Nowadays killers just never leave their first hook, it’s like why even play killer if you’re not gonna chase anyone else and just babysit your hook? Not even that, instead of chasing the unhooker they chase the unhooked. Had a nurse tunnel me all game and it cost her a 4 escape. Why do killers play like this? When they play like this I have no sympathy or remorse for being a jerk to them at the gates
You mean why do I not wanna run your 17 tile marathon full of flashlight clicking, teabagging, and pallet stuns? I have absolutely no idea. This is truly a mystery.

The whole counter to Bubba is to not greed pallets and just drop them. A la, do not loop.
The counter to Bubba is a window. You can 100% greed pallets against Bubba. Especially since his saw has the loudest audio cue in the game after Nemesis' tier up sound.
In either case, that is not "anti-loop". There is no punishment to the Survivor for going for a pallet stun against Bubba.
-
The problem is not the rate of gain. The problem is the fact that the grind is a mountain that just keeps getting taller with every new chapter. We have been tossed literally nothing to help with the grind in.... well, ever.
The closest thing I got was the Anniversary Cakes to play "catch up", and I still need so much BP it wouldn't even cover Elon Musk's annual taxes.

Pyramid Head, Nemesis, Bubba
In what universe is Bubba "anti-loop"? Because it is not this universe.
Bubba has 1 power. The saw. That is literally his entire kit. It does nothing to a window and nothing to a stop a pallet at all. At BEST it can break the pallet, which is no different than kicking it.
Hell, you can pallet smack Bubba in the middle of a chainsaw sprint.
-
Bubba is one of the most balanced Killers in the game. Leave him alone!
-
I would buy a whole 20 dollar DLC that REPURCHASES Nightmare on Elm Street all over again if it gets me Robert's version of Freddy. Even if the perks were exactly the same.
-
The worst DBD take?
"Dead Hard is a balanced perk."
-
People hate RPD because it requires you to have an expanded memory equal to that of FOUR whole goldfish. They will then complain how "lost" they get in a building that only has two floors and two wings. Most pallets and generators are in the same spots, but let's complain we can never find generators. Also, there is ALWAYS an exit gate at the front. Like, literally every game.
Then, as the cherry on top, we will whine that while we cannot find anything at all and the place is confusing we will make an argument for totally random maps.

The emblem system that gives you grades actually encourage survivors to stay in the trial for as long as possible. You get better survival for living longer. I believe that if you leave early then you will not gain an iridescent emblem. Just a thought.
I believe this is only true up to 9 minutes of being in the game. This caps out after 540 seconds.

I have never had this happen in almost 1,000 hours of gameplay. Literally not once. Where are these so-called 4 man bleed out killers?
-
This is how I feel every single time I see a thread saying "That killer is no fun to verse. Their power is too oppressive".
Like, it is not supposed to be fun to have a Killer use their power on you. They are trying to kill you and it is supposed to be oppressive.

This isn't meant sarcastic in any way, I'm always happy when someone in our line of work can chill out like this.
6PM to 6AM shift. 4 hours of GO GO GO, then everyone goes to sleep and the rest of the night is monitoring. Pretty sweet gig. But if something comes up, it comes up. And if my Leon gets attacked in that time:
"If he dies, he dies."

You cannot compare camping, tunneling, or slugging (which complete objectives), to behavior that exists JUST to be toxic like teabagging.

Why? Because the people that plays the other role might find it too oppressive. Of course, there is not that many Pyramid Head out there... but having playing him a bit (i just bought him): i was shocked of his ability to deny BT and DS very easily, "since i could camp and tunnel a bit too effectively".
Okay, this word "oppressive" is getting thrown around too much. Let's circle back to something people keep wooshing on:
You are supposed to be oppressed. Killers are supposed to feel oppressive. THEY ARE TRYING TO CORNER YOU AND KILL YOU. This is not tennis.
-
Why is it unfair for Pyramidhead to do what he was designed to do? If you don't run hook related perks, it does not really do anything.

Are we not allowed to play with friends? Do I really deserve to get banned because I like to play survivor with people I usually hang out with? It makes no sense and it’s nauseating to hear.
I have over 1300 hours in this game and have never complained about SWFs in my killer games. If I lose, I either get annoyed by the map, bugs, or I just come to realization that I didn’t play well enough. It’s not survivors’ faults for wanting to play with their friends.
Sorry for the rant, but as someone who probably has more bias towards killer than survivor, I really get annoyed hearing that SWF is off limits.
Depends.
Are you just playing with friends?
OR
Are you playing with your friends while sharing a form of communication device such as Discord, Skype, or Teamspeak?
Because if it is the latter: congratulations! Your team is getting a shitload of information perk-free! And Killers have every right to be annoyed by that!
-
As a Survivor I don't run exhaustion perks. I think Dead Hard is for cowards. I only run them if a challenge makes me.
As a Killer I don't run Devour Hope. It is worthless. It never survives long enough to get any value out. Once in a RARE blue moon I might get the Exposed to work ONCE. Which, at that point, I might as well just run Haunted Grounds.

