  • By this logic and counting it as rewarding them for losing it seems you think first hook is a loss. You're probably the sort of person who thinks an Ebony Mori should be base kit because you can't play right

  • @Vetrathene said:

It only activates once you've been downed AND hooked. Its giving survivors sixty seconds of immunity for not escaping the killer. But NOED is the ONLY problem.

U moron, DS punishes tunneling killers. Survivors are always going to get hooked at least once if the killer isn't utterly #########.

DS you immunity for 60 seconds after getting off hook which means you need to basically be tunneled off hook and if your getting tunneled off hook, since escaping a killer is pretty much impossible your dead without any chance. Decisive just means the killers have to go to someone else. Sure... old decisive did reward failure but new decisive doesn't. If your honestly losing games because of DS I think it's a you problem and not a game problem

Hi this is my first discussion/question so go easy on me but why is the Plague pick rate so darn low. I mean she seems to do decent but I'm guessing it's because of one tricks which is fine just raises the question is she a bad killer? Does she need a buff? A rework? A makeover so people pick her? (That last one was a joke) but ya let's talk about it.

Oh no don't buff her. I don't think she is underpowered. I think she's just boring to play and play against. I wouldn't be against a rework that makes her more enjoyable but I have the feeling she won't have any treatment for a long time

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    What are you talking about.

Trapper can easily get the killer one. In fact I did it with the doctor yesterday. 3 hooks at basement actually.

What exactly is toxic about hooking someone in the basement? I don’t get it.

Hooking 2 people in the basement at the same time is most easily achieved with camping it and who tf wants to camp the basement as it's just toxic af.

If survivors can disconnect to protest for changes, then killers should be allowed to give up as a sign of protest also. With 1 killer needed for every 4 survivors, survivors will feel it more as killers start to drop off the game...

Ah so what your saying is we should add another prominent issue to the game?

The main ones who get punished when a survivor leaves are the survivors, the killer loses bloodpoints and potential pips but in most cases survivors lose the entire game so don't try and make it seem like survivors have it easier than killers.

I assume your talking about having a system that incentives it or makes it way more easy? Because you do realise that survivors can just press the disconnect button, they don't have to wait until dying on hook. Its not that much more difficult to DC as killer and adding more reason to is utterly ridiculous.

  • @Broccoli_Jaeger said:

This is not a bait post.

Since BHVR doesn't listen to killer mains anyway they should stop resisting against the nerfs. Let the survivor mains continue crying about killers being "too strong". This will cause the killer mains to leave the game and then the survivors are going to cry about the lobby times taking 30-60 minutes on average.

BHVR will also see that they are losing a huge number of players because of this so they are going to buff killers in an attempt to get them back.

Just stop resisting against the nerfs. The devs will either destroy their own game or they will finally listen to both sides to create balance.

You're just chucking fuel on the ######### fire man. I don't know what your looking for, upvotes, respect? Because it doesn't look like Ur getting either

    A. It works.

    B. It's easily countered.

    C. It's legit.

    D. A legitimate strategy isn't scummy.

    E. I don't prefer to camp, but whatever works.

    F. Your fun is not my problem.

    A) Yep it works alright

    B) Camping isn't easily countered, especially for the guy on hook unless you come into the game with specific loadouts prepared

    C) It's not that legit tho is it. You hid and waited for people to come and die rather than putting any work into killing or chases.

    D) You probably consider facecamping legitimate and don't think thats scummy.

    E) Sure you don't

    F) nope I never said it was your problem I just can't fathom how you can get any yourself

  • I love the way their maps are broken so instead of fixing them they delete perks. The point of balanced landing is it's harder to pull off than lithe or something similar as there are less opportunities however in exchange for the slightly less help it gives you it's exchanged for a faster, better landing which we have now lost

  • @Awakey said:

I'm just going to say learn to camp. It works wonders on SWF, because someone will always save, even if you're there. Just saying.

