The ranking system is basically going away soon. So this is pretty irrelevant.
Did they change there statement. Last I heard it was a 'we are thinking about hiding it.'
Also if they hide it I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the same mechanics for playing against other players

NOED is not fine and not fair.
Its literally a DS for killers.
NOED rewards you for failing at protecting gens, without having any conditions other than 1 dull totem surviving.
DS rewards you for getting caught again in the 60s, doesnt matter if you got tunneled or are doing a gen in the killers face.
NOEDs power should be based on amount of hooks/downs/whatever you did before it activates, so that it requires you to play well and not just be losing the game.
DS should disable as soon as survivor starts doing objectives or there are no other targets remaining. The timer should be paused while in a chase, so that its an anti tunneling perk and not unconditional immunity for 60s.
When I first read your comment it started to annoy me but then I read your solutions and mate you have got the right idea!

Survivors are way too overpowered as it is. They shouldn't even be allowed to have perks cause it is unfair to the killer. 4 vs. 1 really? So stupid even to let them have perks when they have the advantage. It stupid I have to camp just to get a kill while the other 3 run borrowed time or decisive strike trying to save him. ######### this stupid BS. I won't play again until they change this.
Well then I guess your never going to play again and to that I say good riddance :)

I think Hag would be the first to go, Plague would fight hard but likely die early as well, unsure about Bubba/Ghostface/Spirit, Oni would be a real threat, Myers would also be very deadly. Wraith would probably have a hit and run play style where he goes around to the struggling Killers and tries to finish them off (or he would stay cloaked until one Killer was left and battered from fighting everybody). For some reason I don’t feel like Billy would be too deadly, maybe get a couple of kills and then Oni would tombstone him. Legion (only one member could appear) could do pretty well, Clown would not be too much to worry about I presume. Trapper seems like he could take on one of the big guys like Myers or Oni, but I don’t think he would end up winning against them. Nurse and Pig would not do great in my opinion, but Huntress could definitely get into the later stages of the match. I feel like Doctor may be annoying to deal with, but some of these Killers could probably just ignore his shock therapy/static blasts and take him out. Nightmare may be deadly against Survivors, but against other Killers, dream snares/fake pallets/teleporting to gens doesn’t do much and he would likely die early. Demo is certainly a contender to win, but I’m completely confident he would take it all. I would say the Final 3 would be Oni, Myers, and Demo but Oni would take it all. What do you guys think?
Demo in my opinion. The killers may have been boosted strength wise and while the Demogorgon is not actually that strong when it comes to killing as shown by the show which is where his lore is from in stranger things he is shown to be a complete ######### to kill that can ignore rifle fire etc. Even with the onis strength I doubt Oni would land a clean hit on him and if he did I doubt it would do much more than phase him

- Not the killer's fault that the other survivors saved you without perks to ensure safe unhooks.
- Not the killer's fault that the other survivors saved you without ensuring the killer was distracted elsewhere.
I can go on, but that looks like a good stopping point.

You can say that about so many problems in so many games or even in real life scenarios. Just be wise it's not against the rules doesnt mean the killers not being an #########.
Like if you cheated on your partner for no apparent reason, your just a ######### and that's a problem, just because it's not against 'the rules' (law) doesn't mean it's acceptable...

I'm punishing the team and if I don't they'll just keep doing it. They gotta know they are not immune bt and ds doesn't make you invincible.
The problem is most people that get farmed aren't SWF and in the end, the people that save you Infront of the killer and don't take a hit when they are full health are the sort of people who crouch around the map and get the hatch so getting you to the next stage, whether that be death, is probably better for them because we all know they aren't gonna do gens. When I play killer (albeit rarely now) if someone saves a survivor Infront of me I often hit them down but allow the team to heal them, if the saving survivor didn't even try taking a hit that's probably the only scenario when I'll start tunneling xD

When the Wraith is cloaked, just use your flashlight on him (anywhere on his body i think). It takes 3-4 seconds and he gets stunned.
Hmm interesting, thanks :)
-
Survivor main here (use to play both but I guess I'm now a survivor main since I haven't touched killer in ages)
No, killers don't need any more nerfs, I hated ruin and it made the game more enjoyable after the nerf but they didn't have anything to balance it out with and it's made even the best killers laughable. If anything I think they should make the easier killers better but harder to play. (Like Oni, buff him but make him more difficult to handle meaning at high ranks I'll have more of a challenge)
-
I'm at rank 1, pretty aggressive (if thats the right word) survivor who's has the game for like 9 months (350 hours?) or so and I chase alot and love flashlights (so satisfying getting saves) but I've never actually flashlight burnt a wraith. How does it work, do you need to blame them or is it just flashlighting their body? Is there any techniques to it?