That's nice and all, but that's just adding another problem to the already existing problem.
Your only gripe with it is that you just want to do a tome challenge/daily because it absolutely cannot wait until the next trial, and you are seriously suggesting that the survivor who doesn't want to stay should just cop the dc penalty.
CORRECT.
If you want out, DC. Or suicide on hook. Do not make YOUR impatience MY problem.
-
The only thing wrong with No Mither is you should not START the trial injured.

I see Spirits still. I am on the fence about her nerf.
However, I do not think the community's reaction to the Deathslinger nerf is an exaggeration at all. That man was straight up assassinated.

It does, depending on the daily/tome challenge. Regardless, I'm relatively unconcerned with that since this is a solution to avoid wasting the time of the killer, and the remaining two survivors.
All three players would rather move onto the next trial than play hide and seek for however long it takes the killer to find the survivors.
Yeah, no. Not good enough to force end a game on me I don't want over yet.
If two people DC and you want out so bad, you can go right ahead and DC right after them if you feel that passionately about quitting. I want my bloodpoints and challenges done.

Do you guys really want killers to have no counter?
For some uses of powers?
Actually, yes.
Yes, I do.
A good "counter" should be learning to avoid Killers and not expecting every Killer to have some power you can easily workaround. This is why there are like 3 viable killers at high MMR.
-
Sounds like a neat way to screw over someone trying to get a Challenge or Daily Ritual done.
-
And yet Survivor Mains will try to tell you flashlights are the weakest item in the game and need a buff.
I assume this conclusion was reached immediately after sniffing glue.
-
Pyramidhead has the worst add ons in the entire game. The only one worth a damn is the range extender. And even that isn't much.
-
I would love to believe that we are all the same and play the "toxicity is equal on both sides" card, but we all know that is not true.
Hours and hours of watching footage of SWFs has taught me just how much Survivor Squads love to bully, harass, even send death or sexual assault messages to killer players. They absolutely delight in making the killer as miserable as possible because it is the primary source of entertainment in this game because "doing gens is boring".
I wish this was not the case, but it is. An overwhelming percentage of the time.
When I play Killer I am extremely kind. Now I 100% never expect kindness from another Killer. It is not in the job description. But I also do not expect Survivors to rub it in and make it worse. The last time I popped into a Survivor stream they were trying to find the killer and BM him with their flashlights, calling him a "cucklord" nonstop (whatever that means), and getting angry the killer stopped chasing them. I was praying the killer would just open the door himself to start the final countdown, and he did, but not until almost five full minutes of post-generator abuse had gone on.
-
Because if I let you die on hook, you cry in the endgame chat we let you die.
How are we supposed to know you wanted to die?
Not to mention if I have the choice between letting you die or getting 25% more bloodpoints from a stack of WGLF paired with Borrowed Time, I'm gonna take it.

If you're not going to chase/be chased, what's the point of playing this game?
Go play something else if you can't do the bare minimum.
The sad thing is I've seen good bubba players who don't face camp and they're scary good in chase. I'm sick of people defending face camping Bubba + NOED by saying "oh.. they can't deal with survivors, they just can't win any other way" like that's such bs and you know it.
I'm convinced that the people who employ this playstyle are just petty trolls and want to ruin the game for others. The sad thing is when it's done to survivors who aren't toxic, you're making them more likely to either quit playing this game or become a toxic player.
The game is not all about the chase. I wish people would dump this mindset.
The game was designed to be a stealth game where the fun is avoiding being spotted and caught. Did you never play hide and seek as a kid? Why is this such a hard concept for some people to grasp?

Yet even more suckers that didn't finish the video and got jebaited by the Jundster.

It does matter if it takes another person because that count for the items efficiency and item that takes 2 people to use is far less effective then an item that only takes one. You want to try and look at the item completely out of context which is pointless.
No I can literally hear where they are going and can make a move to put myself in a position to still make a play.
You know how often I 4k a 4 man flashlight team? More than I lose because they are so busy trying to get saves that gens aren't getting done. On top of that you got lightborn if there that much of a problem for you but I don't waste the slot for it because ill just look at a wall or bait the pick up.
You are trying REALLY REALLY hard to ignore the straight up objective effects of these items.
Medikit: removes health state.
Flashlight: forces a caught Survivor to be dropped with then gets a head start to get away.
These are objective facts.