Ah yes play a scummy way that causes an unenjoyable experience for survivors just because you have the feeling and aren't even sure if they chose to queue with their friends. Honestly, camping then getting a free kill and rehooking... How can you find that fun enough to drag a whole game out with that method?

This is what Peanits tells us and he´s right BUT.....

When finally the Devs rework the Ranksystem ? We are waiting and waiting...and all we are hearing is "soon"

In my opinion SWF is a cool feature, but then Killer´s must listen (if he/she plays an swf match). A good example is: More and better Rewards if killer´s start to playing matches against SWF. Because its harder to make a Victory. A Hardmode would be awesome too. No offering no perks...or better rewards for survivor´s if they playing solo. I don´t know but something must happend. ( Don´t forget: Dead by Daylight is a 4 vs 1 and balance will be never happend. So, stop asking for it..... )

Sry for my bad english grammatic

    Greetings

If your suggesting that SWF be rejected from taking any perks your literally just removing a massive gameplay element. Other than the perks that just change stats perks can make the game alot more interesting/fun so removing features for playing with your friends is ridiculous and not what this game needs.

Not only that but I'm pretty sure SWF isn't the minority of players, destroying it like that would likely cut down the SWF players by at least 30% and say that they are already 50% of people who actually play, that's 15% of players gone. 15% of players lost will also average out to around 15% of their revenue lost and subsequently it would just be a terrible business decision

  • @Blueberry said:

Because you havn't played the game enough yet to understand the games balance issues. That's why the killer complaints seem confusing to you.

I may not have played for 1000s of hours but 390 hours has easily given me enough time to determine the systems bounds. Some killers are underpowered and I agree but the amount it's exaggerated by is ungodly and my main point is that killers mains act on this forum act like they don't cry but they do it all the time (not all of them ofc but the ones that decide to voice their opinions tend to)

LMAO you must be joking stupid survivor main we have to play the game perfectly to pip. You can play however you want and still win

I don't see how a pip in a system that is utterly flawed is considered as a win.

I rarely look at my pips, as a survivor if I double popped and didn't escape that's a loss to me. If I didn't pip at all and escaped, well I'd consider that a win.

I tend to find survivors are more fun when you outplay the killer but an unjust killer can bring a whole load of problems to the game that just make it really boring like tunneling.

If I get tunneled and die instantly that is maddening. If a survivor throughourly outplays me as killer and is toxic I can move onto another if it's taking to much time, it doesn't make the escape impossible... and either way I'm likely to get them in the end yknow

  • How is it fair because lore. That's such a stupid point. I can't speak for dbd killers in terms of power so I'll give an example in terms of another game: Overwatch.

Reaper can't actually die in overwatch lore, tracer can manipulate her time as much as she wants without cooldowns. Junkrats just a guy that shoots bombs. By your logic in-game reaper should be immortal and junkrat should be alot weaker in comparison to the point it's not even fair. If you balanced around lore most games out there would be a catastrophic mess

People in general blow stuff way out of proportion. There's honestly this crazy negativity "culture" where people see a change and instantly start freaking out that it's just the tip of the iceberg, combine that with people completely embracing their own negativity bias with no self-awareness whatsoever ("I ONLY go against 4man death squads!", "EVERY killer I go against tunnels with a mori!" and so on) and you have a recipe for pure garbage.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/855097#Comment_855097

I'm by no means going to deny the OP is needlessly divisive and contributes to the pointless us vs them garbage, but there's no need for the whole "You disagree with me? You must be one of "Them"!" mindset. Killers and survivors alike aren't a homogeneous hivemind.

