I'm not on twitch...
Ah. Well, Twitch is full of people that GREATLY enjoy facecamping. You should check out SpookNJukes' Basement Bubba Tuesdays.
Anyone that says "No one enjoys facecamping" has no idea what they are talking about!
-
Because it was useless against characters like my beloved Freddy.
Honestly, it was one of the few times a perk was buffed like that in a way that was fair for both sides.
Borrowed Time is fine.
-
You dare question the sacred flashlights?
Don't you know the solution is to just face a wall?
That's right. Even if you are 100m from the nearest physical object, face a wall. Yup. Those are the rules, I didn't make them up.

Does not make much difference other than the Game map. NHL is going away soon I think.
It makes a huge difference on Midwich.

Camping isn't a problem because somebody thinks it's a strong strategy... it has more to do with taking a player hostage and not allowing them to play.
You need to look up what holding the game hostage means. Nothing on a timer qualifies.

I think that this game is best like D&D (shared storytelling) rather than an Esport. my point was to play seriously, but focus on having fun, and not victory. also, is facecamping honestly fun for anyone?
Yes. Are you new to Twitch?

Please add a forfeit option after ten minutes have past to prevent cheaters from taking the game hostage.
I agree. That is more than enough time, but then I have been saying for months the game needs a hard time limit.

It wasnt feedback, within the open sentence I said I wanted to discuss a ptb perk to see if it was any good or I missed something or if my original thought is right.
I never leave feedback, you dont balance at my level for starters and iv never had a change iv suggested put into the game and that's 4 years of feedback so the past year I haven't bothered.
Just because it was a DISCUSSION about a ptb perk does not make it feedback. Its annoying to have it moved when it isnt feedback, all it does is stop people seeing the discussion and therefore a pointless post
Everything in regards to content on the PTB is feedback, as it is content in production.

I rarely get upset at a Killer. For what? Doing his job? That makes no sense.
I get far, far more upset at terrible teammates. By far the worst is the unhook in the Killer's face with no Borrowed Time. I am concerned these people don't understand what a Safe Hook Rescue is and how many seconds it takes for you to get it.

No one does clicking for over ten seconds, “wasting minutes” on it sounds good on the killer side because they aren’t doing gens, doesn’t it?
You only need one of them to be an <EXPLETIVE> about it. It only takes two Survivors and a Prove Thyself to bang out every gen in about 5 minutes.
My point stands. A one charge minimum per flashlight activation retains ALL basic functionality without any loss of usage, but limits click-spammers (especially ones with macros).

ok now you got me speechless. my faith in humanity just regressed.
Because there are actually DBD players that enjoy playing the game? I have a clip of me playing Bubba the other night against a streamer, and I came at her in the House of Pain under the stealth of Tinkerer and scared her half to death. EVERYONE LAUGHED.
I'm sorry we fun people exist, I guess.

There’s just no positive reasoning for that and removes important game mechanics, just because “killers can be sad on how they interpret it” isn’t a reason, by the same logic there should be penalties to killers too such as slugging, camp or tunnel, which are game mechanics but the other side can hate it or interpret it in a toxic context.
You bring an item to get positive boosts and not to carefully use it because you could pay a high price for nothing.
Nothing I said stops you from doing anything you said. My suggestion just presents it from being spammable for minutes on end.

The killer can stay afk and do nothing but heck don’t ruin someone’s game just because you’re a butthurt bubba main!
Do you actually think Bubba facecamping is the result of being "butthurt"?
You've clearly never seen SpookNJukes "Basement Bubba Tuesdays" where he laughs his ass off.

What if you want to call the attention of a team mate or distract the killer to make them chase you or lose someone from sight for a bit
Then pay the one second charge. You can still do that. You just can't do EIGHT SEVEN TIMES like you can now. This would actually give batteries value. Flashlights already have ten times the shelf life of Medkits and Toolboxes as they are currently implemented.

