Moris and Keys are extremely strong, and Ivory, and ebony mori's should be removed, along with keys.
Devour hope, rancor, cypress?
Those should all stay.
Rancor doesn't reward skill and is much more than just a cosmetic item.

Personally the majority of my games are like that. Its just the current meta of do gens don't heal make it to EGC and you get a free escape with BT, DS.
Nothing gets you a free escape against camping imo, I'm pretty sure at that point it's only hook trading.

New players never had an issue with ruin, they complain about diffrent things. Check steam/metacritic to find out what they do complain about.
BL was made similar to the other exhaustion perks, meanwhile ruin is in the dumbster.
Ruin is now similar to other hex perks

Nothing wrong with camping, especially if the situation like you said calls for it.

You mean asking 4 SURVIVORS to use their 3RD PERSON CAMERA to cleanse 5 totems which takes 12 SECONDS each? That's too much to ask? Aside from you also being able bring maps?

Actually, they are individually as strong as the Killer. I explained in a second reply why Survivors can totally win a 1v1.
And let's concede here and say that yes, Survivors are individually weaker than a Killer. Even if this were true, it would certainly not be by much. Certainly not so much weaker that an average Killer is about four times more powerful than the average Survivor.
So, ultimately, it doesn't matter if they're a small bit weaker because they're not weak enough that four Survivors is equal in power to one Killer. Four Survivors are greater in power to one Killer, by a substantial degree.
Which survivor can hook the killers?

Bias is different due to pipping requirements. Rank 1 as killer requires some dedication and effort.

I'm so insanely tired of this statement, especially when it comes to Borrowed Time and the new hook tech, as survivors can just run up to their teammate on the hook and get a free save completely unscathed in front of the killer's face.
Um have you tried camping?

Well it is just that if you don't explain why. He's rank 1 on both sides so at least people know he doesn't have bias. I think he has a good understanding of the devs' mindset for changes and a fun approach to how the game is played.

Again, high pressure killers are not supposed to use slowdown, only killers with low pressure use slowdown, so they have more time to apply pressure.
Surviviors lost? Lost what? Killer got 0 (in words) ZERO pips, and Im sure at least some of the surviviors pipped, given the amount of gens done.
Lmao all killers benefit from slowdown bud.

It honestly makes me laugh that people complain about NOED, but feel it's perfectly fine to run DS, BT, DH, Sprint Burst, Lithe, Adrenaline. But yeah, NOED killers are trash!
Perks like DS and NOED pretty much just reward failure though...calling them crutches isn't exactly incorrect. I agree people shouldn't be judged based on the perks they run, all that matters in a fair game is having some consideration for the other side. Unfortunately, very few dbd players care nor are they required to.

I understand you disagree. So I'm asking what some of the game theory is.
Well there are theoretical chase times and patrol times. Theoretical applications of certain perks and items/add ons. Overall theoretical efficiency and mindgaming is a big piece of the pie. Like I said, I'm not yet an expert myself so I can't explain all of the nuance.

What I mean is, the game seems fairly simple.
Yes some people are better at looping and mind games then others.
But I hardly think the plays people make in this game can be called complex theory.
You mean in dbd as a whole? I would have to respectfully disagree.