Eh I'm mainly just asking for everyone to stop complaining in a little rant. I think it's better for the forums to make actual proper suggestions rather than the same recycled mess. I know that all killer mains aren't the same but they truely do seem like a hive mind on here.

but they ALL have the right to make those posts and discussions

Yup they have the right to discuss their options which are mainly complaining about others opinions so therefore I have a right to discuss my opinion and complain about them :)

Let's be honest here Devs listen to money and when they see that survivors ( money ) don't like the game and DC will try to fix because one toxic survivor will bring more money to the game that 10 killers. As a killer, you can't DC every time you see a map you don't like or perks your hate because if you do this Devs will only see a baby killer just ragequit. No matter what we say about legion, nurse, spirit.... will make Devs listen and try to fix them because if 20 % of the survivors main say it ok then it's ok. Killers are made with a skill level that when you reach it you can get better no matter what ( i max out with hag) but survivors are so simple that they don't have one and that's why every survivor can win against any killer without perks. So can we stop it now because Devs will never hear killers main and they will do the minimum to keep killer in the game if you don't have fun or you can take any BS just stop playing the game it the only thing you can do in order to make Devs listen to you.

Note * I like to see the forum and see how far Devs go with every patch.

    Thank for your time

Well I haven't read the rest of your post yet but your wrong. 1 survivor is worth more than 10 killers money wise? No way, killers haul in way more money than survivors because when you want a new killer it actually costs a fat sum and I'm sure it's alot rarer for people to buy a DLC for a survivor and I'm pretty sure that's where most the money comes from.

You might be right about survivors on a whole being more worth it than killers but that's because there are alot more survivors. Killers themselves will be raking in more money on a per person basis

  • @jakesotto said:

I had this random idea and I wanted to just hear the communities opinion and to be open minded to each others points of view on it.

What if we limited SWF to 2 players per group and left SWFs with 4 players to a kill your friends. It seems to me that a lot of balance problems with the game revolve around 4 top tier survivors going against a single killer because survivors have such a high skill cap, aswell as the amount of communication survivors have with one another.

For example, if in a 4 man survive with friends one person is using object of obsession and communicates where the killer is at all times then its 4 people constantly knowing where they are while the killer can only see one of them. This level of communication gives a big edge.

In my own personal experience as queueing in a SWF with just me and one of my friends who are decent players at the game I've felt like the games were more fun and balanced. (We also don't communicate with mics). We are both red ranks. I could tell the killers had more fun playing against a balanced team and we all got an equal amount of points.

To conclude I also think if this change were made it would make sense to balance other aspects aswell to adapt to this dynamic, considering it essentially puts a skill cap on a survivor team.

I dont feel insanely biased about this being implemented I was just curious how other people feel and wanted to put my personal experience out there.

This is such a bad idea I'm half expecting you to come out and say 'joking.' the only fun part about this game for many people is playing with their friends, take that away and I along with half the playerbase disappears

  • It's sad because they have made the game in a way that makes it seem like you can win as a survivor by not suriving, sure you may have done well but I like to think unless you achieved your goal and actually survived it was a loss.

  • In an ideal game gens can be done that fast. In an ideal killer game a killer can kill everyone if they are potatoes in under 3 minutes anyway. It's extremely rare in either scenario. I'm a killer and survivor player so I know both sides of the coin. On killer I predominantly play Spirit, Huntress, Myers and Pig. I 3-4k most of the time and I'm by no means a god. Some people need to get there facts right

  • Rin may be fueled for revenge but you have to consider the fact that even with what happened chances are she didn't just straight up kill everyone else out of spite. She was likely tortured for an eternity by the entity and enslaved into doing it's bidding, killers can't simply reject the entity because they no longer have a reason to do what they do. Most of them just become so scarred by all the torture that they do what the entity says, I'm pretty sure Rin works the exact same

Hi everybody How are you? I just had a match with the shape against a SWF team, while I was searching both I saw them and a Claudette rapid clicked with the flashlight then both ran to the hatch (both with keys according to the post match screen, odd because I saw in the lobby that one of them had a flashlight instead of a key).

So I was thinking in this rework

    • It takes 20 seconds (like an exit gate) to open the hatch with a key.
    • After using the key, the owner automatically will jump into the hatch (like now)
    • If all the generators are not powered then the hatch will open just for the key owner but won't trigger EGC (because EGC triggers when the hatch is closed)

    What do you think?

