  • Dead Hard doesn't require you to be in a chase to use it. You just need to be injured and not Exhausted.

Only way to counter it is by playing certain killlers. Wow perfectly balanced.

Never said it was balanced. Just answered the question you asked.

  • "Tell me how do I counter MoM?"

Play Huntress, Billy, or LF. If you are not playing one of these killers: Camp the first hook.

  • Can't say I see more DCs at a specific rank or after reset....

When I play killer I am usually Huntress, Billy, or Shape. Conservatively it is safe to say 7/10 of my games will have at least 1 DC.

  • Yep there are many valid options they could implement to stem the flow of disconnects, but I guess we are forced to wait for:

Dedicated servers to be released and stable > BHVR collects data > test & implement a change

From a development standpoint it makes sense to not implement something that will just have to be reworked once the infrastructure changes. But for an issue that is severely hurting the state of the game and community..... it needs to be addressed ASAP.

Let's hope there are still players left however many months from now once something actually gets done about it.

  • New killer perk:

10/10 Gameplay: Everytime you down a survivor there is a 50% chance they will automatically be disconnected from the game.

    "Are you having fun yet?"

  • Spirit OP? No.

    Prayer Beads Spirit OP? Yes.

She is also a top 3 killer even without prayer beads. When you 4k with a top tier killer survivor babies will always complain.

  • Brutal Strength:

Destroy dropped pallets and damage generators 50% slower.

    "Someone skipped leg day."

  • Iron Grasp:

Effects of Survivor struggling is increased by 500%

Time to struggle out of your grasp is increased by 4/8/12% (unchanged)

    "Go home killer, you're drunk."

  • @legion_main

"better placement" isn't possible. The spawn algorithm will always be easy to figure out. No matter how they restrict it (line of sight, range to survivor, range to generator, etc) it will always be simple to learn and easy to find totems.

I am not trying to be facetious. We can see totem placement changes don't work from so many changes already to totem spawns and still nothing has changed in the gameplay.

  • @legion_main

Theoretically having every totem gone by the end of the game is how you counter NOED reliably as it is.

If there were no Hex perks being used then there would be no incentive to break totems (unless you are worried about NOED) Just like it is now. Except right now there is only incentive to break 1 totem, then you are done.

So I really don't see much of a change to gameplay on the NOED front.

I think this change would give more incentive to actively breaking totems rather than just running by dull totems all the time if you know there is no hex active.

It would definitely cause using a Hex perk that is active right away and NOED a bit high risk, but still not useless.

  • @legion_main

Well I already said it would require balancing... but why do you specify NOED above others? I think with the EGC timer and a "cooldown" timer once the NOED totem is broken there wouldn't really be a lot of time to utilize a respawned NOED totem.

  • I like the idea, but think it would still suffer from similar situations where the survivor finds the correct totem and breaks it within the first 30 seconds of the game.

As the killer, using Hex perks vs decent survivors just feelsbad. It is very easy to learn totem locations on each tile and quickly find any Hex totems and break them.

One easy change would be: When a hex totem is broken the perk is disabled for a specified amount of time, after that if a dull totem is left on the map it will respawn on a random totem. Any tokens for the related perk would be reset when it is broken. This would obviously need balancing, but it would make Hex perks more consistent and would actually feel like not a wasted perk slot.

Yeah, getting used to the new legion a little more, it's not bad, but the power feels like nothing, to be honest... Only slightly different than playing a trapper without traps. the old frenzy provided a more frantic playstyle but it doesn't feel like that at all anymore. Sorry for kinda getting sidetracked and losing my point >.<

    @Endorb

Yep that is kind of my whole point, the power is not useless since you get an easy hit and lots of knowledge of people near you. The power does now force you to play the way they envisioned Legion working, but playing that way does not feel rewarding enough because of how little impact Deep Wound has on someone. It just feels bad spending so much time spreading hits around for such little reward. This was also the original problem with him which is why people started FF tunneling.

So FF tunneling is gone. His speed is now 115% so he is a viable M1 killer, but we are still left with an underwhelming power that gets you a free first hit and some tracking knowledge but not much else.

At least his current build is not a detriment on the community, but like many other killers I think now that he is "balanced" and must be played how BHVR designed him to play, he is going to fall into the "needs a rework" category where so many others killer have gone to die.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

i stoped reading at "i dont agree with legions power being abusable". #########?

