Reverting it would be fine by me. It could be an event called something like "Turn Back the Pendulum". Would be pretty nice. They would reset everything to the day Nurse came out, meaning everything completely broken would be in the game, the bloodweb would be pre-rework, and obviously, most of the killers wouldn't be there. The only modern thing they'd have is crossplay.

This event could last for maybe a month or so, and would give dedicated players a chance to earn legacy, and people like me to get it back.

It's a fun idea, definitely. I wouldn't mind that. Although, I just am personally doubtful that they would do that as it seems like a lot of hassle for them and it could mess up some things in the game when the event finishes.

  • I think that the cooldown for DS should pause if you are chased or downed. This way DS will stay in play until you are in a safer situation, presumably away from the killer. It would also force a lot of killers to take the stun. Although, others would probably slug to counter this, but that's ineffective for them and it is a lot easier to pick a slugged person up as a survivor, if the killer is staying nearby, compared to when they are hooked.

However, I do not think that problems like tunnelling will ever be solved so long as the devs continually rely on perks as the answer. They have implemented many perks to dissuade tunnelling and camping but none have been effective. They need a find a way to change the gameplay itself, instead of forcing survivors to waste perk slots and bring something that might not even come into play, if the killer just waits it out, and doesn't actually stop the tunnelling (since most killers will just chase you straight after you've used DS).

Its not fair on US that we lost our legacy.

I'd be fine if they reverted it again, so that I could get back my Nurse legacy. As long as the people who lost it can get it back, it's not unfair unless there's another way, which there's NOT.

I'm genuinely sorry that happened and I wish that you could get it back. That doesn't change my stance though, I think the only way to make it fair to earn would be revert it and that's not going to happen, which is unfortunate for those who lost it, but not for those who didn't earn it. I truly wish there was another way to give back legacy to those who lost it without removing its significance in the game. Which is what would occur if everyone could just earn/have it.

Should survivors get a free DC if ruin lasts longer than 5 minutes?

Honestly, you've hit the nail of on the head with this comment. This is the exact logic of the original question.

If killers can DC from losing hexes then survivors can DC when playing against them. The perfect way to never have to play a match with hexes again, and since most killers run hexes, very few matches will ever occur.

But just saying "dont run them" isnt a solution. Survivors can run very strong perks at no risk at all. Sure you have to walk/stand still for 60 secs but thats not alot of time. So to think that one role has that liberty and one doesnt is just not good. But ofcourse no changes to that will never come since new players dont struggle with that. The game is balanced around newbies after all.

There are other good perks, that aren't hexes for killers. Examples include Pop Goes The Weasel and Discordance (if you want gen-based ones). However, if you really want to run a hex then run another that protects it like Undying or Thrill Of The Hunt.

Also strong survivor perks always come with some form of drawback or risk - like DS has a timer and a very small skill check that you have to hit (that is if it even comes into play), Iron Will requires you to be injured, and therefore more vulnerable, and exhaustion perks have a cooldown, and so cannot be used all the time. Plus, killers have perks and add-ons that counter many survivor perks (for example Stridor negates Iron Will and Blood Echo, along with some add-ons, make survivors exhausted). So no, one role's perks do not have no risks/drawbacks, they both do, just in different forms.

  • I actually like the concept of the Twins and think that they could have been a fun killer, if the community didn't use them the way they do. Unfortunately, their power encourages camping, which is incredibly unfun, and means that almost all Twins you go up against will camp and tunnel you.

Im not saying they should give it out. Im saying make it earnable. Even if we have to earn it the same way as before.

It won't be possible to earn it the way it was earnt before because the bloodweb is way less grindy than it once was and the devs aren't just going to change it back just so people can earn legacy. Plus the grind would just anger people, like it once did.

Can we please just let players who earnt it have it and stop trying to take away their reward. It's not fair on them.

To be fair the devs also said a lot of things. I also think that if there is enough of an uproar that decision could change.

In this case I do not think that the devs would change their minds. It would just disregard the time and effort that 2016 players had to put in to level and progress.

I recognise that event cosmetics also had to be earned, but it was much easier to do this than what players had to do to earn legacy. I personally didn't like the fact that they released the cosmetics because I worked for them, but I'd be way more upset if they planned on giving out legacy because I definitely did not earn it nor deserve it.