Yes, because instant unhooks are balanced and it's tunneling when the person got unhooked in front of you`
Yeah so why are you gonna punish the survivor that gets hooked Infront of you and no the person that saved him Infront of you

Tunneling and camping is not bannable, these are legit tactic and no killer deserves such a behave for using legit tactics. Im not verbal abusing survivors that are teabegging me in gate even I consider it as dirty gesture. I just hope that BHVR is banning these ppl immediately so they not poison game anymore.
Ha legit tactics, just because something isn't bankable doesn't mean it's not a dick move. Flipping some random old lady off in public isn't illegal in most places but it doesn't mean you do it. Honestly if your camping and tunnel that can really ruin the experience of a game which will often be 10-15 minutes so them throwing a couple of curse words at you is really much less impactful. Also this isn't a game for children, some people like this may act like it but also, you shouldn't take it so personally, just because someone insults you over the internet you doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to handle it. It's not Minecraft, if someone's rude to you literally deal with it, especially if it's self caused. Tunneling and camping may not be banable but it completely diminishes the experience of a game. I can easily die in a game of dbd and still be content because it was a good match with intense chases but it is no fun if you die because the killer sucks so just camps you the whole time after beating you once in a chase

It's not good them being toxic ofc but if you were actually tunneling and camping I have no sympathy for you. They complained and swore at you, not physically hurting you in any way shape or form because you played unfairly and made the game boring. You don't tend to get this kind of toxicity if you don't play scummy

Problem is the matchmaking system. These people never lose pips, they only black pip. It's undeniably easy to get to purple ranks and even red ranks (im a rank 2 survivor and I play this game casually, not competetively and it shows that it's not much of an achievement as most of my team are immersed people that don't take hits for you and let you get tunneled by the camping killers when you could've easily all escaped.
The matchmaking system needs a complete overhaul, it's utterly useless as it is and I think I remember the Devs saying somewhere it's not skill based but I can't remember where. If it isn't skill based why the ######### do you have it, your just making excuses for your broken ass system. Red ranks should be hard to get in and hard to stay in and you should play against people with moderate levels of skill
-
Problem with countering it is you rely on your teammates. I had a game where I brought DS, borrowed time, dead hard and inner strength. Pretty standard build, so I save someone with borrowed time and they let me get hit, ok annoying but not too bad. Later they go down after not letting the killer hit them with their borrowed instead trying to loop them and I'm not injured so I could only take a dead hard hit at best. Well they go down and get put on hook but make sure to suicide as I get to them leaving me out in the open. I go down, annoying but oh well. I'm then picked up, hooked and later saved by some meg who doesn't understand the concept of taking hits. Oh well it's fine, I'll just have to use DS. I pull off the DS and loop for a good amount of time until there is one gen left and then get hooked, this meg then saves me Infront of the killer when bill was trying to and I'm a few meters away from the killer. It's fine I think, she knows I've used my DS, she will take a hit. No she purposefully runs away leaving me to die. There was literally nothing I couldve done, I baited a hit with dead hard but the nearest unused pallet was still to far and I just got slapped up on the hook and the meg just got to straight up escape for my sacrifice that wasn't necessary (she hadn't been on hook once and if she did go on hook I would've just used borrowed on her. Bill later told me he was coming to save me, let me take a borrowed hit, take a hit for me, run to his gen which he 99ed and then adren so the killer didn't instadown him. If I got that bill I would've been fine but no... I got a useless survivor that just saves me for bloodpoints and nothing else, not even willing to take a hit (the guy hadn't popped final gen yet, she couldn't have been worried about noed).

