They should also count DCs as 2-3 hooks, as it seems fair, as you need 10 hooks to get a iridescent devout.

Then killer DC's should count as a couple gens and chases. Survivors already get significantly less bp than killer, it is the primary reason I switched over.

As for the ranking system, it won't matter until there is a reason tied to it. I could not care less about rank. I'd rather lose rank and have fun then rank every match. Pips mean absolutely nothing, whether they are easy or hard to get won't matter.

The problem in this game is there is very limited code of conduct. Maybe I'm just old school and was raised in an era of sportsmanship and a level of decorum, but a lot of this game's issues would be lessened with an enforceable code of conduct. Such as taunting after matches, unnecessary taunting during matches, hard camping without doors open, tunneling, etc. All of these things are toxic and promote bad game play and DC'ing.

That will never happen though, so we deal with it. This company wants to make money. If they hardcore ban and punish for every DC, they lose players, and therefore revenue. Get over it, and move on.

A hacker killer would be nice, it should be like a doctor that breaks the fourth wall messing up with your TV

Problem is, the Hacker killer would get winded 10 seconds into the chase, then protest that he has to chase people. Physical activity is not his/her friend. haha

This is why we need nerfs and mechanics that affect optimal survivors too or even more than regular survivors. For instance optimal survivors don't give a ######### about RUIN or stuff like overcharge or hitting their DS etc.

The answer wouldn't be to make these things harder but to rework them so that they affect everybody the same.

Good point. Not sure how they would pull it off though. Average survivor is nothing like the optimal ones.

  • I rarely see the true "gen-rush". SWF with engineer tool boxes, BNP, etc. 3 Gens are done before I set the second trap. 4th is done by the time I see someone, fifth is done by first hook. Just became an end-game match.

Those happen, but less than 10% of the time. Most of the time, they don't get gens done that fast. Are gens fast, yes, but what is the counterbalance if we slow them down? Already the survival rate is below 40%. How low does it have to go?

  • I have a love hate relationship with DC'ing. I hate the generic DC because you got downed too fast, or you are just mad that you are going to die, or you missed DS. Heck, I see a lot of DC's as soon as I log in, and it can't be because Trapper is so OP.

On the other hand, I kind of understand when I'm playing survivor and another player DC's due to hard tunneling or camping. It is miserably not fun to be camped/tunneled and destroys the spirit of the game in the same sense that a hit squad that hunts the killer with flashlights does.

I'd rather see the devs come up with some hard answers to those styles of play than produce another broken killer. Shame we won't see that though.

  • Terminator - Power: Survivors start in dying state. I'm sure Tyde will find fault with it though. lol

Seriously, Terminator would be a fun one. Especially if he could appear as any survivor in the match for limited amounts of time. Suddenly Nea is approaching with a terror radius. lol

  • No. This new killer is a great tunneler. They will just toss in a smidge of slug to counter DS is all.

  • True is a bit too biased for me. I've only played her twice, so I can't say one way or the other, but weak is not my first impression. Not OP either, but not weak. True thinks everyone is weak if they can't shut down survivors within 2 gens. He is getting worse in his crankiness as time goes on. Soon, he'll be just like Tyde.

  • Not really. Depending on the map, it could hurt trapper to a degree. I prefer to quickly start setting traps in the area in order to prep it. Lose 2-3 gens in the process, but bog the game down in a nightmare playing field in the meantime.

If 3 gens on the opposite side of the map are locked down, that means I have to travel way over to that side in order to set the field. I'll likely lose a gen or two before two traps are even set. I'd have to see it play out, but I'm not sold on it being a buff. Not without having 2-3 traps to start with. Hard to set traps when you are chasing people off gens from the start.

Because the first tier was garbage

I rarely find clowns funny, but this one has jokes. Tier 1 was still useful because it gave BP boosts. I mean, how many times have we heard that it is only used for BP boosts?

  • I'm predicting a higher dc/suicide rate vs Legion.

  • If you remove all the fountains, or corrupt them for the rest of the match, it is pretty much auto 4k. Not going to work.

  • They toyed with closing the hatch, it results in nearly all survivors dying. Look, the hatch is fine. If I get you down before you get to the hatch, great, escape and we go to the next match. It is earned by doing enough gens to spawn it, then finding it. If I stop you before you get there, congrats to me. Hook, end, next match. If we both get there at same time. GG, go, next match. My ego does not whither at a 3k.

The hatch fits the horror genre. In every movie, one person escapes by sheer luck, or through slim circumstances. The hatch represents that escape.

Oh, if I'm the survivor the killer is hard camping the hatch, I'll go do gens. Again, not going to have a unit measuring contest at the hatch. It is purely egotistical and stupid.

