spirit (no perks/addons to remove terror radius) and he also did not get credit for completing the challenge.
-
I made a bug report because I tried twice. Was unhooking in killers face (thanks swf teammate for volunteering to be possibly farmed), killers weren't running anything to have terror radius go away, and all were safe unhooks - I took hits and had killer go after me instead.

I dunno I saw this image online, and the the 5 looks exactly like the Daughter's weapon. We know based off of last year that the number is a big hint to who the killer will be. I really hope this isn't true though as the Daughter is definitely not an iconic character of Resident Evil yet.
It's kinda close to the font of Resident Evil 3

Just for the record, Lady Dimitrescu is far too tall to be in the game. Plague is not anywhere near her height (dunno why people keep saying that). She's 290 cm tall. Plague is probably my height (about 2 meters). Lady Dimitrescu wouldn't fit in the shack or through most doorways. She'd hit the ceiling in some areas of indoor maps.
I may have missed it if some already said it but I think Plague comparison is because of this tweet.

Maybe Shark Blight didn't win because we'll get a Jaws DLC and water map π
I think that Plague one they'll hopefully be able to do close to the concept. I'm glad they chose a killer that doesn't have many cosmetic options already.

I'd just like an honest response from BHVR, even if we didn't like the actual message. Either give us something to look forward to, or let us quit wasting time on things that aren't going to be fixed. Just be open about it.
Agreed.
The vague brush off responses we get when not being flat out ignored is part of why when I do finally get a ps5 I'm not bothering installing DBD. Why install a 5 year old game that ignored the issues when there wasn't a new generation of console available? History will probably repeat as issues pop up on ps5/Xbox series x.
If they were atleast honest about their plans, or rather lack of plans, for ps4/Xbox one I'd respect that. If they had said they realized they weren't going to be able to optimize ps4/Xbox one like they promised but would make sure ps5/Xbox series x would receive more attention to prevent performance issues getting as bad as they are on last gen I would be happy that they acknowledged the issues and would be more willing to install when I get a ps5.
I get they want to avoid backlash, but they're losing players anyway by not addressing the performance issues.

Once a gate is open and EGC starts... the Killer no longer has to hook you. Actually he doesn't even necessarily need to down you anymore to kill you.
Picture this: You are at end game. You're against a Deathslinger. You've gotten yourself into a jungle gym, but your injured and can't heal and you're pinned down, can't leave without going down. If EGC is not active, your teammates have all the time in the world to heal up, rally with you, and body block you out of the gate. Time is on the Survivor's side so Slinger has to go in and try to tackle the jungle gym and down you quickly in spite of it which means you have a shot to outplay him. If EGC is active, your team doesn't have that time and Deathslinger can just wait another minute, keep you holed up and you're just dead. Time is very much on Deathslinger's side in this situation. The only difference is 99 vs opening the gate.
In general that's why people 99 the gate. Leaving the gate closed at 99% keeps time as your ally. Opening it causes it to switch sides in a huge way.
Oh and if you think that's a weird situation... well you're not wrong, but it is exactly what happened in my one and only 2 kill 1 hook game.
I've gotten quite a few end game kills by getting a survivor stuck on wrong side of loop and EGC takes them out for me. Many last minute saves where EGC was too far along and hooked survivor along with rescuer die in or just before exit gate. I feel bad when rescuer was someone I wasn't able to catch all match and EGC kills them because they hung back to save someone, that's gotta be rough.

Glyphs also make a sound when you're near them. I've found quite a few after hearing them on other side of a wall.