    @MegsAreEvil

Maybe you should continue to read and improve at it, because nowhere in this thread does anyone say that. <3

The direct quote from the OP (which I think you are referencing) is: "the Legion power was pretty ... broken? and abusable, which I do not agree with that power and needs some adjustment"

While the grammar is not amazing (might not be a native English speaker/writer) the overall statement they are making is recognizing the power was broken/abusable and stating they did not agree with its design and that they think it needed adjustment.

  • Ghostface - Meh... at least a licensed killer is getting skins, but they are not great

Pig - Danggggggg Amanda, you lookin' good gurl

Wraith - It's ok, looks like a reskin

Huntress - Not a huge fan of helmet, body is ok and could work with other pieces well

Survivors - Feng and Officer skins look great, other two are meh

  • @Th3Nightmare

I don't agree that the power is "useless" since a free first hit and knowledge of anyone else in a 32m radius around you is not "useless" but I would say that Deep Wound is very underwhelming. I do think it was a big mistake for them to use the Deep Wound mechanic rather than coming up with a new mechanic like they did for Plague.

I like your idea about giving a bonus for additional chain hits. With the way Deep Wound is currently, it doesn't feel very rewarding to spread the damage around. It does create pressure and wastes some of the survivors time, but not really enough to feel worth it.

So overall I can see where you are coming from and why you think it's boring. I'm not in the same boat thinking he is boring, but I do think his power is underwhelming compared to other killers. Balance wise Legion is not in a bad spot right now, but his gameplay could definitely be improved/changed to feel more rewarding.

Survivors 99% to avoid Blood Warden. Just open it yourself.

This. You have the option to counter their strategy. Do it.

  • And if the gates are at 12:00 and 6:00 the killer has "no chance".

They are randomly generated so some games RNG favors survivors, other games RNG favors killer. This is how it should be.

Survivors already have maps with guaranteed safe exit gates (The Game & Lery's Memorial)

  • All survivors hitboxes are the same size.

She just thicc so fills it out better.

  • @Endorb

I agree that pre-patch Legion was more or less "forced" to tunnel someone till they were downed. Like I said in my post: the vision for the killer did not align with the tools provided, and players did what they had to to make the killer work.

Current Legion still forces the survivors to separate because it can still stab multiple survivors during one Feral Frenzy to spread the damage/pressure (original vision), and eliminates the first loop/hit of a chase by giving you an easy free hit. Then with the 115% move speed can now easily get the 2nd hit without getting looped forever.

So with that said I am not seeing (from the points you outlined) why Legion is no longer fun for you. It seems like it meets all your criteria, but the only thing it can no longer do is Feral Frenzy tunnel a survivor until they are down.

  • @Th3Nightmare

I have plenty of knowledge of the game. I am not here to swing the playtime e-peen around.

I never said you wanted the old legion. I re-iterated something you said in your post, and because you are raising this complaint now after the patch, asked if the pre-patch legion was fun for you and why. If it was not fun, and as you state now "I want a balance of this new legion and that it is fun..." then what would be your suggestion to make the Legion fun for you?

If you are not interested in actually discussing and merely created this thread to state your playtime and that you are unhappy.... good day sir.

  • They just need to make it so if you d/c you are not able to join a new game until the current game you d/c'd from has ended. Until the game has ended you will be given an option to spectate.

I have seen suggestions of allowing re-joining, but imo there is no easy way to balance it to where it wouldn't be abused.

While only being allowed to spectate would suck for a legitimate d/c, games really do not last that long anyways. And if you are actually getting legitimate disconnects where this prevents you from playing a lot then that is an issue you would need to fix on the ISP side.

  • @Th3Nightmare

I've been staying away from all of these anti-Legion update threads, but since you recognized his pre-2.7.0 power was broken/abusable. Lets talk.

Firstly I want to say that I like the Legion changes. I think they were needed and have put Legion in a much better place. I have been having fun playing him and playing against him now. He is a solid mid-tier killer.

So you said his power is not fun for you now. Was his power fun for you before? If so, why was it fun? I ask because his power before essentially forced you to tunnel a single person, and they had little to no chance to avoid going down. This was the strategy that the playerbase adapted because the vision for the killer did not match the tools that were provided.

  • I like the new Legion. Playing as them is actually fun now, and playing against them is no longer unbearable.

