Congrats on adding nothing of value to this thread, while insulting everyone who takes part in this thread. Congrats on once again proving why no one should take your word serious.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/144989/i-do-it-solo/p1 Oh no a survivor likes a challenge, they must be a killer main. Remember that? Than you were proven wrong. You whine time and time again about how killers in general are often but promote it being ok for survivors to treat killer players like dirt over and over again. Maybe if you truly care about dealing with the issues of rude players and bad sportsman ship. You would take the high ground for once. Oh wait you can't, you would rather take killer players out back and put down like old yeller. You are no better than any of the killers you complain about. You are part of the problem. For you can't see past the labels of killer and survivor, you treat them as the in group vs out group. For you can't see individuals as individuals. You are just as bad as all the bad killers you come across. For you act no better than them.
Which you know what a three gen is? Oh wait you just came in here to insult people and throw shade, so you can act high and mighty with a big fat smug on your face. Any group of experience survivors would not whine and complain about it. They would know how to handle it and get it done or would have known how to avoid it in the first place. For a three gen is not impossible to overcome. If the survivors whining about a three gen, knew how to play the game. They would of learn from great survivors like Ussylis, which Ussylis brings up the term three gen a fair bit. Using lines like, i hope we don't three gen ourselves, oh did we just three gen ourselves? Ussylis is most well known for playing survivor, is well aware of what a three gen is and try to avoid it if at all possible. Experience survivors know what a three gen is and how to avoid it. Maybe if you were not so quick to insult others, you would notice the point of this thread is, inexperience survivors calling something toxic and camping, when that is what a killer does. Keep the survivors off the gens and survivors can also try and stop a three gen from happening in the first place.
I read your long rant here. 1st paragraph, ok I will give you that it was a low comment although kind of funny, but crass. But I play with Lalythia a fair amount and they are a red rank survivor so there is no need to explain what a 3 gen is, how to avoid it or the point of this post. It was all very clear and understood. Also the link you are referring to was ridiculous, it is a "survivor" claiming to like being camped and tunneled. I also called bs on that post because it was beyond ludicrous.
-
I am a survivor main, and have played over 2 years. I have never heard of Gen Camping. Although clearly someone said this I don't think this is anything regularly thrown around by survivors. And just like gen rush, is impossible, because it is just an objective. Killers should be patrolling gens, so this phrase is just silly.
-
Yes and yes! lol

Killers I like (in order most first): Trapper, Doctor, Myers, Freddy
Killers I hate (in order most first): Legion, Billy, Leatherface, Nurse
I will most likely always hate Legion the most. I don't like playing him or playing against him, his perks aren't great, I never see anyone as Jeff, everyone complains about Ormond. I think that whole DLC can get canned and I wouldn't miss any of it.
Trapper has always been my boy. I like his look, his abilities and he is just kind of likable.

Maybe they are, though that is not my experince. Mind you I can't say for sure since BHVR refuses to let you know who is in an SWF so you can actually gauge your performance after a match. The fact that you say they would win in solo as well also shows there is an obvious imbalance between Killers and survivors. There is also the fact that survivors get second chance perks while killers get none save NOED, which unlike survivor perks, has a built in counter.
Ummm, most survivor perks have a built in counter too. They are also majority one time use, unlike killer perks which last the entire game. And killers have a boatload of aura perks so if you really want you can spend most of the match knowing where everyone is. Killer stats show that they win (4k) well above 50% of the time. And even with that the devs have spent a year nerfing survivors in some way every single patch, to counter SWF, which inadvertently makes solo survivors take it in the butt. But they are trying for balance.
Now the bro who said he is terrible and still a rank 1, yeah no that is not a thing. He is either not a rank 1 or is lying about his skill level. Since he already said he uses pig a lot I feel like I know all I need to know about his brand of "fun". Smells like tunnel & slug.
-
Gen rushing is not a thing. It is survivors doing their objectives. I don't get on killers for hit rushing, or chase rushing or what have you. That is what they should be doing. There are several perks and load-outs to slow down gen progress, less camp, more gen patrol. There I fixed it.

