As long as the bots provide a decent challenge, then absolutely.
I'd love to use it to practice looking behind me in chase and finally getting decent at nurse without the pressure of a real match.
Also it would be useful when the internet is unavailable.

My missus is an academic and she hadn't heard of 'trimester' being used outside of pregnancy either.
Doing a bit of reading up on it now, and there is actually a pretty interesting debate around it.
Really? That's interesting. I'll have to Google it myself now... π§

not too bad, just vibing with life and procrastinating to stop stressing, hbu?
Good now, yes. Thank you for asking.
Just recovering from trying to fit one months worth of University work into one week, lol. π
Aside from my job and looking after my Mum (who finally had her Wisdom teeth out under general anesthesia - she's been trying to get that done for two years now) - my time is (almost) my own again.

Your...trimester?
*Looks it up*.
Huh. I learned something today.
Yeah, university language is odd... I've lost count of the amount of times I had to Google something in class.

welcome back, glad you managed to reach your deadline for your Uni work!
You missed that Legion got a buff today and I'm just happy that their fatigue was reduced and they have cool chase music!
Honestly, the chase music for Legion is amazing β₯οΈ
I absolutely have to try out both Ghostface and Legion when I've finished the update.

I think the new flag is causing the majority of the issues, as this tends to be contentious even within progressive circles.

Welcome back, and congrats!
I...should really spend less time on the forums myself. They are just way too useful for procrastination.
Yes, the DbD Twitter and forums are my two top contenders for driving me away from Uni work. π
Luckily, I was able to force myself away and now I'm done for this trimester - I can focus on my own time and relax.
Definitely cut it pretty close, though. A lesson learnt... π€£

Hello! Welcome back!
Have you been away from DBD as well? There've been some MMR tests that led to what I see as some pretty positive changes to the matchmaking model, and I haven't encountered any cheaters in a while, so DBD has been pretty fun lately!
Yes, I managed to sneak some time in during my studies. I noticed my killer matches were slightly less sweaty, which was good.
I plan to play as soon as my update is done, but I don't think it'll be done any time now. π
Maybe tomorrow.

Glad to have you back Nightmare, not much has changed other then David becoming gay and creating a entirely expected #########-storm, but other then that, it's exactly like how you left it :)
Oh, I've seen the Reddit... Yeah, it's near hilarious how some people over there feel personally attacked by it.
Personally, I'm super happy about it - but I guess that's just my opinion.

Around three days a week at the moment because I have an upcoming deadline for my University modules.

Purely because it looks pretty and glows a misty white colour.
My second favourite item is the Halloween flashlight.

In the event of a laggy match, my first port of call is to bring up the match stats and set my graphics to the lowest possible setting. This almost always helps.
But if that doesn't help, I go Afk while I check for any ongoing downloads in the background (pausing them if I find any).
If it's still laggy after all that (which is kinda rare now), but still in a playable state- I will try to play as normal, bearing in mind that I won't do well.
If it's glicthed so much to an unplayable degree (which has only ever happened to me twice), I will just go fully Afk and find something else to do while I wait for the match to be over.
(One of these glicthes was preventable by myself, as I'd forgotten to check my Steam downloads π ; the other was really odd and I just got locked in the gen kicking animation as Pryamid Head on Autohaven, while the match went on as normal around me.)

Hey there! And welcome back :)

Sadly we don't have UK shipping on the Store. This is something I've brought up internally. Sadly Brexit is causing us all sorts of issues - the main places that I've bought things from in the USA no longer ship to the UK :(
Ok, thanks Mandy.
It's just that I couldn't even select the UK as an option before, so I thought there was a change that we weren't notified about yet (hence my reason for waiting before a celebration).

I hate to admit this, but RPD is the only map in which I genuinely feel an urge to DC.
Luckily I never have done.
The map itself is brilliant in graphics and atmosphere, yet the design is so frustrating.
I'm still hoping for a single player custom lobby where I can roam around a map in my own time, to get used to it.

Power of Evil, basically 300 Power of Evil tier ups....it's painful. Especially considering I dislike playing this killer.
Good luck on completing the achievement!

This. The little sack on the back of his neck. That wasn't part of his original design though.
He initially looked like this:
Oh, that. I haven't played any silent hill games past SH2, so I wouldn't know about any later games.
I personally like his original design better, but would love to see any new Pyramid Head cosmetics.

