  • I NEED to give the middle finger with Ash's robot hand.

Where did you find this? Was it under the map selection if a kyf? Because that definitely isn’t in the doctor’s backstory

It was from the official game website, and later added to the game's wiki (trying to get you a link for the website, but not having any luck with it, so here's the wiki page instead)

All of your points are valid, and I can agree on them. But I don’t think Doctor was 70s, could I be wrong? Yes. But giving the time for the CIA, Electroconvulsive therapy, and the building he worked at, 50s seems more appropriate. But hey, these are all speculations and it’s fun to try to figure his out, together.

"By 1970, the Institute was fully transformed into a CIA black site with special requirements to develop cutting-edge interrogation techniques and they employed a wide range of different doctors and specialists to help them. The Institute thrived through the 70's growing to a staff of hundreds, filling the main hospital and several out-buildings.

Documents and evidence about the Institute is scarce as the government condemned the entire building in 1983, even razing most of the building to the ground in what seemed to be planned explosive demolition."

These are the lines that led Rattman and me to this conclusion (and I can't un-italicize this for some reason, so...). Hope this clears it up.

I actually wanted to figure out the times they were taken, judging by that info you could probably estimate how old they all are.

Plague being the farthest time period from Babylon, judging by how she looks she was probably 40. Old enough to be a high priestess.

Huntress is next with being taken from WW1, confirmed by Dave in a dev stream, judging from her appearance she would also be in her 40s.

Devs confirmed that Huntress was the oldest time period wise, that means Trapper is next because of the factory his dad owns. He is most likely 1920s putting him in his 30s

Hillbilly is next with it probably being 1929 because of the crash in the economy. Farmers were trying to sell off their land at this time and being with no one on the land it wasn’t up for grabs but no one wanted it. He would probably be in his 30s in game.

Wraith is next with 1930s because car manufacturing. Crushing cars during this time would explain why there were bodies in every car. Money. Azarov took bribes to get money because the economy was crashing so it was a good way to make an income. He appears to be in his 30s

Nurse with the WW2 Uniform gives us her time period of being a nurse in WW2, as in she was working when the US entered the war. 1941-1945 is the likely date, and she worked at the asylum for two decades making her over 40 years old.

The Doctor would be next because of electroconvulsive therapy. He worked for the CIA. He didn’t start off instantly, so give a few years and probably 1950 is when he was hired. Seeing as how it’s the Cold War, he would use the shock therapy on spies. Herman would probably in his 40s.

Hag is a mystery to me. The giant boat, the piers, all of it. But the fog horn might be the clue. I honestly don’t know, she has the most interesting backstory here because it’s hard to pinpoint when she was taken. But she seems to be in her 30s maybe late 20s in game.

Clown is our next killer and he is the easiest one. Or one of the easiest. His exact year of being taken is 1964 his bio tells it to us exactly if you add up the dates. Yes it says he’s been roaming the country, but it doesn’t state for how long. So he could still be in 1964. Subtract the two years from when he was taken, and when he was born and you get 32 at the least.

Spirit is next and what confuses me as well is the oni mask, the building looks old (could be wrong and it’s fairly modern.) The katana used to kill her, all of it. But she has a job, she’s in school. And Adam’s backstory might help because there are trains from the time period. (Could be wrong again.) She might be from the 1970s. Her school girl outfit suggests high school but I would think college instead. So she is in her early 20s.

Legion is obvious when they get taken. Their map offering states “Aug. 28th, ‘96” A photo of the members of Legion taken in 1996. Frank was stated as being 19, Julie given the time of being taken, was 17. Susie would be 15 which would explain why she didn’t want to kill the Janitor. Joey not having anything stated, would make sense to be 17 as well given his stature and build that we see in game. Trusty pixel measurements would work as well, figure out how tall he is, find the corresponding average height for age, and you have Joey’s age.

Mr. Johnson is 1993 as stated in the news paper he reads which is only a week old. Given the height for the game he would probably be in his 30s. He’s old enough for a job, he’s old enough to travel. And he’s old enough to commit murder in a smart way. Stalking his victims and learning their routines before he strikes, he understands how to do this, and it looks like he’s been doing it for awhile.

As the person who made an entire thread about the Killer timeline, I just want to make a few statements about your timeline.

Trapper's backstory seems to indicate that unions are picking up speed, around 1954ish. Also, just a slight nitpick, Archie MacMillan owned the entire estate; which consists of a factory, mine, storehouse, his house (that I don't believe we see) and several other things we may not see. Just saying he owned the factory is not giving him enough credit.

