It’s getting embarrassing if you still believe the next chapter is FNAF…

I'm sorry I have the same opinion as other people, however I don't feel I'm in the wrong.
I'm explaining why I love a franchise and want to see it in a game I love, you are just telling me how unoriginal my opinion is. It's fine if you don't want to see these posts because they repeat the same thing over and over, but I've stated that I'm not trying to participate in spam, I just want to express my opinion. I'm not listing reason why I want fnaf, I'm listing reasons that I want fnaf, AND trying to see why other people dislike fnaf. I just want to share opinions honestly with other people. I'm not trying to annoy you. I didn't make this post just to annoy people and contribute to spam.
I understand that may not have been your intention but that is what has occurred.
You could have gathered others’ opinions on a pre-existing thread but you didn’t, and since the opinions/ideas were the same or similar as those on other threads, you indirectly contributed to spam. Which led to many people getting frustrated with your post and it being less constructive than you intended it to be.
It’s just something to bare in mind for future posts and for other people who are making similar threads to realise as well.
-
Yes, I play by the logic that as long as I get at least a 1K I’m content.

You don't have to re-read them lol, just ignore them.
Well most people read discussions to engage in new, original conversations about a certain topic.
I don’t open FNAF threads to reread the same argument/ideas but that always seems to be the case.
Many people will click onto a newly created discussion thinking that a new, different idea has been presented, that they would probably be happy to discuss, but then they see that it’s the exact same as every other one and they just completely wasted their time. Do you see how creating new threads with the same ideas instead of adding to a pre-existing one annoys people now? Or do you still not get it?

Your opinion DOES matter. It's completely valid. We're just saying it could've been shared in one of the many pre-existing threads about the same topic. Trust me. I'd say the same thing regardless of topic.

Your “opinion” is known and has already been presented before as evidenced by the countless FNAF threads available. You’re not adding anything new to the table here. It’s the very definition of spam. Anyways I’m done talking since this thread will likely just get deleted soon anyways.
I completely agree. Seeing FNAF threads pop up constantly is very annoying, especially when the same ideas are presented every single time.
Please can people just add to pre-existing threads so we don’t have to re-read the same idea, presented in a slightly different format, over and over again, and so we can avoid the arguments that ensue because of it.
It’s just boring and irritating at this point.

Then keep scrolling. You can avoid them, it's not that big of a deal. They're not even clogging the forum, I have no clue why you guys make such a fuss about it.
I'm not going to add to the part about ignoring it, just about it clogging up the forums.
I personally have seen 3 different threads made, just today, about Springtrap. These 3 were only seen on the first page of discussions and I'd be willing to guess that there are more as you go along. I would also like to point out, I haven't been on the forums very much today so this is quite a lot to see over the short timespan.
Based on this, I can see why people would be frustrated by seeing the same discussion pop up often. It gets tiring to see, even if you don't click on it. Plus it doesn't help that often the same ideas are used for Springtrap, making them very repetitive to read and discuss. I don't think people would mind as much if they saw more varying ideas.
Also, I feel like that if there is already a discussion about a certain topic you want to talk about, you should just add to that one instead of having the same conversations across multiple. This would save people from having to re-read the same or similar ideas across multiple different threads and allow a wider group of people to discuss their ideas. It just seems like common courtesy to me. But maybe that's hoping for too much.

It's super kewl and awesome to hate on things that are popular.
In other words, it's mostly a circlejerk that people partake in.
Or some people just genuinely dislike it? I've personally never liked it as a game and don't think it's very good, or very well put together, which is why I don't want to see it in Dead by Daylight. I genuinely find it overhyped, massively.
However, I do understand the whole "bandwagon" mentality. For some people, it is trendy to hop onto things that others dislike and say they also don't like them as well. But I do think it should be recognised that this may not always be the case and people may actually just not like the game.

