We are actually complaining about Ghostface? Seriously?
He is one of the most easily ruined M1 killers in the game. You can literally just expose him by looking over your shoulder and then his entire kit gets shut off.
-
There is no way you got gen rushed with a Survivor there breaking 30K BP.
-
[insert standard "not an airport, no need to announce your departure" meme here]
-
Lightborn.
I don't care what anyone says. There is something hilarious about watching a four man SWF lose their collective minds in the endgame chat because you "ruined" their game by taking away their precious flashlights.

Yes, definitely, when players in the end game chat complain that you sat in the basement the entire match with one survivors they're definitely complaining they didn't 4 man escape and not the fact that you prevented someone playing the match or whatever.
"t-bagging complaint? You're just mad you didn't 4K
Dead hard complaint? You're just mad you didn't 4K"
I have had many great games where I laughed and got a 0K because they were not doing either of those things.
-
Here is my compromise:
Add a a concede button, but you have a LONG exit time period, sort of like trying to log out of an MMO. So you can't use it to quit on a hook, or try to think you are cute by "robbing" the Killer. This gets you out of a hostage situation, but won't have you racking up 6 hours of DC timers.

Seriously think about it.
The perk was garbage before the nerf (people would just tunnel through it anyway) but now it's even more garbage cause it deactivates if you sneeze.
I'm here for the totem and gen deactivation but healing? Seriously? It should deactivate when you finish healing.
Those opinions aside, they should alter it since it's still trash.
Make it actually decisive.
(it's not called Lucky Strike)
Rather than a sad one-shot skill check, it should be switched to Active Ability key/button, and you should be able to decide when to use it. (Still with one use of course) It's meant to discourage tunneling, no? Well, what's more discouraging than walking to a hook laughing to yourself about how easy that tunnel was only to get stabbed before you get your hook?
I play both sides and I've never had a problem with Decisive Strike as a killer.
I think the only people who complained about it were those who actively want to and like to tunnel.
(Which I do on occasion as well, like anyone playing Killer does. But never once have I gotten stabbed and said "I didn't deserve that")
"Stab on command" would let bully squads time this perk to be used as an offensive weapon. So no.

So we just completely ignore that survivors action have no influence on gameplay, while killer actions are heavily influencing gameplay of one particular or more persons who are not at fault?
I don't even know what this sentence is supposed to mean.

"If you use X, you're bad" is a scrub mentality blaming/shaming tactic all kinds of players use, no matter if they're survivors or killers. You see people claim using dead hard means you're bad, you see people claim using NOED means you're bad and so on, and no matter who does it it's lame as hell. Blaming players for their grievances with the game itself, as well as trying to shame them into compliance at the same time is peak scrub behavior.
Not sure why you quoted me in that, since your post has nothing to do with anything I said.

That is definitely not true and the forum shows thus. How long have you been on here? Because If you were here long you would also see a bunch of killers complain about multiple legal survivor mechanics. Similar to how tunneling, camping and slugging are legal mechanics. To deny that killers don't complain about this is just bias.
Op has made a completely untrue claim that only survivors shame killers for trying to win when killers most definitely do the same thing
I don't remember the last time I saw a Killer shame a Survivor for trying to win. Unless you are incorrectly trying to claim that Dead Harding to a pallet with validation on your side, flashlight clicking, or teabagging are "trying to win", because those things have nothing to do with completing a generator. Winning for a Survivor is doing a generator and walking out the exit gate - and nothing more.

What is this "win" i keep hearing about what's a "win" please tell me because for me it isnt a 4k or 4 man out. Console players? Don't most PC players already hate them? Which is funny because it's framed as console players are bad when it's actually playing on console is much harder (way less fps, way less input sensitivity on controller compared to mouse) of course PC players always fail to mention that. So idk why you would complain about an ez 4k on these "bad" console players.
A win is getting a kill for a killer or an escape as a Survivor.
Source: the developers.

