  • This forum is for complaining not help (y'all know it's true) but to start out it would help to know your build that be the first step in trying to figure out what happened.

  • Whoever is working on the current hellraiser game has exclusive rights so not for a long time.

The loading screen also tells you to drop pallets as a distraction.

Those hints only come up the first couple of times you face a given killer. If you are facing pig for the fourth time and you are a casual player that doesn't play too often the last time you faced pig or plague might have been months ago. I am playing a different game than these players are, we just end up in the same lobby.

Side note I know that tip sounds silly but I've unironically done that or set off a fog vial as a distraction if someone's died and there's only one gen left to get the killer's attention so they don't go over to the last gen being worked on and it's actually worked out. 9/10 I wouldn't recommend doing it but it's an idea that does have it's place.

The average player is average, unless you can you give a compelling reason why you think skill in this game doesn't follow a standard bell curve. If the average player is average but we consider the average survivor to be bad then we can state that the skill floor required to do decently on survivor is higher than it is on killer. You cannot fault players for the game expecting more of one side than the other. I am not saying this is a bad thing by the way, it is how I want the game to be balanced, I think survivor should be harder to win on than killer but the endless trashing of survivors as bad needs to stop.

You were a brand new player once but I think you have forgotten how much you had to learn and how much time it took. There are 43 killers in the game and that number is going to continue going up. There are some similarities in how to play against some of them but each one does have unique things you should do against them.

There are 44 maps in the game, each one spawning loops, structures, and generators in different locations. I know that Dead Dawg Saloon tends to three gen around gallows and to ignore the main building but that takes time to learn. We again have some similarities with shared gym tiles but to be most successful you need to chain those to other resources and that differs heavily map to map.

Nobody is talking about memorizing the counterplay to every killer obviously that takes a lot of time but people are failing basic pattern recognition of "oh the last two times someone got unhooked the killer went straight back to hook so this third time I'm....gonna demand you heal me under this hook because surely this time the killer won't come back" like again sympathetic to soloQ but there does need to be just some amount of forethought from survivor players.

Do people really think krasue is bad?

Pretty sure the opinion is she is boring and repetitive in gameplay

I've seen people complain she's as low as C tier somehow on here and Reddit. I've seen more people say B tier which isn't bad placement but she's far better than that.

  • This is such a low sample size that I wouldn't take too much from it other than Krasue isn't as bad as people think, she's clunky yes but she's still A tier.

Otherwise they'd have to do this every weekend for at least 3-4 months before we start having data we can really pull from. Also I know what conclusion you're trying to get at with this and do this tournament with no comms allowed and see what happens.

  • I had this same thought the other day lol. And no I haven't seen it and yes I do feel like everyone freaked out over not nothing per se but how good the perk was was way overblown. We've had lucky break/ iron will in the game forever and not very many people run that and this was a marginal upgrade.

  • I don't think it really needs the 8 hit prerequisite tbh, 5% hinder is nothing crazy when you consider it's always attaching to a speed boost and you can cleanse the totem.

Hell even if they did that it'd still be a bad perk.

  • Yeah midchapter would pretty much have to be this coming week if we're getting one, if not there might not be one.

  • @MDRSan said:

"This year the number of 'guaranteed' Toothy Tortes appearing in the Bloodweb per Prestige is slightly higher than the number of 'guaranteed' Coconut Scream Pies that appeared in the Bloodweb last year."

I think the word 'guaranteed' is doing a lot of work in that statement. They know they're being disingenuous and missing the entire point. If you used to be guaranteed a single pie every 10 levels but had a 70% chance of getting an extra cake every level in between and then they changed it to just a 1% chance for the in between levels they could still technically make that statement.

It would be condescending, entirely missing the point, and insulting to the player base but it would be technically true.

Us really getting "uuhmm actually"'d by BHVR in the big 26 is crazy.

  • In comp it's survivor sided. In public play it depends on so much that it's hard to say and maps decide a lot.

I'll give two examples, get a ghost face on Midwich and they're threatening but get a ghost face on Blood Lodge and they're a joke. One map has many line of sight blockers and places to peak around and is quite small. The other has long sight lines and strong loops. Same killer but a radically different experience depending on the map.

Now let's take Trickster's Delusion a map that people have realized can spawn a brutal market 3 gen for survivors if they spawn in the shack, market and in front of the market near the nightclub or the park if you're lucky. If the killer is aware of this the survivors will have a bad time if they're not and the survivors are and break it early the map isn't so bad. But this says nothing of the killer or the perks the survivors brought. There's simply too many variables to say definitively which side the game favors.

Only reason game is survivor sided in comp is they try to take out as many variables as possible and when you do that communication is the strongest thing left.