Why are you using self care in 2020?
Self caring yourself wastes too much time where you could be using to repair a generator. Replace self care with resilience not only are you being rewarded for being injured, but it goes great with spine chill to create a fast vault build.
Once you stop using self care, the better chances you have of escaping and ranking up.
There is nothing wrong with self-care. Folks get down on it, but look at this video as an example, she gets Dwight off the ground and heads off. He is injured and there are only the 2 of them. Had he had the opportunity to get away from the killer, he would have been stuck. I have switched to using Inner Strength because it is faster but I do not go into a match generally w/o heals. I am a red rank survivor (4).
Now I have had folks with bond use it to sand bag and lead the killer and that sucks. What Dwight did in this video sucks but Kate also got him up, left him injured and made no attempt to distract the killer or lead her away from the injured guy. So I can understand why Dwight was mad about how this was going down.
Not knowing more info but seeing that they needed 4 gens, the best idea most likely would have been to let Dwight bleed out and make it a hatch game. This round obviously went very bed before Dwight was leading the killer to Kate.
-
I save my DC for pricks like this. I had a Leatherface match where 2 survs got slugged down right away and he was camping there slugs. My friend and I are on a gen. She goes to try and pop one or both, but get downed and slugged. So just me. I finish gen and we get into a chase. I waste like every pallet, do two full runs around the whole map. I get downed. I DC, no way am I taking a hook after that bs. The killer made less than 10k. The whole mess was ridiculous.
-
I would have made the same choice. If I had not seen a gen worked on or the Meg in quite a while, Nea was most likely being honest about the Meg.
As a survivor I have had other bad team mates point me out for nothing more than I got in a chest they wanted, or got a totem they saw or some bs. I have also been told by one survivor that he showed the killer where I was because he hates Claudettes. I did nothing to that guy, and even offhooked him and healed him earlier in the round.
So it is a total judgement call for the killer and sometimes a hard one if you are not sure what is going on.
-
It does not sound like you tunneled this guy, and if you were running a Leatherface he should have made a more concerted effort to get to a locker. So he was most likely annoyed with everyone, the team mates who left him hanging, then when he finally gets off he gets downed immediately because of BBQ, it is a frustrating situation for the surv. You did not tunnel him though.
To the guy killing the BT survivor, you good sir are 100% tunneling that guy. And that was most likely uncalled for.

As killer i really like the chase. So i hook and instantly go for the next chase.
Could you may explain me why i eat a decisive after hooking, chasing, hooking, chasing, picking-up? I'm really sweaty tunneling, camping piece of crap i guess.
Or why a random survivor bodyblocking for the chased survivor got BT? Maybe the TR requirement is badly designed?
Or why people are allowed to delete one of their mistakes in chase with the press on a button? Why can't you give killers a perk that let's them lunge double as wide every sixty seconds. Sounds broken? Called "Dead Hard".
All of these second chance perks (without any skill involved in the scenarios i mentoned) stacked are a free win against any killer (and now the thing you need to realise) REGARDLESS OF THE PLAYSTYLE.
Both BT and DS are situational and a one time use. And BT is not a free hit, the survivor who took a BT hit has to now mend and heal. So they are out of commission twice as long to get healed.
To the 1st statement, I can't think of a situation where a killer hooked 2 folks close enough together that they could be D-striked by the 1st guy that was not a tunnel play.
DH does take skill to hit it and avoid getting smacked, it is not a move "without any skill". Killers have tons of advantage over survivors. And almost all of their perks work all game, and they get some special skill auto-built into whoever they are running. The majority of the survivor perks being discussed have been nerfed back to one time shot. So anyone real hellbent on the tunnel and slug will nullify most of those early on in the round.
So these are in no way a "free win" for survivors.

Actually killers lose a ton of points for camping. That's why camping isn't seen at high ranks. You literally cant pip for camping. You lose points for survivor proximity. I always see complaints about killers not having any sort of punishment for it and I'm just like bruh. Have you seen camp game emblem scores? It is literally impossible to pip from camping.
I hear this a lot, that Red Rank do not camp. I am a red rank survivor, currently a 4, and I will tell you from vast experience that there is a buttload of camping in red ranks. Its amount is less than rank 10 but certainly not rare by any stretch of the imagination. So you must get something from it or it would not be so prevalent.
-
THE GAME (meat packing plant). I always feel like, "Uggh, what did I do to deserve this." And I am double depressed if I see am offering for it, like really bro?
-
I agree matchmaking is a problem. My friend and I played together the other night and we are 6 and 4. Every match our team mates were 1s and 2s. But we did not have a single match with a killer out of double digits. I just let the killers kill me a time or two when the round went real bad for them.