Besides that doesn’t even look like a legacy skin I’ve seen them online that looks more like it could be a event skin or something cool but not a legacy I mean I could see there being a glyph event where there’s 3 colours of glyphs in a map each having a drawback but if you escape or kill all 4 after grabbing one a set number of times you get the skin ( 2colours a blue or green one depending on what one you want and a red one for killers)

I mean fair enough if they release an event skin similar to this, but it should not be called legacy or have anything to do with it. Although, if they were to do an event tied to glyphs, I don't think that the cosmetics created for it would look like that and I don't know if I would want them to if people would just view them as legacy.

I find it confusing why people still ask for it even though the devs have said that it will never come back and it would be very unfair to bring it back.

  • I don't think legacy cosmetics should be given out in any capacity. I say this as someone who does not have them. I don't think it's fair on those that had to grind for ages in 2016 when it was very very hard to level up and progress in the game.

Legacy cosmetics were given out as a reward for people's dedication to the ridiculously grindy bloodwebs, which we no longer experience. So it is not fair if we are suddenly just allowed to have them and earn them.

  • I think Main Event needs help. His base power is fine, it works well. It's just the Main Event is kind of useless and rarely comes into play.

  • The build I run with For The People is:

Empathy (so I know where my injured teammates are and can prepare to save them if they go down).

Resilience (to speed up my actions when I'm broken after using the perk).

We'll Make It (because my build is based and healing and saving people).

This is not the best build it could be. If you want the build to be more useful overall than an exhaustion perk could be ran in We'll Make It's place or Iron Will so you're quiet when broken and can hide.

  • If the Leatherface is revving and face camping then there is literally nothing you can do. You just have to do gens and leave. But if you manage to save them, try and get him to chase you instead or run perks like Borrowed Time. If they are really committed to tunnelling a specific survivor then go back to my do generators suggestion because that's all you have left to do.

  • I've never seen this occur. It's more common for me to see killers say a group of survivors are SWF when they're not because they are upset that they lost to solos.

  • No. I think that's a bit of an overreaction. In my opinion if you run a hex perk then it is a risk from the start. It may stay in all game and you might receive it's benefits. But it also might not. That's just how it goes.

Hex perks are a risk for a potential reward. You need to be aware of this when you run one and if it bothers you that much then choose different perks.

  • Prove thyself does not need nerfed. It is fine how it is. If you are concerned about multiple people on one gen (which is less efficient that everyone on separate gens) then run Discordance to counter it.

  • I've never really ran Lightweight so my opinion may not be entirely accurate. I think that Lightweight is only useful when running it with other perks that affect scratch marks and sounds. But it can definitely be helpful.

  • His lunge range is the same as all killers. It just appears deceptively large due to his small size and the animation.

  • I think this would be a great way to help reduce the imbalance between SWF and solo survivors. It would make solo survivors much more reliable.

  • I don't think killers should be banned from certain perks because that seems somewhat unfair.

However I do think that some perks need changed to make them fairer. Like Stridor. It should not be able to negate the effects of Iron Will, simple as that. I personally find it really unfair when killer perks negate survivor ones. Killers are already the power role in this game, their perks do not need to overpower survivor's ones as well.

  • 2nd or 3rd one. I'd save the first for the Holidays.

    Really? This lame argument again?

Pennywise would play nothing like Clown, and he visually looks nothing like Clown.

Plus we already have Hillbilly/Leatherface and Myers/Legion/Ghostface, so it doesn't matter how visually similar a potential licensed killer would look to existing killers. Certainly not one as iconic as Pennywise.

Also you can't say an Xenomorph couldn't fit when the game already has an Xeno homage in the form of Demogorgon in the game. Plus we're about to add a giant mutant to the game and have Doctor. Sci-fi horror is already welcome in DBD.

I never said that neither would happen, just that I personally think that it's unlikely. I recognise the presence of killers with similar powers, so Pennywise may come, I don't know. I just don't think another clown is needed, because they will both look like clowns, regardless of power. Unlike the killers with similar powers that all look very different. Yes, they may look like different clowns and have different powers, but they are still both clowns.

Alien-wise, I'm not sure how the power would work and I'm personally not interested in seeing a killer like that since I don't particularly like sci-fi. I wasn't bothered about the presence of Demogorgon either and don't think that he entirely fits. But that's just personal preference.

At the end of the day this post was about people's opinions, and those were mine. Pennywise and Alien are not things I particularly care to see and I don't see coming.

  • I don't see Pennywise coming to DbD since we already have the Clown and it will seem overboard to have more than one.

Regarding Alien, I don't know if it will happen, it might. Although, I think that it may not fit the overall aesthetic of the game. That's just my personal opinion though.

