  • There is currently not very counterplay exept a strong killer with a mori

If they don't fix gen times all games at high ranks will be nothing but a gen rushing fest with killers sweating with moris

  • @ClickyClicky said:

I agree with you totally. Very well thought out post, you put the argument across really well.

Firstly I need to clarify that this isn’t a co-ordinated campaign to get killers nerfed. I know it looks bad after Spirit and Nurse got hit but the DBD community is not a hive mind we all have our own opinions. I was actually defending Spirit before her nerf on other websites however I’ve always thought Billy needed a nerf. As for Nurse I was in the camp that would have been happy if they just tweaked her add ons. People that wanted Spirit and Nurse nerfed aren’t always the people that want Hillbilly nerfed.

As you say Hillbilly is probably the easiest to use out of all the strongest killers. He has too much strength for how easy he is to use. Nurse takes practise and Spirit is slow, Hillbilly is a bog standard killer so lag and bloodlust mean even if the player isn’t a pro he should still be able to do relatively well. Add to that his extreme mobility and camping potential.

I’m glad you mentioned he has the potential to be the strongest. It’s that potential that is the problem. Hillbilly can put a survivor into the dying state faster than anyone else in the game. Will he always do it? No, but it happens more frequently than you think. Just zoom over to a survivor, catch them out of position and then instadown. The fact that a killer can have a survivor on the floor 15-20 seconds into the game is absolutely ridiculous.

His snowball potential is too high and too frequent too. He has no cooldown on his mobility or instadown. So at a moments notice he can instadown one survivor, sprint across the map and then instadown another and suddenly the survivor team is in a lot of trouble. These kind of situations happen far more with Hillbilly than any other killer.

Theres no respite in a Hillbilly game. He zooms on top of you within seconds and you better pray you’re next to a pallet otherwise you’re going down. Then he just swings and swings and swings that instadown until he hits you because theres barely any punishment to missing it. If you manage to make distance he just chainsaw sprints back to you and then its swing, swing, swing with the chainsaw again. There’s no break for the entire game.

Oni was a much better design. He zooms around the map slugging survivors and building pressure like Hillbilly.....but then he goes on cooldown, and it buys the survivors a chance to make a counter attack. Theres a better flow there.

Hillbilly needs something so that he cant zoom anywhere he wants with no cooldown and then just keep swinging the chainsaw until he hits someone. Either give him a stamina meter or something so he cant go from one side of the map to the other and then immediately back again, or give him more of a penalty for chainsaw misses or slow him down a bit while charging like Leatherface.

Hillbilly nerf could be ok after massive map reworks, no way they could take us away our last fortress to have fun games, keep this in mind mrs. Kate. Killers want fun as well as their opponents.

  • I mean, they are balanced around rank 15

No way they are fair at high ranks, sorry but I'm not a potatoe

I find them boring to do as survivor and frustrating to go against as the killer

  • @megdonalds said:

Not really because I still meet sweaty killers with over 5K hours while I get matchmaked with potatoe survivors.

5k killers can still handle the game in few ways but most old killers are gone, as the old survivors as well, there are potatoes everywhere

  • @doodledot said:

In my opinion, no. If your a good killer and loop around the map and be good with your chases, you could easily win.

    rank 120

Reworking ruin because people cant hit great skill checks also removes skill from the game. Since the survivors are the majority it doesnt seem to be a problem to keep their training wheels.

I still dont believe a good killer can pressure all 4 at once. You keep saying they can but yet to give any examples.

I have 6500 in playing killers. As the Spirit sure I could pressure at least 2 survivor at once against strong swf, but if I would use Michael against the same team ouplayed with Spirit I could get max 1 kill.. 2 if they screw up for altruism plays in the endgame, as well as it happens...

  • We need something for early game and that's all.

  • On most killers i run Ruin/Surveillance/Enduring/Spirit Fury

  • @Rex_Huin said:

OP I think you have the basis of a really good idea here. May I be allowed to put the cherry on the cake?

To stop survivors hiding in lockers all match we need to make them earn bloodpoints. This can only been done by milking cankers which are placed randomly around the map. For every vial the survivors fill they get 1000 bloodpoints.

Killer gen stopping perks now effect cankers. Canker Ruin. Pop goes the Canker and Canker Intervention.

lol, you made my day xD

Yes, I forgot to point out the "camping locker" issue in the thread, but I think by reducing the 3 crows which alert killers to 1 could be a good fix

  • @kreeper124 said:

Meh I don't think this would work that well. People would just constantly be moving from locker to locker until the gates were open. No one would do chases since there wouldn't be much of an upside rather than just hiding. Now, when you get chased you give other survivors an opportunity to do gens. But without gens everyone would just hide and not do anything. No one would go for hook saves, since losing a survivor wouldn't be that bad. Just hide it out until the gates are open. Urban Evasion around a tree or rock, or just hide in lockers and you're set.

