I think it would be good for Demo to be able to manually destroy his own portals the way Trapper picks up his used Bear Traps.
That's reasonable

His shred should be harder to avoid, but I don't want him to be another add on dependent killer.

I would like the global teleport announcement to be removed. I dont enjoy playing Demo due to his footsteps, but it's not hard to counter him when he jumps portals.
Why would you like this to be removed? Let's remove the indicators for other killer powers and see how that goes.

Well all survivors are the same character, hag and billy are just one of many. Sounds are far from a simple solution and will likely require some form of engine fix. Thanks for admitting you only care about your biased narrative and you are not open to logical debate over the matter.
-
Slugging is fine, but doing it for the guaranteed 4k is in poor taste. What the survivors did in this scenario is definitely in poor taste.

Love playing as: Ghostie, Billy, Trapper
Love playing against: Demo, Nurse, Billy
Hate playing as: Wraith, Huntress, Bubba
Hate playing against: Meyers, Hag, Trapper

As a newbie killer playing against way better survivors, yes they are way too fast. Some games 2 or 3 pop before I even get my first chase in. But when I play against survivors equal to me I would say the gens are good.
It would be cool if gens went slower the higher ranks survivors are compared to the killer.

I have always heard the statement "Just pressure the gens" but you will realize how ignorant this statement is the more you play the game. I think this comment from Otzdarva's newest video sums this up the best:
"Just pressure the Survivors, but make sure you never slug because they'll have Unbreakable, make sure you're never near a hook when a save happens because they'll have BT, make sure you never try to chase anyone for 60 seconds after they get unhooked because they'll hop in a locker and have DS, and make sure you never make a single mistake at a loop (or try to punish their mistake at a loop) because they'll just Dead Hard to the next loop. And make sure you're pressuring extra hard because they can just bring 4 green toolboxes with BNP and finish Gens in about 30 seconds."
Hmm I'll make sure to watch this video, but I'm pretty sure Otz thinks that gen speeds can't be decreased correct?

Dbd can't do anything about external messages, but xbox can

Maybe buff a few slowdown perks. Examples would be a slight number buff to Thanatophobia and Dying Light, removing the timer on Pop goes the Weasel, significantly reducing the cooldown of Thrilling Tremors etc.
They should at least reduce the cooldown of TT by 16 seconds.
-
Survivors are allowed to do gens. Toolboxes are a problem though.
-
The rework + new ruin puts him at a solid A tier for me due to his detection, stall, and chase potential.

Didn't that guy in the Tofu review only get 2 kills? I wouldn't call that a loss or anything, but he also played that GF almost perfect and still didn't pip, so...
Yes the pipping system is bad in some ways, but he was already r1 right?

To me, that's usually not a killer performance thing so much as it is a survivor performance thing when it comes to low pressure M1 killers. I didn't watch the entire video you mentioned, but there are numerous loops on Purgation that GF shouldn't be able to get a hit on. That usually comes down to pallet greed or incorrect pathing.
It turns out many of the loops have an opportunity for GF to mindgame with his crouch.

Which is why there might be an optimal minimum amount of BPs that can ensure that at the very least, you have to have average skills. Is just an idea.
Yea but bp =/= skill either
Thanks for taking initiative and I hope you can figure something out mate.

There appear to be a lot of people commenting about their physiological responses to this game when they play. I'm becoming quite concerned for the overall health of this player base.
What do you expect from players who like seeing people being brutally murdered :/

To me the speed of gens doesn't seem to be the issue as increasing the time spent on a generator just makes the most boring part of the game even worse, that and good players will still get out leaving only the new or bad players behind who weren't the issue in the first place.
Ideally the right solution is something completely different which comes down to fixing the size of the maps to make generators more realistic to manage and fixing how safe certain maps (Ormond, Rotten Fields, Disturbed Ward) can be either due to a structure or the layout of the map itself which would made chases feel more fair as well.
That would be nice. Chase times need to be more consistent with patrol times.

The gens can go too fast, but the average survivor is typically inefficient and takes unnecessary hits. There's no reason to ever not be on a gen unless you're healing, going for a save, or in a chase, but many survivors do nothing for extended stretches. Basically, the gens are fine unless the survivors are actually good, at which point the gens are 100% not ok.
I recently watched Ohtofu review GF gameplay at high ranks and it really got me thinking...if a killer at high ranks using a low map pressure killer on a huge map can perform this well, is the game really all that far from well balanced?
-
Escaping =/= skilled gameplay
4king =/= skilled gameplay
The casual aspects of dbd are its downfall.

That or just change the gen times ONLY on the offending maps.
That might be a neat way to fix them fast...
-
Yes survivors screwing over their team is part of the normal gameplay experience.

Thank you! Do you see any problems with it?
Double regression speed shouldn't trouble survivors who pressure gens efficiently. I can't say for sure though because I have yet to master dbd gameplay theory.

Probably the same reason Legion went live. They just didn't know what they had done.
Yes, we shall have to agree to disagree. Though, what do you think of my suggestion above? I feel it makes both party's happy.
It's a great suggestion, I would love to see it implemented and have other hex perks handled in a similar manner.