"I want it nowhere near dbd"
Yeah no one really cares what you "want" and the amount of posts about it today can agree with me on that.
So, based on this, why should people care if others want FNAF in the game, if "no one really cares" when someone doesn't want it?
Discussions of adding certain chapters to the game are a matter of wanting and not wanting, it's as simple as that. Everyone is entitled to stating whether they like something and want it in a game or not. It's just people stating their opinions.
-
I don't like FNAF at all and would not like to have a FNAF chapter in the game.
-
No.
-
I like playing as and against Trickster in his current state. I've had success and loss in both roles. He's fine how he is.
-
I don't mind Franklin's Demise normally, I actually don't see it all that often, but when I have a specific tome challenge to complete that requires me to use items it really irritates me. I don't even bring rare or strong items with me for the challenges yet I can't complete them because I'll get hit and chased for so long that when I go back to my item it's fully depleted.
My annoyance with it is more frustration than anything else. Franklin's Demise just makes item challenges irritating and take way longer than they need to.
-
The perk is fine, lets leave it how it is please.

They respond, and you immediately respond back. That's not 'done with it' if you're responding right away still.
I mean, @ImmersedNurse did not say they were done with it entirely. They just said they were going to paint their nails, and presumably come back, based on the lack of finality in their statement.

Again, upvotes lol. Many people have pointed out Orion being CONDESCENDING, yet nope that can't be true, it has to be everyone else other than Orion. The emoji use and the attitude in your responses alone shows what kind of person you are. You think you look cool when really you come acros has stuck up and childish.
What's with the xx, what a crank lol.
Okay so after reading all the discussions between you, @Orion and @ImmersedNurse it is very clear that you are in the wrong. I don’t understand how you still haven’t worked that out?
This all started because you insulted Orion, not the other way around. Yes, their comment about making your post readable could have been phrased a bit better but you took it to this petty, rude place by insulting their language skills.
As for your conversation with ImmersedNurse, yes they could come across as childish or rude with what they said but they were truly just matching what you said earlier.
I’d also like to add that your original paragraph is extremely hard to read. Most people are not going to read that. You’ve now had three people telling you they struggle to read it and you still won’t make it accessible so people can openly discuss your points with you? The Grammarly ads talk about wordy sentences and paragraphs being hard to read for a reason.

It's your opinion on whether of not you think he's scary. Not everyone shares your opinion. I personally disagree with you and there's those that disagree with me as well.
FNAF's lore is complicated but if we're basing it off the 3rd game then it wouldn't be that hard to put it together.
Okay, so a couple people are basing it off the third game? But what about those who don’t want it based off that one or disagree with the lore around it. There’s too much discourse around the story for it to work without people being unhappy with it.
When the lore has been fully established, and it’s correct, maybe ask for a FNAF chapter then, because I don’t think any dev team would want to deal with it until then.

Looks like a character that could work in DBD's environment.
Even if he didn't look scary, his background would be similar to that of Trickster. Sadistic serial killer who uses the screams of his victims for his music, and uses his kpop alter-ego as a mask of his true self.
By your logic, I can say that Trapper just looks like some big guy that got spikes stuck on his back. Maybe Billy is just some inbred. Or I can say that Bubba is just some fat guy wearing a mask that wields a chainsaw. But here's the thing: they have backstories. Springtrap is a literal child murderer stuck in a rabbit costume. If that isn't similar to how Billy killed his parents or whatever, then idk what to say man.
“My logic” was me pointing out that Springtrap is not scary whatsoever. He shows no strength over others and does not insight worry, let alone fear.
As for the other killers you mentioned, they’re domineering, they appear stronger and are clearly unnerving and unsettling.
Also at least the Trickster has a set storyline. The FNAF plot lines are one big mess, they’re so convoluted that it would be very hard for a backstory to be established in regards to tying both Dead by Daylight and FNAF together.