I might be 100% wrong but that's just my opinion

This wouldn't work if reducing the 3 crows which alert the killer to 1 when you stand in a place too much time

  • @LordCyphre said:

Title talks about the experience of new players but most if not all of these are only really annoyances for experienced players. You even mention high ranks. I am confused, what is it?

The issue is that.. new players are screwed if they get found, this change give them the opportunity to hide, without being punished and called noobs, get it? Meanwhile veterans have still their good times at running the killer around the map. I'd like some dev tell me his opinion, I can kick away my killer bias when it's up for the Balance so...

  • @Marcavecunc said:

Just slug and go open the gate yourself, countered the counter!

This is gonna be like "AppLy PreSSure"

Why you don't show me your slugging skill in Coldwinds? *survivor bias comin thru already* without forgotting about Unbreakable

  • I admit my Noed is powerfull, but it's a Hex, so it's perfectly fine.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1075102#Comment_1075102

NOED is very easy to counter. Cleanse the dull totems and then it's countered.

Yes, but I want actually to play the game with my hands, my grandma is not really interested at following a braindead instruction to counter one of the weakest perks in the game.

  • @Marcavecunc said:

No. There's already blood warden to block gates, don't need another one.

And what happens if there's only one survivor left and the hatch gets closed? Gate panels get blocked and the survivor is pretty much screwed since the collapse timer will kill them if the killer doesn't find them first?

Hardly see what's fun fair and balanced in your suggestion..

Blood Warden is very easy to counter, if I tell my grandma to leave the opening process at 99%, she had perfectly countered it.

See, in the other thread you told me I need to “git gud” I believed you used but here you are saying that a 4.6m killer is a “free defeat”.

I sympathise with you if you’re not enjoying the game but its likely your problem is due to ranks being messed up. You’re likely going against people with far more experience than you.

Upload some gameplay footage to youtube and we can analyse why the games fee like a free defeat. Message me privately if you dont want it public. Alternatively send the video to people like tofu, fungoose etc I think a lot do gameplay analysis for players now. Theres likely something your missing.

People I'm facing are not more experienced than me. Some of my chases last less of 20 seconds, they make mistakes over mistakes, but if they put effort in M1, most of the times is a undeserved win for them. If you pair M1 effort with high looping skill is 0k ensured.

If me as killer do just a couple of stupid mistake I'm currently risking to mess up my entire game. A lag issue prevented me to get an important hit? 1 more gen somewhere will be fixed. This is why killers are underperforming. For those who say Hillbilly/Spirits are OP, well, you mess up a couple of chainsaw/phasewalk for any reason? Never mind if it was your fault or something else, you messed, you deserved to lose momentum. Whilst survivors? Just do gens. That's all.

I've suggested a very smart change for NOED which could solve this situation but IDK if they will care, basically I asked if it doesn't one-strike players anymore and rather locks gates panels for 100/110/120 seconds to stop this braindead gen rush. It's a cool idea, but I REALLY DK if they will care.

  • I'd love to struggle but we are denied even to do this . Until you will don't play a single match as a standard 4,6 ms killer you will never realize how bullshits are blasting with your "Hillbilly OP" comments. Against good survivors is not struggle, is a free defeat, and you can't do so much to stop them unless starting with dirty tactics (which I hate)

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1074342#Comment_1074342

This is the problem. There is such a divide between where killers think the balance is and where it actually is.

You tell me I need to “git gud” but how many times have the devs come out and said killers are doing just fine? It’s not just the data they’ve explicitly said it a number of times. You really think if killers were as weak as you feel they wouldn’t be buffing them to balance out the game?

Killer will always feel more intense than survivor because you’re on your own and the workload isn’t shared out across 4 people.

The thing is though people like you have a tough game and then come here into this echo chamber and assume that the devs are survivor mains, hate killers, all sorts of conspiracy theories and believe that killers are massively underpowered. Killers are doing just fine....which kind of indicates that everyone else is doing ok then perhaps the problem lies with you.

Slow killers are a prank in the current gen rush meta, but this is fine... For one who's carrying biased thoughts sure, it's fine, but I want to play actually both killer and survivor. No way I'm forced to play your side to have fun otherwise I get bullied by M1 Simulator. No no baby Kate, no no.