@Wesker said:
I had multiple trials where my opponents did 4 gen in 3 minutes (they had toolboxes and I was the Wraith in Rotten Fields)
They left the last gen at 99% and then started messing around, so I get a 4k; they had pretty decent looping skills also, didn't fall for mindgames before the 4th gen popped. What the hell guys, are you really trying to tell them the game is in good conditions after the ruin rework?
No honestly, if you think this is what is causing this your being ridiculous. If anyone is doing this to prove the Devs data I can assure you it's so rare because I've never even heard of it that it probably wouldn't skew the results at all. Infact farming killers and killers giving up the hatch is far more common and would more than counter any skew to the data that this extremely small group of people do. Devs data isn't being proved by survivors dying on purpose...

I mean, you won't get hit by the car if you're not crossing the road, so it's true. It's a small chance you'd get hit in the first place, but it's still a chance. Same with getting streamsniped too. You accept the low risk by crossing the "road".
You accept the low risk by crossing the road... Yeah he accepts the risk but it doesn't mean it's fair. Your analogy doesn't work at all here because if we are going by the logic of the situation it would mean drivers aren't punished for running someone over. Let's reword that analogy to make it make sense.
Your accepting the risk of getting ran over by crossing the road when it looks safe but if a driver speeds round the corner and mows you down for crossing the road and getting in the way then he's punished so the killer should be as well...

I understand dead hard is a situational perk that activates when the survivor is injured, but having it activate every time the survivor is injured is very unfair, especially when multiple survivors run it. It should be like DS where you can only use it once. So many survivors have escaped thanks to using die hard multiple times in the game.
Ur just bad if you don't know how to counter dead hard. It is easy to counter after you know they have it so that one initial dead hard is normally the only big one and if one dead hard is losing you a kill you shouldn't have that kill
-
2/5 of the gens being done is NOT 2/5 of the survivors objective because not only is there an exit gate and actually escaping after but the less gens left the much harder they are to do as it's alot easier to pressure 3 as opposed to 8

First afternoon/night with this patch at red ranks:
-Killers get gen rushed as hell (don't give me that crap that gen rush is not a thing, it is).
-When they don't get gen rushed, it's because they have to tunnel and/or camp to get a few kills (unless it's a god tier HB, nurse or spirit or your team are potatoes) which feels cheap, it doesn't feel like he's a god-tier wraith, he just tunnels or camps or uses a memento or NOED to "save" a bad match. You feel disgusted after every match because you died for getting tunneled, or because the killer used some cheap trick, not because he outplayed you.
-Ruin is useless, unless it's at a hidden spot and the killer is legion or something, getting people off gens constantly. If you're not legion (or maybe freddy?), ruin is useless. It's even more useless against SWF, telling each other which gen they're working on. And of course, they can still find it 10 seconds after the match starts.
-As killer, even garbage survivor can gen rush and escape, they don't need to outplay you, just hide, do gens, loop an infinite and that's it.
-This is how games are now, a killer frustrated because he only did 3-5 hooks the entire match. As a survivor, after every match you'll feel disgusted because the killer used some cheap strategy to kill you or you'll feel bored as hell because you won only by holding M1 and escaping.
god damn the amount of NOED killers use only to face camp you the whole game is infuriating. Especially if you've cleansed all but one totems and can't find that last one and then it spawns
-

Hmm, have you heard of the new 'Legendary Survivor/Killer' bug where you get the achievement of 'Hitting rank 1' just for playing?
I like grinding and that achievement offered something to grind for. Sure rank does matter too much but it's nice to say that you made it but suddenly your badge goes out the window because now everyone's got it. I don't know if steam will even let you remove achievements for certain players but not others
-
D
If the teammate has been good then I'll try to save them by looking for totems or saving them if I have a fair amount of safety. If they were utterly useless and hid all round not doing gens then I'll likely leave them to die but if other people are going for them I'll wait for them.
If I'm in a SWF I'll try to my friends regardless as it makes the game more intense unless they ask me to go or they are being facecamped, a random opens the door and we can't find the totem

