They meant DS, which was not removed, just changed.
-
Dwight - Working a dead end job because no one cares. If he was from a wealthy family, wouldn't people bother with him?
Jake - Son of a CEO. So yeah, pretty wealthy.
Ace - Literal quote from his backstory: "From his roots as a poor boy in Argentina, he gambled, scammed, seduced and smooth-talked his way to a life of luxury as a high roller in the land of opportunity." Notice it says POOR boy.
David - Yep, wealthy.
Adam - I mean, his father had published works, but its never mentioned his family has wealth.
Jeff - Also never mentioned to have wealth in his family.
So, 1/3 of the original male survivors are confirmed to be from wealthy families.

I like variety. Unfortunately, due to how weak a lot of Killers are, there isn't much variety when I play Survivor. There is when I play Killer, but otherwise, we need more that can be viable.

Whaaaaat???
On PS4 I've always had:
Mr. McMillan, Mr. Ojomo, Mr. Thompson, Miss Smithson.
Miss Sherwood, Dr. Carter, Mr. Myers, Anna.
Mr. Sawyer, Mr. Krueger, Miss Young, Mr. Hawk.
Miss Yamaoka, "those undesirables", and now Adiris.
Anna traded places with Mr. Sawyer in my PS4. Is it different for every platform??
Must be. I don't have a Playstation so I can't check that.
That's a little annoying.

Amanda's not easy or powerful, but I have a lot of fun playing her. She's also the only Killer that made me legitimately SCREAM from the game. Hangman's Trick is situational, but if you're a Trapper player, it is pretty nice for him. Before its buff, Surveillance was useless, and I have only used it once after and it didn't seem that great to me, but I was also playing pretty poorly in that game. Make Your Choice however is an amazing and powerful perk (that works with Amanda's dash, so it synergizes well with her).
Tapp looks cool (he is the closest to his real life appearance, and I honestly have trouble seeing the difference), but his perks are just... not the best. You'll only get to use Tenacity if the Killer slugs you, which happens so rarely that it might as well not even exist for me. Works well with Unbreakable/No Mither, and maybe the new DS, but otherwise, it's pretty meh. Detective's Hunch is bad. Unless you are the one of the ones who completes the gen, which is not how I interpreted it the first time, and have a map, those 5 seconds are just not enough. Stake Out, in my opinion, is his best perk, and even then. It's useful if you play stealth, and turning good checks into great checks is pretty good, I just haven't had much use out of it.
Overall, it's not a bad DLC, but it's not the best. Honestly, for me, Tapp's appearance and the fun that I have with Amanda is worth it, and since you can't spend shards on them, you can't get it any other way. If you want a bit more variety in your daily selection as Killer, or just can't be bothered to wait for Surveillance or Make Your Choice in the shrine, go for it. Otherwise, maybe not.

If you look at the Killer order there, the five free Killers (Evan, Philip, Max, Sally and Anna) are first. After that, all of the payed Killers are in order. However, Bubba came AFTER Herman, so he was in the wrong place, which annoyed me to no end.
Hope that explains it.
-
Nea. I hate her base appearance, I hate her secondary appearance, without the beanie it is so much worse, and NONE of her cosmetics do anything for me.
After that is Quentin, for obvious reasons. His tree shirt and necklace are his only saving graces for me.
Everyone else I like (except for Kate's Jorts, but I almost have enough shards to get her longer pants, so I won't be complaining about that.)
-
I can easily tell by the level of my Killers (since I only use their own earned bloodpoints on them, yes, I know, not the greatest idea), which would mean Wraith and Hag, at level 16, are my least played.
-
I can accept this, since it is correct.
However, WHY does the KILLER that controls the lobby... HAVE A WAIT TIME TO GET INTO A LOBBY IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Again, I am fine with Adiris's recency being the cause in that case, but Killers shouldn't have to wait to get into a lobby that they control. As far as I'm aware, we don't have Dedicated Servers yet, but if this is a sign of things to come, I'm sad to say I'm not looking forward to it.
-
Adiris/Plague is finally here, and also a bit more information on the Hillbilly/Max.
-
Been there as well. I remember not playing at all for almost a month after Clown came out. Stopped during the holidays as well, but that was mostly due to my ping being at 1000+, even when everyone else was green. And the past event was the first I really even bothered with. I usually just skip them.
We all get burned out of our favorite things eventually. But if enough new things keep happening, we get pulled back in. I'm just trying to finish adepting everyone (yes, I'm a semi-completionist), and when Plague and Jane come out, I'll do the same with them, then I might pull back a bit once again. As it is, adepting Clown burned me out, but I also don't like him so... that might have something to do with it.

