  • It is so close between Rat Liver and Black Heart for me.

Rat Liver for that speed increase while preparing to Shred and Black Heart for getting back up if you miss.

It seriously needs an add-on rework.

  • You combine it with things like Unbreakable and/or Inner Strength, it can be a bit annoying, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Just annoying when you get caught by it during it's last second.

  • I use them, but they just don't really work on the Survivor side.

On the Killer side, they are nice and visible, but I hardly notice them on my Survivors. They need to be a little bigger or something, because they just get lost under jackets and whatnot.

  • I would be alone if everyone kept misusing my name too.

I can't believe nobody has thought about this, but I just wanted to point out that Jake Park on the wikipedia is labeled as "Asian American" under the Nationality / Ethnicity category.

Now, obviously that could mean just about anything and it's probably a bit of a long shot, although I would say it's probably the likeliest circumstance that out of all the survivors he might be able to speak a little bit of Chinese (of course that's only if he actually is, if he isn't then rip Feng) I kind of like that actually. Both Jake and Feng are solitary survivalists who keep to themselves, they kind of share a bit of a unique kinship.

From what I've heard from my brother (who's a bit like an adam francis type character, he likes languages) Chinese and Japanese are extremely different. If he was living in Japan as a permanent resident I wouldn't expect him to go out of his way to understand Chinese, it's kind of like that phrase "comparing apples to oranges" both circular fruits, but not quite the same at all.

I can see where you're coming from though

Jake is more than likely Korean American, given Park being extremely common among Koreans. If he knows any Asian language, it would probably be Korean, not Chinese, so Min is still on her own.

It just makes sense that after learning Japanese he would also learn bits of other Asian languages, especially since he's a teacher

Japanese and Chinese are, as Seiko says, EXTREMELY different. And Adam's lore tells us that "His Japanese was elementary at best, which slowed him down." It wasn't until right before the train derailed that Adam finally fully understood it, which wouldn't be enough time to learn an entirely separate language.

First of all, thank you for all the comments - it's been a huge help. I've finally had time to go through them all, and I have some clarifying questions for some people. Some of these may sound rather pedantic, but I'm genuinely just trying to understand your ideas better.

Which second chance perks specifically do you avoid as survivor? Why do you assume that Nancys and Bills in particular are likely to be a detriment to the team?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253676#Comment_1253676

You say that you like to do totems as survivor if the gens are going too fast. Is that a tactical move in case of NOED (since if gens are getting done fast, it's likely no one else has bothered with totems), or a kindness to the killer, or a combination of both?

You teabag killers who camped and tunnelled, but don't want survivors to teabag you if you had a bad game. What if a killer camped and/or tunnelled because they were struggling? Do you consider it acceptable as a killer for a survivor to teabag you if you camped or tunnelled them? (I'm not attacking or judging you, just trying to understand your point of view.)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253697#Comment_1253697

Can you elaborate on what you mean about being toxic with perks? Are there particular perks that you will never use, or that you will only use in specific scenarios?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254245#Comment_1254245

What would you define as "abusing" DS?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254361#Comment_1254361

Do you ever use killers that have an insta-down built into their power? If so, do you use that power?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254625#Comment_1254625

By "farmers", do you mean survivors who rescue teammates near you, or survivors who are trying to farm for bloodpoints?

If you don't use the Tombstone Piece, does that mean you also won't use Judith's Tombstone, or is that an exception for some reason?

What do you consider "accepting" a boop? Do you let the survivor escape, or do you only let them live until you see them again?

Do your survivor rules apply only to yourself as a survivor, or are those expectations that you have of the survivors when you play killer as well?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254890#Comment_1254890

Do your survivor rules apply equally to other survivors, or are they purely self-imposed?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1258641#Comment_1258641

Do you avoid Haddonfield and Ormond offerings out of respect for the killer, or because you personally just don't like playing on those maps?

My Survivor rules are largely self-imposed since I don't have any way to communicate them to others. It would be nice if other Survivors followed them, and the game would probably be in a better place community-wise, but I don't get my hopes up for it.

Hope this answers the question, since I know my explanations often make things even more confusing.