With Map Offerings, you at least get to play a game. It might not be the most enjoyable one, but you get to play it. And, even if I dont want to promote it here at all, you can still DC without a penalty if the Survivors bring a Map Offering. If you go against a facecamping Bubba the only thing you can do is to wait out 2 minutes to give your team time to do some Gens (at least this is the most optimal way to do it...).
When it comes to camping because the Killer needs a Survivor out of the game and/or the whole team is running around the Hook (aka not doing Gens, so the Killer is applying pressure to 4 Survivors at once), this something different from "Ok, I hook this guy and facecamp him right from the start".
When it comes to your Percentages, those are a little bit flawed. First of all, a nitpick - the Killer does not have to go for 12 Hooks, they have to get 4 Kills. You can also slug the whole team and onehook them. Not really fun, not really skillful, but go for it.
But, the bigger thing, not every Gen is really 20% of the effort. It is 20% of the Objective, but not of the effort the Survivors have to do. The first Gens are so easy to do, but it can also happen that 3 Gens done fast can result in the Survivors losing the game with the remaining 2 Gens to go, because each Gen gets harder to complete, because the Killer becomes stronger during the usual flow of a game.
"The first Gens are so easy to do, but it can also happen that 3 Gens done fast can result in the Survivors losing the game with the remaining 2 Gens to go, because each Gen gets harder to complete, because the Killer becomes stronger during the usual flow of a game."
I am going to need you to explain this to me like I am four, because this makes zero sense to me. Gens do not get harder to complete. It is the same 80 seconds. I also don't see how the Killer gets stronger during the game. In general, I feel I get weaker as perks burn out and Hexes get busted. A Killer that runs Lethal, Corrupt, Ruin, and Undying can find themselves with zero perks after five minutes.
Survivor perks do not rot over time. Dead Hard is still the same load of garbage on the tenth chase as it is the first. Circle of Healing is the gift that keeps on giving.
The ONLY thing that seems to change is the total number of generators the Killer has to check on to patrol, and sometimes they can be five miles apart.

And then you walk up and smack them again boom wow 5 extra seconds. A med kit rest the chase and you get a second speed boost after hit which waste 20 seconds alone no flashlight has the potential to do that. You can also do it multiple times during the match and there's insta heal. And here's the big thing a medkit takes one person to use a flashlight takes 2 one on the shoulder and one to try and save.
It doesn't matter if it takes another person. We are talking about the power of the ITEM, not some scenario you are creating to try to make it sound harder or less efficient.
And no, it takes more than 5 seconds to hit someone after a flashlight blind unless they literally are standing there AFK. On some maps, that is just one vault and off they go for a length of time FAR longer than 5 seconds.
-
@Gamedozer7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2663837#Comment_2663837
Med kits and it doesn't take another person off a gen to do. And it actually take skill to pull of a flashlight save and it takes no skill to heal yourself with a medkit. Toolboxes can end the match so fast that those down where the flashlight save would of happend don't have a chance to happen.
Medkits do not undo an entire chase. They undo one health state. That is not even close to an entire chase.
A flashlight can undo the chase, the down, AND the hook. In THREE seconds. No medkit in the game can boast that kind of power.

Not even close they are just above keys. Unless the survivor goes down right next to another survivor with a flashlight on a gen then they are wasting time not doing gens which more than makes up for that blind and downing them again 5 seconds later and then putting them self in a position to take damage or go down.
Name me another item that can undo an entire chase.

if killer rituals are piling up, that means it's time to be the designated murderer and DM for the survivors. (obtuse bundle of references, sorry)
Honestly Killer has become so outrageously unfun the last six months that dailies are the only way to get me to play a Killer. I will do whatever it is I need to do, and then dip. You can have your four man escape. I just want my 4 hatchets/exposes/tier ups/whatever and then get out.
If survivors whine about how that's not fun for them, WELCOME TO MY WORLD.

''it defeats the whole point'' but the point is useless to me as it is right now. I never play alone so the system doesn't really do anything for me and has no point the way it is now, pretty sure I'm not the only one in the same situation.
A personal choice on your part.
The rituals are the game's way of saying "Hey, you play a lot of Killer. If you do this Survivor thing, you get some extra blood points!"
If you don't want to do a daily, you don't have to. They are an entirely optional process.