Ghostface is fundamentally broken. Its going to take some work to get him working correctly.
I’d like to see him have more of a notification too. Why does Wraith need to bing bong before a hit, Pig has to come out of crouch and is slowed down in stealth, yet GF gets to run around uninhibited at full speed and gets to attack straight away? He’s not balanced in comparison to other stealth killers.
Maybe the 16m audio was too loud and too far before but they should add it back at 12m or so and give it half the volume.
His current stealth is too strong so literally every GF just camps hooks.
Ghostface phonecall power or riot lol

BL is still good, though, I would've liked to have had the fall stun reduction on a cooldown like Q&Q. MoM is just poorly designed.
Ruin was well designed but it was a band-aid. We all know that.
We'll have to agree to disagree. I am set firm in my opinion that ruin was poorly designed, it gives a better advantage against worse survivors and is weak against extremely good survivors. Not to mention the frustration it gives newer survivors which was stifling BHVR's income.
I agree with you on BL. It is still a good perk if not the worst or 2nd worst exhaustion perk. Fall stun reduction on cooldown is what I want as well. I can't imagine any other reason to release MoM like that other than grabbing cash.
-
@Quol said:
I agree that its stupid to call Ruin a late game perk. Devs have said if its made into a non hex perk then its effects would be reduced.
I wouldnt mind it becoming a non hex perk with a lesser effect but i feel like nothing will happen, the devs just want to put Ruin behind them and never think about it again.
Is that such a bad thing? They did the same to BL and MoM. Who knows? They could eventually do so to DS too.

You get that juicy 300 extra exp for first day bonus' if you play a match as survivor then as killer.
Oh right. Problem solved xD
-
I like that...maybe separate dailies for each side and a shard/bp bonus for getting both done.

someone once said to me larger maps do more gens, but the survivors said it will be unfun, well yeah i agree but i think these person did not play as clown trying to pressure gens in a big map like the nurse one
Well that's also a clown problem, but I see how gen times could be slightly adjusted on some maps with little consequence.
-
I can hardly go without Spine Chill or We'll Make it. The other perks I like to use, DH and BT, are complained about frequently but also take higher priority when choosing my perk builds.
-
Map and chase potential make a good killer. Yet Huntress is an extremely good killer...how?

It wouldn't be fixing the underlying problem, which is the size of the maps.
The devs don't see it as a problem yet actually

@Predator3174PL said:
Yeah sure, it's not like that even good killers like Tru3 or Otz that play game daily struggle with "fun" and "diverse" builds for killers and have to tunnel and slug to pressure survivors which is not fun for them. It's not like that nowadays if they win and 4k they do it, because they meet "red ranks" survivors.
I try to watch them daily and the thing I start to see is that usually survivors they fight against lose, because they play more like green rank than red rank.
While Ruin change made some killer players to fall of (which is good/bad thing, depends on perspective), this change also made weak survivors red ranks, which is beginning to be a plague of some sort and that makes data even more unreliable.
Toolboxes became more common which makes games for survivors even easier for survivors, I just watched one of Otz's games and oh boy, even tho he played Billy (one of the strongest killers) with uncommon build (your beloved diversity in builds) he still lost 2 gens IN FRONT OF HIM WHILE DOING PRESSURE and lost 3rd one while just downing and hooking one survivor and then going to the survivors at the next end of the map (they had only 2 toolboxes btw). If one of the best killers if not best is struggling, then there might be a tini tiny problem...
Let's play against only few killers with green ranks in disguise of red ranks survivors, it will be fun for sure.
In my opinion, this change is slowly showing of which side is really the power role and have easier time piping and climbing up to red ranks (all hail DS, DH, Adrenaline, BT, Unbreakable and toolboxes!).
I know you probably will say "I dont care what you think" BUT hey, you posted this on forum, so now enjoy feedback and discussion, because that's what forums are for btw.
Pipping doesn't matter, fun builds shouldn't be easy to win with, it's why we have meta builds.
-
Balance shouldn't be based around casual players.

I get that, but this is usually how it starts - and the only one who really derailed it was you. I was still on topic. So don't derail it. :)
You didn't even answer their question so...

I recently quit playing killer. I just found it rather boring, so many potato survivors that it's not even worth it to look for a match when I won't even get a challenge.

Wow bud, you sure you aren't a Dev with those earplugs in?
Ruin was a band-aid for other bad gameplay elements. One thing it did was make ######### killers playable and ones that needed some setup time somewhat more viable. The only substitute for this is now Corrupt, but a mild inconvenience is a lot less effective than a big, albeit inconsistent one. The gradient for effective killer characters is more stark than ever now, so good luck playing anyone other than the top 3 at rank 1. But, I guess rank doesn't mean much anymore on the survivor side now does it?
What does ruin do if survivors always hit greats?
-
@Pulsar said:
First off, I'm glad you are being constructive and trying to fix the problem, however, I don't like this for two reasons.
Reason 1: You could just moonwalk to catch Survivors very quickly without ever starting a chase with them, like with Old Legion.
Reason 2: This would be another band-aid fix on a larger problem, most maps are too big.
This is a real fix, not a bandaid. Bandaids are perks
-
I want survivors to run slower outside of chase

Billy is pretty much S for me, other than that I agree with this list.

No need to speculate further. He has no facts to back his argument other than his own observations. His opinion is biased and has no care or consideration for other people's opinion even if a logical point is made against him. In short it's pointless and he's a waste of time even considering. He can continue to troll as he likes, but I'm done with this thread.