Dont sugarcoat it and call it a rework as if things are worked around. That would just be a straight up complete nerf (I only really agree that it taking time could be good for the game but not nearly 20 seconds, just enough so survivors can't do it midchase and do a fat tbag

... SELF CARE IS NOT A GOOD PERK

Don't even try to tell me it is. At brown ranks (15-20) maybe. But if you are green, purple, or god forbid red, and I see you running self care at anything lower than 10 I immediately know you are the most boosted animal to walk the planet.

"But it allows me to have full health to go in for a save" "But it allows for a safer escape when fully healed" "But being injured makes noise"

None of those are good reasons to waste time healing with self care. If you are that concerned with being injured. Bring a medkit. Or bring inner strength.

Self care heals take 24 seconds. 50% speed on a 16 second action makes it take 24 seconds. A brown medkit does it in 16. One heal. But you can bring addons for that, or a different medkit.

If you arent playing claudette and running self care that means you either

    A) have claudette leveled high enough to get self care, or

    B) got it in the shrine

Do option A with Nancy (if you have the dlc) or just get it in the shrine. Inner strength is an 8 second heal at tier 3. Half of a base heal.

Self care is a bad perk because it wastes way too much of a survivors time in a match with them using it to heal over the gens. Gens take 60 seconds. Self care time is almost the same as getting half a gen done. As a killer, I love people who run self care. Because I know they are too concerned with healing themselves they will waste time over doing gens and I can keep more pressure on the map after just smacking them once and getting 24 seconds of no gen activity from that person.

Self care is NOT a good perk. In fact I would say it is the worst perk due to the number of people who use it and spread the belief that it is a god-tier survivor perk. Causing more people to run it and waste gen time by sitting in corners healing because they are scared of taking a hit and actually learning to run the killer around for more than 5 seconds before getting downed.

The one time self care is good. Is in a build with Botany Knowledge, Streetwise, Self Care, and We'll Make It, while running a ranger medkit. It gets used for item efficiency at that point and keeps that ranger medkit in your inventory longer.

Overall point of this. Stop thinking self care is good and that sitting in a corner slowly healing yourself is a good idea for you or your team. It isn't. Just do gens, and bring a medkit if you are afraid of running a killer or taking a hit.

    Ok boomer

  • Yeah but if they are bad a bad killer they don't deserve a 4k and the point OP made is irrelevant

6 or 7 games is an hour.

If you can't play an average of 1 hour a day you probably shouldn't complain about grind you're barely playing of course it'd be a grind.

1 hour a day is what the devs were aiming for also.

What are you even on about. Even whilst playing survivor queuing for 6-7 games alone can even take more than an hour and that's ignoring the time it takes to play the games... Your just one of the people that sucks off any developer of anything they like without giving any constructive criticism but taking all on their behalf acting like genji trying to deflect it.

  • I sometimes think almost all the killers on these forums have never played survivor before. I really feel like as a newbie killer is the more enticing role so you never see it from the survivors side.

When you get camped on the hook and have a 0% chance of escaping suddenly the killer has knocked you out of the game from finding you once, it's not like it's something you should get punished for because unless your a god or the killer is a potato it's unlikely you will escape them, it's more the amount of time you buy your team before you go down so how on earth would it be fair to be dead just because the killer happened to see you first.

When you get put on the hook suddenly you don't have a chance to win if the killer tunnels, not even with skill, you could be a much better player than the killer but get killed. Other survivors will end up doing gens where the game is no where near as fun because it loses the tension of oh the killer is coming. Also how the hell do you find it enjoyable to camp or tunnel? It's not fun because it removes half the challenge from the game and makes killer way to boring, killer is fun because you outplay people with chases, not because you press M1 twice after a short delay and just procede to stare at your screen whilst waiting for the survivor to die...

  • How in ######### name would that be fair. It's already bad enough for survivors if someone kills themselves on a hook or gets tunneled to death. Not only would they make tunneling a much bigger problem than it is but it would also make the game near impossible after your first kill if the survivors have only finished, say 3/5 gens.