Creators presented Freddy as killer with some special abilities - permanently invisible, with simple and smooth skills - put someone to sleep, then you are able to attack it. I like that, thats why i bough this DLC. And after while it gets complete rework, with senseless Traps OR fake pallets (Why THOSE skills? Is it somehow connected to original movie? Why ONE of those skills? Why teleport to generators? Why invisible ONLY in designated range? It really makes no sense). By my opinion Freddy became from "top fun" killer, to one of most useless and boring killers in game!!!
Its like when you buy new Porshe, after while you HAVE TO go to car service and get out from there with Fiat.
I really dont like this "scam".
If you think updating and changing a game is a scam your a moron. By your logic whenever anything is reworked in a game then you are entitled to a refund. Oh this game wasn't as advertised when I bought it because they put work on it and made it better so it's a scam. The fact of the matter is that I have heard very few people complain about new Freddy (your a first actually) because they made good work refining him and making him better.
You can't cry for a refund when a game gets updated and it's not exactly a scam because they already did the work, they wouldn't purposefully screw the people that bought it over just to spit in their face. It's literally just getting the game more enjoyable and interesting. If it worked the way you wanted then the game would be dead in the water, they wouldn't ever update it and then what, you can't complain for a refund as the game gets more and more stale, more repetitive because you didn't want it to ever change.
-
Ok actually I've changed my answer, I believe there are 2 seperate things:
Playing scummy to win: Exploiting game tactics/weaknesses (like tunneling) for an easy game putting the opponent at harm. Not necessarily toxic but often can be if a killer only does it because they are mad that a survivor outplayed them.
Toxic: Purposefully putting the opponent in an unpleasant situation, not to help you but to spite them (e.g. Hitting the survivor on hook, facecamping (unless it's a baby killer that doesn't know any better), flashlight clicking, furiously teabagging when you drop a pallet (or those damn pigs and ghostfaces that finally get you down only to teabag on you)
-
In my opinion toxic is when you intentionally ruin someone's game. For instance, tunneling is really infuriating and I think some killers are just bad and not trying to be toxic but others get outplayed so just tunnel a person to get them out the game early as a statement like 'Oh how dare you outplay me, for that I'm going to make sure you can't escape by tunneling you straight of hook and not going for anyone else.' Or when someone just does something primarily to piss you off like survivors waiting for you in the exit gate only to furiously mash shift (or whatever key they have bound to crouch), flashlight click etc. I wouldn't consider flashlights to be toxic unless your using them to click and be noisy every time you drop a pallet. Blinding in the exit gate when you've already won is debatable as they may just be doing it for bloodpoints

Seriously...there is times when all you deserve is a 3k because the gens were done and you couldn’t stop the last guy from opening a well deserved gate. Or even if they find the hatch that’s fair enough. BUT why the hell does the freaking hatch spawn when the survivors did littearly 0%of their ONLY objective (which could be done insanely quickly especially with new ruin) and still escape. Even if you are the one who finds the hatch first the game still gives a chance to the last potato and powers the gates, and most of the time you get there it’s already opened and you see the last trashbag survivor tbaging at the gate like they won, but again they did freaking NOTHING. A game where the killer completelly dominates (which is thanks to the survivors being bad) shoulnd never end with anyone escaping. They littearly get TWO more chances to get away and it’s just dumb. I advise that, the hach should only spawn from 2 gens like before. Being able to close it was not a trade off but necesarry. There is no reason for it to spawn when nothing is done.
Well then there would be literally no point for survivors to play anymore when it hits endgame as they would be completely ######### so just immerse themselves in the game and hide. Maybe if they fixed gate spawns this problem would be able to be debated but until then nah

There is no reason for bodyblocking survivors to be reportable. They aren't going to making: Holding the game hostage and bodyblocking the same as sometimes bodyblocking is only done for a minute and not holding the game hostage and they aren't making it super long winded. Mettle of man literally is built around taking hits which killers won't often give you and the only reason for it is so you can help people wiggle free. It's called a protection hit for a reason and it's because you are protecting the survivor from the hook. It's a gameplay feature that's literally part of the game otherwise they would've made many things that could prevent it just when the killer is holding a survivor. They can't implement a system where survivors can push killers whenever just incase they are being bodyblocked as that would cause a plethora of issues.