I'd love fixated on the shrine But I do know that the DLC perks are rarely on the shrine is because you guys would rather people buy the DLC, rather than put the perks on the shrine and that's just how it is

Let's be real Yui's perks either won't be on the shrine until September 2021 or June 2022

Ace in the Hole (Ace's perk, DLC on PC) seen in Shrine 11 times.

Alert (Min's perk, DLC on PC) seen in Shrine 9 times

Decisive Strike (Laurie's perk, DLC on all ends) seen in Shrine 11 times

Dying Light (Michael's perk, DLC on all ends) seen in Shrine 10 times

And I could go on. The fact is this: There are 146 perks in the game. The Shrine gives those that belong to characters, and each character has 3 perks. So that's 63 Survivor perks possible in the Shrine and 57 Killer perks possible in the Shrine (EDIT: total of 120). The Shrine takes 2 from each pool, giving each Survivor perk a 2/63 (0.0317%) chance of being drawn and each Killer perk a 2/57 (0.0351%) chance of being drawn. As more perks get added to the game, those chances are going to get lower. It has nothing to do with BHVR purposefully hiding the perks so people buy the DLC and everything to do with (as Peanits said) probability.

  • Let me introduce you to Aftercare, a perk belonging to Jeff Johansen, who was released on the 11 of December, 2018.

It didn't appear in the Shrine of Secrets until Week 9 of 2020. For reference, we are heading into Week 19 of 2020.

Meanwhile, all of Jane Romero's perks were released before that, and she came out on the 19 of March, 2019. There was also Flip-Flop (Ash's perk), released in Week 32 of 2019, Mettle of Man (also Ash's perk), in Week 47 of 2019 (Ash came out on the 2nd of April), I'm All Ears (Ghost Face's perk) released in Week 1 of 2020, Thrilling Tremors released in Week 5 of 2020 and Furtive Chase, released Week 46 of 2019. All before a perk that was in the game for 2 years before getting in the Shrine.

  • As Killer

    • Don't camp Survivors unless their hook is right along your patrol route, in which case your check ups will be much more frequent.
    • If a Survivor is unhooked, and you see the unhooker, go for them. If you see no one, everybody is fair game, including the unhooked.
    • If you have a mori, don't use it unless certain conditions are met: Have they been hooked twice? If so, they'll be dead anyway. Are there more than two gens left? If so, the game is still even, don't unbalance it. Did someone try and fail to flashlight blind you? If so, the blood is on their hands.
    • Don't run NOED. Seriously, don't.
    • Don't use Iridescent Head. It's broken and needs to be changed.

    As Survivor

    • Don't teabag the Killer. You're just asking for trouble.
    • Don't go clicky clicky with a flashlight unless trying to get another Survivor's attention (or respond to another click from a Survivor).
    • If Kindred shows me that the Killer doesn't leave for long or stands still and vanishes, I'm not coming to save you unless I have BT or it's right at the end of the match. Sit there and waste his time.
    • If the Killer is chasing you, and you know others are working on gens ahead of you, don't bring the Killer to them.
    • Don't be annoying in the exit gates, but stay until you know everyone is clear to leave. Basically, don't abandon your team.
  • If everyone is the same Survivor with the same cosmetics and I have those cosmetics, then yes. Did this once against a Hag with a full lobby of Claudettes. On a farm map.

Poor Hag didn't know who to go for half the time. Unfortunately, only I escaped through the hatch. I think we only had 2 gens left.

    1. Could prevent 3-genning with 4 gens left at 1 gen to do, but gens do not need an adjustment like this.
    2. So... in order to get the all through hatch achievement, EVERYONE needs a key? No.
    3. Respawning pallets are a terrible idea. They are meant to be a last resort. Having them respawn would just make dropping them less urgent, as well as completely mess up add-ons related to Doctor and Freddy
    4. While I could see this being good, imagine trying to do an Archive that requires an item, or the Sabotage daily with a character you don't have Saboteur on... only to be unable to use it because someone else is doing the same thing. Or someone's entire build revolves around one item. Toxicity in pre-game chat would increase and lobby dodging would be insane.
    5. Cypress already works this way. Ivory is fine as is. Your balancing for Ebony is one of two acceptable ideas for it (the other, and the one I'd prefer, is to have everyone be hooked at least once before using it).
    6. Trapper needs buffs. This ain't it.
    7. No to item destruction and rarity reduction... but possible yes to increase time to search.
    8. This is just chests (with your idea of them) that provide add-ons instead.
    9. Add-ons for Killers can have a dramatic effect over the entire game. Take Doctor. He goes in with nothing, suddenly he finds an Iridescent head. Or Nurse, who might suddenly be unable to blink through walls. Or Freddy, who suddenly has pallets instead of snares. Or Deathslinger who's chain is suddenly weaker. Or Huntress, who suddenly has less Hatchets but can instantly down. Too many variables to worry about.
    10. Reduction just needs to happen faster. That's literally it.
    11. Hillbilly needs a complete add-on rework. And Cannibal needs his own add-ons, period.