I still stand by what I said. That is way creepier than Trickster could ever be. Who cares if kids play FNAF? It's still horror and I think it would a great addition to DBD.
It’s some of the least “horror” horror that I’ve ever seen. I don’t think it’s what Dead by Daylight needs.
I respect that you don’t find the Trickster creepy, I don’t particularly either but then again I don’t find any of Dead by Daylight creepy. I just think that he is a really great interesting character with malicious intentions and that is shown within him.
As for why I care that kids play FNAF, if Dead by Daylight introduced a FNAF chapter it would encourage those kids to play DbD. Which would easily worsen the game and community in my opinion. To me, FNAF has became somewhat of a joke due to the community and mess of a story, it’s one of the reasons I will not take it seriously as a horror game. By encouraging kids to play DbD, we’d just end up with silly, childlike interactions and influences on the game. We’ve got enough adults who play the game that act like children on a daily basis. We don’t need actual kids on top of that.
I’d also like to add that the FNAF games are rated PG-13/12+. Dead by Daylight clearly isn’t. It’s for adults. The age ranges for the two games don’t fit. It also explains why FNAF is not even scary.
-
@glitchboi said:

There's obviously going to be children in there.
It's a horror game whether you like it or not, because it's literally in the horror genre.
And finally, Springtrap is literally a mangled corpse inside a broken Springbonnie suit. He looks absolutely NOTHING like those cosmetics. Just because he's themed after a rabbit doesn't automatically make him goofy.
So you're telling me this is scary. It's truly not. It literally looks like a teddy bear that a child played with all the time, causing it to become worn-out, and then dropped it behind the sofa where it stayed for too long to collect dust and hairs. Honestly, everything about FNAF was too overhyped.
And as for the horror genre statement, I never said it wasn't horror I just said that it barely was. Which I stand by. It might as well not be with it's fear factor, or lack of.
-
The amount of SWF that die all the time. Honestly, they're not invincible. There are very few try-hard SWF teams out there, but sure, yeah, lets ruin the game for people who just want to play it with their friends, just to punish certain people for being better than you.
-
@glitchboi said:
Honestly the FNAF hate bandwagon is what makes people think he can't fit in DBD, and it's really tiring.
FNAF is not a kids game, people need to stop saying that. Calling the game a 'kids game' because of your interpretation of the community is ridiculous. It's not a kids game, it wasn't meant to be one either.
Besides, the community has matured over the years, you can't just stereotype the community over a bunch of YouTube comments. The community wouldn't be an issue either way, DBD's community is already toxic.
Springtrap is the mutilated corpse of a man who is stuck in an animatronic rabbit costume. If that doesn't fit in DBD, then what does?
Yeah, the community has "matured" enough to bombard every twitter post, dev stream, etc about it. All I'm seeing is a too vocal minority.
Also FNAF might as well be a kid's game because you can barely even class it as a horror one. The most horror thing about it is the jump scares and they're not even that scary. Like, oh no robots that look like cuddly toys are after me!! Come on.
Along with this, the Clown's elephant costume looks ridiculous, as does the Legion's bunny cosmetics, we don't need more of that, even if they look more damaged and hurt.

And? A FNAF chapter would be fine. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be added.
"Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be added." Okay and? Just because you like it, or are indifferent to it, doesn't mean it should be added either. I'm not really seeing a point to your statement as to why it should be in the game. All I am getting is "well, why not?" which can easily be opposed by saying "well, why?". Why are there so many of these types of comments, they don't add anything or provide a good reason for a FNAF chapter.
Furthermore, I actually do agree with @MeatBycicle. FNAF is a kid-infested game, whether originally intended to be that way or not. Dead by Daylight isn't. We don't need to encourage loads of kids/teens to play DbD by adding a FNAF chapter. Plus, they would literally be adding teddy bear looking machines and costumes, like we don't need more animal-themed costumes in DbD. We already have the Clown's awful elephant costume which just looks ridiculous.
And before you bring up the Trickster, yes he may appear out of place in the game due to his bright cosmetics but he is a terrible person, a murderer and his appearance and backstory reflect on that. You can visibly see how unhinged he is in his eyes. Plus these differences make him stand out from the other killers, he is easily one of the most interesting ones. The animatronics and Stringtrap don't amount to that, they literally lack emotion and anything scary at all. They're just kind of childish, silly and quite frankly boring.
Moreover, there is no chance of a compelling backstory with them since the FNAF community hasn't even settled on what the actual, correct backstory/timeline of the game series is. It would be a nightmare to try and piece together. There's lots of different theories as to how the entire series pieces together. Which one do the developers go with? Because no matter what they pick there will be a group of people who disagree with it.

