It's perfectly fine if you don't want to buy the chapter, I'd say it's even fine if you encourage others to think about if they want to get it or not.

But basically saying you'll "punish" people for buying something you don't want to buy when they might have an entirely different opinion on the "value" of the product in question? Take a chill pill and/or a break, jeez.

I was joking about the facecamping part, but she needs adjustements, or no one will play her lol, unless you love to hurt yourself xD

  • The point is, I can't know if they are repairing. Did you ever seen a killer with a provided power to be trolled like that? I hope you keep playing Nurse becouse if you buy this new killer I will find you, and I will facecamp you.

  • Doing gens in a killer's face is outrageous vs. me, I am an experienced killer main and I feel humiliated by playing this unbalanced mess!

  • @BattleCast said:

The locker issue has been recognized, and it will probably be addressed before they come to the live version. Same thing with holding Victor hostage.

This is not enough, doing gens in her face while she is "AFK" needs to be addressed. Maybe give a speed penalty on repairing for those who are in her TR while you are controlling Victor!

The Nurse is a great example of how to not make a killer, but because she is bad, but because she is overpowered and is the best killer without a doubt. If you can use her.

As anyone who has gone against one can tell you, a god nurse will destroy you regardless of what you do. Meanwhile, a newer nurse player is as scary as a pillow case. The first problem with Nurse's design is that is forces you to use her power, as she moves too slowly to catch up to survivors normally. This means for newer players, you are out of luck, especially with the lack of a practice mode to learn her power.

The second problem is the lack of counter play. If you are out in the open and you see a good nurse coming at you, you are going to get hit. A good point of comparison is Demogorgon's shred, as both let each killer close the gap quickly and get a hit off. However, while a good Demo's shred can be dodged as it is rather predictable, the nurse can pull of some crazy shenanigans to make it impossible to predict her. My personal experience with this was letting a survivor vault to trigger "I'm all ears", teleporting to the basement, before popping back up to hit them. There was no way for the survivor I was facing to predict my movement, which left the survivor getting rather stabbed.

So how do you fix these problems? I am not sure if you can or even need to. I think Nurse is weird spot. She is clearly broken, but the amount of skill needed to make her broken is so high that almost everyone, even myself, are fine with her almost limitless skill ceiling.

In the end, I think Nurse is fine where she currently is. She is broken, but only a select few can take advantage of its true power. But please, BHVR, for the love of the entity, do not make another killer like the Nurse. It is already hard enough to learn/play against the Nurse, I don't need another killer with a similar design to make the game even more broken. I mean at the very least they have not added a killer with a similar power that is also very broken but ten times easier to use- oh wait.

This girl. This girl right here. They tried solving the issue of a high skill floor, and did not realize why it was there in the first place. Spirit was designed to be similar to nurse, but they did not realize that nurse was more powerful than any other killer, and, I personally think, that they underestimated just how powerful Spirit was as well.

I have been dancing around what exactly the design behind nurse was, but I will state it what it is now. A very powerful ability, but with a heavy cost any time you use it. But there is always a way to negate the cost. A Nurse that does not miss never has to deal with the stun, and a spirit can just run stridor. This design always fails because it ignores a core part of Dead By Daylight, adaption. If it can be abused, it will be abused. Players will always find a way to cover their weakness and that is just a fact. Luckily, BHVR has seem to have learned from their mistakes and have avoided using this model for any new killer, but just give them time. They will try to make another killer like them, and we will have to suffer once again.

You can pick up Spirit with Stridor and still do very bad if you don't know how to adapt on extended noises range, altered noises by Iron Will or Fixated users. It's always a guessing game, as well as she was designed. And honestly, if they keep releasing killers who take high skill but with low reward as the Twins, you will wait in queue for days. No one wants play killer to be trolled.

I mean, as much as I see lot of people complain about it, proper looping does require at least some level of alertness, knowledge of lunge distance and being able to call a killer doing a red stain mindgame or not. Not super high mechanical skill but at least some against a good killer. If you're being "mindlessly" looped that sounds like you're just following the loop and getting ######### on then complaining about it.

Also I have no idea what you mean by that first paragraph. Nurse is still far and away the best killer in DBD by a significant margin. The nerf was unnceccesary but it didn't hurt good Nurses who didnt need the crutch extra blinks at all.

Survivors can apply pressure on most killers by just focusing gens, forcing you to run certain perks like Undying/Ruin, Corrupt, PGTW ecc. Well pair this if they are even good loopers, you lose. Change my mind. If you do not agree, you played against potato/play just as high tier killers/or you just play survivor. That's it

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/205084/the-nurse-is-a-very-poorly-designed-killer

I do think for casual play ( anything outside of those Hexy tournaments) Nurse is completely unnecessary so I have little respect for power tripping pubstomper Nurses.

That said the game kind of needs her for that level. An good and I mean GOOD team will still ######### all over a great Nurse even if the chases themselves are very short, even with all her meta perks as they just have too many second chances.