The description of the Thompson House in Coldwind Farm states "After the horrific events of 1972, the building fell into disrepair and eventual ruin," putting Hillbilly here.

Azarov is a Russian surname, and his way of disposing of bodies is incredibly mob-like. The Russian mob was pretty active in the 90s. Also, Wraith is an African immigrant. Do you really expect him to have a job crushing cars in the 30s? Not saying it's impossible, but super unlikely.

Thanks to fellow forum member Rattman, I learned that Doctor's interrogation went on through the 70s until the institute was condemned in 1983.

I had a lot of trouble with Spirit too, so don't feel bad about this one. She went to Takamatsu University, which was established in 1996.

Just a few things I wanted to point out. Also, I don't think anyone really knows where Hag is from.

It seems that way it is possible he voice acted for Trapper Wraith and Hillbilly.

    https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4270226/

His work goes cold after 2016 which is a concern because for all we know he could have retired who knows.

Considering he voiced Jeff, he's probably not retired.

Except for that one time where Kramer slashed Tapp's throat and almost killed him intentionally. He did try at least.

That wasn't Kramer. He was on the bathroom floor playing dead at that time.

The man who killed Tapp was Zepp, who was forced into a game by Kramer, or he would die of poisoning.

  • I have extreme coulrophobia, so Clown.

Also, if they are all together, Legion would be terrifying. Alone though, I could probably take Susie, Julie or Frank. Don't know about Joey.

  • Dwight - Who would play him?

Meg - I feel this would make Sprint Burst too unbalanced.

Claudette - Okay, this one isn't so bad.

Jake - To close to the Killer. If it showed you their aura 8 or more meters away from yourself, but showed you to them, then I would be okay with it.

Nea - If the thread about removing the struggle pressing says anything, it's that people HATE the struggle phase.

Laurie - Requires you to be the Obsession... There are 4 Survivors Obsession perks and 7 Killer Obsession perks. To little chance to actually be useful, since Laurie's perks are not that great.

    Ace - Not that bad.

Bill - I think this is balanced. The hooks are generally close enough that this wouldn't really affect things that much.

Min - Just... no. Slowing your teammates down just because you are playing a certain character is a big no. People will start lobby dodging like mad when they see her on their team.

    David K. - Not bad.

Quentin - More specification please. Are they required to be working on the same thing? Or is your description very literal and you are literally saying that as long as they perform the same action, they recover from Exhaustion faster?

David T. - Handy, but at the same time, the downside is just too high.

Kate - No one will play her, as the hum will give her position away to the Killer.

Adam - There are so few stack-based perks to actually make this effective.

Jeff - With a base of 8% to unhook, without offerings, the chance is still way too low.

Jane - How often do you actually get to work with other Survivors?

Ash - He is described as the "Alone Wolf". While this does seem useful, it does not fit his theme.

Those are just my two cents on this. All things considered, it is much more balanced than most "Make Survivors Unique" threads, but the issue is always going to be the same. People are going to demand you play a certain character, and if you don't switch to the one they want you to be, they will likely leave. Especially if you want to be Feng Min.

What about the other license survivors? ghostface also had to see saw and nightmare on elm street (2010), so he identified the detective tapp and quentin smith as well

Okay, again, Ghost Face is from 1993. Saw was released in 2004 and Nigtmare on Elm Street (2010) was released in... do I even have to say it? He literally COULDN'T have seen them.

  • It would have to be Spirit for the exact reason I suck at Survivor.

She gives me so much anxiety and I have a mental breakdown. I think I've only escaped her about 4 times.

  • Nea. The only thing good about her is her perks.

  • I main Doctor, not because he's good (because he's not), but because he's fun.

I'm also one of the few people here who actually likes Legion.

  • Just remembered a somewhat funny one: I was chasing an injured Meg and she vaulted over a window and started tbagging me.

I was playing Huntress. I think you can see what happened next.

  • Satisfying: All gens were done, I was playing Trapper. I have been unable to hook anyone the entire game. I finally down Bill, than Tapp gets caught in a trap right next to me (at a pallet too). I slap him, then walk up the hill and hook Bill. Meg is right behind me and tries to save him. She runs away, Tapp gets free, but is no threat. As I'm chasing Meg, I briefly see Claudette making a run for Bill, now in stage 2. The door is open. I down Claudette and hook her, then Meg gets stuck in a trap (again, at a pallet). I grab her and hook her, then find Tapp and hook him (I'm not even sure Clown was out at the time of this game, so no EGC). 4k at the last possible moment.

Funny: I don't really have one for this, so I'll just bring up the color-coded Dwights named Mario and Luigi. That made me laugh.