Read what? Springtrap and FnaF is a little kids game, no matter how much you don't want it to be. Majority of people don't want FnaF in this game, yet the same small group of FnaF fan girls keep making threads every week recycling the same topic. If you want to see Springrap, go play your little kids game. We don't want it, or need it in this game.
I'm only seeing facts in this comment.
-
They're definitely better than the old ones. I like the addition of bot games, definitely helpful and allows new players to have some game experience before even playing a proper match. Would be cool if you could pick a killer to play/vs but I don't think it's all the necessary.
-
They better extend it after this mess.

I was playing Trickster, picked up a crown and then didn't get it after the match. Annoying.

Okay I got ur idea. But maybe it could be 1 glimp that dures 1 second and instead of standing still, it would show the direction she is going. IN my head it looks like if the phase bond weakened and came back, you know what I mean?
If the glimpse spawned in as a standing still Spirit then it technically would already face the direction that they were travelling in.
It appearing like the phase bond weakening and coming back, as you said could be interesting to see.

Its what I said, 1 its very occasional, the 1 climpse should occur in a certain time, if it just occurs, it would be too bad, 1 glimpse is only to show if she is at your path or no, if only i glimpse, it could be if you can see the glimp just it happends in your field of view, and it remains for 2 seconds after occured. It would be kinda built in Premonition.
That's why a I think glimpses should occur in a set amount of seconds so the killer can keep track of when it'll appear. 1 glimpse that lasts for longer could be a good idea however.

Still, I think that glimpses break the element of surprise of her. As you said, there would be needed tons of experiments, and all the experiments with feedback of only purple and red ranks, because a baby dwight could corrupt the entire idea of experiment as he could say that 3 glimps are not enough and star breaking the entire idea of community feedback.
I feel like you'd need opinions from a range of ranks to understand how she works across the board. Otherwise she would be balanced based off only one group of people's views which may not work in actual gameplay settings.

The glimpses are kinda the opposite of what spirt does when not in phase? It would have add ons like the cherry add on?
The glimpses would be like when a Spirit stands still to phase. It would look like one of the animations that she does while phasing, just ghost-like.

I like your rework idea, but the glimpses rate is what catches me, its really difficult to balance the gimpses rate in a way that doesnt break her and still makes enough difference.
Yeah, I understand that. I think the best way to find out what would break her and what wouldn't would be through testing so an amount of glimpses can be the default. I think add-ons that change the rate at which glimpses occur are potentially viable if done in a way that doesn't make her too strong or too weak. There should always be at least 1 glimpse when a Spirit phases - I don't think that any add-ons should allow the rate to be changed in a way where they do not occur.
-

What I meant by not breaking her is bad, is because my idea of what glimpses were was breaking spirit, it was like a path that she let behind everywhere she goes, so it would break her, if it was not breaking her, it was not good enough for the survivors to be considered a spirit nerf. Can you understando what Im trying to say?
As a survivor main, I think that it would be enough. Plus I've had many people come in and tell me to call it a nerf rather than a rework because that's what it is so I think other survivors would recognise it as such and if they don't see the potential for both sides, then I guess that's on them.
As for the glimpses, no it shouldn't be a path that follows her, I hope my other responses proved that.

This question that I made was quote in your thread but I wanna know if in you idea yes or no
Hm potentially. It could be a thing. I think phase duration add-ons and glimpse frequency add-ons should be separate things though. So like one add-on would give you more or less phase time while another would allow you to have more or less glimpses.
Putting the two together into one add-on would overcomplicate it I think.

If it wouldnt break her, it is a bad ting, because the idea of glipses make her bad, and if it doesnt make her bad, it means that the glipses would have a enourmous delay that wouldnt work properly for the idea of glipses
I honestly don't understand why not breaking her is a bad thing and why the glimpses would have a delay? They wouldn't move, they'd just be like the Spirit standing there.