This is a completely ridiculous idea and I don't see how you don't understand that a killer killing a survivor benefits them because suddenly there is less survivors left to complete any of their objective

  • Did I miss it anywhere or did you fail to mention it? It's really annoying like those trailers for games that get your hopes up and you click on it and realise it's obviously a concept.

It's just annoying that you don't think to mention it anywhere

  • @vVNootnootVv said:

Yes, indeed. This is why Leatherface exists. After some bad games as survivor (worst teammates you can imagine, camper), I usually decide to play Leatherface. After your first hook, just stand next to him with your chainsaw charged. No way he can escape. Usually, someone else tries to rescue him, which results in you chainsawing him down too. It's such a satisfying felling to know you just made someone maaadd. Also funny when you dm you, saying you're an @sshole. This makes me forget about my survivor game. Again, this is why Leatherface exists

So you get upset about having bad games as a survivor and hence you go into a killer game and facecamp meaning a totally random person has queued for ages only to play a literally impossible game...

If the survivors are being dicks I get it but just because your aggy that it's ALWAYS the other survivors and not you your going to ruin the game for at least 1 random person?

The Totem system in general is bad and should be totally reworked.

Even if they were to "make totem spawns better" there is literally nothing to stop experienced Survivors from learning all the possible spawn locations. Changing totem spawn locations literally only affects newbies.

Yeah however you still have to actively look for them, even when you know the locations, with this you just naturally find it by going to fix a gen

  • How old are you?

You can't even use basic punctuation, let alone grammar yet you tell others to stop crying whilst your still being breastfed?

As a person who plays half survivor and half killer AND has spirit as his main killer I can safely say that your delusional. Spirits powerful sure, but most people don't complain that she is massively overpowered, they really mainly complain about prayer beads as they are downright broken (as opposed to the pink ultra rare glasses add-on that completely sucks)

I honestly can't tell if your trying to taunt a reaction out of players by telling them to stop crying on a public forum or doing what the more likely thing of just being yourself. With everything you have stated it's a wonder who boots up dead by daylight and plays it for you... Is it the man on the TV? Because I'm pretty sure your mental capacity would be vastly exceeded by the very thought of playing yourself, you. Maybe if "you'D" stop being such a ######### stirer on the already toxic dbd forums you could work on improving your social skills? Just a thought.

  • You don't DC cuz it's unfair to killers but you still ######### making it nigh impossible to win for the other survivor? like even if you aren't great against him at least you buy a partial amount of time or get some gen progress done, whenever I see someone disconnect I always lose hope, I'll still try my best but I know in all honesty (assuming it's the beginning of the game, I don't get people who insta DC after getting mindgamed and downed for first hook)

  • Your complaining way too much, do you really expect them to implement it in 2 years when it is 100% polished?

I am personally finding it way better as I'm not getting super high ping servers anymore, even as a killer its way nicer because queue times seem to have dropped and I find myself landing in already full lobbies sometimes.

Sure some off the hits have felt a bit off but they always do with dead by daylight and I believe the negatives that come with it at the moment far outweigh the negatives that come without it, furthermore it can be advanced and debugged much much more quickly on live servers and they have left plenty of testing and fixing since it first reared its head on the PTB so I think they have left it plenty of time to roll out

  • @EldritchElise87 said:

Honestly so? its not meant for casual players, its only a couple hours a day, and I know a lot of us will play 100 hours in 70 days easily.

If you play this game consistently, and its your main hobby/game, you should have no issue hitting it. If you don't play that much, well it isnt really for you. Its for those of us who unlocked every perk and P3ed everyone we wanted years ago, and obsessively consume everything dbd related we can.

In all the games I've played with a battle pass are all easily achieved by consistent playtime (fortnite, rocket league and destiny 2). This follows the fortnite formula where u can rebuy it next seasons so casual players like me thought its just a one time investment because you can just reachieve but I'm sure glad I found this thread to set me straight.

