In my defense I was damn new to the game, less than 48 hours, than I thought it was a legendary skin for another killer, before accepting that that is his default skin.
Legions mask is scary compared to a neon suit
I guess fair enough since you're new. What I will say though is that I personally think that the Trickster looks more deranged and killer-like than the Legion. Who's mask I don't even think is scary or unnerving.
-
Yeah no.

"I'm a survivor main but I play killer too" I hate when people say this.
You realise that's an actual thing right. People can play both sides and can have a preference for one.

No those are special costumes, with a more menacing default skin, I thought trickster was a survivor when I first saw him
You thought he was a survivor? Are you joking? Nothing about him screams survivor.
Also I'd like to point out that the Legion is more survivor-looking than him so maybe you should complain about that instead.

he doesn't fit well in the game.
Neither does the Clown and Legion's animal costumes. Along with many other cosmetics, and characters, I'm sure.
What actually is your point? Sorry that a unique and flamboyant killer is such a problem for you.
-
Trickster is fine. He does not need to be deleted. He's not even classed as a strong killer. This is embarrassing.
-
Absolutely not.

The problem is, most of the time they just put it on an annoying spot that would make me waste more time than usual if I snuff it out.
Example the Totem inside the underground part of Badham School and the Totem on the 2nd Floor of the Asylum. This also applies to Midwich and the Game, multiple Floors and hard to get to.
Killers can snuff the totems on my examples but it would take too much time as 5 secs can be the difference of interrupting a Generator Pop
I understand that but at the same time, a killer's totems can be out the way and inconvenient for the survivor's to find. If they go looking for it, it may cause them to lose the match. I'd say for both cleansing and snuffing totems, it comes down to deciding whether it's worth it to leave it in or take it out.

You know nothing about the game then clearly you want it around broken as it is. Admit it and I would respect that. But your clearly bias.
You're just wrong. It's as simple as that. You clearly just want easy matches where you don't have to try at all. Boon totems add another element to the game that is fun, fair and interesting (for both sides).
I will say that I am a survivor main but I do play killer quite often and have a large interest in seeing this game balanced for both sides. I have also been playing this game for literally years so I happen to know a lot about it.

Killer is supposed to ruin your game and kill you, that is why camping is allowed there is nothing wrong with it. T-bagging is just childish but that's all it is. So t-bagging is worse since it has very little purpose.
You realise that Dead by Daylight is a game right? You're meant to have fun in a game. If, you, as the killer is actively trying to ruin someone's fun then you are at fault. As for a "killer is supposed to ruin your game and kill you", you are right they are meant to kill you and stop you from escaping but you are still meant to have fun. That's the purpose of a video game.
Camping is not fun, it's as simple as that. That's the reason why so many people have a problem with it.
As for t-bagging, to go by your logic, a survivor is meant to ruin your game and escape, so there's nothing wrong with it. If you get annoyed by repetitive CTRL pressing then it's served it's purpose. You see how it's a silly argument? Camping and t-bagging can both be seen as "childish" and having purpose.
-
The Hag is fine in my opinion. Although I don't love having to couch when against her, there is nothing inherently too strong about her ability.
-
Flashlight clicking really isn't that big of a problem. It's very easy to just ignore the survivor doing it.

Camping has given value for the killer. T-bagging at the exit gate has no given value, it’s equal with killer hitting survivor on his/her death hook. So don’t compare the two, cause they are different.
Just going to point out that I was the one that originally said the two aren't comparable. So I don't know why you're telling me not to compare them, when I'm not. What I am doing is pointing out the fact that one affects gameplay and the other doesn't, which is most likely the reason that there has been more efforts to prevent camping and not t-bagging.
Whether you believe that camping is fun and good or not is your opinion, I'm not going to get into that.

camping does not ruin a survivors match. Maybe don't get caught.
You realise that running a killer in a chase isn't so you don't get caught, it's to prolong the time they have to chase you so your team can do generators. "Don't get caught" is a terrible argument because a good survivor knows that they will eventually get caught, that's just how the game works.
As for saying that camping does not ruin a survivor's match, you are blatantly wrong but I'm not going to repeat myself with the reasoning because clearly you aren't willing to listen to it.