  • 2 seconds. I don't care if they get away. 4k is not as important as having fun and getting to the next match.

  • Agreed. I enjoy a good gimmick build, or just screwing around.

  • Why keep bending over the one killer whose power can be destroyed and is limited to spacing on the map? It was said that this has been in place, but I have not noticed a change in Trapper's ranking over the past month. I still rank pretty easy.

@Warlock_2020 Make all survivors sick - The pools reset

Also corrupt purge is a limited used power up.

The corrupt purge hardly makes you any stronger than a standard huntress.

Still not a free heal. Takes 6 seconds, and comes with a price.

  • Fountains equals free power up. If the survivors use it too early, it makes the match hell on them. Get as many sick early, and they are forced to try to work through it, or make you a living nightmare.

Seriously, does anybody understand the strategy here?

  • Nope. Legion is boring. Boring to play, boring to play against. He had some fun perks, but his power is just plain stupid.

  • That's the one perk I thought was going to be fun. That's a shame.

  • She seems fun to both play and play against. A lot of strategy can be infused into both sides. It is only the locking down of half the field for 2 minutes that concerns me. Will see after she is played/tested more.

  • Too long and not brutal enough. LF is still my favorite. This one..heck, could almost do a 3-man gen in that time.

  • I play both killer and survivor. 70% killer, 30% survivor. I see people DC/suicide all the time to Legion simply because he sucks to play against. He makes the M1 grind even longer with little to no counter play.

If you really played both, you would know that pushing the survivors to one side of the field is not an answer to the so-called gen rush. It is only going to increase the death rate, or make matches painfully long. That will increase the suicide and dc rate even more.

As for will it be meta? How many killers cry about "gen-rush"? They will flock to this perk at first. We'll see if they keep it. Personally, I rarely see true "gen-rush" because I focus on pressuring gens asap, or when I run Trapper I let them have half the field while I work to set up the other half. Then the fun begins.

From what I read in the patch notes, I think they pushed it a bit too far. I like the idea of making ranking up a bit harder. It just seems like they went a bit overboard.

That is what BHVR always does. Whether it is with perks, powers, etc. They have no quality control team in their development process. In other words, they don't utilize critical thinking processes, such as devil's advocate or brainstorm, in order to think of how things can go wrong. Instead, they go overboard, or hardly move at all.

  • I think Plague's power is fascinating and could be fun to both play and play against. It calls for strategy on the side of both killer and survivor. Do you cleanse yourself asap and empower the killer early in the game?

That said, I think her perk that locks down 3 gens for 2 minutes will result in lots of suicide on hook and DC's, no matter who runs it. That perks is too long with no counter. Stealth is not strong enough to evade with the likes of doc, or some of the faster moving killers. Trying to do gens on half a map is not really going to be an option either. Imagine trying to work half the map with Billy, Nurse, Spirit, or Legion running all over. Or Doc making everyone reveal their location all the time?

I think the killer is good, the one perk may need to be tweaked.

  • Too long. We already see 3-4k in most matches with a 30-40% survival rate. Pushing the survivors into a 2 minute period of either hide and seek or trying to work within half the map will drop that even more. Imagine Nurse, Billy, Spirit, or Legion with this perk. It will be nuts.

As for the stealthy part, stealth is a joke now days with all the aura perks. Add in her own perk of making everyone scream...Seriously, put this perk on Doc and forget stealth.

Hell, this perk might just be the Freddy fix.

  • @Bongbingbing said:

I think she's fine it's just the fountains giving a free heal that's the problem.

The fountains make you more powerful if they heal in it. It is not a "free heal", it comes at the price of increasing the killer's power.

Everyone always jumps to bs conclusions about free this, or free that. There is a strategy here. You want them to use the fountain, you then empower yourself. If they do it too early, they are hosed!

Wait, are you ######### kidding me? Like, they cant if its lag switch or legit lag, or you mean they really just dont care?

I saw they wont ban for streamsniping, which is absolutely cheating, but this too seems unreal.

I have no heartburn over stream snipers. Never done it, but streamers can't complain if they are advertising their stream and someone uses it to get an advantage. Should never be bannable in any game imo.

  • SWF's! OMG! Those evil SWFs! Seriously, most of my matches vs SWF's are fun and not filled with hit-squad players. Just friends goofing around. Without SWF, this game would shrink to the point you would wait an hour for a match.

  • For every one time you caught one, you missed one 5. Seriously, I am always shocked at how many killers walk right by.

  • No. I don't miss anything about it. It was a horrible event that brought out the worst in survivors and killers. I'll completely skip DbD if they do that one again.