It's... really easy. Literally just be decent at being chased around a jungle gym and main building and you've got it.

with the way i usually play i avoid windows a lot in chases, i don't trust them! so this one is difficult for me with high ranks

Fair enough. I can understand that. I think you'll just have to make sure that you are on a map that you are comfortable on and try to use as many windows as possible (or use dropped pallets that are safe if you would rather, like those at pallet gyms and jungle gyms). My suggestion for relatively safe windows to use are those at jungle gyms and killer shack.

  • I mean, it is definitely do-able. Just have to run the killer well and hope that the map you are on is a good one for the challenge. I've definitely seen worse challenges.

  • Queue times seem to vary constantly. Sometimes killer queues are quicker than survivor ones. And sometimes it's the opposite. Recently survivor queue times have been quite long, which is annoying since I vastly prefer survivor. Hopefully, they become shorter soon.

Ah, my friend, if it was up to me his rework wouldn't have lasted an hour. And, judging by the threads here, this "uproar" would never take place.

Okay, well, it's not up to you. Also I have seen maybe two threads talking about old Freddy and you seem to be the most prominent poster on them both. So it's safe to say very few others appear to want him reverted.

  • @GeneralV said:

That argument is not exactly right, in my opinion. MoM was changed long ago for being broken, how many people want it back? Precisely, none.

Freddy on release was a very good killer, which demanded a unique playstyle, and extremely lethal when truly mastered. Complaints came from people who did not understand him, who didn't want to learn to play as and against him. Laziness, to put it plainly.

For many of us, Old Freddy was a beloved killer and we deserve him back.

    We need him back.

You can't say for definite that "precisely none" want MoM changed back - you don't know everyone's thoughts and opinions. I for one want it revisited because they trashed it.

Also regarding Freddy, it was mostly killer mains that asked for Freddy to be changed in the first place. With a lot of them having played Freddy and used his power. To say old Freddy was a beloved killer is a blatant lie since most people complained about him in his original state.

Plus, as I already said, have him back. Let him be changed. Just be prepared for the uproar of complaints again and him becoming a really weak killer. Because that is what will happen.

  • Honestly, I wouldn't particularly care for any of these. I think that a lot of them won't fit the game and I am not a fan of any of the ones that may potentially work.

SWF is too strong on survivors side too, but thats not going away

    Killers need advantages too

I agree that SWF can be too strong and something has to be done so it's fairer for solo survivors. But in most games it does not have that great of an impact.

As for killers, I don't think BBQ should be nerfed, it's in a good state - works well enough and can be countered. Although, to be fair, if it was nerfed killers would still have plenty advantages.

  • Yeah I agree. It's always frustrating when you're doing a sacrifice challenge and someone DCs.

  • As long as they sort out the head snapping around when crouching, I'd say new. Like please let this be fixed, it's so annoying.

  • Not going to lie, unless its the killer mains complaining, I highly doubt it will be changed. It seems that most change comes from killer mains complaining about something - not so much survivor mains.

I don't think BBQ needs changed - it's in a good state, with a counter being lockers and Distortion.

I’m not talking about how good he is that’s kinda irrelevant. What I’m trying to say is by completely reworking him they ######### over a lot of the people who enjoyed the old version by not giving them a way to play him again.

That's what happens whenever they change a perk or power. There will always be a group of people unhappy about the new change and wanting it to be reverted. But, with Freddy especially, that's not going to happen. In his original state he was very weak and the reason he got changed was due to the overwhelmingly negative response and complaints about him from killer mains. This will just happen again if he is changed back.

Personally, go for it, change him back, I'm all for easy games against a Freddy.

  • I always try to get myself chased whenever I haven't been hooked in a match. But I often find that the killer will ignore me in favour of someone who has been hooked (if they are not doing very well).

  • @PureHostility said:

    The lightburn is fine, honestly.

It adds something, more interactions between killer and survivor.

Burning a decent wraith is quite impossible if just completely impossible, it is extremely easy to dodge it by side stepping and making them miss their beam, hiding behind obstacles, circling around the survivor.

Keep in mind, if they try to burn you they do not gain any distance at all, you can dodge until they stop, you are semi hidden, you circled/dodged them long enough so you will uncloak faster than they can burn you.

Burning a nurse is extremely hard too and quite useless if you are the survivor who is being chased, as you will die on the next blink due to lack of distance gained. It requires two survivors to be semi valuable action, but said 2nd survivor literally needs to chase the killer who is blinking and catch them between blinks and not get downed soon after.

It is fine. More interactions are welcome, as long as they are not as devastating like old trap saboing.