@dspaceman20 said:
"I've never seen Survivors shamed for playing for a 4E, or not thinking of Killers feelings."
That is not true. Killers also shame survivors for trying to win.
Killers shame survivors for using dead hard saying the person using it have no skill which is just rude and not true.
Killers shame survivors for playing with friends saying they are cheating and that it also doesn't take skill.
Killers shame survivors for using legitimate means and for sweating too.
Not to mention that most killers consider everything survivors does as Toxic and can say the same things. Don't make this behavior only a survivor trait.
Those comparisons are not even close to the same thing. Standard Killer complaints involve things that are just being a terrible person to get a negative response (Teabagging, flashlight clicking, bully squads). Standard Survivor complaints are camping, tunneling, and slugging which are actual game objectives.
-
I don't think you wanna open the floodgates of taking points away from players that do things others find unfun, or I'm gonna start knocking 1,000 BP from a Survivor every time they turn a flashlight on and off.
-
I see no reason why as a Killer I should not be able to see the hook counter.
The forum myth is "It will just increase tunnelling!"
I call bullcrap. Right now tunneling takes place mostly in one of two situations. The weak link you come across out in the open (Opportunity tunnel), or the "You ticked me off so I am gonna make sure you die no matter what" (Deliberate Tunnel).
Neither of these scenarios are based on information from the HUD.
What a hook state counter WOULD have helped with is me not accidentally screwing over the Steve I killed last week because I got him mixed up and ruined the pity farm I was giving the team after they got screwed over by a DC.

They are the only interesting thing left for some of us, it might be because we have played dbd more than we should have and it gets dull to camp three gens and map patrolling for hundreds of matches
It might be dull, but that's the intent of the game. The game design as intended by the devs does not change because you played the format to death and got bored.

no im sorry to break it to you but if you stack meta perks against meta perks its pretty balanced my guy
So the game should only have 6 perks on each side? Not sure I am with you on that one.
-
It won't happen.
BHVR is not an American company. It does not like bloody gore. And it caters to countries oversees that heavily censor violence. This game should be ten times more violent than it is but they hold back a LOT.
Look at how many mori animations are just "I hit you with my weapon a bunch of times".
-
Spine Chill does not care about line of sight. It functions through walls and barriers perfectly.
In fact, it would be kind of garbage if it didn't. It would make any use of it on a gen inside of a tile kinda pointless.
-
I don't think you understand camping at all.
The point of camping is to get a KILL.
Adding some seconds to the timer is not altering the mindset of "I am not leaving until this person is DEAD".
-
Very simple addition:
Using Dead Hard tears at your injuries and causes Deep Wounds.

Except, they are. That's how the devs envisioned it from the start. Survivors dont have different abilities/passives, but instead have access to items that they all could use. The comparison is basically making all the killers the same, but every killer being able to equip the power of another.
Flashlights are a core ability of survivors. Thats a fact. This alone makes them comparable. Saying items dont matter is like saying killer abilities dont matter. They might have a very different position of power in the game, but they are part of the same catagory.
If Lightborn instead made survivors unable to use toolboxes on gens and hooks, this argument would have been started much earlier since killers would consistently use it. Let alone that you and I both know that devs would have instantly reverted this change since it would affect a core survivor mechanic.
So why is the logic suddenly so twisted because its a flashlight? Lightborn is weak because flashlights are weak. But it's literally like using Saboteur against Trapper.
Absolutely 100% false and you clearly don't know what a "fact" is.
If flashlights were a "core" ability, it would be basekit in the game and everyone would start the game with a flashlight in their hand. They ARE NOT. They are OPTIONAL items you have to buy in a bloodweb and go away when you DIE.
The similarities between Killer powers and flashlights beign and end with where we see then placed on the HUD.
The closest thing a flashlight would be comparable to be would be a killer ADD ON.
So, no... it is NOT "literally like using Saboteur against the Trapper".