  • The problem in this game, is not all DC's are alike. I don't like DC'ing, but if I'm in a survivor match and the killer is being a complete ass, like slugging you and shaking his head yes while camping you on the ground. From the start of the match. This is not someone trying to play the game, this is someone just trying to grief other players.

WTH should I stay for that? Why should this behavior be rewarded? BHVR has to realize that some of this taunting goes beyond simple game play. It is one of the top reasons I stopped playing survivor. Toxic survivors are easy to put up with. Chase them out and it is over. Ignore the salt in end game chat and no worries. Killer is the only reason I stick with this game. Most of the survivors I played with quit a long time ago.

EDIT: BTW, I did not DC in that scenario. He even waited for me to be almost bled out, then hooked me and face camped. Keep in mind, I don't teabag, and if I'm looping, it is only to get away. I looped him for about 45 seconds. Had no item on me. I've faced this guy several times, he does this to whoever he faces. Pretty good job so far....

  • So tired of hearing the crying over hatch. The hatch is fine as it is. I either stop them before they get to it, or they get to it. The only time I'm bothered by it, is when a survivor who did nothing all match gets it and did it by letting another die. I try to hunt the ones I have not seen down when I feel it is going to be a hatch game.

Honestly, the amount of 4k matches lately is astounding. I don't know what all the crying is about the hatch. let it go.

You know when you call me a kid you sound like an idiot, I'm 26 Dipshit, you'd know that by the name. You think surviving is hard? I didn't say killing was the hardest thing in the world, but when I do my job, I expect to get the kills that I rightfully earned. DCing blocks that, and can royally ######### up achievements and rituals in the process. Your comments have no meaning, and honestly drop my IQ reading them at all. Just stop, every time you fall back to having to use an insult it just shows how dumb you really are.

You're 26 and think/act like this? Still a kid. Relax, you will understand what I'm saying eventually. You are being overly dramatic about your situation, and you don't see that you, yourself, are acting entitled to those kills.

  • ROFL! Put in work to get your kills? Bro, I kill people by accident when I'm just putzing around. Killing in this game is too easy. I 3-4k without perks/addons. Most killers do the same. You know why? It is easy. Not work. You put in time, you get rank 1. No skill required.

I wish I could be a fly on the wall when this kid realizes how dumb he sounded 10 years from now. lol

  • That is one ugly woman - and I'm a Hispanic guy. lol

  • Trapper (I like the challenge when facing good survivors. Forces me to think outside the box in order to catch them in traps. More strategy in the game play to me. Needs to carry an extra trap as standard build though.)

Any killer but Legion, Billy, Nurse - Too easy with those three.

    Survivors - doesn't matter.

  • Seriously kid. You need to check your own entitled attitude. You are not entitled to kills either. Don't get upset when a 4-man hit squad with adrenaline, DS, etc, etc owns you. That is this game. If you are going to post about each encounter, maybe they can open up a section titled "Lyros' Diary Entries". Doubt anyone will read it unless they want a good laugh.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

There are very few players that read the forums, just do what you need too and what is the best solution for you, that's your choice.

This, plus there are even fewer survivors who read the forums. Easily 70% of the people on here are killers, or play both. Very few survivor only players. Most survivors are likely casual players, therefore are just trying to have a bit of fun. They are not hardcore like Lyro here is. His life depends on this game!

  • Lyro is a special kind of killer. He wants us to know that he will kill survivors.....wait...isn't that what we do anyways?

Nobody cares if you will be merciful or not. Write it in your diary, then read it in 20 years and cringe at yourself. :)

  • 2 minutes is way too long. We already 3-4k pretty easily, having almost half the gens locked down on one side will make it so easy as killer now. Just guard half the map and get 1-2 down. Slugging is going to become meta, especially with the new ds changes added in.

I don't like this perk. It could make matches too easy. I'll wait and see on the test realm.

  • I like that it discourages tunneling, but doubt it will have any impact on it. You will just be slugged and then hooked.

I think it would have worked better as a counter to iron grasp or agitation. Either slow the killer considerably when carrying the survivor or cause struggle bar to fill considerably faster.

  • Honestly, this will likely hurt Trapper, at least the way I play him. I need the first minute or so to set my chosen area of the field. Usually close to where I started where 3 to 4 gens are located. I keep pressure on those gens without dedicating to any chase. I set the area with traps, then pushed them off gens on the other side to come play in my yard. They usually get 2 to 3 gens done, depending on ruin and the survivors themselves. But now I can take control.

This perk would be a huge monkey wrench in that strategy. I often have to adapt due to a good SWF refusing to work all gens on one side, but that is rare. This perk guarantees a delay in my ability to clear my side without travelling further in the beginning. Won't be running it, damn sure don't want it as base.