  • It's really funny because I don't see Ghost Face that much but when I do it's always on an indoor map so my perception is probably a bit skewed. I think Ghost Face can be okay on maps with limited lines of sight but then you get blood lodge and you just shouldn't even bother playing.

He shouldn't just turn into another dash killer like Michael but luckily there's other options. BHVR's Ghost Face is all about being one with the night lorewise so if he got a dredgelike mechanic that could obscure survivors vision that would suit him a lot better and help him with his ambushes. And if you say that's just ripping off Dredge we have like 5 different infection killers and half the roster is dash killers I'm sure BHVR could find a way to make Ghost Face's darkness unique to him without it feeling like Dredge.

  • I like the concept but the execution is meh, I don't really enjoy it from either side. As survivor I'm just playing Plate up! For the most broken buffs imaginable and as killer I get to be Plague/Clown. It's not particularly inspired although I will say I like the banquet tile and that looks nice.

  • Long where? If you mean main queue it's because all the survivors are in the event queue and not a lot of killers playing the event.

  • They haven't and knowing what we know now it's not even a rarity issue it's that they're in fixed bloodweb and changing the rarity wouldn't fix that.

  • Devs out here acting like it still wouldn't months to p100 one character even with cakes.

think of the corporations people! Screw that some things should not be used for profit post.

Seriously the regalia should’ve been an iri shard only cosmetic with no auric cell option. Other cosmetics that were release could’ve and should’ve been used in its place.

I swear some people think corporations consist of a CEO and COO and that's it. But when you realize how real life works you'll realize a bunch of artists that make considerably less worked on this and yes they do deserve to be paid for their work. And you are not the president of all first nations peoples and knowing BHVR there is absolutely no way they didn't run this by the consultants they were working with first so obviously there are people from other tribes that disagree with you.

  • It's so over if we get stuck on the idea that "progressivism is when nobody sees the fruit of their labor" like that feels more performative to me because there's no utility only signaling.

Real life is not twitter people actually need to make rent.

  • They put labor into creating the cosmetic they then get paid for it that's how this works. Also they had Ojibwe consultants working with them the entire time and I assume they helped work on it and greenlighted it so I don't really think it's for you to say whether it's okay or not what they do with the character as long as they're alright with it.

  • I main Taurie because I thought having a black vale survivor would be a cool idea ever since Artist came out and I like that in a way she's the real horror fan girl of the game like sure Sable dresses the part but Taurie walks the walk of worshipping a spidery eldritch god. On another note I guess I relate to her self-sacrificing nature and that makes her easier to connect to.

Here's a better answer: I appreciate you waiting for all the moving parts to do their thing: We are investigating reports of issues related to the spawn rate of the Toothy Torte in the Bloodweb. We'll provide an update as soon as we know more.

To be clear I don't think there are any issues with spawn rates as in I don't think they're broken or anything it's that the rarity is very rare instead of the usual common so

    1. Was this intended?

    2. If yes then why?

    3. Can they be changed back to common?

  • Yeah I don't love it but I look on the bright side of 1. Her Robe outfit already suits the event and 2. She's getting a great outfit in the next rift.

  • Nothing in particular I just don't get why it's a big deal but it is very funny to have people tell me I'm defending a corporation because of that as if this is the biggest problem they have rn and it's some moral outrage although that is very in character for the community.

You lose out of proof of purchase with the in-game store, nor do you get
a bonus cosmetic or charm like with other dlc's, you can't familiy share among other things.
Just see all the issues with people losing out of their coins and stuff atm.

Oh, I mean I don't care about any of those things so that's fine. Also BHVR has made you be able to receive bonus cosmetics from in store purchases before which leads me to believe they simply didn't make any for Shane. Also nobody really owns anything in DBD even if you buy off steam. The second severs shut down it's all lost anyway or if you get banned it's also lost but you kinda know that going in.

  • Not really sure why people are freaking out over this, the character is buyable with shards so I don't really see this being part of any kind of agenda. People are just being paranoid.

I don't think I've ever bought a DLC off of steam it's always been off the in game store and in 10 years I've never had any issues when it comes to characters I've bought.

  • Me when I don't pay attention to my surroundings.

  • Wraith is there to be the introduction killer, I know people say that's trapper but wraith is the one that actually lets you get experience getting into chases quickly, understanding how speed effects lunges and the importance of denying windows and pallets.

Reworking him is not a good idea.

  • Perk is useless now, Lend a Hand isn't great and Full Throttle is usable but highly overrated from the PTB, Shane release looking pretty lackluster atp.

  • CoH I actually think was fine in it's last iteration before what we have now, setting up a boon + running to boon + 50% heal speed reduction I think is a reasonable trade off for being able to heal without a medkit and was the glue that held boon builds together. Now it's just an irrelevant mechanic BHVR made and they're too scared to make one stronger than illumination, a perk everyone thinks is a joke.