Scary: It was the end of the game, and I had avoided the Killer for the entire match as Feng Min. I hear a heartbeat as I'm opening the gate. So I run away, then start walking so I stop leaving scratch marks. For a quick moment I look behind me... and there was a crouching Pig following me.

    I died.

Scary: Unexpected DS from Jane while playing Wraith. Scared the living daylights out of me.

  • Scream 1: Billy Loomis and Stu Macher, two teenagers who loved horror films from 1996

Scream 2: Mickey Altieri, in it for the money, and Debbie Loomis, wanting to avenge her son from 1997

Scream 3: Roman Bridger, the man behind all of the murders 2000

Scream 4: Jill Roberts and Charlie Walker, in it for the fame from 2011

DBD: Danny Johnson, a psychopathic news reporter from 1993

The Ghost Face is from before ANY of the Scream movies. He is a different character.

  • You pretty much answered your own question.

Survivors and Killers are built differently.

What you are talking about would be pretty much impossible to code, since you are essentially asking for one cosmetic to have two forms.

You may see something like that with the hood down, but you will NEVER see it with the hood up. That's asking for way too much.

  • I would repeat what everyone else is saying, but I'll actually give you a different answer.

Toss Nea into the campfire and alternate between Meg and Min. Problem solved,

  • I like the variety. So yes.

The only DLC I don't actually have are the cosmetic DLCs.

  • Claudette and Jake are pretty obvious. I mean... LOOK AT THEM!!!

  • I play for fun. It's the sole reason I main Doctor.

  • Ace Mori.jpg

Been waiting for a chance to show this one. Forgot to report it as a bug, but it was still funny.

For those wondering what's happening here, in my quest to level Ace up, I ran into a Leatherface. Because I suck at Survivor, he moried me. Somehow, he learned how to go invisible during the mori.

  • If I have, I wouldn't know. There's only a few I regularly notice on here (you're one of them Mushwin), but when I'm in game, I take one glance at the names and then refer to them by their character (unless their name makes me laugh), and I pretty much immediately forget the name going into the next match.

  • Yeah, Leatherface was hard for me too. Attempted from levels 10-35 before I finally got it.

And this was BEFORE the double pip requirement. I don't even want to imagine the pain you went through.

  • The only thing I don't like about him is how much he lags my game.

I'll readily admit that I am an atrocious Survivor, but I still enjoy the challenge that Herman provides. Especially given my usual stealth playstyle.

  • Having played Jeff for a while trying to level him up, and standing next to a Meg for a little bit... No. She is not. Is she loud? Yes, but not the loudest.

I can still hear Jeff's non-injured, non-running breathing in my head.

  • They brightened some clothes due to a) being too sneaky and b) possibly unintentional with game system update.

  • NO!! POWEAS!! YOU'RE ONE OF THE GOOD ONES!!

In all seriousness, I hope whatever you want to do goes well. And hopefully the devs actually fix the que times, so if you do come back, you can actually enjoy the game again.

  • I kid you not, I have started walking like the Legion.

    I need help.

  • Doctor - I don't care if I win or not. My rule of thumb is this: Did I enjoy the game? And I always enjoy my games as Doctor. Also, Bloodpoints.

Spirit - I may not be the greatest with her, but I love playing her regardless.

Legion - I just love running around like a maniac.

Huntress - Not as much as I used to, but she was my first Killer, and I can just sit back and relax as I hum with her and throw hatchets.

  • @Aztreonam78 said:

You can be wrong bcs you doesnt consider that the Entity's realm is a beyond time and and the Entity could catch for example the Wraith earlier than the Trapper. And devs once said that the Nurse is the longest killer is in the service of the Entity. About Adiris devs just said that she is the oldest real-time killer.

This isn't a timeline of what order they were taken, but of where they fit on our world's timeline. Adiris is first BECAUSE she was the oldest Killer. Philip is after Evan BECAUSE historically, in Earth's normal timeline, he came after. Could the Entity have taken Philip first? Yes. But that's not what this timeline is.

  • I am so sorry that I'm late to this. I was AWOL visiting my brother and had no access to my account for over a week. Just know that I did see the original post, but couldn't respond.

I actually did attempt to make a timeline for Survivors, but it didn't really go anywhere. What I used were fashion trends to attempt to place each Survivor.

That said, I literally gave up when it came to Dwight and Meg (My note for Dwight literally says "I hate everything"). I do recall, in a thread talking about character ages, that someone said the devs said that Dwight was older than Jake, so I put him at roughly 25-28, and Meg earned a college scholarship but didn't actually go, so I put her at 19-20ish.

