Yeah I am amazed by all the people who thought this was serious and got mad at him over it. It says 7.0 when we are no where near that, and he says "On the PTB" when we know there is no PTB for a non-DLC patch like the new one, and then he even says during it "Did I write these?"
If there was a patch like this coming we'd all know and be talking about it lol
Not only that, but there is entirely too much stuff in this one patch. It would take an act of God signed by 2/3rd of Congress to get THREE of these changes in one patch.

Meg after spending 8 minutes failing to save any of her teammates with the flashlight and never touching a gen
Meg issue, not a flashlight issue.
The medkit can undo one health state.
The flashlight can undo one health state AND stun AND blind AND negate Killer progress.
The two are not comparable because a Meg is bad.
-
The flashlight is the most powerful item in the game and I am tired of pretending it's not.
-
If your whole team lost to a camper, your team was not playing very smart.
-
No, the scariest part about the video was the insane number of people that didn't realize in the first minute that it was fake.
-
I'd ignore it. A Survivor up there isn't doing squat. One less Survivor on gens.

Have you ever tried Bubba without some tactical slugging?
Have you ever put butter on a Pop Tart? It's so friggin' good.

You would think suddenly skipping from 5.3 to 7.0 would have have been a tip off.
-
I don't take anyone seriously that tries to decide whether or not someone gets to have an opinion based on the number of hours they have in the game. You are not automatically correct cause you have 2K more hours than someone, and this trend needs to die. It replaced the "I'm a rank 1 Killers...." and "What rank are you?" trend that was plaguing these forms a year ago.
-
The rituals are designed to make you play the side you play less of. This is on purpose.
-
Welcome to the current meta.
-
Well, let's see here.
Bubba can:
A.) Get a hook and guard it and wait for the idiots to come to him and control the game his way.
OR
B.) Run around like an idiot, eat a dozen pallet stuns, lose ten chases due to perfect windows, and then get teabagged and clicked at the exit game.
HMMMMMMM!
Doin' a big think here!

How to fix Dead Hard:
Use of Dead Hard should tear at the Survivor's injuries and trigger Deep Wounds. Dead Hard cannot be used if you are currently suffering from Deep Wounds.
-
@Murgleïs said:
You can’t.
Hag and Twins have been nerfed to the ground with the addition of boons. They were rare killers, now they are almost non existent.
In my experience when a Survivor says they think a certain Killer is fun to play against what they mean is "This killer is really easy to counterplay and we can waste their time easily until all 5 gens are done".
Unsurprisingly Hag is a 110% speed Killer with no chase power whose primary ability is hard countered by the toxic Survivor's favorite item: the flashlight.
Zero surprises that she is "fun to verse".

If the solution to anything is "you must DC or throw the game", then that's not a solution. Particularly when DC'ing comes with an escalating penalty.
Then what do you think the solution is to bodyblocking a survivor in the corner of the map for 3+ hours, out of curiosity?

1) An exploit is taking advantage of bug or certain mechanics of the game. Which they were doing because they knew I wouldn't make it to a hook and they just kept running back to that spot when I was stunned.
2) I'm not mad I literally just asked if I was the one being an #########.
3) I don't DC ever
1.) Only if it is unintended. Putting yourself far enough away from a hook to wiggle off is intended.
2.) No, you are not a.... whatever bad word you put under there. They are, but not for the gameplay but for the bad form.
3.) Well, that's a personal choice. But this scenario had a solution you elected not to use.
-
These threads remind me of those old "New MMO XYZ is going to be the WoW Killer!" posts.
-
1.) What they did was not an exploit.
2.) You really are this mad over farming for an event that will be gone in four days?
3.) If you felt they were "holding the game hostage", you could DC from the match. It sounds like if they were trying to stall you out, this game lasted a lot longer than the 5 minute time out you would have gotten.
At the end of the day people are allowed to play how they want. I don't agree with messaging people nasty messages, though.
-
Let's not pretend people want realistic animations when teabagging is at an all time high.
-
Oh dear. The poor plight of the console peasant. I dropped my monocle watching that clip!

Just had a game where a 4 escape turned into a 3k because we missed one totem how is this not a crutch perk for easy kills. Killers have had this broken perk for far to long and are outraged and entitled when survivors get good perks. Devs we demand a nerf or survivor queues are going to keep getting longer. Losing a game last minute because of a cheap perk isn’t fun
So the game is unplayable with NOED...
... except for the part that you played a whole game with all 5 generators done before NOED even activates?

I didn't really have an issue with old Undying to be honest.
I liked Detective's hunch and it's possible to finish all gens even with ruin active against most killers, but there are exceptions.
Only aura part was broken, I don't get why they nerfed both effects.
It's super rare to see it for me, it's usually used only in full hex builds, which are not that good imo.
I would imagine it is the same level of annoying some people feel when they complain about having to do bones for NOED.