The funniest thing about CoH getting shot is that we now have a better version in Strength in Shadows where you don't have to look for a totem and it's faster, so fast in fact that when paired with botany it's faster than someone else healing you. People go "oh going to basement is so dangerous that perk is so bad" but I have around 600 heals in basement and I promise you the killer has a million things better to do than randomly check basement. The amount of times I've been able to take protection hits for teammates, heal up and have time to take another protection hit for the same chase has been incredible. Or even better let teammates get doors while I heal so I can guarantee my escape has also been life saving. So I miss old CoH and would use it if it came back but at least I have a replacement.

  • AI has broken people's brains I swear. Obviously it shouldn't be used for art but what I mean is the paranoia I see around art now is crazy. Like very obviously not AI pieces get accusations now based on basically nothing.

My #1 fear with AI isn't that Terminator happens it's that it completely destroys some people's perception of reality, society already struggled with that before AI but it's gotten so much worse with AI in the last few years.

  • The funny thing is this is probably something we presumably wouldn't have to wait until the update for. For those around when the knight first dropped borgo used to be in Caelid for some reason, it was an unbelievably red map and not nice to look at. This changed I believe with the Lich release to what we have now so presumably they could make coldwind dark again they just haven't.

  • I agree it's a really good perk and is more meta than it's usage rate reflects, idk where you're getting that it's free though? It's a Yun-jin Perk.

If people want to slug that's fine, it can create some… interesting gameplay.

The issue with this perk affecting slugs is that it prevents outplaying the strategy.

Perks augmenting a strategy is kind of the point of perks. It also doesn't do that? Nothing is stopping people from bringing things like Unbreakable and Conviction.

  • On survivor: Hearing gens pop while I'm in chase. Feels like I'm being rewarded for lasting. / Alternatively putting on deja vu and orchestrating an impossible to defend 3 gen for the killer.

On Killer: Hitting a survivor after the 3rd stack of devour and having that feeling of "you should probably get off gens and deal with that ;)" / Locker grabbing a survivor trying to lock a locker as Dredge / Scaring tf out of people with stealth builds.

Its also worse because its easier to apply then Pyramid Heads Torment

There's a really funny version of this where someone complains about tbagging giving them sin isn't fair and they're actually serious.

  • I think Judgement has potential to be a really cool killer, I'm hoping the beam isn't too hard to aim with. I have a feeling people are going to complain about exile countering all the unhook perks.

  • Slugging is a strategy, nothing unhealthy about it.

  • Atp I'm convinced Dredge deserves their own "???" Tier. Killer plays so radically different depending on the map you're on and the add ons you use that they almost defy categorization. You get a corn map and they're C tier but you play on Midwich or Meat Plant with it's best add-ons and I genuinely believe they're a top 10 killer.

Then you have extremely transformative add-ons like Follower's Cowl that's more or less Nowhere to Hide in an add-on giving them an extra power or the microphone that tells you where survivors are across the map but then you feel compelled to always use skull and calendar so I'm not sure how you consider that into the ranking.

But at the same time I can't even say the community underrated Dredge because on the maps they're bad they're REALLY bad where their mobility is handicapped and their anti loop is a joke on maps with lots of jungle gyms and connecting tiles so I get where the perception comes from.

    Tl;dr Dredge is really weird.

  • Does crouching stop the scream? Cuz it seems if he's close enough you still scream but other times you don't it's weird.

So, the only thing in this post I agree with is the power complaint about him shifting too quickly. Everything else is down to your pathing/awareness. For instance, I agree with increasing his power cooldown by 5-15s depending on testing and finding the sweet spot.

However, him being able to pick up extra shots mid chase and you not gaining extra distance is down to how you path. His spikes are arguably a slightly stronger huntress hatchet, and she gets 7 of those. Being able to reload mid chase is nothing new.

Do you know what the good thing about mist form is for survivors? you can basically choose who takes chase and balance hooks that way, especially in the early game when he can only really pressure 1 survivor. Choosing who takes chases when is a huge advantage i dont see many posts acknowledging, since the others can crouch/not interact with gens and not get found.

The second paragraph seems like your advocating for hard counters, which im 90% certain your not because most people dont like it when either side can just shut down you doing something. Like if a killer could give infinite exhaustion ect. Hard counter's arent good for the game, because they just shut out one sides ability to do something. Crouching is currently a soft counter to jason, and it should stay that way

I mean I just want countering Jason to feel meaningful, I wanna say 95% of my frustration with Jason is the constant OE. The spears I think are fine for the most part it's just frustrating you can dodge spears all day long but still get run down because he's 115% for some reason.