I'm a little more sure about Claudette's placement, while at the same time having trouble understanding it. Apparently, from what I can see, the term "skinny jeans" didn't actually come into play until 2009 (yeah, I'm not sure I believe it either). If true, then Claudette's base "Blue Skinny Jeans" leg skin places her around this time. I will agree on the age you put her at.

I will agree with your and Rattman's placement of Jake due to the wifi connection. Again, younger than Dwight, so 20-24ish.

Again with the skinny jean thing, Nea also wearing them puts her also around 2009-present day. I will agree that Nea is probably 19, so there is that.

Laurie is from the movie "Halloween", taking place in 1978, so she is obviously from here, at the age of 17.

I put Ace in the 1990s because of the whole "aging 50's movie star" thing, meaning he would probably be in his twenties around that time (or older, I don't watch 50's movies so I don't know the actors of that time) and in the 1990s would be defiantly considered aging. Let's just ignore how I for some odd reason that I decided he was 47. 67 seems much more logical, give or take a little.

Feng Min is obvious. Her base polo says it is from the 2016 tournament I put her age at around 24.

David King was one of those that made me want to bash my head into a wall. None of his clothes had a notable year, and I could find little to nothing on bare knuckle fighting in England. I did find that his hairstyle was apparently popular in 2015 (or something close enough), so that is what I've decided. Age-wise, I put him at 30.

Quentin is from the 2010 remake of "Nightmare on Elm Street" and as such is from then. Personally, I believe his backstory takes place three months after the events, meaning he could still be 17 or have grown to 18.

David Tapp is from the original "Saw," released in 2004, so, as both you and Rattman concluded, this will be his year. Age wise, his actor, Danny Glover (one of the few actors who I actually recognize) was about 58 when filming, so I'll go with that.

Again, going with the fashion thing, I have to place Kate after 2013. The term "jorts" apparently didn't come into use until then (again, not sure I really believe this, but research is research) and those are what her base leg skin is (also the only thing I don't like about her).

For Adam, his theme is 80's nostalgia. I believe this means he would be growing up at this time. So teenage Adam is from the 80's. He goes to college (I'll use a typical age 20 senior) and goes into teaching. This is where I believe you miss it. Putting him at 22 really misses a huge part of his backstory. Getting a teaching degree takes 4 years. Even at 18, he would only reach 22 by the end of it, then there's a whole year he goes before he even GOES to Japan. And he started seeing himself as a teacher DURING college. So, roughly a year of wandering, four years of teaching degree getting, a year of teaching in Jamaica, then a few months in Kagoshima. Final age, 26. Final year, however, is actually the same. 1997. Just, might want to fix the age a little.

I wrote a whole discussion on Jeff and the Legion about how they weren't taken at the same time. During it, I picked up on Frank being adopted by Clive three years prior to the janitor's murder. Assuming that he made Jeff paint the mural a few months later, and Jeff was a senior (about 19-20) when he went to Winkler, Jeff graduated in 1993. He becomes a roadie for a few years (as stated in that discussion, few usually refers to three or more) so he is about 22-23 by 1996. He gets into a fight and takes several art classes (which usually take about four years to complete, and as I once again stated, Jeff doesn't seem like he would drop out). So, by 2000, he is 26-27. Then he led a nice, simple life. I would put him in 2006 at least, at the age of 32-33.

We both came up with the same year for Jane, but for different reasons. My reasoning was that Oprah Winfrey's show ended in 2011, and Jane had her show running at the same time (remember, she IS based on Oprah). I put her later because she kept going while Oprah decided to end her show. I made her a bit older though. 38, to be exact.

Finally, we come to Ash. There is something that both you and PhantomMask forgot (though, I can't really blame you as I would have gone with the same assumption). At the end of Season 3, (SPOILERS by the way) he defeats the demon Kandar, barely surviving himself. A Knight of Sumeria named Lexx saves him. And (this is what wasn't considered) TRANSPORTS HIM TO THE FUTURE!!! Again, can't blame you guys for missing this. it's only mentioned in the last sentence of his backstory, and even then, it is very brief. I'll accept your age for him, but the year is incredibly uncertain, other than a dystopian wasteland. So, let's say 2098 and call it a day.

That is basically all I had. Again, sorry for being so late with this. And I'm basically operating on two hours of sleep right now, so... Any mistakes in my judgement/memory are for that reason (also, all my research was done in roughly in January at like, 2 in the morning, so yeah).

  • I wanted to wait for Ghost Face to be officially released before I throw him in here, but I'm not going to be here at that time (or for that entire week, period). So I'm throwing him in early.