Where the hell are these lightborn complaints coming from?
I've seen far, far more people complaining about people complaining about lightborn than people complaining about lightborn so far.
If I run Lightborn there is a strong 50/50 chance I get nasty comments in the endgame chat. This crap is not fiction. Survivors get TILTED when you take away their flashy saves.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
I'm starting to think no one is complaining about lightborn and they saying survivors are just to make survivors look bad
Wrong. I get Lightborn hate constantly. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count all the times some Survivor became mouth-frothingly unglued in endgame chat because I "ruined his game" by running my "OP crutch perk".
Lightborn hate is very, VERY real but people keep pretending it is not.
Then you get people like Scott Jund with their enclosed argument of "I never see people complain about Lightborn", a man that admits he never runs Lightborn. Well, no crap. You don't run it, so of course you don't get the blowback from it.

Oh, so Trapper's change in patch 3.6.0 can be reverted then? Where sabotaging traps was removed from the game? Or heck, even revert the changes from patch 2.1.0, where Trapper's traps respawned after 3 minutes if sabotaged instead of being fully removed from the game.
Yknow, if Trappers want to place traps, then survivors can destroy them permanently, end of discussion. Right? Or do we now have a double standard?
It is not even close to a double standard.
We are comparing Lightborn (Perk) to Flashlights (Survivor Item).
and then you bring in Sabotage (Survivor Item OR Perk) to a core Killer ability.
That is not the same thing. That is not even remotely CLOSE to the same thing. You cannot compare a Survivor item to a core Killer ability. The two things are not equatable AT ALL.

Well going by that logic then nothing in the game is toxic. Bubba face camping in basement at five gens is directly advancing his objective by making sure that survivor dies so that's not toxic. Tunneling a survivor off hook because they have ttv in their name and looped you too long as you pass a survivor cleansing your hex and another about to pop a gen because you just gotta have them out of the match, not toxic. Bully squad of survivors not touching gens but instead locker stunning with head on while tag teaming each other and getting double locker flashlight saves a the match hits 45 minutes?
I mean come on you just gave a blanket statement saying that anything in the game basically isn't toxic as long as it's achieving an objective can't be done with ill intent. I'm sorry but you've got to be either trolling or delusional.
No, yes, yes, no.
The Bubba example is doing your objective - killing.
The Head On example is NOT doing your objective - generators.

@Anniehere said:
Right now what is considered toxic is tabbing CTRL and flashlights clicks. Provoking their opponent for attention.
The thing is, these things are an integral part of the game and the developers can do nothing about it unless they are going to change the way the flashlights work.
The chat is the most offensive and perhaps unnecessary because it encourages players to speak their mind in a negative way.
In any game, the players find something with which they can "have fun", "annoy" or show "I'm cool".
It can be from using emote immediately after getting a kill / jumping around/ keeping on shooting after a victory etc.
Players can find such behavior toxic as well. I guess the players in DBD were also looking for something similar to mess around with.
The fact that they are with 3 more people in front of a single player encourages them to annoy and bully, they find it fun more than the actual gameplay.
The chase is the fun part and they are taking it far.
When players come up with toxicity in the first place it is not the problem of the developers but the mentality of those players, these people need to work on themselves.
I wonder how the game would be without being able to crouch and use a flashlight. Will the game will stay toxic as it was before?

Care to elaborate? I feel like every one of those terms applies to dbd, the sheer number of threads on this forum and their general content seems to reflect that.
Let us just get the first one right off the table:
Any in-game mechanic, tactic, perk, item, add-on, or feature that directly advanced your objective through injuring, downing, hooking, completing a generator, working on a totem, or opening an exit game is not toxic, griefling, or ruining.

Literally everyone on PC has recording equipment. WIN + G is built into Windows. Only a consoler would have this problem.