Look, I appreciate what you are trying to do, but your changes are just not it. They favor Killer way too heavily, and I say this as someone who FAR prefers playing Killer. I mean, it's a change of pace from the usual "balance" changes that I see that cripple Killers, but this is not what needs to happen. Dedicated servers need to be more consistent on both sides, DS needs to deactivate when you go back to work, NOED needs a complete rework, iridescent heads need to change, keys shouldn't be instant, etc. These would be actual balance changes that would even out the playing field a bit.

  • As I speak, I have 666 hours on Steam. And yes, I stopped at that on purpose.

Admittedly, being in the store, Archives and waiting for lobbies does make up some decent hours of that, but not enough to shift my answer.

  • The dude has a brace on his left leg, so he's putting more weight (and, as such, shifting his hips) on his right leg. I don't see how that makes him look gay.

He's also from the 1800s, where I'm pretty sure being gay was (unfortunately), illegal.

Not saying he can't be, but I just don't see it.

  • I'll admit, this post may be a bit biased, as Oni is my secondary main and I can't play Hillbilly if my life depended on it.

When Oni gets a hit, he gains tracking abilities. Hillbilly... has no tracking.

Oni controls rather easily (for me). Hillbilly, for whatever reason for me, has always felt super clunky with his turning.

In Demon Form, Oni can simply charge an M1 to instantly down. Not even that long. Hillbilly has to charge his chainsaw.

Oni can hit obstacles without ending his charge. Hillbilly stops immediately and hits a brief cooldown.

Oni has the flick, giving him a far wider range to hit. Hillbilly has to hit dead on and has very little ability to quickly turn.

Hillbilly moves faster than Oni when charging, so I'll give him that.

Hillbilly also always has his power available, giving him a far better early game (when you can play him). Oni's biggest weakness is that early game.

According to my (again, slightly biased) analysis, Oni is better than Hillbilly, but that bad early game can seriously hurt him if you don't find Survivors immediately.

  • Freddy, absolutely not. If ANY FNAF character were to be added, it should be Springtrap.

Thanks for clarifying, hopefully the devs read this so that they can be more consistent with her name and stop confusing people.

I honestly wouldn't hold up hope for BHVR to do it right. They've already horribly messed Rin Yamaoka up far beyond simple repair (seriously, I try not to get annoyed, but that pronunciation in her archive was abysmal), and even if THEY get it right, the majority of the playerbase will continue using "Feng" as her first name. Honestly, like what Kakateve said, it's probably best to use her full name.

  • The Devs have no clue how to use Min's name, so I'll clear it up for you.

Her real first name is Min. They got it right with her Adept achievement, but that was the last time they did. After that, they started going to Feng instead.

I actually asked one of my friends how to pronounce her name (he's from Taiwan, where they speak a dialect of Chinese, but it's still Chinese). The way he wrote it down for me was "Foong Min"

In the trailer for Cursed Legacy, Yui's name was, in fact, written as "Kimura Yui".

    image.png

They just changed it in game for... reasons that I can't explain because I have no clue.

I guess it's just easier to say Japanese names either way than it is for Chinese names (Min Feng just doesn't roll of the same way as Feng Min).

  • I like playing Doctor because I can mess with people through the hallucinations.

Iridescent King lets me throw them all in at once.

  • First off, this should be in Lore, not General Discussions.

Second off, the Legion ARE NOT FORMER SURVIVORS!

Let's tear these down one by one. "They haven't been touched by the Entity." Neither has Michael. Neither has Bubba. Neither has Clown. Neither has Huntress. From artwork that is out there, we know that Plague hasn't been either.