Uhm, i never said they deserved more sweat bcs they were a swf, i just said that, if you want i can easily edit that comment and never say they were a swf. You really need to start to UNDERSTAND what you read, you just made a statement that i played poorly because i wanted to get a funny 4k using BW and you not knowing the whole story. Please, if you are one of those guys, stop commenting on people's post, you are ruining a lot of people's fun with your smartass ego. You'll get ofended by this and you will keep quoting me over and over again, trying to get off this situation, trying to make your point viable, failing endlessly
You mentioned they were a SWF including noting that you "checked their profiles", which is an odd comment if it is not relevant to your glee at last minute beating them. And I was pointing out that your win was not funny and you deserved the commentary you got.

DS, BT, Unbreakable and DH/SB works against any killer. That's the problem.
Work against any sweaty killer intent on tunneling and slugging for kills. Killers who don't participate in those activities are not bothered by DS, BT or unbreakable. I don't play that way and have never had any issue with any of those perks. The real problem is that instead of being able to run a perk set that is fun or helpful as a survivor you have to run the meta because you are going to face tunnel and slug in every match. If this was not the go to for killers you would see a lot more variety in load-outs.

Hmm, as a killer, i had BW and they insta opened the gates. I caught a guy and slugged him for a bit bcs i wanted the egc timer to go off a little, when there was like 35-40 sec left on the timer, i hooked that survivor and the entity killed the other 3 survivors bcs they couldn't escape lol.
They were a 4 man swf (i checked their profiles, all friends) and i was a "tryhard, sweaty, op perks abuser, camping killer", they all -rep my steam profile with a lot of swearings and then blocked me.
There is no such thing as insta-opening a gate. They did all the gens and opened a gate. If you had to slug a bro and depend on a perk to get your kills it is fairly bad game play and I see why they were annoyed by your behavior. And them being on a team or solos is not a factor in this story or your game play, as you are inferring heavily that they "deserved" poor sportsmanship because they were together. I do not have a SWF to play with but don't think they deserve more sweat because they enjoy playing as a team. I will agree that they should have left while the getting was good and would not have had the issue but this is not some great example of your play either.
-
By the time it takes to lobby dodge your way to a "good team" you could have been in and out of a match. This just wastes your time. As a survivor another killer comes along fairly quickly so it is not really effecting my game.
-
I had to go "something else" because it is totally dependent on the game. If the game was well played it is GG all the way and maybe some chat about stuff that was impressive. If it was a sweaty, face camper, everyone de-pipped and got under 10k, it will be some other choice words for that bro. Definitely not GG. If it was just meh I just say nothing and scoot on to the next match.
-
I only play killer like 20% of the time. I never tunnel folks, I have never been DSd. I don't run DS on my surv build but think it is a fine perk as is. It already had a nerf since I started playing.
-
You can jump out the hatch while downed/slugged. I think it would be nice if you could use a key while slugged, but currently you can't. I would LMAO if I watched a bro crawl all the way to a closed hatch and then bam, gone. Not likely though. Killers already have their panties in a bunch about the mere existence of keys.
-
For the time of day I play I am alone a lot of the time. When I am with someone else it is only 1 other player, so my SWF is only ever 2 survivors strong. I have never had a full 4-man SWF group.
-
I feel like I am at the farm a lot of the time too.

While true and a semi nice idea, this would also favor faster killers over other killers. Survivor also still has to sneak around rather than run if they're not found yet.
True but that is no different than now. Killers will always have the advantage of free movement. That can not be helped. But this seems more fair to the guy who managed to stay alive till the end. Especially so now that EGC is a thing, so most single survivors at the end get screwed anyway.
-
Funny, I am a survivor main and would support this totally. Hatch spawn before it can be used gives the killers a huge advantage. They can walk freely all over the map and usually see it before end game. The majority of the games I am in that go to hatch time, the killer walks right to it and slams it because they already saw it while wandering around. If it did not show up until go time it would give both sides the chance to find it more fairly.
This would also make keys much less useful because you could really only use them to open a closed hatch during EGC, instead of several folks heading out together.
-
Yes
-
I am a survivor main, and to compound that statement, I run Claudette more than any other. I have no issues with any perk or offering in the game. Toxicity does not come from what you have or bring it is in how you play. Nothing you brought was even mildly problematic. Slugging, with one on the hook to grab another bro was not very cool. I have a real distaste for tunnel and slug. For the most part, just taking your word in the story at face value, it does not seem like you engage in that kind of play a ton. I don't know why this guy would be upset and bother arguing what could have been. It sounds like a fair win.