I don't think that glimpses would break her character - they would provide some much needed information to the survivors. The frequency and duration of these glimpses would obviously have to be tested and played with to see what would work and what wouldn't.
I personally think that one every 2 seconds would be fine if it didn't last for ages and was "spirit-like" in a sense (so it wouldn't be really easy or too hard to see). This is because her default phase time is 5 seconds so survivors would get 2 glimpses per phase which is just enough information for them and the Spirit would roughly know when a glimpse of her will appear so she can prepare for that and potentially mind game the survivor. It would still keep it as a kind of guessing game scenario around certain pallets and windows, but it would allow both sides to anticipate and prepare what they're going to do next. However, testing could prove that 2 glimpses per phase is too much or too little, which is why I think the idea needs to be tested before anything happens with it, like in a PTB (obviously I know that PTB excludes console players which is unfortunate but at least some of the community would be able to test and provide feedback).
As for increasing phase duration, I believe that can be done with add-ons so that isn't a large concern for me. If it proves that 2 glimpses are too much then longer phases or increased recovery or speed could be a potential solution. Testing would once again help indicate that.
Also her ability to see scratch marks and blood would remain the same so it would not completely change the Spirit that players are used to and know how to play. It would just introduce a new element to her gameplay that people would have to learn how to use. Additionally, it would mean that Stridor Spirit would be skilful as currently it is just an instant win for a Spirit and too many Spirit players rely on it too much.
To add to this comment, there could be an add-on where the Spirit can see where her glimpses are. I don't know how helpful this would be but I think it's a fun idea.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/255510/spirit-rework
The glimpses juse break the complete idea of the character, it would make spirit predictable and thats not what we want, there would be no way to counter pallet mid phase as survivors would have to just vault back the pallet back as he knows the direction you are going, it could be fixed by increasing even more the Spirit phase duration, recovery and speed buff, a good Spirit will get the wide turn to get you from the back of the pallet as you are probably gonna get there and drop the pallet to try to make her stop phasing and break the pallet. This brings up the problem that Spirit mindgames would be completely garbage and she would just be faster and have an ephemera that shows her location when on phase. Shw is a spirit, when she is on the Spirit world, she cant see anyone and anyone cant see her, her hearing pass throught the worlds so she can hear the survivor as well as seeng their scrathmarks.
I don't think that glimpses would break her character - they would provide some much needed information to the survivors. The frequency and duration of these glimpses would obviously have to be tested and played with to see what would work and what wouldn't.

The problem of Spirit counterplay is real, but how could it be fixed is my question.
Well why wouldn't you just ask that instead of your first comment on here being, and I quote, "Stop crying bro, this game is so easy for survivors. If you complain about that you are just a baby survivor." It just came across as you derailing the thread and not trying to be constructive whatsoever. thats how spirit tracks it will be the same on both sides. See heres the thing survivors are not use to using audio you'll now have a way to tell if she is using her power and the spirit player will need to be smart by avoiding the grass and listening to try and mindgame the survivor
I can see how this could potentially work, but I'm still unsure about it just because of the things I already mentioned. I think I'd have to actually see it in-game to fully understand it and try it out.
Would the footsteps be loud enough to hear over chase music? Because if not then they might not be very useful (for both sides).

Omg. Did you not see my other replies where I said that I had played the Spirit before. She literally requires no skill - you get all the information you need handed to you.
Also you're proposing a scenario that isn't really common and so is kind of irrelevant here. A lot of the time yes, a try hard 4-man SWF squad will outplay you, regardless of killer but that's not the discussion here and once again proves that you're just trying to derail the thread.
This will be my last reply to you since you've ignored me multiple times when I asked you to stop talking about irrelevant things. We are not discussing SWF balancing issues, we are discussing the Spirit and her power. You can make your own thread about how you think Spirit is so hard to play and try hard 4-mans are awful and unbeatable. Along with the disparity between console and PC Nurses, if that's what you want to discuss, because this thread is not the place for it.