"They're barely murderers." Neither Spirit nor Plague killed anyone. Legion has. Next.

"Nancy, Bill and Ash are all comfortable with guns and are killers and still ended up as Survivors." Morally, they are good guys. Sure, Ash may be a jerk, but when push comes to shove, he fights for good. The Legion are a group of kids who... well, here's a quote from their lore: "Bullying , vandalism, and theft were essentially their weekend plans. It came to a point where they would do anything he asked. Nothing was off-limits when they put their masks on." They were anything BUT morally good.

"They know Jeff personally." "And they're on good terms." Jeff was,at MOST a high school senior when he painted that mural. MANY years passed since then, and he only really had that ONE interaction with them. Most likely, the Legion would have forgotten about him. And if they do remember him, they likely don't recognize him.

"Their Chapter was called Darkness Among Us, which is probably a reference to the fact that they're Survivors who decided to kill independently."

I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but the ENTIRE POINT of the Legion is that you wouldn't expect them to be Killers. THAT is what Darkness Among Us means. That was the whole point of the chapter. The character roles were reversed. Jeff is this big, intimidating giant that most people would run away from. However, he is really a quiet sweetheart. The Legion are a group of teenagers. In NO WORLD would you expect them to be ruthless killers, and yet, here they are.

Face it. The Legion are, and always have been, Killers.

  • Since I don't see Doctor or Oni on this list, I'll pick the next best thing.

Bring STBFL and Demi becomes ridiculous. Hit everyone but the Obsession, then Shred the Obsession, you find yourself not losing your stacks.

Hold Shred when approaching Survivors at pallets, they need to drop them fast, and you break them nearly instantly.

It needs some changes (add-ons, stomp stomp, just noise in general), but they are a lot of fun to play, as well as being pretty powerful.

  • This was a LONG time ago, back when Clown was either non-existent, in PTB or just came out. I injured a Meg who vaulted the window into the shack. I stood at the window and she started teabagging me.

I was playing Huntress. Need I say more?

Still one of my most vivid memories of this game.

  • 90% of the time, it's just me being stupid.

  • Scratched Mirror

Only really good on a few maps, but it is so much fun to use.

  • It used to be directional, but they changed it because it gave too much warning that a hatchet was about to be buried five feet from your back and still hit you.

The song is, as PigMainClaudette above me said, a Russian fol lullaby called "Bayu Bayushki Bayu," essentially telling little kids to not sleep at the edge of their bed or else a wolf will come in and drag them off to the forest. Because nothing gets kids to sleep easier than the thought of being dragged away by a wild animal and presumably eaten.

  • I'm with Desh in how I thought of the community. I have seen enough throat-tearing here to last a lifetime.

I didn't move it THAT far down (maybe two clicks), but that was still what made my decision.

Everyone's thirsting over David so much that they forget how much of a butthole he is. And I think that discussing social justice issues suits Jane. She's a female minority with her own TV show who likes to discuss controversial topics, she's bound to talk about social justice. And after reading her tome, I don't think it was actually executed all that bad. Most of what happens in it are things that have happened and will happen in real life. I can understand how frustrated she felt when the play director asked her to perpetuate a stereotype, something that she had tried so hard to avoid doing in the past to the point of turning down career opportunities even though acting was her lifelong dream. People go through this sort of thing all the time, and it's reassuring to see popular characters go through the same things that they go through.

When I typed my rant on Jane, I was only on part four of her Archive, before she got the job. After completing it, my opinion has shifted a bit (I mean, it's still my least favorite Archive, but not to the degree it was at). I like how it connected to her being the host of Quick Talk at the end. I feel Dwayne's political commentary on minority films was actually pretty well done. And I like how Jane didn't sell out at the end. Those things saved it from being a complete dumpster fire.

But there are things that still irritate me. If she was a halfway decent actress, she shouldn't have the trouble she does getting a non-stereotypical role. This tells me one of two things: either she's not a good actress and doesn't want to admit it OR she has an atrocious agent that needs to be fired immediately (I want to say it's the latter). The director's actions were also straight up infuriating. It's the day before opening night, and NOW you decide to turn a major character into comic relief with an accent (which isn't even close to comedy, by the way, given it's how people actually talk)? What drugs did he take that made this look like a good idea?

