What's the point in "Difficulty" in character details?

Title.

Most people will probably use their already strong characters to farm BP and max him/her out in no time anyway so what's with the "Easy/Intermediate/Hard" thing?

Why not just remove that and just add small passives for each characters?

Comments

  • The time to learn and understand the power.

Trapper : Pick up trap and put it down. Easy to understand.

Nurse: Calculating every blink and getting the muscle memory for the blinks takes some time. Hard to learn.

And giving characters passive would just shift the meta into the survivor with the best passive. And that's boring.

Survivors are just skins, so it's okay the way it is.

  • The Killer side is understanding how their power works, although there are a few mismatches (Hag is as far from Intermediate as possible and Freddy is pretty easy to figure out, not worthy of being HARD).

Survivors are more focused on their perks, sort of telling the difficulty of their Adept (again, plenty of mismatches... looking at you David "Intermediate even though you have No Mither" King).

The Difficulty is honestly pretty pointless.

David actually was on hard difficulty at first then they changed it to intermediate.

I remember that, and the change still confuses me.

  • For survivors it's probably utilizing their three base perks. Killers is understanding the power.

  • Survivor is just how difficult their adepts are (mainly to newer players). You’ll have a way harder time with Laurie’s adept than you would Meg or Claudette if you’re a beginner.

Killer is basically just understanding the way their power works and how long it’ll take you to become effective with them. Which is why a killer like Spirit and Oni are labeled as “Hard” because you won’t be great with their power right away and a killer like Trapper is labeled as “Easy” all you do is place traps.

Some don’t make sense though. Huntress and Deathslinger are labeled as “Intermediate” while Freddy is labeled as “Hard” which is far from the truth.

Spirit and Freddy should be "Easy"

  • It's character difficulty based on their 3 teachables

  • It was agreed by the community when they were added that difficulties have next to no meaning.

Sure, putting down a trap is easy but knowing where to put it isn't.

Sure, starting up LF chainsaw is easy but knowing when to do so isn't.

    Spirit is also straightforward.

Aaand then we have survivor difficulty ratings which mean nothing as they are assigned to skins or perks but nobody uses all perks from one survivor anyway.

  • Using Spirit's power (as a beginner) isn't all that easy.

    Although Freddy could be medium.