    You're misunderstanding his argument.

He didn't say stop stop playing the game, he said play more cautiously when you're in danger. This is something you should already be doing regardless of killer.

Do you have no hooks, or the least hooks in your group? Work on more dangerously located generators and play more bold so that you attract the killer's attention. Force them to choose between pressuring a less vulnerable survivor and protecting an easily patrolled generator, or letting that gen get progressed while they search for survivors who are closer to being removed from the match.

Are you death hook, or at least one of the few people on your team who has already been hooked? Play more cautiously, try to avoid notice, work on safer generators so the killer has to go out of his way to find you. Even if you're not death hook, you don't want to be placed closer to death hook, especially if it's early in the match with multiple gens left to do. If you end up on death hook at 3+ gens left, you become the killer's easy win condition, they're going to be looking for you.

This is just good practice in general.

So how this applies to Jason is: you work on gens and let him find you in Omnipresent Evil if you're in a good state, and if you're in a bad state, let go of the gen and start crouch walking so that he can't find you.

I understand what the argument was I just don't think that's a good defense for Jason, one it's advice that goes for survivor in general and two it doesn't change the fact that crouch walking around is the least engaging type of counterplay BHVR could have come up with.

Scott also said he’s a new killer and all new killers overperform for a while

I don't really buy that as an excuse, like yes that is true but we can tell when something is off. It's not like nobody knows the counterplay it's just that that counterplay is the most hated type in the entire game. There's a reason nobody's favorite character to play against is hag.

Yeah, I do find it a bit nonsensical that he can view people doing totems, healing, doing chests with the red mist.

I've also heard through a killer main friend of mine that Scott Jund recommended the death hook survivor to just crouch during OE mode, which I highly disagree with. I don't really understand the fascination with crouching around unless it's at the beginning of the game and you're doing it to go to a gen or whatever you're doing.

The concept that I, a death hook survivor should crouch and become an inefficient part of the team when realistically speaking if everyone just ran and went to the objective - all survivors would be highlighted and Jason cannot determine who is who when in OE mode.

That's another thing I wanted to point out from playing against him and getting to the end of the trial, I've never done that and only if ever crouched when approaching a gen or running on the outskirts of a map because what Jason is going around the outskirts, but that's just my opinion there.

There's a lot to his kit, I cannot really pinpoint exact issues that could be changed. He's inherently a jack of all trades killer with a lot in his basekit, just a bit silly that he gets information everywhere just because someone isn't crouching.

We can't crouch and heal, we can't crouch and do a totem, we can't crouch and open a chest.

I saw Scott's video and laughed at that part, like he's talking about how well designed Jason is and then his solution of what to do to counter him is to just stop playing the video game. Like brother do you hear yourself?

  • I mean I've seen worse apologies at the very least.

I'm struggling to tell if this post is satire or not.

I swear I've seen someone make an identical post to this but about Survivors having Sprint Burst, Finesse, too many resources, & aggro Endurance + DS about a month ago.

Even the formatting seems similar, this genuinely might be a copy pasted inversion of another post.

Also, I agree, specifically with Jason's infinite duration of Omnipresent Evil.

It's not it's just a thought I had this morning. I don't think Jason needs to be mega nerfed or anything just there are some things about him that are questionable from a design perspective because outplaying really doesn't feel good because anything you do can be undone by him very quickly. If nothing else he shouldn't be allowed to stay in Omni forever just to keep the game moving.

I do escape against him but I basically have to blast gens as fast as I can which isn't that fun.

  • So is this supposed to make people want to buy the shirts or....

How to kill community goodwill towards you in record time (only towards INK I don't think BHVR would ever do something like this).

  • Hag players are the most dedicated mains I swear. Every time I see a Hag player give feedback it's always an essay that's usually pretty well thought out just so BHVR can brush it off because of her low playrate not making her a priority.

From what I remember I don't think the lunge idea works because if I remember correctly there are scenarios where you can have coup equipped and still not be able to hit out a teleport so it'd have to be something mental like 120% or something.

I think doing something similar to her like trapper where you get haste after setting a trap could be an idea. it gives her the ability to chase without relying on bloodlust while still encouraging relying on the traps. Although it might make the setting speed add ons too good.

  • Jason is such a weird case cuz he's not OP, he's not even top 5 but playing against him just doesn't feel good? This isn't even a buff/nerf issue it's the core gameplay loop of crouch and don't do anything while he stays in his fog form as long as he wants sucks. There is nothing fun about the game just grinding to a halt every time Jason uses his power and I can't imagine it's fun for the Jason player either not being able to find anyone so you just guess a place survivors are going to be in hopes of getting a jumpscare.