And yes, it's a battlepass, its meant to be for casual players, not just complete sweats

  • I remember when I started this game with friends I questioned why you would ever play survivor alone as killer was so much more enjoyable when you don't have a clue how the game works.

I quickly changed though and if I am playing alone (where the enjoyment is still nothing like playing with friends) I'll often choose survivor over killer now as I just find killer way to stressful.

And man, you couldn't be more right about people who DC when they get downed, it's the worst when Ur doing good, 3 gens left, one guy gets outplayed and rage quits, suddenly you go from having a nice advantage to a nasty disadvantage

    - A rank 6 survivor and rank 10 killer (killer deranked from rank reset)

  • @Xboned said:

It really is a different world.

People always say "play both so you can see both sides", there is some merit to that. I feel like I can understand some of the survivor rage a bit better. I can see firsthand how annoying camping is, how frustrating bad/selfish teammates are, and why certain killers suck to face.

It's interesting how my attitude changes. As killer, I am SO SICK OF LOOPING AND PALLETS. It's not fun to run in circles around waist-high obstacles or eat pallet after pallet after pallet. As survivor, I feel like a boss every time I loop the killer for more than a few seconds. My attitude about pallets goes from "I hate these and wish they were removed" to "TASTE THE WOOD!"

I also find it much more relaxing and enjoyable to play, for the most part. Doing gens and totems is downright peaceful compared to the stress of "must be hunting every moment, can't waste a single second". The most frustrating thing, honestly, is teammates who DC at the drop of a hat. Knowing the game will be that much harder, the dread of a slow attrition loss.

I also get why survivors hate NOED so much now. Escaping is worth so many BP, and survivor side is definitely short on those compared to killer (why?), so doing everything right, risking death multiple times to rescue teammates and do gens right under a killer's nose, just to be tagged and insta-downed right at the end is... pretty lame, I have to say.

I played about half a dozen games of survivor, solo, only escaped once. Still had a lot of fun, though. Rank 19-20.

Played 1 game of killer afterward. Stressful, annoying. First time I've ever DCed in a match. Rank 7. I have no desire to go back and play until rank reset. Even then, I'm not sure.

While I feel like I'm beginning to run out of steam for this game in general, I definitely had way more fun playing survivor than killer. I'm not ready to declare myself a survivor main just yet, but it's nice to be on the other side of the pallet for a change.

Anyone who got through the wall of text and has advice for a newbie survivor is welcome to share it. I've been playing David King so far, mostly for WGLF and Dead Hard.

I also tell killers I loop to taste my wood

Ebony moris on their own are not unbalanced. It's the killer's choice how to use them, and is the one offering that gives them the power role, since survivors can't afford to make mistakes for once.

An instaheal was a let a survivor have their fun.

By your logic an instaheal will only be toxic if you chose to use it toxicly.

I understand a nerf was needed but personally believed (as someone who plays killer at least 50% of the time anyway) that the pink one should do what the purple one does on live and the purple one should do what the pink one does on the PTB.

Now I've read your comment and just don't understand a thing, you use moris to instakill people way earlier than you should. You nearly don't stand a chance against a killer with an ebony mori and if they don't get a 4k with that (or a 3k with a hatch escape) they are just ######### and that's the honest truth. The survivors need to be 10000 times better than the killer to even stand half a chance against that bullshit.

Instaheals on the other hand aren't that bad other than the odd pink insta revive from floor which needed to be nerfed as I said already. When I play killer and I go against some instaheals I still tend to do fine against them and they don't impact that game that much and are fun to use but as a killer I now don't use any of my pink moris as it removes all challenge from the game and makes it to easy and for survivors it makes it to frustrating and hard. Moris totally sway the balance and make the game infuriating, you can't use a Mori in a fair way other than maybe a green mori but even so the first person to be found will usually be unfairly removed and the other survivors will have to deal with a difficult 3 man game
