They don't address it because it's only a problem in your mind. The overblown whining I read about it are some of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in a video game community.
It's 95% confirmation bias. It's memetic in the classic sense. Your favorite YouTube man says it's all awful boo boo solo so bad. So when you see someone Urban evading around the map you go oh my God solo and use that as confirmation that it's terrible. However you don't remember the times your solo teammates have formed an impromptu train to unhook and escort you out the gate. You don't remember when you get unhooked and your unhooker drops you a medkit so they can go bang out the last gen. That stuff doesn't fit the narrative you want to believe, so you gloss over it.
The truth of it is that solo has the problem every team-based video game has: people do not do the stuff you want them to. You'll see similar complaining in any community with a team component. It's either something that enlivens the experience for you or makes it frustrated.

1, killers have insanely strong perks - and I would argue even stronger then survivors
2, COH is by far not as efficient as you make it to be. Search time for killer is much shorter then for survivor, because dull/hex totems blend more (especially dull), dulls don't make any sound, booning takes time and if you are interupted for a split second it regresses to nothing, COH have many strings attached to it (e.g. hex build where everyone cleanses all the dulls).
Going with your suggestion to nerf COH. I would only agree if:
a, COH got it's speed reduced to 125%
b, Eruption lost it's incapacitated part
c, Overcharge started at 50% instead of 75% regression speed and skillcheck was at least 50% larger
It's beyond demoralizing that killer can camp his 3gen and regress it to 0 in rather short amount of time even if 4 survivors are trying to break it - not to mention if 1 got tunneled out. It's unacceptable for these perks to continue to exist under its current form.
I hate these sorts of posts. People trot out this well the other side does this stuff! Like that somehow invalidates the actual topic at hand.
These perks you mentioned have literally nothing to do with circle of healing. They're a whole other thing. Game's asymmetrical. It's more nuanced than a rope being tugged back and forth.
In regards to OP: rather than a straight nerf I'd rather see it limited in some capacity. Give it +25% healing from what it has now and give it a hefty duration, something like 300s. As survivors utilize it the duration drains more quickly with a buffer at the very end so folks can finish off their heals. When the duration times out the other boon effects remain except circle. The survivor would have to bless a new totem to refresh circle.
Or give it a 40s or so cooldown. I'd really like a minor buff to go along with any nerf tho.

Isn't Alma just palette swapped sadako? Doesn't seem interesting to me.

Uninstall my favorite game? Absolutely not.

Those "stereotypes" are made by heterosexuals, why should queer people care as long as the representation they're getting is good? Are there no buff lesbian bike racer lesbians or something?
By qualifying Yui as a homosexual without any sort of indication within the lore or her backstory...... You are buying into an reinforcing those same stereotypes. You looked at this lady's appearance and hobby and said yeah, she's this. That's pretty lame IMO. Boring way to categorize folks.
Of course there are lesbian bikers. There are lesbian astronauts, lesbian florists, lesbian archaeologists. Whatever. I'm saying that someone's appearance shouldn't define their sexuality because that is exactly what you are doing with this character. You looked at Yui and said "Yeah, she fits the bill". It's lame.

Ok, bigots will complain regardless and lesbians already love her. So, where the problem lies?
I didn't say it was a problem. I just find playing to stereotypes an uninteresting way to have representation. David, as an extremely masculine male but also gay is more compelling to me. He plays against what's seen as a gay stereotype.

Canonically, it’s not stated yet. She has had a (romantic) partner at one point, who was just referred to by name in her tome story and it’s a Japanese name which gender isn’t stated.
I think having a masc, muscular woman be gay is vastly uninteresting. Feels like it plays into stereotypes.

I think the scarecrow one is weirdly difficult to see.

Is she canonically gay?

Just watched the splinter trailer………….really? XD
..... Yes? I consume a great deal of horror media and Splinter is a good flick. It's tense with body horror and a few surprises. As opposed to terrifier which is just a slasher boiled down to bare bones. No characterization, no real tension because you're not invested in any of the characters or the setting. It's just gore stuff which isn't interesting.
Again, all hallows eve is the superior film. The framing narrative and subsequent vignettes give a reason to strip out the characterization. Rather it builds tension and curiosity about what exactly this murderous clown is and why he's doing what he's doing.
-
Those animations let survivors know whether or not you're in frenzy. It's not just set dressing, the animations mean something in game.
-
You want to change the game so you have to repair four generators, then hit both switches and then they win. Why not just say they instead of coaching all this in bizzare language with weapons?
In any case, it's got a plethora of obvious issues. Repairing four generators is trivial. This would make matches much quicker. No more three gens, you'd have to patrol a four gen which is impossible for most killers.
This tacitly buffs blight, spirit, nurse and artist. No other killers have the ability to patrol both exit gates. In fact I'd say those are the only viable killers remaining in the roster after this change.
You expect a survivor that's out of the game early to what? Wait around until the other survivors win and they get awarded a participation medal? Nobody wants to do that. They want to reque and play.
You should rejigger your philosophy toward what a win is. You want survivors to work together, but you obviously don't think of yourself as part of the team. If I make space by looping and the other survivors get out, that's a win for me. I feel good about it. If there's a god looper keeping the killer occupied for four gens and they get facecamped and I go 1 for 1 and they get out? That's a win for my team. It feels good.
-
Pallet saves use a different timing than flashlights though. If they were the same I could see it.
-
Art the clown is boring. Those films are terrible with the exception of all hallows eve which is pretty good.
My dream IP is Splinter.
-
The only anti tunnel perk? Come on.
-
Switches to killer after about 8pm for me.
People don't understand that the incentive is weighted toward survivor, because more of them are required to make the game function. That or they do understand and wilfully ignore it so they can continue the unending "solo bad" dirge.
-
Just what all those pesky and problematic stealth killers need: an entire game mechanic that negates their power.
-
Ah, they changed one thing and gave a compensation buff, so a completely unrelated thing should also be changed.
DBD forums logic at it's finest.