If you favorite a post any comments will go to your email so you don't miss them if post gets deleted.
Do agree that necro posts need to stop. Getting someone responding to a comment I made a year ago before something was changed is obnoxious.
-
You can't use items when in dying state, including keys. That's been a thing for awhile.
-
I think they need to lower the brightness a bit, maybe make it closer to Dead Dawg level so not night but not super bright.
-
Players tend to play females more, Dwight bring exception. I remember someone telling a story about asking for Adam cosmetics and being told he isn't played enough - logic being why make cosmetics that won't be bought/used? They argued back that those players with less cosmetics are played less BECAUSE they don't have as many options.
I'd love for them to chill out on cosmetics for the characters that already have 70+ cosmetics until the other characters catch up. Think would see difference in who is played more often if they all had around the same amount of options.
-
Not a fan of it, also have a feeling what is released isn't going to match the picture and people are going to flip out. Same artist that did that Elodie cosmetic did a Nurse one that looked awesome.
I was hoping this Kate one would win.
Part of me was also pulling for this Jeff cosmetic. I 100% would've started maining Jeff to wear it. π
-
Not a legacy owner, not a fan of exclusive cosmetics in the game. Most aren't even used, they just sit in players inventory and they only make a fuss when others may also get them. There are plenty of players that lost their legacy that can't get them back or console that was never even given the opportunity. Think they should do something like players being able to use devotion levels to unlock legacy items. Players that grinded back in the day should have enough to unlock legacy on their characters again.

I'm reading a bit on the feedback to Coldwind Farm maps right now, can I please ask that if you're having difficulty seeing some things, grab some screenshots/videos for me so that I can take them back to the team - it's the sort of feedback that they need and visual evidence is always great to have!
Thank you!!
I posted this before but this hook had I not been looking in the direction as they were hooked I would not have been able to tell anyone was on it because of how washed out the lighting makes everything. If you zoom in on the picture can make out a silhouette of body but as console player with TV across the room I was not be able to see that. It'd be easy to think there's a HUD glitch and someone was saved if I had missed the hook bubble since I wouldn't have easily seen an aura anywhere rotating my camera while on the gen.

I just worry if they darken the yellow aura, if it will be difficult to see on the darker maps like 'the game' etc. I am honestly not too sure how this could be fixed without affecting how people see the auras on other maps as well. I just wish there was a work around for it.
In that case maybe make lighting similar to that on Dead Dawg. So still light out but cuts the brightness down so auras can be seen.

A trial with 5 survivors and no killer.
I've had that happen few times. π
-
Those are so painful to watch but I know that pain.
I played on Coldwind map last night as killer to see how it was because as survivor it feels super sluggish to me. I just wanted to kick gens for that "kick gen/destroy pallet" challenge so wasn't even trying to hit anyone. It felt terrible as Ghostface, I didn't even use my shroud so not like that was there to make it worse. Next round I played as Freddy on Lery's (survivor offering) for "hook 5 in one match" and it felt better compared to the previous match. It's pretty bad when indoor map feels better than the reworked outdoor map. π¬
-
The brightness on the Coldwind map makes auras difficult to see on both sides. They need to darken the auras or something so they are more visible for both killers and survivors on the new Coldwind maps.
-
I avoid running close to anything on the reworked maps because I feel like there's so many random snags I get caught up on.
-
It's felt more sluggish than normal when playing on reworked maps, like when I'm trying to run feels like I keep hitting snags or there's just the slightest of stutters. FPS drops from triggers causing freezes is unfortunately normal for console but this increased sluggish feeling is new.
-
My swf teammate checked out the rift rewards this morning and first text I got was "is it me or do the BLUE leather trousers look green?" I had no idea what he was talking about until he told me to go look at the new rift. π
-
Spine chill doesn't give the direction of the killer which has given me so many free hits as a stealth killer. I can't count the number of times survivors have walked straight into my stealth killer because they're looking wrong way thanks to spine chill. π

Grrooovvy yeah be interested in seeing more about that game gutted back 4 blood got pushed back till October heavily looking forward to that!!
π·π
Glad you get your boops. My swf teammate and I always try to boop pigs, most times we die trying. Sometimes though we get pigs that appreciate the boop and they're nice, so we give them the kill because they deserve it. Either way we die. π
Back 4 Blood looks good. Bummer it was pushed back but atleast not too far out.
-
I make my swf teammate use Tenacity because he's one to crawl instead of recover and it's obnoxious. I wish more survivors would run Tenacity.