I played as nurse on pc some games at my friends house, and I could get ruthless on all matches at r1, the thing is that if you wanna compare training nurse on console and nurse on pc, nurse on pc looses by a lot if we compare by training time, Spirit on console and nurse on pc are the most difficult to max and have a good feedback on each platform, if you nerf spirit, console players would just stop playing killer and play survivor, what would make the MM a lot slower as most players play on console. So if you wanna nerf spirit without changing her absolute gameplay and turn her garbage, change her add ons. It is an old argument from me but if you change her add ons in some way that survivor would know what timing they would have to use the pallet window or DH, it would be already a kind of counterplay.
I'm going to start ignoring you if you keep talking about irrelevant things - console Nurse and PC Nurse are not relevant to this. Either add to the suggestion about Spirit changes or propose another one.

I feel the only change spirit needs is light footsteps and grass to move while phasing anything more gives survivors too much information a change like this will make it fair on both sides.
If you're in a chase with her it might be hard to keep track of her, plus this would be less useful on indoor maps without lots of grass and if the footsteps are a noise then the chase music would overpower them. I do think it's an interesting idea however.

I play as Rank 1 survivor and it's really quite rare that I see a Hillbilly.

Why dont you talk about nurse? She is lot better then spirit, I play on console and Im a rank 1 spirit, I was already r1 survivor and I k that nurse on console is one of the worst killers so the option is spirit as freddy was nerfed as well. You guys from pc play as nurse, we on console play as spirit. Both survivors from Console and PC can form SWF so its not that different fro survivor view( Im not including macro cheaters as most of pc players dont use macros).
Because the Nurse actually requires a lot of skill to master and play so the issue doesn't apply to her. Although I do recognise that it's harder to play Nurse on console. Still, I have seen quite a few good console Nurses.
Also, once again, can you stop trying to change the conversation away from the Spirit into something that it's not. It's not about how hard Nurse is on console and it's not about any changes that have occurred to Freddy. It's about changing the Spirit so she's a more fun character and will actually require some skill.

As SWF I mean optimal team, not 4 baby dwights that are friends and justt started playing the game. And as that, whats the point of removing spirit or reworking? We should focus on nerfing things that are good on both sides. SWFs area pain in the butt for any killer, but its fun for the survivor, playing spirit is fun for the killer and unfun for the survivor, seems like its balanced here.
If you want to talk about survivor balancing issues about then please discuss it on a thread relevant to that. It is not relevant here and just derails the original conversation about the Spirit. Thank you.
Also many Spirit players think that she's easy, unfun and have said that they feel bad when playing her at times. Plus as someone who has played Spirit as killer, I think the exact same thing - she's boring to play and takes no skill, especially when running Stridor.

Yeah up votes legit doesn't mean anything. Just because people agree with you doesn't mean you're right, It doesn't take much critical thinking to figure that out :/. If all my friends came on the forum and up voted me does that make me right all of a sudden? No of course not. Why do i have to type things like this out man

You didn't really read what i said. Solo survivor should be buffed. But no matter how much you buff it you will get bad players on your team that ######### you over. And don't worry i'm not gonna try and defend game balance. I have lost games as killer where i have made some sub zero iq plays and i lose because of it. That isn't the game being unbalanced. The same thing will happen with survivor the only issue is you can have your team mates being the ones making the plays and ######### you over. Even if survivor was god like there will always be dumb and bad players that will cost their team mates.
I don't understand why you won't respect @ImmersedNurse's wishes and not use the phrase "man" when referring/talking to them.
It's basic respect. Get some.

Do you think this game is difficult to killers playing against swf survivors or swf survivors playing against killer? Who will suffer more from the match? Its the killer.
Depends on the SWF group. If it's a try hard 4-man SWF then the killer will struggle but in every other scenario it's harder for the SWF, especially when they are not a 4-man.
Also I'm confused about the relevance to this thread? Like it's not about which sides harder to play, it's about changing the Spirit because she is notoriously unfun for both sides. Can we focus on that instead.