It's actually deceptively good.

Absolutely correct. The confession needs to be notarized as well. My bad.

The basement is supposed to be risky for survivors. Recognizing when you're out of resources and about to go down, then choosing where to go down is a big part of the survivor skill cap. Hence "comp corner".

Dont worry about it, I'm happy to get the killers attention or take a hit for you all I ask is jump on my gen when I'm chased away lol, hate seeing my 95% gen regress all the way.
Though iv moved into sabo saves currently because the joy of seeing a killer drop the survivor and start to hint me down gives me the "oh s**t, they want me now" then I'll quote scary movie "ruuuunnn bi**h, ruuun"
But good luck to you too! I cant play though I'm busy all weekends but I dont need the BP but thanks!
Sabo is also incredibly rewarding vs. the extremely popular scourge hooks.

Keep in mind, one, that english is not my native language, and two, that I've written this without giving it a second pass. I meant "free" as in "boom, it happens" not "free" as in "people use this to instantly win the game and it's unfair".
I consider explosion perks an annoyace, but I don't particularly hate people that use them nor do I think any less of them for using them.
Your post gives absolutely no indication that you're not a native English speaker. It's well written and the section around the free bit is perfectly phrased. Take that as you will.

You're a legend.
To expand on that: Not really. Higher skilled folks who already have the timing down won't notice much of a difference- they've already mastered the timing. The bigger challenge at that point is getting into position in time to get a save. If the killer knows how to play around flashlights, that becomes more difficult since they can face a wall or turn the other way.
If your get into position early, nothing changes. You could have waited the extra 0.25 seconds out and gotten the blind even without it.
If you get there late, you still do not get the blind.
More than anything, it makes them easier to learn and feel better to use. This more of less compensates for the inability to adjust your timing after the cooldown was added.
"This change that makes it easier to flashlight save actually does nothing"
Then why implement it? It obviously makes it easier to perform. Why are you trying to gaslight so hard?
-
These things are not equivalent.
-
People clamoring for the opportunity to give corporations more money. I hate this world.
-
If you have to equip the perk and fulfill the activation requirement, the information is not free. You've paid a cost.
I don't care about the idea. Sure, why not. Just your phrasing of those perks as "free" when by definition they are not.
-
This feels like the most boring killer to play ever. You just hang around survivors and wait for them to hurt themselves? There's no looping or anything. It's entirely passive. A bot could play this killer.
-
@Grigerbest said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3244061#Comment_3244061
They only do that by the way you played a killer. Not coz you simply playing a killer.=)
I find that some survivors can blame you for stuff you didn't even do so...
Also, if you receiving such behaviour from them after a match, don't forget to properly report it, because it's not acceptable.
I do, but we both know reports do nothing without video evidence and a signed notorized affidavit from yourself and the offending party in which they admit guilt. It helps to have them on camera making a formal apology as well.
I am the nicest killer you will ever meet. I always give the last survivor hatch or gate. I barely run regression perks, I wouldn't run them all all if games didn't end in four minutes without them.
The problem is that anything you do as killer is construed as toxic. If you body block with BT and I rehook you or leave you on the ground, that's toxic. If you're the only survivor I can find because you keep bagging at pallets and consequently get outplayed because you are in fact not as good as your favorite DBD YouTuber, that's toxic. If you get yourself into a three gen and I have the temerity to defend it, that's toxic.
Fact of the matter is that survivors have unrealistic and ridiculous expectations of killers. God help the people that DC on the first down vs. my clown. They must instantly explode when they play vs an actual good killer.
-
Blindness counters Windows, which is hard meta. That alone makes it useful. I just wish there were more consistent ways to apply it.

Yes, I think also that it's most of the reason (with the addition of 4v1). It's a really fascinating psychological study of such behaviour - I never experienced it to this degree in other games.
Yeah I played years of dota with people screeching at me in Spanish and Russian and never got remotely close to the amount of toxicity and you see in this game. Every third killer match I get death threats or invited to commit self harm. Constant invites to Xbox lobbies so they can find my IP address and DDOS me. I play off meta killers with off meta builds and it simply. Does. Not. Matter. I'm the bad guy and deserve all the invective they want to throw at me. It's exhausting.