A type of "Casual" mode for those that just want to play. No perks, no add-ons, no bringing in items, no offerings. Just solid skill (okay, so casual may not be the best word).
A 2v8 mode would also be nice, but not as high on my list.
-
Literally the first thing Xbox Live gave to me. I'm really bad at naming things on my own.
-
What Eveline said.
-
I think Tapp and Quentin make this clear.
Tapp was shot. If you disregard the Saw game, he died at the end of the first movie. However, he was still taken.
But Quentin... well, he was not dead. He seemed to summon the Entity on his own to make Freddy disappear.
So, they most likely aren't ALL dead, but they did something to get the Entity's attention. We can say with some certainty that Jane, Tapp and Adam are all dead, but the others might have just summoned it by accident.

They said in the stream that it slows her down while charging, but then she reverts to full speed (which is standard 115% for Killers)
-
Yeah, she will. But I'll wait for her official release before I do anything.

According to their backstories, none of them actually saw the Entity. They all just got captured/followed it and appeared at the campfire. The only one who saw a bit more was Kate, and yet she only witnessed the tendrils/spider legs.
And Kate isn't even a Killer.
-
I'll have to go with the majority here and say Spirit. Powerful, but needs time and patience to learn.

Id like it if the incence burner starts a timer which emits smoke from the very start of the match and as the game progresses it thickens the fog loads so you cannot plan routes from pallet to pallet.
I can imagine an ultra rare being where you see the survivors aura when outside terrir radius if they have been in the mist recently. A little like how freddy currently sees aura.(This is in response to the top paragraph): I had a similar idea the other day about a Killer that got stronger the longer the match was, but then I realized how much gen rushing would destroy them.
About this new comment typing thing, I would be fine without these annoying, out of place white box in the middle of nowhere. Seriously, if you're going to make such a major change, at least make the background of the quotes something that matches, like, oh I don't know, GREY!!! And since I can't untype things from the quotes, I can't make it clearer to which part I am referring to without, as I have done here, (forgive me Ashley, for using your quote as a warzone), which feels like a waste of resources. I get why you're doing it, since people can mess with it and troll, but for those like me who used it for legitimate purposes, we're being punished for what a few people did. Similar to the dislike and lol button debacles.
Sorry. This was annoying me for a few hours now.
EDIT: Of course this would post twice.