  • Gen Rush does not exist. Survivors have only one objective, fix gens. Are they supposed to run laps around the map just to give the killer time to find them? Thos is a silly made up notion. Maybe we are also supposed to follow survivor rules and close our eyes while counting to 60 after hooking someone. Nope.

The problem is we get used to bad survivors who hide and don't hit gens. We form bad habits of tunneling down one survivor in a 3 minute chase then scream gen rush. Be unpredictable and get them off gens. That slows it down more than anything.

  • I hope her power is not as strong as you think. She seems pretty interesting, but we don't need a nurse level killer. Honest killers can admit that 3-4k is already the norm. I don't want the lobbies of red ranks to spread beyond due to survivor fatigue.

That said, 2 perks greatly concern me.

    1. Corrupt Intervention: This could quickly become the meta as it will be seen as a counter to supposed gen rush. It directly counters the reason of one of shroud offerings, and likely will force games into hide and seek for a bit. This will be great for Trapper, Hag, and others while being extremely OP on Nurse, Billy, Spirit and Legion who can all cover distance fast and lock down interior gens. Do they ever play devil's on how these perks interact with other killers and perks?

Solidarity: Nerf healing, then give healing a seriously powerful perk? This will quickly be meta and is way better than self care. Will this interact with heal-boosting perks like We'll Make It and Botany Knowledge? Two injured survivors healed in less than 10 seconds. This will be a truly legit reason to camp the hook as it is the only counter to slow down that perk. Again, consequences of one perk don't seem to be taken into consideration.

    Counter Ideas:

    1. Corrupt Intervention: The entity causes one generator per tier to automaticallt begin degenerating when no survivor is working on it. If an effected generator is then kicked, the rate of degeneration is doubled. Only one generated is effected at a time per tier level of the perk. This makes the perk effective all game, and extends the game. Furthermore, the survivors may not know it is active for some time, and when they figure it out, they have to make tough choices of leaving the gen to save or staying. Furthermore, this encourages pushing survivors off the gens instead of camping the hook.

    2. Solidarity: This perk purges one status effect per tier from the user each time they heal another survivor to full. This encourages team play as a way to slow down the new killer powers, and does not break healing vs other killers.

I just don't want to see things out of hand. I think these perks could be very damaging and seriously alter gameplay.

  • @Dspigroach said:

    Bait.

This is a discussion in which thoughts and ideas have been shared for several days. No trolls allowed.

  • I had e run matches where all I do is protect my totem for fun. Those are honestly some of the more fun matches. Had one recently where Uncle Bill and cousin Meg ignored gens and kept trying for the totem. It was in the 2 story hit on Azerov's map and I was running Hag.

We had a blast. Was a fun way to change up the game. Special mention of the Feng and Jake on Coal Tower who dedicate themselves to that totem. Feng eventually got it, but at the cost of Jake's life. Another fun one.

  • Same argument that was made with DS. Crutch perk that has huge influence and rewards bad play. Most NOED users are huge campers who sit on the hook most game. The answer to camping is to get gens done and leave, don't prolong the game and don't get altruistic. NOED rewards camping as it blocks that counter.

I used NOED when I was first playing killer. I figured out that it was holding me back and I was relying on it to cover up my crappy play. I stopped using it, and improved greatly as killer. Most of my matches end well before gens are done now.

NOED is a crutch perk and should be reworked.

  • @PiiFree said:

Yes, getting camped and tunneled is annoying but so is getting looped and gen rushed.

If Survivors piss me off by looping & gen rushing, I will not hesitate to tunnel or even camp. If you finish 2-3 gens on my first hook, you can expect a very unfun match for everyone,

And it's just the simple truth that most if not all Survivors will loop whenever they get the chance to. Where is their empathy in that situation? They can loop a Killer for 3 gens and laugh about it with their friends but then complain when you camp them.

Naturally, Killers will start to lose any sympathy for Survivors once they went through lots of such matches.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind looping and I know that "it's part of the game!" and "just Survivors trying to escape!" but so is camping and tunneling "just Killers trying to get kills!".

If you choose a playstyle that will annoy me, I'll use annoying playstyles aswell.

    TL;DR:

Do you loop and/or gen rush? Prepare to get camped, tunneled and/or slugged.

Not sure what you count as gen rush, as there is no option to work on outside of gens, and maybe some totems. Yes, I work on gens. As for looping, yeah I will try to escape, but I tend to try to evade more than loop. No teabagging, no flashlight spam, no taunting, just trying to play. Most killers now days resort directly to camp and tunnel, which is super boring or frustrating depending. I've pretty much stuck to killer since this post. My family got bored with either being camped/tunneled in every match and either holding M1 all game until escaping or sitting on the hook all game. No chases, boring. Just fewer survivors is all.