I would be super, super careful with trying to tap other cultures as inspiration for Killers. That is a minefield of offended people waiting to happen.
-
Baby Dwights get leniency.
Nea must die. Hard tunnel if her outfit looks like she got into an accident with a paint truck.
Feng must die. Hard tunnel if Bunny Feng.
-
This entire mindset hinges on the false argument that you are entitled to a loop.
You are not.
-
Are you saying you should be allowed to just straight up unhook in the Killer's face? What?
No. No, you wanna get that bold you roll the dice on a grab.
-
As a Survivor:
When my teammates are doing nothing. Like I am on a hook, Killer is in a far corner chasing someone, teammate is coming to get me, and a rando is crouching behind a desk not even in the Killer's terror radius?
What are you doing? DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Do a dull totem. Loot a chest. Literally anything is fine!
As a Killer:
Just leave. Please just leave. I am not coming to watch you twerk. I will stare at a wall in the basement and ALT TAB to go get a Coke from the fridge. So do us both a favor and #JUSTLEAVE.

In survivor lobbies, it would be helpful if survivors could see the gamer tag of the killer. Not what killer they’re playing, just the gamer tag of the player.
I hate having games where I’m playing against the same killer from the match before and they have a personal vendetta against me because I escaped or something like that and give every other survivor special treatment while bullying me the whole time slugging me for a long as possible, trapping me in corners, picking me up, dropping me, and downing me in a loop over and over and the survivors can’t help me even if they try.
It would be nice to at least see the gamer tag so if it’s the same person who abused the game and held me hostage, then I can leave the lobby instead of having to go through it again.
Holy mother of God what the hell have you been doing to Killer players?!

@CashelP14 said:
I disagree with the statement the devs are survivor sided. All I notice is when killer is buffed, you'll get a few thank you threads, then nothing else. Whereas as soon as a killer is slightly nerfed, everyone goes mad for months.
I remember when the hatch and keys were nerfed, the thing every killer complained about, there was hardly any word about it. All people wanted to talk about was how the killed Deathslinger and Spirit.
Do I agree with all their changes? No. The newer maps have all been stupidly big and survivor sided. CoH needs a nerf also. I also don't understand why they nerfed Wraith either. However I feel like people complain too much about killers/add-ons that they rarely used before their nerf.
Because Moris were murdered out of NOWHERE, completely making them useless in every way except maybe ignoring Decisive Strike. We were told the other shortcut - keys/hatch - would be nerfed as well to make things fair.
Well, they didn't. They sat on that for months and months and months, under the false narrative that "the key nerf that is coming is far more complicated". It wasn't. All they did was slide the spawn to after the last Survivor is left. And somehow that took the better part of a year.
So when it came, we weren't all like "YAAAAY!" we were more like the person that has stood in the rain for three hours waiting for a tow truck, growling "About bleeping time." when it finally arrived.

ye but then in the last sentence you mentioned the cakes as a "catch up" so thats why I thought you didnt realize the other ways to get more bps that has been added
My point is that they sometimes give items with a 25% or 100% or whatnot temporary boost to BP. But the increase in grind is GEOMETRIC. A standard chapter is 1 killer, 1 survivor, with 3 perks for EACH. That is 9 new perk levels PER Survivor and 9 new perk levels PER Killer. Multiplied by the total number of Survivors and Killers in the game. You literally cannot keep up with that rate of expansion just with some event BP.

That is not true at all, dbd has implemented ALOT of ways to gain BPs these days. Sure its not the end solution but they are trying to give us more Bps compared to back then. You have now:
- Every event grants you some sort of way to gain extra Bps, if its a double blood points event, offerings (cakes or halloween event) or ingame actions like the snow mans atm.
- We have the Tome where you can do extra challanges that give you a decent amount of Bps, from 15k-60k each challange.
- Dailys give nowdays WAY more bps than it used to, back then you got 10k for a daily, be happy with your 30-50k dailys today.
- And they release some codes every month or week here and there for free 100k or more Bps
Again I dont say the grind and Bps gain is perfect and doesnt need change but it got improved over time and they are still working on it.
It is true.
I stand by my statement.
They have done nothing to help with THE GRIND. I literally said in my first sentence the problem is not rate of gain.