Those points make me stand by my original statement of Jane being my least favorite lorewise, but not to the degree that she was before. Not even close.

  • Got this first game as Trapper on Coal Tower. I immediately went to the tower and found the basement and set up around there. Somehow, everyone else was down there as well, and they only got 1 gen done (they were being a bit too altruistic).

It was pure luck though, especially with the time this was done, due to DC penalties not being implemented and Survivors purposefully DC'ing to deny the challenge.

Keep at it, you'll get there eventually.

  • No add-on should have the power that comes with the Tuning Guide.

  • Base terror radius = 32 meters

    Max Distressing bonus = 26%

    Add them = 40.32 meters

    "Calm" - Carter's Notes = +8 meters

    "Calm" - Class II = +6 meters (total +14)

    Final total = 54.32 meters

EDIT: By the way, on the wiki (assuming you mean Gamepedia), you can hover over the bold text to get actual %'s.

David actually was on hard difficulty at first then they changed it to intermediate.

I remember that, and the change still confuses me.

  • The Killer side is understanding how their power works, although there are a few mismatches (Hag is as far from Intermediate as possible and Freddy is pretty easy to figure out, not worthy of being HARD).

Survivors are more focused on their perks, sort of telling the difficulty of their Adept (again, plenty of mismatches... looking at you David "Intermediate even though you have No Mither" King).

The Difficulty is honestly pretty pointless.

  • It doesn't. Hasn't since December at least, since that's when all the (very justified) complaints truly began. It was believed that BHVR would fix it when they got off holiday. Now here we are.

  • Survivors don't have passives for a very big reason. If someone played a Survivor deemed "non-meta," they would get flamed by their teammates for "sabotaging their chances." They'd get left to die while their teammates focus on the "meta" Survivors, and then you'd only see the same Survivors every match with even less variation than we currently have. They have no unique power so you can play who you want without being forced into a role.

And Killers absolutely do have something to make each one unique. It's called a power. Maybe you've heard of it.

  • If ANY licensed character was to get a Tome, it would likely be Danny "Ghost Face" Johnson. The people behind the license have clearly shown their willingness to cooperate with BHVR for skins, so there's that settled. Danny is also an original character, so they can come up with anything they want.

After that, I'd say the Stranger Things and Saw characters would be next most likely, given, again, Netflix's willingness to work with BHVR and the Saw skins that we got somewhat recently. Same goes for Ash, though he hasn't gotten that many skins compared to the others.

Not sure if Halloween, NoES, Bill or Leatherface would happen, given how limited they are all around.

However, like was said previously, if they do get Archives, they'll do it in a way that won't force you to buy those characters (probably just a lot of perk-based challenges).

so spirit ticks every box for being an onryo because she ticks almost every box for being an onryo and is inspired by a onryo, while oni doesnt tick every box for being an oni because he ticks almost every box for being an oni and being inspired by an oni, got it. so spirit is a spirit, but oni isnt an oni, because well, he just magically isnt even though all the boxes tick for oni to be an oni. his name is oni, he looks like an oni, sounds like an oni, acts like an oni, has oni powers, is undead, but just isnt an oni. its like saying because spirit is a vengeful spirit, looks like one, acts like one, (doesnt actually sound like one she sounds annoying af), has spirit powers, and is undead, she just isnt a spirit because she isnt.

Kazan was called an oni as an insult, not because he literally was a demon. "Real" oni don't wear armor like Kazan does, instead only wearing a loincloth. They usually stand taller than the tallest people (which he admittedly does) and have horns, fangs and wild hair. Kazan's mask has all of this, but Kazan himself...

    image.png

He just doesn't. He is just a human with far above average strength (which isn't even a stretch, considering the strongest human punch recorded is Francis Ngannou's 129,161 psi punch, and samurai were trained to be powerful). Yes, the inspiration is there, and if the Entity didn't get involved, he could have become one, but he isn't a true oni. Another thing to note is that oni have, to my knowledge, NEVER been portrayed with a katana, but Kazan uses it as his primary weapon. Everything that is oni-like about him comes from his Entity-given power, strength and mask.