That hand appears to be the right hand, so unless we see our first left-handed Killer, that is their weapon. Two in one tool? Beatdown weapon and fog machine? (I have nothing else, sorry)
-
As Killer, for some reason, I tense up in a chase. I'm normally not competitive at all, but when I'm in that chase, I MUST CATCH THAT SURVIVOR.
As Survivor, the unexpected Killer sneaking up on me is about the only thing that scares me. Like that one Amanda who crouched behind me while I was walking from the Exit Gates (I heard her heartbeat), who I noticed when I turned around to check my surroundings. That was the ONLY time I think I'v ever full out screamed from DBD.
Spirit as well, but that's more stressful than anything else. -
Like PigNRun said, each one is the main protagonist of their chapter. But if we discount those, I would have to say Dwight. He's a coward, but the others still follow him as a leader.
-
Alright then
Spirit should have (obviously) Japanese music. But rather than it being soothing, it should be distorted. As for Legion, they have mixtapes. While it would probably be hard to do, I think each one should have their own chase music, matching their individual mixtapes.
Julie - Dark and depressing music (my friend and I were discussing music genres during 1996, where the Legion is from and we can't find a genre that works)
Susie - Energizing, fast-paced music (We've narrowed that down to hip hop)
Joey - Actual description "A mix of bangin' tracks and slammin' beats for chillaxin' when life's a #########." (I have no clue why jazz is in my head, but I can't think of anything else honestly)
Frank - Music that stabs at your ear drums (Heavy metal, no questions) -
I have a few comments about this.
First, WHY??? WHY CHANGE OBSESSIONS??? That part is confusing.
Second, about the timer. Does it stop when you are knocked down? Does it keep going like everyone else is thinking? If yes to the first, slugging is no longer a viable tactic to avoid DS. If yes to the second, well... slugs are incoming.Otherwise, I like this. I refuse to use it myself in its current state (only exception being when I got Adept Laurie). Again, I don't like the obsession change, and the timer is a bit confusing, as well as the skill check occurring during the pick-up, but that I'm a bit better with.
-
First, they'd need to get the legal rights to Jason
Second, he currently has is own game
Third, said game is currently going through legal issues (unless those got resolved and I didn't hear anything). What I'm basically saying is this: A lot of people WANT Jason in DBD, but the fact is that he's not likely to join the cast of Killers, at least for a while.
-
The only time I can see this actually happening is when they are finished updating the game with major content (DLC) and do this as a final sendoff for the game. Maybe with Benedict Baker as the final Survivor or something along those lines.
But, if I remember right, they plan to keep this game updated for at least 5 years. We're not even three years in. Almost, but not quite.
-
If something like someone dc'd before the game begins or I get a daily for a certain killer I don't like cough Trapper cough, I'll typically let the Survivors get points. They have add-ons for some Killers that seem BUILT for farming (padded jaws for Trapper, speed-limiter for Hillbilly and Leatherface, mirrors for Michael, although those do have an extra effect. EDIT: There's also party streamers.). I generally don't like tryharding as it is in games anyway.
As Survivor, I'm also fine with it. Both sides get points, which is what it ultimately comes down to. The game is very grindy, and, especially for someone like me who wants to get EVERYONE leveled, farming just gets us more points a lot easier.
On the other end of the argument, it DOES make matches less exciting, and said matches tend to take longer since everyone is getting bloodpoints.
-
I personally wouldn't, since I have no friends TO play with, but IF I did, I probably would leave because I couldn't play with the people I enjoy playing with.
Besides. I like the extra challenge as Killer.
-
Think of it like this. At the campfire, they are safe. They know nothing can happen to them there. So they are able to talk freely, without fear.
But when they enter a trial, fear of failure, death, and the unknown thinking of the Killer causes them to shut up. They are too scared to talk, including Kate.

xmenfanatic said:He was the first franchise killer I believe, though i may be wrong. So that could point to it being a new thing. The had released Bill as solo on the computer, so they were possibly considering the idea of doing more solo killers and survivors back in the day.
Also, Kate was designed around the time of leather face, and there is a lo of evidence pointing to the fact that she was gonna be the final girl of the remake of TCM (jessica biel), but they couldn't afford/get the rights to her character.
I thought Meyers was the first franchised killer, though maybe I'm wrong.
Myers: Released October 25, 2016
Leatherface: Released September 14, 2017
Hope that answers that.@HatCreature said:

Was that DLC released around the time they released Gas Heaven or Groaning Storehouse? That might explain the lack of a map.Leatherface was released with Grim Pantry and devs said consider that his own map.
Oh I thought Grim was Hag's map, I thought she got two maps.
Technically, she didn't. I wasn't playing at this time, but apparently, the Backwater Swamp was WAY TOO BIG when released, so they split it into two maps.

Freddy's not as weak as a lot of people say, and I generally do well with him, but I find him pretty boring to play.
I feel that people are a bit unfair to Legion, but that's just me. I don't have them at a very high level (13 or 14 I think, maybe lower 16, after checking) and don't have Frank's Mixtape, so I play them the way I believe they were intended: Frenzy Strike, then search briefly. If someone else is nearby, charge them and strike. Rinse and repeat until no one is around. That's when I strike a Deep Wounded Survivor again.
May not be the most effective, but I find it to be fun. Besides, Legion can vault pallets, which can be terrifying.
They're not built to tunnel, but like with Amanda and the RBTs, people have found a way to bypass that.
-
The rules of Onryo (Japanese grudge spirits, like Rin/Spirit) may be different from normal ghost rules.
Just a guess though, since I know next to nothing about Japanese mythology
-
Against: Evan (just watching where you're going) and Freddy (can't hide from what you can't see).
As: Freddy, Evan, Sally, Kenneth, Leatherface, Philip. These 5 just don't have enough in their ability to be engaging. The others I can get at least SOME enjoyment out of, but these 5 are basic and boring to me.
-
No problem
-
This is Freddy's biggest weakness.
Every other Killer can completely forget about their ability and still be able to do something (They may not be successful at getting Kills, but they can still do something).
Freddy though, he NEEDS his power to even HIT a Survivor. Unless you put those other Survivors asleep and start slapping, you will not get that downed Survivor. -
Just one slight issue I have with Ace: The Yakuza are Japanese, not Chinese.
You should exhange Yakuza for Triads, which are from Hong Kong, Taiwan AND Macau, which you have put into your backstory of Ace.
That and I have no clue why Ace would be in China in the first place, since he is Argentinian/Italian.Otherwise, pretty good.