Please think outside the box before commenting.
It ruins the match for all survivors, but especially the one (or more) survivor that’s getting facecamped. Because literally nobody is playing the game as it’s supposed to be played. Holding M1 on gens without interacting with the killer isn’t fun too. It’s boring and annoying, knowing someone is getting facecamped.
Holding M1 to do gens is the literal game objective.
Interacting with the Killer is up for the Killer to decide, not the Survivor. The Survivor's objective does not involve interacting with the Killer AT ALL. If a Killer doesn't want to do something you can't make them.
-
All they have to is code a flashlight to always consume a minimum of one charge when activated.
That is it. Flashlight is fixed. Boom.
This has no effect on trap removal, zombie blinds, or killer saves. Those features (which take a minimum of second anyway), would be totally unaffected and the flashlights' base function remains unchanged.
-
@Junylar said:
So you decide to bully the killer, but get outplayed by Lightborn? That's on you, bud, the perk is fine.
This.
I gave up one of my four precious perk slots to avoid Flashlights, but you cry about your item? At least you still have all four perks!
-
90% of my Killer games now are to do a daily or a tome.
So if my goal is to get 4 hatchet hits, I'm getting those 4 hits and then I am bouncing. This game isn't fun for killer anymore. At all. If you don't understand why after seeing these forums for the last six months there's nothing I can add that will explain it to you any better.
-
I am a super nice killer that does this all the time, but I have to say no.
Right now when I am nice the Survivors are grateful.
If you make this a thing, I'm gonna start getting Survivors EXPECTING it and I will start getting hate messages for not letting them go because I threw away free bloodpoints just to be an <expletive>.

So? it still works and ruins peoples games.
It ruins ONE person's game. It's a gamethrow on Bubba's part unless the Survivors are collectively stupid.
-
The use of "sweaty" as a pejorative is so weird to me.
-
Bubba is a perfectly balanced killer. One of the most balanced in the game actually.
His ability to down multiple people is based on Survivor stupidity. You can't down 3-4 people in one chainsaw sprint if you aren't all having a Survivor meeting.
He can be looped.
He can be defeated by windows.
He throws a tantrum if he screws up his sprint.
He has balanced add-ons.
If you get absolutely wrecked as a team by a Bubba, he either earned those downs or your team screwed up royally and that's not on him.

It doesn't look like you have a lot of hours then... I main both sides (Oni and Cheryl) and I can say that it is in fact a weak perk.
As stated before, it buys you almost no time (you can move what, one extra meter?) and often gets you exhausted on the ground. But if you mean that this perk is broken because it's currently a weak perk, then yes, I agree with you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2619570#Comment_2619570
Here's your reply, killer main.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2623032#Comment_2623032
Definitely not. If you played both sides, you would see that my suggestions could greatly benefit the current meta for killer and survivor. Most posts in this thread don't even try to counter my arguments - instead they just whine or post sarcastic replies.
900 hours, and no. The "exhausted on the ground" myth is still strong but it is just that - a myth.
Dead Hard allows you to blatantly ignore a hit, or guarantee an uncounterable distance boost to a window or pallet.
-
The solution is very easy.
Each activation of a flashlight consumes a minimum of 1 charge.
There, done.
This has no impact on flashlight saves or Hag trap destruction, but removes the stupid spam macros.
-
Every time we get a new map, please complain endlessly.
I don't know what people want at this point. Based on comments on these forums:
- No swamp maps. Unfair because you can't see traps from Hag or Trapper.
- No indoor maps of any kind. Even suggesting you like an indoor map means you deserve to be stoned to death on these forums.
- No daytime maps (because that isn't horror)
- No dark maps (because you can't see)
- No small maps (too easy for killer to pressure gens)
- No large maps (too much boring running)
- No low tile maps (killer can see you)
- No high tile maps (can't find gens)
I'd suggest a flat, blank, plain chess board but then people would complain there's not enough pallets.
-
The only time I find the loss of charges okay is while running Built To Last. And even then..... eh.
-
This is why the DC penalty needs to be stronger.

Then BBQ should have nothing to do with hooks. The Killer should have to go out of their way to do something else for tokens
Why would it have nothing to do with hooks? Don't you want the killer to go around and hook EVERYONE instead of camping and tunneling?
Your idea rewards the Survivors for something the KILLER does (kick generators). That doesn't make any sense at all.
Also, We're Gonna Live Forever is a perk about healing. What about doing gens for more bloodpoints has anything to do with healing, or living forever?