Rin on the other hand IS an onryō. They are formed from those who died with extremely powerful emotions (such as jealousy, rage or hatred, two of the three of which Rin has) and are unable to pass on. They are usually the victims of horrible catastrophes (betrayal and murder being some of those, which, by the way, happened to Rin) and display the markings of their death (arms and leg chopped apart, side torn into, shards of glass piercing her body, all of these check) and are motivated entirely by revenge (the entire thing Rin was promised by the Entity).

  • Looking around, I'm finding conflicting information. There's this image from before Demise of the Faithful.

    image.png

It seems to show Adam being the tallest, more so than Jeff, with Min being the shortest. However, this image from before Chains of Hate seems to go against that.

    Untitled Image

According to this, Adam is shorter than Dwight, who was one of the shortest in the previous image. And Meg is somehow shorter than Min, when she was originally placed taller than Jake, who is now the second tallest. And Jeff is apparently really short among the males.

I'd place more faith in the top picture than the bottom one, but we really don't have a good answer. At least, until someone decides to do pixel measurements

  • He has a Terror radius?

Jokes aside, it's bad. I'm not sure I'd hear him if he had Distressing.

  • We don't have Sidney because we don't have the license for Scream.

If this is confusing, I will explain. When Scream was being filmed, Wes (I believe) found the mask and decided that it was what he wanted his killer to look like. However, he had to get it licensed from Fun World, the company that made the mask. This caused a small issue with Ghostface. He is split between two licences, one for the character, the other for the mask itself. The owner of the mask's rights was more than happy to work with BHVR on getting Ghostface in the game. The people who owned the rights to the character himself, however, probably proved to be too much, or it was simply too much money, and, as such, we do not have the license to Scream.

This is why our Ghostface is called Ghost (dramatic space) Face, why his real name is Danny Johnson rather than Billy Loomis or Stu Macher, and why we are unlikely to ever see Sidney. It would be nice to see, but is EXTREMELY unlikely.

    future maybe

Devs explained survivors from past wouldn't work well in the game since they wouldn't know what a generator is and how to fix it...but all modern survivor apparently know very well how to fix gens

That explanation just screams "laziness." As well as being plain confusing. You mean to tell me that Claudette, who has trouble focusing on almost anything that isn't related to biology, knows how to repair a generator equally as well as Yui, who literally trained herself to do so in order to race? That just makes no sense.

With the exception of Deathslinger that obviously came during the mass immigration of Irish immigrants to America which happens during the 1840s-1900s which especially solidifies this with the part in this bio about no Irish need apply I'd place everyone between the 1940s due to Nurse and Clown probably being the second oldest because of their clothes and map.

Clown clothes of that nature became increasing popular during that time as it was a way to poke fun at the government encouraging people to but in a hard days work when it was people putting in a hard days work that contributed to the stock marker crash of 1929 that latter led to the great depression which in turn lead to the first REAL talk of depression due to quality of life in America and not just labeling people as melancholy. It was during this time carnivals often set up shop right behind mental wards or in open fields because it was great way to make money in a steady supply. Doctors even wrote prescriptions for clowns. (But this is always what helped inspire Stephen King to write It/Hearing stories of this and he wondered about the psychological torture clowns endured by being forced to be happy every single day and put everyone else first and not their own selves and how they could express this torture. This along with architecture and referrel to Sally as Anglo American (a popular practice in this time to help differentiate from Irish immigrants and their children) puts them into this time frame.

"Youngest" I would say is Zarina because of the tape recorder, her style of dress, and her being Lebanese, what she endured in high school, and over all attitudes towards her culture. Because I'm old enough to know when Dubai was a tourist destination and everyone wanted to go the the middle east because it was exotic and the parties were like nothing else. (Seriously the parties are still this #########. I recently visited and I was drunk for a solid 2 weeks).

But this is assuming DBD actually did their research and didn't just go, oh this looks cool use that. I can post a complete list of everyone'd time era and why if anyone is interested.

for oni it's hard to tell and honestly i forgot about him (i never seem him at all).

If I could see his sword it would help place it alot. I would say after the meiji era but that's early 1900s

edit: sorry ends in the early 1900s. it started in 1868.

    (Tagging both because they're relevant)

If you want to discuss the placement of Killers timewise, I have an entire thread over in the Lore section (might have to dig for it) dedicated to that if you're interested (I will warn you though, it is pretty long). Someone tried to handle the Survivors too, but they left after Stranger Things.