Check this boy here, this is game i just played, he teabagged me after pallet stun, and after i downed him he dced, those kind of people are making this game looks bad, not killer or map design. It's selfish and toxic behaviour
Do you only play S tier killers? Don't you get bored of winning with very little struggle every game?
-
It's easier for survivors to be toxic because the killer is "the villain" in this game. Why would you be polite to a villain, right?
Ignoring the fact that the killer is controlled by an actual person and is not an actual evil being, merely your opposition in a video game. But this is the mindset.

Maybe DBD 2.

I am mostly survivor main so I can say who destroys on those maps and who doesn't, but sure enough.
Very good slinger can hit thru pallet and go around them - it does not work on all of them, so I said 50%. Yet average or bad slinger will struggle (and I have maybe 2hrs on the killer).
As huntress - even if I am mediocre huntress at best. Just today I had 4k. Reason being, that dropping pallet next to huntress is 50/50 (and I would actually say it's like 70/30 for huntress if she can hit without getting pallet). If you really want bad map for huntress that contain a lot of pallets, check out RPD. You will see the difference immediately.
Trapper depends more on how good survivors are in noticing and if you find a team that actually follows him to untrap all his traps - but again, the map contains quite a few bottlenecks that usually contain god pallet - if you are able to trap them (and those traps stay), then you should get relatively easy game. But I will give you the fact, that I overshot and the match is not insanely easy.
For onryo - I don't have her, so I can't say from my personal plays. However I faced lethality onryo on the map before (so yes - this requires her iri addon, otherwise when played "normally", she will struggle). She can teleport almost constantly and with the map being so damn small, you will very soon find yourself in need of a tape. But you will get it only once or twice. After that, you get killed. Without ever being hooked.
You're winning as a mediocre huntress cuz you don't play her and your MMR is rock bottom, you little weirdo. You're making sweeping statements and generalizations with only your personal anecdotes to back them up.

Well the game is not survivor sided. Take nemesis or nurse and you will understand. Or take legion with iri button and julie's mixtape + endurance + spirit fury and you will just loose. Same with wraith with brutal strength and 2 shadow dance addons for very probable loose. Or take huntress, trapper, or any other killer that can disable your loops (this includes a bit skilled slinger - who can ignore 50% of all pallets on this map) for insanely hard match. Or take mori-build onryo and prepare for your certain hard attack.
Then again, take (non-palet) freddy or oni for very easy game.
You would be surprised how often will the game screw you over as survivor. There's always problem with finding totems and generators on this map compared to most of other maps. It's very hard against some killers, because this map has very few loops without pallets (with windows).
Even some big killer mains changed their idea and consider this map killer sided. Together with midwitch, saloon, shelter woods and many other maps.
BTW maps in general can't be so bad, because otherwise survivors will not get 41% escape rate on avarage and 39% in high MMR.
What exactly does that legion combo do, precisely? If you predrop it does nothing. It does nothing vs. strong windows. It's a dumb meme.
-
If it didn't have a cooldown it'd be fine. With all the powerful medkits and CoH survs don't even stay injured vs. legion for longer than ten seconds, especially if they realize you have blood echo.
-
@Nos37 said:
Yeah, because each year the devs give us all a new perk slot, along with the 12 new survivor perks.
I need 2 or 3 perk slots just to get the same information that SWF get free.
"Killer's on me. Someone get the unhook." Costs zero perk slots. No Kindred required.
Solo q either has 3 survivors rushing the hook and promotes the killer's camping, or it has 2 survivors urban evading on the edge of the map.
You don't get to counter all the stuff in the game you don't like. You're not entitled to shut down everything your opposition brings. Pick some things you don't like and build around that. Or just use natural counters and think about your positioning a bit.
-
Using a perk is griefing. Really interesting stuff here.
-
This build isn't even a thing. Totems just get done in chase. I'm sorry that you apparently had a bad game one time.

Fortunately it's completely nullified if you tap the gen for a quarter of a second.

Legion is fun to go against. Clear counterplay. Mostly an m1 killer. I don't understand the issue.

Considering the theme of most of these topics, they want BHVR to visit the camper's house, steal their pets and break their kneecaps.
-
Dredge darkness is one of the worst things to go against in the game? Really? In a game with starstruck agi nurse, iri head camping huntress, alch ring blight? The thing that makes it dark for a bit maybe three times a match is a problem?
Dredge doesn't even rate. Windows counters it almost entirely.

If this is your concern :
The nurse cannot ignore the pallets.
That should fix the looping issues.
If that's still not enough for you I guess Nurse shouldn't be able to skip windows too.
But keep in mind that a killer must be playable and have access to and use their power.
You also have to think about the killers, not only the survivors, that's what I try to do in my previous Rework on the Pig :
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/351428/rework-the-pig#latest
Ah, so nurse simply can't do things . Fascinating.

I just think he needs like -15s on static blast cooldown and the -10% shock delay addon base kit. Latency makes the shock incredibly unreliable.