I don't get why people are so upset about a perk that moves you a tiny distance. These forums are full of killers who 100% don't play both sides. Dead hard is an overly punishing perk for newer players.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2599204#Comment_2599204
This post sums it up: "There's a reason Dead Hard has its place among the meta. At the top levels of gameplay, it is a fairly rare occasion when less than four survivors are running it."
It's only ever useful at very high levels of play, and still, it clearly isn't that good since experienced killers will wait for it and down you 2 seconds later anyways. This is why I think the proposed changes (especially number 2) would make it more dynamic.
I'm a Survivor Main, and I totally confident calling Dead Hard the most broken perk in the game.
-
This perk should have absolutely nothing to do with generators. At all.

This is the trouble !!
Let then deprive half of blood points for each camp
If the killer comes out with nothing then he will put them on the right motivation to look for others and not nightmare one poor player
I don't think you understand. Camping is for the kill, not the bloodpoints. As long as the game continues to be as hard as it is for Killers, strategies that work will continue.
-
Why do Survivors, the same people that say "You are not entitled to a 4K", think they are entitled to an unhook?
-
I like RPD. I got it all memorized in about ten matches. It's really not that hard. My only grip are the hallways leading to rooms with only one exit, so you have to move in a jagged 45 degree angle through the area. It should have a few more doors so it feels a BIT more like Lery's or Hawkins.
-
You don't need anyone's validation or permission to play the game the way you want.
-
I already don't run Exhaustion Perks. I'd be happy to see Dead Hard removed from the game.

That "very tiny distance" can allow you to uncounterably reach a pallet or window, on command, with no counterplay.
You cannot "wait it out". It's literally used to reach something. Waiting it out is literally what the Survivor wants you to do while they vault.

I don't understand the 3 hit argument. You can just do hit & run Nemesis by contaminating them and then leaving them. If they use the vaccine then they wasted their time and that's progress to becoming more oppressive because there are only 4 vaccines on the map that are one-time use. If not, then that just makes it easier for you
This wastes a lot of time Nemesis doesn't have. The amount of time you lose in that chase is greater than the amount of time they spend injecting the vaccine.
-
I can only speak for myself. But, here goes. I main Survivor now. I say this as someone that wanted to be a Killer main until over the last few months I felt how absurd it got. Now, because I mostly play Survivor, I get mostly Killer dailies.
There is no reason to play by the Survivor Rulebook if you want to get a daily done. The best thing I can do is get a hook, preferably in the basement. Then you wait for the fish to come. Then I can milk my Myers stalk, go for a Demo shred, Reel and Whack for Deathslinger, or whatever I need to do in order to get my daily ritual done.
"That's not fun for Survivors!"
It's not fun for me, either. But you've long since taken my fun away from me. I'm here to get my 4 or 5 X/Y/Z and get out. I don't even care if I win anymore. If you all escape, but I get my four Hatchets on you, fine. Whatever. I'm out.

If anything, it needs a nerf.
I used to think so. Now I think it just needs a total rework. No perk in this game should grant i-frames. Like, ever.

You cannot wait out a Dead Hard used for distance. Survivors literally count on you "waiting it out" to ensure a window or pallet.

Seriously people are being wayyy too dramatic about this change. All you have to do now is plan your shots instead of reaction shooting. He can still do everything he did before just as good as he always could. You can still reel around corners and zone. He just cant zone you solely because he exists. That was the problem before. It was unfair gameplay for the survivor side since all you could do was guess. You could only rely on the Deathslinger being bad at the game to not die. This change is just an objective positive for the game.
Maybe for Survivors.
For me he is now 100% unplayable. I wasted a lot of blood points on someone that now just gets run away from at 32m while I hobble around trying to catch you at my 110%. I'm just playing a Huntress now that has to reload a hatchet from her belt after every throw.
-
The third most run perk in the game doesn't need a buff.