All of them were young enough to be put into foster homes.I could be wrong, but their backstory only puts Frank as being a foster child. All the others appear to be natural born citizens of Ormond. Not saying it's impossible, but it seems unlikely.
I get what you are saying though, but that could apply to literally anyone under the age of 18. -
I have no friends to play with, and I just find Survivor boring in general.
Most of the Killers I find highly entertaining (exceptions being Evan, Kenneth, Sally and Freddy), and I love to see the stupid decisions Survivors make, without needing to think about what I would have done (which is usually the same exact thing).
And I get to blow off steam without murdering someone IRL. So it's safe for everyone. (Please don't take this one seriously) -
Freddy is underrated, but it doesn't mean he's even mid-tier.
I should know, I had his daily non-stop for a few weeks, so I had too much time to learn him. He needs a rework, but he can manage on his own.
Now, Leatherface... he needs a rework just as badly, so why do not as many people talk about him? -
I've had ONE good game as the Clown, and I only call it that because I got a t-bagging, flashlight clicking, hyper vaulting, P3 Claudette at a pallet with a bottle. And she missed her DS.
I wouldn't call him weak, but he is low-mid tier AT BEST. Seriously. He needs a few buffs to make him useful. Even when throwing ahead of them, the slow just doesn't do enough.

I'm getting flashbacks to a post about a month ago (maybe less) asking the same thing. There is one simple reason. If each Survivor had a different ability, if you wanted to play a specific Survivor, if they were seen as worse than any of the others, you would be shouted at by your team to change to someone better, they would purposefully look for you and lead the Killer to you, and if you got hooked, they would not save you. And if they did, it would be to farm you. All because you didn't follow the meta.
My solution to make all Survivors unique: just equip different perks for each one. Problem solved.
Highly doubt that would happen, especially if the bonuses each survivor got were minuscule and pretty much equally useful. For example, one survivor could be doing gens 5% faster(5% of a gen is 4 seconds, or roughly 2 great skill checks), one survivor could run 2% faster, the other could vault 5% faster, etc. Changes like would be pretty much unnoticeable, unless in a very specific situation.
You would be surprised how much a small change can tip the balance. And you would probably also be surprised how toxic humans are in general.
We are all pretty narcissistic. The problem with being online is anonymity. If something doesn't go our way, we tend to hide behind our screens and torment those that we feel responsible.
A small change for one person can be game breaking for another.

I think Ashley has finally lost it.
In all seriousness though, Iron Maiden really isn't that great. ESPECIALLY for the Killer it's "unique" to. -
Sounds like you're just unlucky. I had three gens spawn on the top floor a few days ago, and my best game as Wraith yet.
The lighting I will agree with though. It was way to dark, especially on the bottom floor. -
We have 9 males and 6 females. So... we really need to even this out.
But, unfortunately, women aren't usually well represented in older times, where our new Killer will be from. I hope they keep the trend of the Survivor and Killer having some relation like the past two (Adam being a teacher in Japan with Rin being from Japan and Jeff painting for the Legion).
I would love a new female Survivor, if for no other reason than to even those numbers out, but I want it to make sense even MORE. I mean, we COULD have an archaeologist or historian that explores the timeframe where our Killer is from, but that just wouldn't have the same impact that Adam and Jeff have with their Killers.
-
For me, he doesn't have enough in his base kit to be fun and engaging. So I usually don't bother with him.
He can be pretty powerful, but he is easily loopable, and let's not even mention his flashlight issue. And his daily needs a bit of reworking. It's not Nurse difficulty, but it's one the harder one.
I feel he relies to much on his add-ons in order to do anything. But that's just me, I could say the same about Doctor and I play him pretty often because he's fun.
Wraith is lower-mid teir, IMO. He can be effective, but he's more annoying to fight than anything else.
Now... show me SILENT Wraith... Now we can have some fun.