It does feel like a double edged sword though. Lets take DH for instance, Survivors will bend into origami swans to try and tell killers that it’s not over powered but killers will do the same thing to tell Survivors that it is.
I feel like Behavior really wants the two sides to fight more. I remember back when the meta was self healing after pallet drops. Seeing a survivor (Usually Claudette) do that actually conditioned me to Tunnel Claudettes as fast as possible. Maybe the Devs want that feeling back? Actually hate for the other player?
Don't get me wrong I'm all for balance discussions around certain mechanics/perks/etc but the problem comes when people have a really really skewed view because they don't even play the other role. It just leads to false claims being made about things that are actually fine.
Creating actual hate between the roles does nothing but worsen the community. I doubt the devs would want to encourage that.

Please guys, literally the worst thing of this forum by far is always seeing posts from people demanding nerf/buffs/changes for things that they find unfair or bad when they play only one role. Of course its inevitable to always be a little biased towards your main role, but one thing is that and the other thing is complaining about things you truly dont understand/only understand from one point of view. Im killer main but im talking about survs and killers equally. Also i recomend everyone to play both roles since this way you improve A LOT. For example i have always been killer main, but when i started playing as surv i was already somewhat acceptable, because this way you truly understand perks, skills, possible loops depending on killer, distance, map...
I agree. Quite a lot of people only play one role, which is fair enough but it often means that they don't know what balancing is like for the other side and get it wrong when they try and comment on it and request changes regarding it.
-
It would be cool to see more. I would also like it if there was something similar for some of the other killers. Not sure what, maybe a weapon or outfit inspired by the survivors. I think that would be fun.

Also farm and dashing all map then strike and nothing .
You're confident that it was at least 10 seconds?
-
It baffles me as well. I love how people will just complain and complain that the meta should change but then as soon as it does, they complain about that! I think people just want an excuse to whine and whinge when don't do well in a match.
-
Have you been in Demon Dash for at least 10 seconds before you hit the survivor? I think for it to register you have to hit them while in the same Demon Dash, after 10 seconds of being in it. Or did you hit them sooner? If sooner then that's probably why you haven't achieved it. But if you have then it may be bugged.

@Bennett_They1Them said:
Also, should distortion block killer instinct as well?
I wouldn't mind if it did to be honest. It would give the perk more use and variety.
-
K. Bye then.
-
I saw a thread created by @ImmersedNurse about removing perk tiers and honestly I think that it would be a great solution for reducing the grind on the Bloodweb. I understand the use of perk tiers when the game was originally made but now there's just too many perks for tiers to still exist and be viable.
As for the BP Events, I wish there were more. I really thought there would be one with the Halloween event and I'm disappointed that there wasn't. I hope that they add more BP Events in the near future, because the events feel like they're lacking without them.
-
It's balanced how it is. Both survivors and killers have ways to utilise the exits to their favour so it's fair. If it were changed then it would probably end up favouring the killer too much.

They are both toxic, which makes them both bad.
You're missing my point. Yes they are both seen as BM and toxic, but camping literally ruins a survivor's match, it actively prevents someone from engaging in normal gameplay. Whereas, t-bagging does not do this. That's the main reason that there is way more of a focus on stopping camping rather than t-bagging.
This is also why t-bagging is not really a problem at all.
-
Camping killers directly affects gameplay whereas a survivor t-bagging at the end of the match or after a dropped pallet doesn't. They're not comparable.
-
K. Bye.

I will admit that they are strong but I just don’t think they’re OP. I actually really like the gameplay around boons as it requires setup preparation and the survivor has to go out of their way to activate the perk. It’s also a new gameplay element which spices it up. Killers can also hear boons and it takes them just a second to break it. You will probably say that the survivor can put it back easily but they still have to spend time doing it.
I’ve felt like at least COH has a chance to be meta because of its nature in helping the whole team out which I’m honestly very glad to see because we need more variety in the meta. Maybe COH can be toned down a little where it decreases self healing speed but I think it’s honestly fine.
Finally someone who agrees with me. I strongly believe that boons are not overpowered and are really fun to play with/against. The time wasted by survivors putting them into the game reduces generator progress, plus they are really easy to find and remove as killer. So I'd say they're pretty strong but fair.
As for the meta comment, I also agree. I like that there may be some variety in the meta now. It'll make matches more varied and interesting.