The only time I ever d/c in this game is in hostage situations and (up until 2.7.0) when Legion would moonwalk exploit. I am happy I no longer have to d/c for the latter.

  • With the release of dedicated servers on the horizon, I am curious as to why BHVR made the decision to invest in and implement this change. What does BHVR foresee the biggest benefit of this change will be and what feature(s) (if you can share) are planned to make this change worth it?

  • @Riif0

Think you need to spend some time playing killer. The killer does not get a hatch aura. They have to look/listen for it just like a survivor.

Survivors can even use the map item to show the hatch aura. Killers have no such tool.

  • @Riif0

The balance of power really depends on how the EGC is triggered. If you're talking about a 1v1 scenario where the killer closes the hatch to trigger EGC.... then yes the killer should rightfully have the advantage.

As a survivor in that situation you have so far failed to complete the main objective of generators, failed to find the hatch before the killer did, and you are now on your 3rd and final escape attempt. How many chances to survive are you wanting exactly?

    Holy thread resurrection, Batman.

    Is this how far back someone had to look for a positive post about the Devs? Feelsbadman ;_;

But in all seriousness.. Thanks devs, you are all awesome, thanks for making and continuing to work on this amazing game. <3

  • @Hoodedfengm1n

Since you said you play console here are the PS and XBOX refund policies. If you are within the policy I suggest contacting their support to get your refund.

PS: You can request a refund to your PSN wallet within 14 days from the date of transaction, provided that you have not started downloading or streaming your purchase.

Xbox: eligible for refunds within 14 days of purchase if you have less than 2 hours of play time across all accounts.

Asking for a refund on these forums accomplishes nothing. Unless your whole objective was to complain. In which case maybe provide some legitimate feedback and data if you think the Legion changes are not good.

This was worth the read just for the laughs, amazing

Agree. It's times like this I miss the 'Awesome' button

  • Was a new patch installed?

If Yes -> Sounds are broken

If No -> Sounds are most likely still broken

  • I suggest you take your refund request to the distributor that you purchased it from (Steam, PS, Xbox)

Although you will probably find you are not within your rights to get a refund.

  • Survivors can't hide in lockers until team dies and get a free escape anymore.

  • @Hoodedfengm1n

There's a first time for everything! Who knows you may enjoy it.

  • I went and saw Don Quichotte recently... so actually answered that opera survey question in the positive.... but I am in no way a regular of the opera.

  • If an "Achivement" is easy to get are you really achieving anything?

  • @DocOctober Yeah was kind of thinking that was the case. So figured i'd try and clarify it a bit.

  • @Bonesy1997

I'm confused about what you're asking... each map base has an offering, and if that map base has several variants it will randomly choose one of those variants.

For example: you can offer a 'Charred Wedding Photograph' to increase your chances of being sent to Crotus Prenn Asylum, then if that is where you end up going, it will choose between the 2 Crotus map variants: 'Disturbed Ward' or 'Father Campbell's Chapel'

Are you wanting offerings to go to specific variants of a map rather than just the base map itself?

  • Agree.

I never actually try to rank up anymore, but inevitably still end up hitting rank 1 on both killer and survivor, but I will usually hit that rank a little over a week before reset, so I just take a break and play after reset.

  • RNG is RNG. Just unlucky.

My question to you is how are you finding these elusive Pig killers? I haven't seen one in weeks.

  • *reads thread*

    *slowly backs away*

  • If it does not effect things that influence gameplay.... sure, just another way for people to support the game if they choose to spend $$ on cosmetics.

  • We are apparently stuck with it till dedicated servers are released, then however long after that is needed to collect data and implement a solution.

Lets hope there are still players left at that point.

  • Just because there is a double BP event happening doesn't mean every game is going to be farming.

It is pretty gross when it's a 3v1 and the killer is sweaty af, but regardless if they played the game to the best of their ability then that is just how they like to play.

  • The perk itself does very little against good survivors.

If you are against bad survivors the main benefit you get from it is the survivors will go run off to a corner and self care and waste a bunch of time.

  • When I play survivor I d/c against any Legion who starts abusing moonwalking+deep wound. Not going to give those players any points. Soon I won't have to d/c against anyone.

Anything else is fair play and most survivors just need to stop rage quitting.

  • It would be interesting to see an average of how long it takes 5 generators to be powered on, out of the games where 5 gens actually get completed.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7