  • Yes.

I had a Survivor game on The Game, and barely two minutes in, two people DC. Thirty seconds later, I see Susie start walking my way.

She was super nice and let us escape due to it.

  • Okay, I got most of mine before Adiris came out, but I'll put mine in anyway.

    image.png

I actually forgot I didn't do Huntress until she was about level 24.

Legion I honestly wasn't trying most of the time, but three Bills just waltzed one at a time into the basement while I was going up the stairs.

Doctor I somehow got when everyone DC'd.

I don't really remember how the others went.

  • For me, it was Ace (who might as well not even have perks) and Kate (who took me almost twelve attempts).

I think the Michael I went up against as David had pity on me and I had barely any contact with the Huntress in my Laurie game. So I really lucked out with them.

Everyone else was pretty simple honestly.

  • This is actually something that's been running through my head since before Legion.

My idea was that every Killer had their own movie, and it was all somehow interconnected, but I'm really bad when it comes to doing that.

  • I think people have pretty much hit it home. He's a large target, loud as hell and doesn't have the greatest cosmetics.

I don't think I've touched him since Adepting him myself, but I'll be getting him to Level 30 soon (from Level 11, I hate myself).

Semi-related, I almost never see Adam either.

  • So, let me get this straight. You are telling people with poor internet that they shouldn't be allowed to access half of the game?

Yes, it is annoying, but people have dealt with it for three years. Besides, soon that lag will be a mostly distant memory with dedicated servers anyway.

  • Despite popular belief, Legion is actually pretty fun.

I would definitely recommend Monitor & Abuse to help you get closer and Discordance to tell you where you can maximize your Frenzy potential. And like Glint said, they are one of the best at earning Bloodpoints, just a little below Herman.

  • He has the POTENTIAL to be a really powerful Killer if done right.

Unfortunately, that's not how he is right now. Pretty much everyone has spoken about the same fixes to death, but obviously, looking at him to disable his power is stupid, he's a stealth Killer with no stealth capability, the Exposed is too short, and he barely has time to lean around corners.

If they could fix these, Ghost Face could be really fun, and at least a mid-tier Killer. Right now, he's just useless gutter trash.

Oh, sorry. That was inaccurate. Let me fix it. COMPLETELY useless gutter trash.

  • Somewhere, ages ago, BHVR said Nurse was, but they may have gone back on that.

As @mistar_z said, time is relative to the Entity. It's the reason why we can have a 17 year-old Laurie Strode from 1978 and a roughly 20 year-old Feng Min from 2016 (if her base-polo is to be believed) at the same time without any obvious aging on Laurie's part.

  • I play all of them, mostly semi-effectively (yes, even Legion). But if I had to pick one that I have a hard time with, and tend to avoid, it would be Plague. She's just frustrating.

  • Seems like everyone has forgotten Jeff here. He's practically extinct.

  • Favorite: Mother's Dwelling

Least Favorite: The Game. Unless I'm playing Doctor.

  • A few tweaks, yes. Full rework, no.

Sally is in a good place. She is unbelievably hard to master, but once you do, she can be a force to be reckoned with. Dead by Daylight is supposed to be an asymmetrical game. The Killer is supposed to be the power role. Sally is one of the few that actually is.

  • @seir said:

Your suggestion sounds a bit too OP. If every survivor ran this perk, the last survivor would get a guaranteed free escape.

I'd change Left Behind to increase the exit gate opening speed, if you're the last remaining survivor. You'd still have to work for your escape.

Wake Up! already does this. And you don't need to be the last one.

I guess it could synergize well, but the chance of you using Wake Up! (which is an amazing perk when EGC begins) would (hopefully) be far greater than you getting to use this imagining of Left Behind.

  • Tierlist.JPG

From what I've seen with Ghost Face (I'm still so mad about that space), he is solid Daily Only tier. And I've seen his daily. (For those that haven't, you need to Expose a Survivor while leaning and hit them. Three times.)

  • As long as they update it for every new Survivor and/or Killer, I'll be happy (hopefully Jane and possibly Ash get Christmas sweaters in December).

  • Like Zgor said. Any one of those (except maybe Killer and Slasher due to the confusion that could cause, with the whole side being Killers under the internal reference of Slasher). Hell, maybe, I don't know... COMBINE THE WORDS!!! Having a Killer with a two word name is stupidly clunky. Isn't his name usually Ghostface with no space anyway?

  • They'll be doing something similar with archives

In these, you play the game like normal, except certain things you do will unlock story elements for each character.

Probably as close as we'll ever get to a true story mode.

1 … 17 18 19 20 21 … 24