And, yeah. Agreed on Spirit. Don't get me wrong I like playing her, but I think she is actually extremely unfun and unfair to play against. At least with Nurse I know shes teleporting towards me. Spirit just makes me not want to play the game anymore. Especially the goddamn Corrupt, Undying, Ruin Spirits I keep getting who are power tripping on solo queue. You don't even NEED slowdown on Spirit.

I'm glad the trend of anti-fun killers we got for a while seemed to go away with Blight but The Twins are leaving a lot to be desired despite their power actually being really fun to play against.

If we all stop playing killers becouse they are being turned in an unbalanced mess, you will get a taste of your own medicine by waiting 40m in queue to find someone who likes:

    -Being mindlessly looped;

    -Being mindlessly genrushed;

    -Being mindlessly trolled;

But wait, I think no one likes this treatment so goodbye.

All I get from this drama is that you are a salt factory, just take a break from the game bro :D

  • Demogorgon has a special attack as well as PH, with the difference that he's hard to dodge if managed properly + amazing map pressure. I don't get why people think PH is strong, he's not even close to be better of Demo. I think you guys are the same who looked for the Hillbilly nerf xD

  • Oni is M1 and PH is amazing... Well your M1 is amazing too... To press it for unistall lol

  • About PH in particular, his "special attack" is easy to avoid if the chased survivor just keeps an eye on the direction he is aiming. It works only against bad survivors who lock themselves in animation, like jumping a windows or throwing a pallet. In other situations is really easy to avoid becouse is a slow projectile (so means it won't never work in open areas) *always assuming the chased survivor has just a brain cell lol*

  • And right now, Oni is fantastic. Really bro, just leave PH where he is unless u want play him with a Mori to be toxic. If u look for fun pick up Oni and do this: equip Monitor&Abuse, BBQ, PGTW and IF. You spawn in the match, injure someone, get your power, transform, leave the injured alone and go back to patrol gens with your daemon mode = profit. And the best part, is you master his curve, no one will loop you not even for 10 seconds. Gl

I got him a week ago and although I've had some pretty good games I feel like I can do better. Any tips or tricks I should know about?

The best tip for playing Pyramid Head is... Don't play Pyramid Head. Too much skill to be mastered but so low reward. A waste of time, go play Oni instead. He is a perfect example of how a killer should be to be effective, Oni is the last good killer they released. Deathslinger and PH have no map pressure a well known weakness who can be exploited, Blight has map presence but M1 in chases (if he get well looped). Oni has none of these issues. Honestly Idk why devs are releasing weak killers in these times.

Yes. The aura reading on top is too much though. I think if you want info on top of respawn, you should run Toth. With Undying this totem is basically pointless currently.

Aura reading is ok. Actually you have to choose to chase the cleanser or go pressure gens, so if you go to gens, the cleanser will cleanse. If you leave him alone, you will stop the gen at the cost of get totems done.

That´s no entirely fair, though. Mettle of Man is a prominent example of an overpowered Survivor perk that got nerfed pretty swiftly, and even release MoM is pathetically weak compared to object.

Since the old times so much has changed. Survivors have gotten many neccessary nerfs to balance the game better, but we now have reached a point where solo survivors have it really rough.

Ruin/Undying is nuts on some Killers, given they are competent. I´d like to see it nerfed a bit, and I´m a Killer main, but I care about balance.

Ruin/Undying is born to please most people looking for a way to keep their hex totem up if someone spawns near theme in the early game. So it's fine, you cleanse my Ruin within the first 20 seconds of the start is not fun. Also, Ruin is intended to be more effective at the mid-game, but whituout Undying is pointless. No hex totem lasts so long.

Sluzzy is not a survivor main. I checked his profile after he left a comment on mine a few weeks ago and it was full of salty comments from survivors. I even subscribed to it because it was so funny.

Ruin / Undying is insane on any killer. And with the nerf to pop it's really the only good gen control out there unless you are playing Freddy. For killers who were already used to running no stall perks and winning the games through camping/slugging/tunneling for pressure, moving to ruin undying is pretty much god mode against any non meta SWF.

The point is.. Ruin/Undying will be nerfed on their logic becouse yes, something on the killer side is too strong and working, and that's BAD. But, something is too strong and working on the survivor side? Devs replies: git gud - adapt - APPLY PRESSURE

  • @Sluzzy said:

Nah, he needs to play a solo match against a decent rank 1 blight/spirit/billy/nurse loaded with undying, ruin, and tinker,....and bbq for icing on top. This is far more OP than anything in the game. It's literally god mode.

Dear survivor mains, in game you have no skill, but when it comes to spot something working on the killer side, you get all the skill of being stupid to say it's unbalanced and needs to be nerfed into the hell. Not even mentioning Spirit has not a great synergy with Ruin/Undying, becose she can't read aura of those trying to cleansing during her phasing, and tinkerer don't make quiet her phasewalk sounds. All you want to do is SIT THERE and HOLD M1. And well, you will do. If you call this gameplay "horror" you are the gaming monster over here.