  • "my team genrushes"

"good" survivors are always stomping M1 these days, for this reason we are running Mories

  • @lunaticlifter said:

Imho i tried out antigen build, but they simply don't work... it's just a placebo effect, the only close thing to old ruin is Pop, but it doesn't work on many killers.. wanna know what's my best way to get a ''fun'' and a decent lenght game? slug a lot with infectous fright.. but hey in the game there is a perk who counter slugging aka Unbreakable.. so my best way to win or get a chance is a mix with slugging, tunneling and proxy camping(to punish late saves).. So my conclusion? games are not fun anymore, with ruin i could play nice, have a fun game and get only 2k, but that doesn't matter, i care more about fun than winning, this is not a competitive game. The saddest thing is that you can get genrushed even by potatoes now... and no, adjusting toolboxes will not fix this issue. That's my conclusion.

    Mori

  • I can't be respectful towards someone who is derespecting the fun of his opposing gameplay part. Sure I keep complaining towards survivors being OP in some ways but I never come and say they should be nerfed into hell becouse I want easy 4ks.

Though, if I keep replying to his dumb comments I will probably get banned forever.

  • Hillbilly is OP? Yes, if you run in a straight line whilst he is rushing at you is OP as #########, but our boosted Kate main @ClickyClicky is one of that survivors which don't even realize when he is rushing to a generator and she get instantly crushed and stuck into the ground. I would stop listening a single word said by this guy if I were you and start actually looking at how much killers are underperforming after 3 or 4 patch-nerfs in few months. Most of them need reworks, others are balanced like the Hillbilly and don't need anything.. still others are a bit weak but still fun to play due their playstile (Doctor, Trapper, Clown) and Noed helps them against solid teams. Myers is in a mid way between weak and balanced becouse he has in-build Noed at least.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1072675#Comment_1072675

Didnt say keep him the same just agreeing that he doesnt need nerfs.

As for billy being the most balanced....lmao. That old meme.

    LF’s chainsaw is a balanced version of Hillbillys. Instadowns are incredibly powerful that’s normally why they come with restrictions;

    Haunted grounds - time limit

Make your choice - time limit

Devour hope - Need 3 hooks before totem destroyed

Myers - time limit, needs to stalk first

Ghostface - time limit, needs to stalk first

Oni - Time limit, needs to collect blood first

Leatherface - Unlimited uses and on demand chainsaw, but slows him down making it harder to hit and a hefty time penalty if you miss

Hillbilly - Unlimited uses and on demand chainsaw. Still able to keep pace with a survivor while using it and only a minor penalty for a missed swing.

You’re not meant to be getting an instadown on every hit which is what any decent Hillbilly gets. Killer mains have a warped view of balance.

Survivor mains don't even know what means the word "balance"

  • @Almo said:

Ruin did not "exist for a competitive means". It was just a perk like any other, and we didn't like the way it warped the game experience. So we changed it.

I can assure you it had nothing to do with how we felt about the game's level of competitiveness.

    Lie.

  • I hope they will realize someday to not listen to the community when it's up for the game Balance. All this trash community wants is easy game for survivors, a impossible match for killers with massive nerfs. Disgusting.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Leatherface basekit is fine, it’s just Hillbilly who needs to be nerfed into the ground.

I have faith in you BHVR 👌do what is right for the game.

Yes, everything which actually works need to be nerfed to let you sit there, press M1 and relax.

Personal thought, you need to refund the game under the ground.

Not that this comment does give any value to the Thread, thanks for reminding that pressing M1 is the most boring thing a Survivor can do. :)

Np, I hope you will DC a lot

  • @ClickyClicky said:

It’s objectively killer sided. The stats and data prove this.

Stats and data are not reliable at all, remember of all salty trash survivors who DC becouse X is OP and needs THE CLOSE LOOK

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yep, Freddy is most likely the Killer which is the best when it comes to the balance between Effort and Results. I think he is braindead, simple as it is.

    M1 simulator is skill

  • No calling for nerfs, suddenly ask for a nerf

    Ok boomer

  • Yes, I do. As stated from the others, it can be destroyed but at least it is insidious. No warranty you will get a 4 devour moris, but very often it let you get some insane insta-downs, some slugging potential if combined with infectious fright and moreover.. they stop doing gens. So, it is worth. Can't be compared with the early game pressure of old ruin, but defenitively better of it's current version

  • Since it requires to work as a mid-late gamr perk, we could try to make it trigger and spawn on the map when 3 gens are done, as well as Noed spawn when all 5 gens are done.

  • @Talmeer said:

    Kate and Freddy or Spirit.