“Why is it always imagine? Why not show proof where it actually happens, oh wait it doesn't.”
It actually does, and you can easily google videos of people destroying or getting destroyed with the simple art of doing gens—seriously, these types of videos are literally everywhere—but you just pretend they don’t exist to fit your narrative.
“Otz played far from optimally in that vid and wasted perk slots as well I have gathered. Stop getting riled up and look at the facts: running a meme build isn't going to guarantee you an easy win.”
- Okay, he made a few mistakes and some luck screwed him at a few points. Doesn’t change the fact that his playing was a million times better than the neon-haired monkeys he was playing against.
- What does it matter that two of his Perk slots were questionable? Not only did he still get use out of them, including being able to pull off a mindgame thanks to Zanshin Tactics at one point, but two of his Perks were meta Perks. His build was strange, but it was far from a “meme” build.
“Hell, at the competitive level there are pretty much no easy wins without moris or toolboxes.”
So you’re literally admitting that against good Survivors, you’re totally screwed without the strongest possible things you could bring and only show up very scantily in your bloodweb, meanwhile the only “manadatory” things Survivors need (which is total bs by the way; toolboxes are not mandatory at all) are one of the most common items in their bloodwebs? Do you not see the issue here?
No I'm saying the game is not easy at a competitive level.
-
@Xetoil said:
I don't understand all the people in this thread saying that the build was the problem. If you watch the video, bitter murmur was actually responsible for a lot of his super quick downs, Discordance let him get a good start, the only perk which didn't help much was Zanshin Tactics and even then, it allowed him to negate a pallet near the end, so it did its job of shortening a chase.
I'm not really invested enough here to take a side, but if you're going to put a point forward at least make sure its coherent.
The perks were helpful at times, but they were definitely not optimal.

FYI - I dont think this game needs a post game chat lobby at all. It's pointless and offers very little to the game experience itself. I think eliminating that dumpster fire of a chat box would solve a lot of the toxicity issues.
Players can remove it themselves. I personally love it and all the positive interactions it encourages.

Tunneling isn't playing well for whom? It is for the killer, because it gets a survivor out of the way. Much easier to run against three players than four.
Well my good friend @Pythonheir is convinced tunneling is an inefficient strategy that puts you at a disadvantage against good survivors. You may refer to his posts as I am not a tunneling expert.
-
Well I haven't mastered it myself, if you watch Ohtofu's podcast you might get a general understanding. Ussylis mentions it in some of his videos too if I'm not mistaken. You already heard about Otz.
-
Tunneling isn't playing well. I do agree DS should deactivate in certain scenarios but I disagree that DS doesn't discourage tunneling.

Did you even read what I said at all? Otz consistently outplayed these Survivors and made them look like the fools they were. They died, over and over and over, and almost none of them were able to properly mindgame or loop. He decimated them in chases and was constantly putting immense pressure up. He was clearly better than them by several leagues.
And it almost literally did not matter, because they knew how to hold M1 on gens.
Again, imagine if these Survivors could actually loop. Imagine if Otz wasn’t playing Billy and instead was using any other Killer who was so much less map pressure. Imagine if he had decided not to bring Discordance and/or BBQ. Imagine if Otz had made one single substantial mistake. These Survivors would still have been terrible, but this time around, it literally wouldn’t mean anything because the odds would be totally stacked against Otz. He would have pretty much lost automatically.
I’m not saying every game should be a 5-gen 4k. But when your Survivors are clearly markedly inferior to you in terms of skill, and you’re stomping them this hard, you shouldn’t be almost on the brink of defeat with 1 generator remaining. That’s absolutely ridiculous.
Why is it always imagine? Why not show proof where it actually happens, oh wait it doesn't.
Otz played far from optimally in that vid and wasted perk slots as well I have gathered. Stop getting riled up and look at the facts: running a meme build isn't going to guarantee you an easy win. Hell, at the competitive level there are pretty much no easy wins without moris or toolboxes.

"Maybe among the crying few who believe they are entitled to red ranks and 4ks just for buying the game"
That is an extreme minority and a poor rebuttal by people who simply disagree and don't have a counter argument for them.
"Have you seen Ohtofu's GF gameplay review? Did gens go too fast in that game?"
I did and I don't think it has contradicted anything.
You think gens went too fast in that game, with a pretty bad map for the killer? Despite the results?
Also I made the "crying few" statement because no sensible and logical competitive dbd player thinks gen speeds are the problem. Not to insult you but I have yet to hear a strong argument other than "It's pretty unanimously agreed upon"