And Oni is more than likely from the Sengoku period from 1467-1600, given his killing of peasant samurai, who would be banned from even owning swords after this period ended.

  • Part of me hopes that, if the Alchemist really is Vigo (as is theorized) and he is released later on, that Benedict is the Survivor that comes with him. Both are background characters that play a major role in the game's story, so seeing them come out together would be thematically wonderful.

Another part of me wants to believe that he is the Observer (though I'm pretty sure this was confirmed false). It would give him a bigger role that makes perfect sense for him.

The final part of me believes that he is in the Void, and we'll never see him again. He gave a description (well, a description in a similar style to Baker's existed, anyway) about Clown, and Spirit was when he truly disappeared, and I believe that was when we learned about the Void, so it would make sense.

  • Careful, someone might think you're serious (I already know which ones, their names are really not that important since everyone here knows them by now).

  • I play all Killers (my lowest is a tie between Hillbilly, Clown, Plague, Ghost Face and Deathslinger, all at 35), but if I had to pick who I'd prefer to play more than any others, it would be either Doctor or Oni. Doctor has always been fun for me (even before his rework), and he's one of my Killers at level 50 (the others being Trapper and Spirit, because Archives). Oni is not that high (39), but he just clicks with me. That and his very existence has become part of an inside joke between me and my friends (his name sounds identical to my old Chem teacher, who is fully aware of it too).

  • Like everyone else is saying, she's the dev's version of Sally Hardesty because (according to the DBD wiki), Leatherface doesn't have a specific Survivor in his films (I mean, that didn't stop Tapp from coming in afterwards, and Quentin is not who people think of with ANoES, but the latter is due to other reasons and Nancy Holbrook being a boring character).

Shape - Games against Myers are always tense, but in a good way. Not knowing where the danger is is part of the thrill.

Pig - Unless my teammates don't care about the traps. But Pig remains the only Killer to actually make me scream, so she's up there.

Ghost Face - I like actively dealing with his power, even if it is a buggy mess that needs looking at, and seeing him poke his head around the corner is fun.

Oni - Don't know why I like going against him. I just do.

Trapper - Usually, I like Trapper games, but there's those games where he's just really irritating with trap placement.

Wraith - Again, usually like, but then there are the games where they just go invisible and camp all game, with Kindred being completely useless against it.

Nurse - Sometimes fun, sometimes the teleportation is annoying.

Huntress - Most are fine I guess, if hitboxes and dedicated servers would work, then there are THOSE Huntresses. You know which ones I mean.

Cannibal - Games where he doesn't camp are actually pretty fun. But then there's Insidious Basement Bubba.

Legion - Legion's more of a mixed case like Huntress and Nurse. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't.

Hillbilly - I can't 360 to save my life, and I just don't really care for him.

Doctor - This hurts to say as a Doctor main, but he's really annoying to go against most of the time. I can go against games where he's a lot of fun, but more often than not he's irritating. Better than his old form though, where you had a passive Madness increase.

Nightmare - He's just boring. That and I really hate the Oblivious effect as well as the stupid fake pallets. Still better than not knowing where he was until he had you falling asleep.

Clown - Most boring Killer in the game in my opinion. Both as and against.

Spirit - My anxiety goes through the roof against her, and I feel my will to survive drain when I hear that whisper.

Plague - She's just a game of "Damned if you do, damned if you don't." And I'm not a fan of that style of gameplay.

Deathslinger - If his music was just a little louder, he'd be in "Fun," but that music is so ridiculously quiet and barely gives distance to work with that it irritates me more often than not.

Hag - She barely even exists, so she's here. The ones I do see are either really good with trap placement (Fun) or put five around the hook (No, Just no).

Demogorgon - I can count on two hands how often I've seen them, and in the past month or so, I've only seen one. Can't really say anything about them.

  • I like NOT playing in a maze, thank you very much.

That’s exactly what I thought too. Wasn’t it also said that Julie was preppy and got pretty good grades somewhere too?(I’ve heard this somewhere before but I’m not sure where and I’m too lazy to fact check) So it could also be her “fall from grace”, so to speak.

If it was said that, it's not on the wiki or in my memory (both of which I was using just to make sure I didn't miss anything), so I either missed it (entirely possible) or it wasn't said.