Cause u haven't read everything sometimes I wonder if we even play the same game twice in 2 days some know it all trys to say I'm wrong
'Bodyblocking' refers to when a killer gets you in a spot you cant escape and just holds you there for ages (very toxic). It's not the same as survivors bodyblocking the hook and stopping the killer from hooking the survivor since you can hit survivors to get them out of the way and it's not something that is detrimental to the game and is a mechanic otherwise they would give killers noclip or some pushing mechanic. Survivors can't do ######### against killers bodyblocking and it just takes ages for the game to end and for the killer to just kill you, sometimes forcing you to DC.
-
Some people like you seem to think it's the exact same thing but be honest here. As a survivor the main thing you do is fix gens, it's just you naturally doing your objectives. With killer you can go to other survivors but it doesn't really work saying a survivor is being toxic for 'genrushing' when unless they are being chased there is basically nothing else they can do other than search chests and destroy totems I suppose? The issue there comes with the games balance, not the survivors being toxic unlike tunneling...

To be fair the guy who said this game is bad for new players is completely right. Ive got a few friends into the game but most of them don't play because the game normally lasts ages with them and they repeatedly die at the end, even if they are playing alone and not with me. I get a learning curve but the game is just so killer sided in the beginning. Are you saying that there should only be a learning curve for survivors and one that's so hard and boring because you never escape that everyone quits? Im a good player now and enjoy the game somewhat but if my friend hadn't nagged me it wouldn't have taken me long to quit

Is it knowing that certain loops are safe like the coal tower and to just constantly run them? Well. It's not exactly demanding if people at rank 13 are doing it constantly.
Is it knowing how to not 3 gen yourselves? Well. If 4 survivors are Alive at that point it's a game of attrition that isn't that hard to play. If 3 or 2 are Alive you get your free escapes with a key
Is it playing unsafe loops correctly? Well. All you do is drop the pallet early or don't drop it at all.
Is it outplaying a killers power? Because running in a straight line to counter legion isn't hard. Running calm spirit/going into lockersto counter doctor isn't hard. Looping clown isn't hard. Running spine chill to counter stealth killers isn't hard.
Dodging a hillbilly/huntress/nurse power use isn't hard, but it isn't braindead.
Was it hitting great skill checks consistently? Well don't worry you don't have to after the ruin rework.
Please. Tell me what's demanding about playing survivor, and then give a killer equivalent.
E.g : holding m1 on a gen is equivalent to getting an m1 hit in a dead zone. Although not really because unlike holding m1 on a gen their isn't a dead hard, or a borrowed time, or a decisive killer equivalent that'll effect your m1ing after the ruin rework
This isn't saying ruin rework garbage, there's plenty of feedback about that, but it was the killer equivalent of 3 strong survivor perks.
Killer is so much easier to play in general than survivor. Coming from someone who played both but dropped killer out of sheer boredom. Gens aren't that fun but looping is way funny and more challenging as a survivor. You need to be very precise about your movement, the killer is the power role so you always need to be one step ahead of them. While more simplistic in terms of ability there is not only that extra level of skill in hitting flashlights, consistently looping killers, working against mindgames (it's easy to mindgame as a killer, especially at certain unsafe pallets, as a survivor countering the mindgame is much more difficult, if the killer fails it no Biggie he can do another but the survivor will just go down or be 1 hit off).
I enjoy escaping, there's alot of pressure, tactics, a bit of immersion every now and then but normally clean chases where every one can be your last but it's actually difficult to loop on half the loops and thus much more satisfying when you actually escape whereas as killer every hit is like meh ok
Also killer is the strong one. There are 4 survivors for a reason and because of that when your against the killer it's facts that your likely going to go down eventually die to a killer being stronger than you because your just one defense less person. Thats why you have to loop efficiently and though I find it easier to 3-4k as a killer than I do to escape as a survivor but even if it's the other way around you are stronger than a single survivor so it's way easier to outplay them then for them to outplay you. You have a demand on pressuring generators but the actual place where it's fun (looping not walking simulators) is where it becomes unbelievably easy to mindgame as a killer