Protecting their totem has a lower weight than defending the Exit Gates. This is because most killers won't bother to defend their totem unless they know for sure someone is there and secure a hook. It's a complete gamble to catch a survivor on their totem, so why gamble when you can guarantee the survivor will be at an Exit Gate? 😁
Right it's a guaranteed down if you don't cleanse it early. A down in end game usually = a kill.
-
@Demogordon_Ramsay said:
I have seen it. This is why the excuse of “the survivors don’t escape until 5 gens are done” is literally irrelevant. It didn’t matter that he got a 4k minus hatch; what matters is the amount of pressure he was putting on.
And the amount of pressure he was putting on was monstrous. Right off the bat, he’s getting downs and hooks without even thinking about it. 3 downs in the first 90 seconds. He was wiping the floor with these Survivors.
And they still managed to get 4 gens done.
If Otz’s playing had been any less immaculate, he would have lost big time. These survivors didn’t even chase. They went down almost immediately every time. And it almost didn’t matter, because they knew how to hold M1 on gens.
Even when the Survivors are so much objectively worse than the Killer is at the game, the Killer still nevertheless struggled. Now imagine a game where the Survivors actually manage to loop the Killer for once, or playing any Killer that doesn’t have the same insane map pressure that Billy has. Otz would have lost that game for sure with no chance of counterplay.
This is why gen times are an issue. This is why “just apply pressure lol“ is a garbage argument. He DID apply pressure. He applied metric tons of it. And it was almost all for nothing because the Survivors knew how to hold M1 on generators.
WTH? Do you want killers to be able to get guaranteed 5 gen 4ks? There is nothing wrong with an optimal killer letting 4 gens and 1 survivor go, dbd shouldn't be a hopeless stomp fest, for lore or balance reasons.

You don't even need to do totems, you can just wait until the last generator is completed and find the lit totem — this method requires you to do a single totem rather than relying on your team to help you get all 5 of them. 😁
The killer also knows where the totem is

It's countered by BT and Bottled Time, also Hope sort of. Not to mention the Inner Strength + Detective's Hunch combo. Just get good and learn to counter it. (Sarcasm btw, this is what survivors say about things like BT, DS, and keys)
Conclusion: Noed can be countered but so can DS so either complain about both or neither.

Just do the totems, they aren't that difficult to do.
The perk does reward bad killers, if you let it do so.
70 seconds is pretty much a whole gen. Do an extra gen or give the killer free one hits and speed boost? Noed isn't as bad as people say.

Let me explain this quickly before you think I just want him buffed. I do not enjoy him, I dont like him, I honestly even hate the very chapter he was released in. Also FFS fix the footsteps from the killers perspective.
The reason I want it removed is solely because the teleportation via portals takes time, has a obvious tell if you see said portal (him appearing) or him entering one (not the location just leaving). While it Grant's the oblivious status giving him stealth a entire map wide notification makes that stealth near pointless.
There is a difference between adjusting a Killers basekit to bring them more into alignment with the powers VS just being stupid about it. Also a lot of killers dont actually have mechanic breaking tells like this.
After conversing with me on the forums over the last few months I figured by now you would of realized I have extremely abstract ideas, but I'm not exactly a main for either side. I don't break thinks to make a killer or survivor OP just try to fix them in odd ways which brings them into a more sensible position.
So you say Demo has enough counters/indicators? I would have to agree.

Being completely honest I am done giving compromising ideas as no one seems to like them.
Gen times as a whole need to be looked at even on smaller maps simply due to how fast they can go and how little time the best players of the game can make them have.
An idea that could help is simply removing the progression bonus of great skill check as each one removes 1.6 seconds needed to complete a generator and the average amount of skill check per gen is roughly 5 from what I have seen removing 8 seconds off of each(or 16 if 2 people are working on it).
In fact one of the reasons why old ruin was run was even if people could only get great skill checks old ruin negated the extra speed.
2 people getting 5 great skill checks each turns a normally: 44.44 second generator into a 28.44 second long generator which needless to say is absurdly fast.
Yes great skill checks should only give as much as healing does.

What debate are you trying to start btw? Please tell me where I'm wrong in what I sad, in saying I'm not trying to have a discussion or debate without any response is a bit hypocritical.
Each killer is part of the survivor experience, especially such a "popular" and "powerful" killer like Doc.