Recently I started back playing dead by daylight and I noticed that the game is so unbalanced in the favor of the survivors, generators are getting repaired in 10 to 15 seconds in the start of the game that is unacceptable, there's a lotta body blocking going on, the hexes are way too easy to find that you might as well put a lighted sign on top of it and say here I am, the speed that some of these survivors have seems to Never End by the time you down someone three generators have already been repaired, and there are two exits not to mention the underground door, its four against one...... I just wanted to know is there any other hardcore players out there that feels the same way about the unbalanced, nature of this game and how it needs to be immediately corrected..... because these aspects not only take away from the game but it also makes it not enjoyable and frustrating especially during these times of covid-19.
Literally none of this is true, and BHVR has spent an entire year nerfing survivors and buffing killers to balance SWF matches. Gens take 80 seconds to finish and only faster w/ several survs, which just got a nerf. Totems have been revamped to be harder to locate and less predictable. I would look at your play style before yelling about what is and is not balanced. This sounds like you engaged in long chases and survivors did their objectives.

@Huff said:
It will never be a universal sign if 100% of all players don't agree on it.
I for one will start swinging my arms up and down if all 3 of my team mates are working on gens and they wont come to get me. I'll try to refrain from doing it really early because I'm not that impatient, but when I'm starting to approach stage 2 and literally nobody moves (which is more often than you'd think) I just start swinging em cus it's the only way I can act frantic.
If I am working on a gen and see you swinging your arms, I am going to let you die. I will assume there is a killer standing behind you and you are warning the rest away.

They said the 800 bps was negligible compared to wasted time. And as much as survivors complain about doing totems, which give even more, can you really blame them?
Yes, I can blame them, survivors already have to work way harder for their score over a killer. So I agree with Twisted there that if the fill struggle allotment was granted on death I would be fine with that. But until that, those are still my points that I am getting cucked for.

You have as much control over the next match as you did over this one. I get that people want that guaranteed 800 bloodpoints, but pretty much every other action in the game gives more bloodpoint value than struggling does. You may not be able to control everything that happens in the next game, but you're not going to spawn in and then die straight away. Cleanse one totem or rescue one teammate from the hook, and you've already made up the difference and then some.
Again, I understand that it feels bad. I'm just trying to explain, as much by way of comfort as anything, why it's not as terrible as it might seem.
Disagree, I would rather have the 800+ score, cuz you know who isn't going to be getting docked any points while I have to wait...the slugging killer. So if he has to wait 40 seconds for me to die so I can reap whatever I am going to get I should have that opportunity.

I would say that it's a problem. I've been playing survivor only for a few weeks now and I've always played both sides. But gen rushing is certainly a thing. And people that give ideas on how to counter it ... killers know. But sometimes things get out of your control. I've had games where all my chases are under 30 seconds each. I destroy survivors and still end up getting gen rushed down. That being said this new update needs to be out for more then 2 days before we jump to conclussion.
But survivors win 90% of the time if there's no mori. It's just fact. I'd never go back to killer when this ######### is so free over here on the other side. I play with people that get downed instantly and we still win. Because when the killer chases me it's just GG over for him. Mori or lose.
"Survivors win 90% of the time if there is no mori. Its a fact." Nope, this is barely an opinion. On average killers 4k over half the time. So there is no way that survivors have any where near that win ratio when mori's occur in under 10% of matches.
@RPGWolfGamer23 said:
I feel the new update has really helped though, I've been playing killer quite a bit the other day and I was actually able to win most of my games as Ghostface. Granted some teams it only happened after all the gens popped, but it was still do-able. I really believe this new patch has added more balance to the game and even if survivors escape, I know that it was still a pretty close game.
"I was actually able to win most of my matches...", "new patch has added more balance to the game." So what you are saying is "balance' for you is killers getting a 4k the majority of the time. Because that is not what balance infers, balance would be 50/50. And the game wasn't that long before the patch. I can appreciate that some of the core mechanics were adjusted for a mildly better experience but this is not balance.
-
Well that is a bunch of crap! It already sucked when you were 1st hooked as last survivor and didn't get to even try to take advantage of deliverance or even just get your 800. This just cucks survivors a little harder, in a patch that already gave a hard middle finger to all survivors. Jeez, thanks BHVR.
-
I am voting undecided because folks may come back and play or just be more likely to engage the content after a patches to check it out. So the spike in players may just be a natural occurrence related to curiosity. I do agree that BHVR should focus more on the main game and playability over new outfits and the like.
On a side note, the matches in the background of this video also highlight a reason folks are leaving this game for greener pastures, there was a ton of toxic, ridiculous game play going on there, filled to the brim with tunnel and slug. No one wants to play with a bro behaving like that. And you even see in the video survivors just giving up to get out of the match. Maybe this guy should check his behavior before pointing the finger at the devs for failing to consistently grow numbers.
-
Man, clown is taking a beating in here tonight. I have to say Legion, they could remove the whole chapter and I would be fine, perks, Jeff, ski lodge the whole kit and kaboodle. I hate the mending and healing, that all matches take 7 hours (maybe closer to 20-30 min) and everytime you get mended bam here that bro is again. Ugghh I hate it so much.
-
Trapper, he feels like the real soul of the game. The main icon for DbD and after Saminations version, he seems very likable.
-
I agree with you a 100%, op. And everyone wondering how you get a 24 hour Ban...If you DC 1 or 2 time(s) a day for 3 days you can get a 24 hour ban, it is not some astronomical amount of DCs. And amount of games is not considered. So if you are in 10 matches or 40 matches a day that means you can DC less that 5% of the time and still get a 24 hour ban. I have been kicked out of a match where my screen said the killer DCd and then my SWF informed me it was just me. I went to get back on and bam...6 hour ban. Effectively ending my night with my friend. It is not only too much time for a game I have spent a decent amount of money on. It should be resetting it self at least every 24 hours.