If you think it is unfair, broken or unfun mechanic, please, try to elaborate why, as I don't really see the issue with it.

I agree with your points. Most of the time flashlights will not do much, especially against Wraiths and Nurses as the reward for burning them is not great enough compared to the potential cost.

The shrine (you have to wait) is useless just imagine your a new player and don't have the amount same stuff as other player you have a choice pay or grind/ wait

If you are a new player then it is likely that you will play with other new players who do not have lots of stuff as well. So it'll mostly even out, gameplay wise.

Yes, the grind on the bloodweb can be annoying sometimes, but it's not the worst and just requires you to play a bit. Actually, the grind on the bloodweb is in the easiest state its ever been in. Now you have rift and daily challenges, along with bloodpoint offerings, where you can earn a lot of bloodpoints in a relatively short amount of time.

Just like in every game, you have to put some time and effort in if you want good stuff.

  • I don't mind a Hag. The only thing I don't enjoy is that it basically turns into Crouching Simulator. I think some Hags are really fun to play against (those who place unpredictable traps or are really smart with them). But as always, there are some Hag players that just use her traps to camp and prevent people from ever being saved. Those players are the ones that make her unfun to go against.

  • You can unlock teachable perks in the Shrine of Secrets. So I don't really understand your point of "you have to pay for a character to unlock a perk".

  • I'm not sure what they need to do to make Spirit fun and counter-able, but something needs to happen. I am a firm believer that Spirit is easy to play and very unfun to play against.

I once saw someone suggest that, when phasing, the Spirit shows flashes of herself indicating where she is. I actually think this a good idea and could be used as a tool for killers to outplay survivors (and vice versa). It would take more skill for a Spirit player and would make it more fun for both sides.

Imagine that at a pallet, the Spirit phases and heads in one direction. Then a flash of her appears to the survivor. The survivor will run in the opposite direction to her, while the Spirit then double backs and meets the survivor. I think this is a very interesting idea for her.

  • @MadLordJack said:

So, you don't see why someone could be mad about tunneling, facecamping or genrushing?

Tunneling is the killer saying "######### you" to one survivor and making sure they die. Clearly there's a problem there that has nothing to do with efficiency, since even in a hook farming situation it's far more efficient to leave them on the ground.

Facecamping is another one that people insist is efficient, but it's truly not. That's not to say the killer should always leave the area, it's just that I've seen significantly more killers claim that facecamping a survivor in a deadzone with no gens is efficient than anything else.

Gen rushing is one of the scummiest things in DbD. It really is, it's just a full party going "you know what, I don't even want to try". Most of the time they're not even very good in a chase and just predrop pallets, because that's another huge ######### problem in this game. Unlike the other two, in which there are situations where they are the right play, the blame for this rests entirely on the survivors that do it. They are essentially players asking for "free win" buttons and recieving them on silver platters. I guarantee they're also the biggest critics of Spirit, Nurse and Blight, because those are the only three that can make it somewhat difficult.

TLDR: Playing efficiently isn't what people think it is, except genrushing which is also not what people think it is but for a different reason.

Gen rushing does not exist. The survivors only have 1 objective - to do gens. Unless the killer provides other incentives for them (like hooking/downing someone or running a hex perk) then survivors literally have nothing else to do. It is not the fault of the survivors when they complete their objective because a killer did not pressure gens enough or provide another task for them to do.

  • I think Iron Will is exactly where it needs to be. It only works once injured and can be countered by Stridor. It is only useful once you are more vulnerable to the killer anyway (down a health state) and if it is a massive problem, Stridor can be run to counter it, as I already mentioned.

As for the other perks, they bring their own benefits. So aren't completely comparable to the likes of Iron Will. I think it's personal preference as to which one a player will use and prefer.

  • I personally really like her. I think her cosmetics are amazing and her perks are great too. They had a dynamic to the game that wasn't really there before - a selfish survivor. Since most survivor perks revolve around chases or helping the team, it's nice to have these new, different perks. It makes it more interesting and fun, plus the perks can be very useful at times (especially Fast Track and Smash Hit).

  • I never used anything that would be censored before, and still don't. Although, I have seen a lot of other players still use censored words even though no one can see them. So I suppose it just depends on the player.

  • It is what it is to be honest, sometimes you will spawn right next to the hex and the killer will lose it early. But other times you could go the entire match without finding it. That's just how it goes with hex perks.

I personally think that it's a non-issue as hex perks are designed to be a risk for a potential reward. Yes it can be frustrating for killers to lose it so early on, but that's just what happens sometimes.