That's also a good way of doing it.
I'd even go as far to say that you shouldn't get ANY points until it's a safe unhook.
@AssassinZodiac said:

I agree with this. There should be a lot higher bloodpoint penalty for unsafe unhooks. Then the farming issues would resolve itself over time with minimal effort. At least in green ranks and above. Yellow ranks will always farm each other no matter what in my opinion, due to inexperience and ignorance of correct plays.
It's something I noticed with farming players, when you look at end screen it's a "#########, how did they get so many blood points??" and it's because unhooks gave them a ton of BP even though they weren't safe AND they're getting escape chase points. It's easy BP for them. Remove the easy BP from farming and it'll atleast cut down on it.
Also I would say make it so altruism emblem won't go past bronze if they have multiple unsafe unhooks in a game. Similar to how if you're hooked once you can't get iridescent in survival. If someone unsafe unhooks players more than twice in a match they can't get more than bronze in that category.
-
So one thing I've noticed that I don't like is that it's much more difficult to time out being able to go for a save during struggle because if the survivor misses a skill check it drops way more. You think you'll make it but you don't because they missed a couple skill checks making the timer drop quickly. It's a bummer.
-
I've had that happen quite a few times. Why now if I need to back out I go all the way to the main menu.
-
There's WAY too many survivors that unhook someone while they're mid-chase without BT so the killer will down the survivor that was just unhooked while they dead hard away. I think there should be a higher penalty for unsafe unhooks. I think unhooking should reward minimal blood points and that once it has registered as a safe unhook is when the player receives a large amount of BP.

Hey bm π
Hope all is well I downloaded a free game called Vigor been having so much fun on it! you can play with a group of 3 friends maximum. Give it a check out definitely filled that hole for me and my friend after both off us stepping back from dbd because of performance issues.
π·π
Aside from DBD issues everything is good here, hope same for you. Hope when you play pig you're getting plenty of boops. π
I'll check it out and see if my swf teammate would be into trying it. We've been waiting for the Evil Dead game that's supposed to come out, hoping it will be good replacement since we both love Evil Dead.
I think the devs don't realize (or if they do they don't care) they're losing entire swf teams that are experiencing poor performance. We occasionally got a 3-4swf going but the other 2 people we played with completely dropped DBD because of the performance issues.

If you fail to give any input for two consecutive hook skill checks, you will die right then.
Because my brain said "hook struggle is x hit x for the struggle skill check" instead of "it's a skill check hit your normal skill check button L1" I died after 2 skill checks. Should it have atleast been able to tell I was dumb hitting the wrong button and kept giving me skill checks because I was inputting something, just the wrong something?

I dont mind the body blocking in chase and all that but the b s spots just trigger me is all. Maybe if they had it so collision went away after a certain amount of time that would be fair.
I never saw Twins players use Charlotte to body block mid chase at like a pallet or window and use Victor. It was always body blocking a survivor in a corner or blocking a stairwell that leads to a hook like upstairs in the Thompson house.
While bodyblocking corner is bannable I'm going to guess in case of Twins they probably were receiving plenty of reports. The devs seeing it being abused so much by a single killer probably is what made the devs see removing collision as best solution since no other killer can body block you in corner while at same time downing the other players around the map and slugging them.
-
I'm glad the collision on Charlotte is gone when Victor is being used, too many players abused it. I was facing atleast one (usually more) Twin every game session, they were not low pick on ps4 crossplay off in red/purple ranks. In all my games against them I NEVER saw a Charlotte use body blocking in the ways forum members are claiming to block single gens, pallets, or windows. Instead I saw too many body blocking survivors in corners or body blocking hook areas like upstairs in Thompson house while chasing/downing/slugging players with Victor.
-
It feels like I'm playing without comms when I play with my swf teammate. So much "Are you listening to me? Can you hear me? Why aren't you responding???" Older siblings are pretty terrible when it comes to communication and listening to the youngest sibling. π