Yeah you can... Do both. An extra 16 seconds won't hurt you. And if you choose to Gen rush, immediately do the bones that you annotated the locations of in your mind before you rush out in the open to do an exit gate.
Yeah, you lazy survivors just do all the things with the infinite time available to you since camping a survivor takes what 20 minutes or something.
-
Slugging #3 for the 4k (or to find the hatch) or whatever is a lazy, cheap move. This just cheats the last survivor of a fair end game experience. The above example of tier 3 Myers or Oni, who have the temporary insta are more reasonable reasons. All in all slugging is a toughy as far as being able to defend its use but it has way more gray area than camp or tunnel. Just don't be dick about it. Chainsawing 3 survs, 3 min in and camping them to lure out #4 is ridiculous, tiering Mike and running get a couple down is totally fine.

Now - this comment
Its hilarious watching these kinds of comments with my popcorn when three months ago it was the exact opposite.
You.Cannot.Please.This.Community.
Dr got a buff not a nerf. And Ruin is seriously the only thing that has been nerfed killer side in like a year. I am tired of all this "this game is survivor-sided cuz of ruin", survivors have taken like 2 dozen nerfs in the last year.....but ruin. Geez.

Why would you want DC/Self-kills? I would try to avoid this at all costs. When survivors leave your match your score will be low. If I don't come out 20k+ I have failed, myself and the survs in the match.

Yes, it's just your games. I say this because you don't see killers and face-campers every game, which means that you are likely redefining the term to mean anytime you get downed again after an unhook. There are many legit ways for that to happen.
No, it is not the this guys game. I am a survivor main and generally in low purple/high red rank. If I have 10 matches in a night 80% will involve camp, tunnel and slug (or a combo) and 1 will be a farm match. Literally only 10% of my games anymore are fun, interactive matches where everyone plays well. Every match is filled with salt and fire in after-chat. This guy is not wrong, the high propensity of killers to resort to lazy, cheap game tactics is ruining the fun. That being said I think the devs have spent more than a year promoting and intensifying and condoning this stuff until it is practically all there is. And when you complain, you get told to just come to the forums (which basically means we do not care what you think or what experience you are having).
-
I let them all leave more often than not. I also always get ruthless or merciless killer, which makes me smile. Just work those objectives and everyone wins.
-
Funny Claudette and Meg are my most rounded out characters and were in this together, for the boys...I heart Jake.
-
My profile is set to private so I have no idea if anyone has tried to leave me hate-mail outside the game. I have not had very much in game anger directed at me but I am a pretty fair killer and a decent survivor. I did have a guy, not to long ago, use a lot of racial slurs because I played Claudette, and I and several others reported them.
-
I rarely bring in stuff from the start because everyone standing in the lobby with an item just invites Franklins. With every survivor nerf it changes though as far as my thoughts on what is good, medkits got a nerf, so for a while it was toolboxes, then toolboxews got a massive nerf so back to medkits. I have never brought a flashlight, I don't use them, and if I find one in trial I just leave it in the chest for someone else to find (unless it is a hag). Maps are also fairly worthless, if you have been playing awhile. So currently just the occasional medkit when I solo.
-
Altruism, every time. I play with a real "no troll left behind" view and get killed more often than not trying to get other team members out. Most likely, hooks after the exit is open.