Kate because she deserves it and Freddy or Spirit... The police would not be able to track, nor to put them into a jail^^.

For the most other killers would it be bad, if they would coming back. Police would cought them fast, I assume and then they would either sit for the rest of their lives in jail, or face death - depending on the law of the country where they got caught.

The police can't handle most killers, the only ones they could try to kill with weapons are.. the Legion, the Clown, Ghostface.. and they could stun for some minutes (but not kill) are the Hillbilly, Myers, Trapper and the Huntress... No way they could even touch the others

It's more about how much survivors can mess up without really sacrificing anything. His longest chase in the entire match was 25 seconds, yet they got so close to finishing gens and escaping.

He messed up his chainsaws 3 or 4 times and 2 gens pop. Your conclusion just sounds extremely biased to me. If they had all been amazing at loops, juking and making him waste time I'd understand your perspective, but it obviously wasn't the case.

If a 3000 hour streamer struggled to win this game what can all of us mere mortals do when in that situation?

I'm a 6500 hrs player and I'm facing same issues in this gen speed, I could get fair games with my Spirit (unless I get a full IW/BL squad) but going always for the same killer is boring. Fix the gen speed.

  • @Peanits said:

It would definitely be too much to be a non-hex perk. We aren't looking to change it to a non-hex perk.

It's definitely not just a late game perk, though. It'll get stronger the longer the game goes on and the fewer generators you need to check, but it can still be handy early on.

Could make it spawn on the map when 3 gens are done so?

  • @Almo said:

I just don't like getting found first. ;)

Well from future patch 4.0 we'll get all killer blinded

  • I could use the legion against you since i'm not using Hex perks on them in my current build

Have you tried actually gitting gud with him? I used to think Oni was one of the worst Killers in the game, but frankly, he’s one of the best. I bet you just think he’s bad because neither you nor most people are used to playing Killers with an actually reasonably steep skill curve.

I don’t typically agree with Scott on a lot of things, but this basic guide should give you some ideas how to play Oni.

Actually, my go-to build on Spirit is BBQ, Monitor, Pop, and Devour Hope. I don’t use Stridor because I don’t think it’s useful because unlike you, I can hear just fine, and thus I win for free.

When the bugged sounds started becoming really problematic, I stopped playing Spirit because I thought I would actually have to start putting effort into her to do well, and I played Spirit for that exact opposite purpose. However, I can still brute-force my way to a 4K without relying on anything except bugged audio just fine.

My personal favorite Spirit match was where I absolutely destroyed a team who had 3 Iron Will users with no effort whatsoever. It was pretty lit.

Monitor let your opponents hear if you're phasing or standing still becouse of the TR changes :') poor guy, go back to play the Oni into Gideon Meat's plant, if you call it "fun & balanced" I would just mark the word "fun" which doesn't exist in your vocabulary. GL at finding offerings to go there in your bloodweb

  • Iron will/Balanced Landing are most mandatory perks to stop the spirit and they both work as well against other killers

Every time i find those who are carrying one of them I have to guess their position and hope for the best. Stop complaining for an already nerfed killer.

I get Badham as Oni quite often, and I almost always Hulk smash the entire team. And even if Hawkins is annoying and claustrophobic, it’s one of the few maps in this game that are legitimately Killer-sided, so I don’t really see what you’re on about.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1060527#Comment_1060527

Spirit is the strongest Killer in the game and simultaneously the easiest to learn. Her ability is to disable the Survivors’ ability to see at her at all while simultaneously moving faster than a Sprint Burst user, and in exchange she has to use her ears instead of her eyes. If that’s balanced, then it’s a good thing gen times go so fast because if this game were actually balanced, Spirit would be completely broken.

Anyway, like I said earlier, I probably do more bullying as Spirit than I do getting bullied as Spirit, since most Spirit players are complete trash (hence why they’re playing Spirit), meanwhile playing as Spirit is basically a free win.

You have Iron Will, the new Balanced Landing, the sounds bugged on purpose by those clueless devs, Spine Chill, Quick&Quiet. Just looking at your previous replies you told something about Stridor on her, which tells me you never played a single round as Spirit becouse Stridor makes her misjudge their positions, scream pains are too loud. At least complain about father's glasses to give up a good argument. Nerfing a killer who brings a challenge to the game, means that this community is ridicously braindead.

  • At least, the Spirit is one of the most balanced killers in the game. She has a chase potential that the Hillbilly can see just in his dreams, good map presence with proper add-on. If you hate her, this could be cuz you get bullied by a very solid spirit user. Idk who, but sure he bullied you so hard that he made you feel stupid :) @Demogordon_Ramsay