Before the Undying nerf. I assume. I don't know. A very long time ago.

I'm fine with him. Knives are finite, and he moves at 110%. Main Event is also clunky to use and can be defeated with one good window.
I would say he is fair.

What? Also, it does use the missed attack animation if you land on a hit on a DH user.
If Nemesis attacks a Survivor with his tentacle, and the Survivor presses Dead Hard, they avoid the attack. However, the pallet does not break. If the pro-Dead Hard argument is "The validation means you never actually hit the Survivor", then the pallet should break.
But it doesn't.

I read the title and thought you were talking about the map.

Except it is mostly used in horrible situations to put blame on the victim of a tragedy, and here you are comparing it to losing in a videogame to an enemy doing their objective. If i'm playing COD, stay still in the open and get killed, and someone tells me to not do that. Its not victim blaming, its getting gud. Same principle here.
Very disrespectful to actual victims
That is not even remotely the same thing as what I am saying and your reaching is entering Mister Fantastic levels of elasticity.

I don't know what word you had under that censor, but victim blaming is.... anytime you try to turn blame around on the person being actually wronged in that scenario.

Except we're discussing a rank system, not the completely irrelevant bloodpoint reward that was added that would work with either system.
When I used the term "reward" it was painfully apparent I was referring to progression in rank.
How is that a reward and why does it matter?
-
@anarchy753 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2651243#Comment_2651243
That still has nothing to do with MMR, they could so easily have added that at ANY TIME, it's completely separate to the MMR system.
Yes. Doesn't change what I said. The old system was nothing more than epeen points. It rewarded nothing.

@Ussu said:

In the specific scenario stated, I couldn't go the opposite way. I was in a room with one door. Killer camping other side of door. I could see team mate auras on a gen just a couple rooms away. Attempting to crawl anywhere would have dragged killer with me and raised chance killer noticed the gen being repaired. I probably could have explained that in more detail the first time. My bad
Then you made a choice.
You could either crawl towards them, crawl away from them, or stay. All three of those things have risks.
-
@anarchy753 said:
I'd rather see rank back. It actually rewarded you for participating in all aspects of the game, and being a contributing teammate. Boiling everything down to "did you escape or die" is a gross oversimplification of the game that reflects basically nothing about skill.
It didn't reward you AT ALL. There was nothing you got for being Rank 1 over Rank 20. Blood point awards came with the new MMR system.
-
I have encountered this DC issue three times in 900 hours. It is not common enough to need a change.

I have severe doubt that most survivors like being chased with how they often complain about a killer "tunneling" them (ie continuing constant chases on them) stopping them from doing other things (IE holding m1 on a gen) you'd think if everyone loved chases, they'd welcome tunneling instead of crying they never got to chill on gens.
Because they want the smug feeling that they are outplaying the Killer and giving them whatfor!
Then they fall, and so do their tears.

All of those characters are hulking dudes with chainsaws or literal monstrosities. I don't think it makes sense for Amanda "squeaks when you hit her with a pallet" Young to crash through a pallet with her switchblade.
Somebody suggested her being able to dive through windows during ambush earlier ITT, and I think that'd suit her way better.
Logic doesn't ALWAYS work. Why does a Legion add on destroy a pallet by vaulting it?

@IlliterateGenocide said:

yeah but atleast they do something. keys nah.
Keys serve a great purpose. If a killer slams the hatch shut on you, you can spare yourself from terrible gate setups. It can literally mean the difference between escaping or not.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2649459#Comment_2649459
while i think new keys are the weakest items, flashlights and maps are also kinda bad.
Maps are 100% the worst item in the game. They do not speed objectives or affect the Killer in any way. The only real purpose they serve is finding totems, and ONLY the most expensive map will do that.
-
Honestly this sounds fair.
Nemesis can break pallets.
Billy can break pallets.
Bubba can break pallets.
Blight can break pallets.
Demogorgon can break pallets.
Time to give Pig the same treatment.
-
I agree.
The LEAVE MATCH button should be removed.
If you need to leave for an emergency, just leave your game running and step away. It won't hurt anymore to have your Survivor standing there doing nothing than it would to have your character vanish under a DC.
If you are held hostage by a hacker, do the old ALT-F4.
The button itself isn't needed.
-
I got weird matchups under Ranks all the time. We've all seen the "rainbow rank" games. And that is not even counting the smurf squads or boosted survivors.
-
I can hear Luke's voice in my head right now.
"This is not going to go the way you think!"
Your idea would not create build diversity. It just gates perk collecting behind anyone that started playing before 2018.