I'll be depressing for a second.
I'm sick. Very sick and nobody knows why. I had to drop out of school because my health declined too much.
As sad as it sounds, this community means a lot to me. I can put my knowledge and my experience to use. I can feel proficient and good at something.
Maybe that's pathetic, but I don't have a lot to feel good about these days.
That's not pathetic at all; I'm glad that you've managed to come this far to find something that makes you happy; that's something very difficult to do - so grab every golden scrap of what makes you feel good. π
You've no need to feel bad about that - wishing you all the best.
-
Hey! Nice one π
-
Happy to see that they're doing this more often

Both putting the trail of torment in certain shapes...

Read the title and immediately thought of these:

Here's what I can remember: I joined during the 2020 Halloween event.
- Missing loads of skill-checks.
- Maining Meg.
- Not knowing about the Rift.
- Crouching around.
- Pre-dropping pallets.
- Hiding at the first sign of danger.
- W + Shift.
- Being really proud of my first escape.
- Being a Trapper main.
- Trying Huntress and failing (not much change there.) π
- Getting scared of stealth killers.
- Maining Nea (have been maining her as Survivor since.)
- Being thankful for bringing Spine Chill against a pig.
- Learning about the Rift.
- Searching for tutorials online.
That sums up my first 1-3 months of DbD pretty well, I'd say.
-
They weren't being toxic in game - however they were pretty tilted by the end game chat and likely said some potentially toxic things there.
So no, the gameplay wasn't toxic; but the end game chat may have been a different story.
The game does get to people sometimes, but stories like these are just a reminder to take a deep breath before hopping into the chat. π
Hopefully your next end game chats will be more positive.
-
If it's in the shrine of secrets, then no.
But otherwise, you will have to buy the character and then level him up to unlock the teachables.
-
I really don't know to be honest...
I can ask for you in the Q&A section, though.
-
Hex: appeal
Is probably the most memorable to me for some reason.
-
I only chase one survivor almost the whole match when I've given up already π
There comes a point when I realize that I'm never going to get them and that I've wasted too much time now to not commit to the chase.
So I just practice some attacks, see how they dodge them and maybe try some mind games that they don't fool for.
It is nice sometimes to get a really good survivor though and I learn stuff from watching how they outplay me.
In time, I'll outplay them... Just not right now. So I just half-heartedly go for them and observe.

So basically, whenever you rekindle a totem, it duplicates pentimento and even if the original is cleansed you can continue to get totems as long as you have at least one rekindled totem?
It looks like as long as there is a broken totem (broken once; it has to be either another hex or a dull one), then you can.
But it appears that you can only rekindle a totem once (last sentence of the screenshot), as it gets consumed by the entity upon hex: pentimento being cleansed.
So in practice, it looks very difficult to get all 5 hex: pentimento stacks.
-
You start a match with no hex pentimento totems.
It works when either a dull or hex (if you run any other hex perks) totem is cleansed, if I remember correctly.
So to be lucky and get all five hex: pentimento totems up - survivors will have to destroy all 5 totems regardless of whether they are originally hex totems or not.
From there (a destroyed totem) you can rebuild it into a hex: pentimento totem.
I think survivors can cleanse the hex pentimento totems as usual though: I don't know if you can rebuild it again or not though.
Edited to (hopefully) make things clearer. I hope this helps.

A crumbling, dried cherry flower.
Once the symbol of mortality.
- Killer InstinctΒ is triggered whenever Survivors come withinΒ 4 metresΒ ofΒ The SpiritΒ during aΒ Phase-Walk.
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Dried_Cherry_Blossom
Basically, if you're 4 meters from a survivor while phasing, the game will tell you "Here they are!"
Thanks dude.

Can someone remind me what this does again? Been a while since I played Spirit with add-ons
Thanks in advance.

I myself have been attempting to play with no perks/offerings/add-ons (without 30 seconds AFK).
Out of 10 games so far I got
- 10 kills
- 28 escapes (lol)
- 1 hatch
I'll post the full results after 20 matches, I think - but so far it's not going well π€£
This is at 700hrs with Pyramid Head

Well, I'm a great believer of that if you don't enjoy something anymore, then it's probably time to let that thing go.
You're definitely not alone in this.

Oh no, I stopped watching after two hours on New Year's Eve.
I checked in after 8 hours and he had left, so I shut off my Xbox with my phone.
So anywhere between 2-8 hours. Which is kind of sad, tbh.
On the bright side, at least he didn't jump straight into another match afterwards and ruin many other's fun...
Pretty terrible that people do this kind of thing though.
I guess you could say that you ended up holding him hostage π€£
I'm lucky I've never had this kind of blatant hacker in my games

I've got to say that out of all the FNAF characters - William Afton (SpringTrap) seems to be the most likely candidate (due to BHVR not putting children in the game thus far).