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

OoO works as a mindgame sniper while the OoO user is sleeping. Try it with some friends in private match and you will notice the perk countering Freddy at 100%. That's insane and needs to be adjusted

Sounds ARE working as intended. For the most part anyway, minus survivors on the ground being silent. Its been 2 years since sounds got run into the ground, they've tinkered with them many times since then. Silent breathing, chase music booming so loud it drowns everything out, this is how it's intended and people need to realize that.

"sounds are working as intended" lol

  • And it was not a change to hurt her, more like to give a small window of counterplay while respecting her necessity to hear people

  • @ClickyClicky said:

So change perks just to hurt spirit. Spirit wouldnt need to run Stridor if all survivors werent running iron will.

Besides the breathing part hasn’t been relevant since 2018. Back then you used to hear breathing clearly but now even with stridor its still impossible on most survivors

This is happening becouse sounds are not working as intended and we are still waiting for the issue to be adjusted

I don't that that's so controversial. It seems pretty reasonable to me, honestly. Granted, it would have to be high enough such that someone who is playing normally with a good connection without a server nearby doesn't have any issue playing, but I don't see anything wrong with a high limit (say, 250ms). It is an online game, after all. While I do empathize with people who are having connection issues, it is on you to get that fixed, not everyone else's responsibility to deal with it for you. Those are real people you're playing with, not bots.

Although that's just one way to deal with it. There are other ways to handle it, such as by taking away hit authority and instead handling it on the server. That way if you have a terrible connection, you're the one that feels it, not the other people with good connections.

I have a better solution, remove dedicated servers and remove Behaviour

  • If my idea make it worse we could look directly for buffs to weak killers then. I don't like being forced to Corrupt Intervention when I'm the trapper or michael myers

  • @xenotimebong said:

I don’t mean to be rude, but if gens are consistently still popping too quickly for you after the multiple recent nerfs and changes, then I would suggest re-evaluating your gameplay. It might be that you just got unlucky with bad map RNG if it happens now and then, but if you’re losing games to fast gens a lot it suggests to me that you’re making some easily correctable mistakes.

My gameplay has no issue exept when I'm one of those guys with an "early game deficit". I can turn easily a bad situation in a 2-3k as Oni cuz he become a better Hillbilly in the middle-game and Infectious Fright let me down 2 survivor at once. But Trapper? Hag? Myers? Yes, I do well with them, but i get max 7-8 hooks by "playing fair" before gates are opened and I find myself forced to camp the last guy in the trial as a result

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Thats a new Level of "I cannot apply Map Pressure, please make it easier". Killers just have to look at Gens to make them go slower.

Adrenaline: Not op at all, they have to run 3 perks the whole game to get it activated, which is not always (mildly said) the case. On top of that, the benefit is not that great most of the time.

DS: There is an amazing counter to that: Dont tunnel. And if the survivor runs in your way, down and slug her. Whats the big deal?

Unbreakable: Pretty much the same with DS.

    Exhaustion perks: Are you joking?

OoO: Play a stealth killer and have a free wallhack while the survivor has no cluse where you are all the time.

    Diversion: lol

"There is no counter" is such a bullshit argument. I could also say where is the "counter" of bamboozle? Or Pop? Or corrupt? Or Safe the best for last? Or Monitor and Abuse? Or Or Or....

I love you when you said "don't tunnel", the next phrase "if someone runs to you, slug him down" CONGRATS, YOU TUNNELLED

I'm so sick of you unskilled killer mains complaining just because you cant outwit a survivor and then claim gen rush. I don't use hex perks, I don't tunnel, I don't camp and I very very rarely have trouble with gens.

  • Rin is not actually a "rage quit" machine as well as most survivor mains are trying to tell us. The real rage quit machine are the survivors by themselves. Every time they just don't like the killer they are playing against, well they DC. It's not matter of how strong is the killer, they DC even against killers ranged from weak to mid-tier strength cuz they just hate how his power is meant to be played to actually put pressure.

IE. I'm rank 3 killer, and I still get plenty of 2 or 3 hook suicide against Myers, who is just a fair and solid choice. When I look for their motivation, they rage on me becouse I play Monitor&Abuse to remove his TR in EW2, which you can counter by just staying aware of your surrondings.

Yes, it is, the proof is that it's frustrating forcing players to play in a single way

Survivors need just to stay on gen while a guy is chased to counter it, a slow killer have no beneficts from it and this useless vicious circle ends when someone decide to go for the totem. Is this really fair? The old skillchecks gave a challenge at least

New ruin has regressed more of my gen progress than old ruin ever did and its been out for a fraction of the time.

And yes, the whole point is it's either the gen or the unhook, etc. That's what makes ruin good. It's also very good when you chase them off the gen. It's still meant to slow the game down, but now it's not simply due to your inability to hit a skill check. It's due to decisions made by both the killer and survivor.

This is your fault in theory, i know holding m1 all the time is boring but I feel like it forces survivors and killers to just play in a single way, this is not ok in my opinion

    Ruin needs improvements