Imo and as a Mikaela main i think circle of healing should be a passive thing for anyone who has not lit the totem. I.E survivors can go into the totem zone but 'Mikaela' has to be there to heal. If multiple survivors are in the zone 'Mikaela' can heal them all at the same time at a slower rate.
This way it would limit the amount of times survivors can heal in the totem zone and it would need a 'Mikaela' to go with them having potential multiple survivors in the one spot being easier for the killer to see and disturb.
It's Mikaela's perk so it should need her to be the crux of it.
No, this would not work and to be honest would just kill the perk.
-
Circle of Healing is fine. There is nothing wrong with it. Survivors literally waste time bringing a boon into the game, a good killer should capitalise on this. Plus they're really easy to find and take out.
If they're that big of a problem just run Thrill of Hunt or Undying.
-
Maybe get some more hours in the game and come back to this. Myers is not that bad.
-
I like the state that Trickster is in - in terms of playing as and against him.
-
It's really not that hard to take a boon out of the game. You literally get an audio cue when you're nearby. Boons are fine the way they are.
Also I'd like to point out once the new chapter hype has died down, less and less people will run them because they're not as good as the current meta perks.
-
It's fine the way it is. Yeah it's annoying when someone kills themselves on hook but usually it's for good reason.
-

I see what your saying, and agree than nurse needs a nerf.
Nurse does not need a nerf. The state she is in is fine.

You're overexaggerating. Killer is definitely not unplayable. Maybe you just need practice if boon totems are losing you the game.

You can't bait out deadhard for distance when near a pallet or a vault. Yeah it's easy to bait when you're in a deadzone but that's not where the power of the perk is, No-one is complaining about DH being used to actually dodge an attack,
I agree with the OP though, the moment I take off DH I am actually scared of the killer and any potential mind games since it does result in death.
I haven't used Dead Hard in my main build in ages. Safe to say I don't fear the killer without it.

two words. Jungle.Gyms.
next
If you can't outplay jungle gyms then you may need to practice killer some more. There are ways and means around it. For example, forcing a survivor to run around it the wrong way greatly reduces its effectiveness and the time they can spend at it.

There's a lot of survivor features that are whack by default, DH being one , nice try though, this is coming from a killer who doesn't rely on regression perks as you say
There's also a lot of killer perks that are "whack" as you say. There are strong perks on both sides that can affect gameplay so this argument is kind of pointless.

@YOURFRIEND said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2595759#Comment_2595759
Ah yes. The classic "BOTH SIDES!!!" argument. Pointless and ineloquent.
It's not equivalent because dead hard is in nearly every game and when it's not, you still have to behave as though it is. Killer perks have obvious tells. You don't know whether a survivor has dead hard until they use it to extend a chase. Even when it's not in the game you have to assume they do have it and behave accordingly because it is so powerful.
As soon as a survivor uses dead hard you know they have it. All you have to do is bait them to use it after that. To be honest you could even bait it before you know about it, to check for it.
It's not that hard to outplay it and if it is influencing a killer's games that much then maybe the killer is not very good.
-
@LeonxJiwoon said:
This is then me saying that players who use killers who have instant down like bubba are not good killers players.
Same goes for killers who use slow down perks. Since that's clearly the logic the OP is following.

Uh no. Killers do not need 5 perks.
-
@Desh said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/290625/most-survivors-can-t-play-without-dead-hard
Many Killers are just not that great when they are without gen regression perks. Using these perks prolongs the game.
Many Survivors are just not that great without Items to enhance their plays. Using these items shortens the game.
Many Killers are just not that great when they are without tracking perks. Using these perks aids finding Survivors easier with little to no effort.
See how pointless it starts sounding?
It's like you read my mind. People complain about way too many things, with no logic behind them.

i dont have problems, i dont run blood warden. it just doesnt make any sense, its dull, boring and mostly. It bypasses a mechanic.
You clearly do have a problem with it if you are making a thread about it.
Dead by Daylight currently has bigger problems than someone 99'ing an exit. Honestly if the exit progress did deplete killer's would just abuse it.
-
Just had it twice in a row. I was playing SWF with a console player (cross play was on). This happened after the Steam update.
-
99ing is fine. There are perks to combat exit gate progress if it's that big of a problem for you and you, as the killer, can open it yourself if you really want Blood Warden in play.
-
Same. I didn't even realise you could kick them at first. I think it's a really simple, but effective thing that they've added, that makes the Midnight Grove event more engaging.
-
Happened every other match when I was playing survivor and loading into a match. Cross play was on and I was playing SWF.
Once I switched to killer, I did not encounter the problem (cross play was still on).
-
This literally just happened to me. I selected one, began matchmaking and once I had loaded into the lobby it was de-selected and said that nothing had been selected.