Rank 4 survivor, 6 killer
Oh yeah and I don't push for rank. I play super casually

Exactly. I think if they changed ruin in the way they did then they need to slow regular gen speed. Once you get around the higher ranks then people start knowing what to do and who should be on gens, who should be saving, whos looping where, and just overall game knowledge. Gens are gonna start popping left and right. Its not very easy to juggle 4 survivors who all know how to play the game to a high skill extent.
Well as I said in my post I suggested a change that I recon many more people would be on bored with because it would make games longer and harder for survivors but without making it boring

In short "i want it to be easier to get a 4k."
Bruh, I'm a survivor + killer player but I play mainly survivor (like only killer for archives now) because I find killer boringly easy so no but since everyone complains survivors are op...

Those were 2 nerfs, killers got nerfed way more.
Most killers have received nerfs that only apply to 1 or 2. A survivor nerf is much more impactful as they are skins so you nerf one thing and all are needed. Granted ruin was a massive nerf but it's the first all killer one in a while

I like spirit's both red add ons: mother ring and father glasses. Crazy speed and good blood track
Eh father's glasses kinda suck.

I mean, what did you expect
You failed 2 different ways of escaping so what do you expect
Hitboxes are fine as well
Well all hotboxes but huntresses are fine. Hers can be bad, sometimes they should hit when they don't and sometimes they shouldn't hit when they do. There is a clear issue with hits and many killers but that isn't really the hotboxes but moreso the lag of the game. Some games can get you hit in cases where youve finished the pallet jump and are on the other side of the pallet but they get you, not due to the hotbox but due to lag

That falls into my second part of the paragraph. If you're being farmed off the hook, you aren't going to have fun that game anyway. Therefore, may as well go out in a more interesting way than just getting sacrificed on hook, and move on to the next game with whatever points you got, rather than DC, tick off four other players, and not get rewarded with any points for it. A mori is really just a DC that's allowed, in that case. That's how I choose to look at them in the scenarios where my team screws me over, or the killer camps and tunnels.
Plus, regardless of your opinion on moris, getting farmed off the hook is a reason to be mad at the survivor doing it, not the killer.
Yh I don't like DCers, really pisses me off as a survivor anyway even with a Mori since it makes a nearly impossible unfair game impossible. I was just making a joke. There is however a simple fix to this. Make secret offerings actually secret BUT nerf moris into the ground (they are way too OP, I can see them allowing you to kill the survivor after 2 hooks to nullify things such as DS and maybe to compensate allow it to act as if the survivor has been hooked (like BBQ and chilli still procs so moris arent utterly useless))

Lol ya this guy gets it. It's a game. If you aren't having fun, just turn it off.
Op keeps talking about dying do to things out of his control, but a survivor literally can't die of their own volition. No matter how you slice it, a survivor can never cause their own death.
He really doesn't though. It's a game, that I paid for... I'm not just going to turn it off. Instead im going to give constructive criticism but loads of you fanboys kneel for behaviour interactive and act like because it's a game they like there is no problem with it at all. If no one complained about old mettle of man, old vacuum pallets and other features this game would be a complete shitshow. Some people don't understand that criticism is needed in a game. And yeah, if you expect me to be literally god tiered and loop the killer who wasn't absolutely awful or rank 20 making it a challenge for the whole game then yeah it's in my control but a survivor v killer game should be given to whoever does the best/who is the better player. Ofc there will be minor exceptions but there shouldn't be a point where even amazing survivors come up against moderate killers, go down once and die (not saying I'm amazing but I'm saying pretty much everyone else in that situation would've eventually died, even most pros because you can't be expected to NEVER go down in a game, it normally gives you 3 chances for a reason...)

People make to big of a deal out of getting morried. Ok the killer morried you. You did get downed. And you might say oh my tm8 farmed me off hook. Well you got hooked in the first place. If you have a game with a Mori who cares
If I queue up 10+m for a game. Get moried wasting my item and time and it's not just a one off occurrence I think I have a right to be annoyed. It's not like I could've avoided the hook the whole game unless the killer was trash or I was a pussy and crippled my team by slinking around and hiding till hatch
