Behavior released the ptb notes and stated that the removal of pinheads voicelines were due to a technical/bug issue. That being said in previous ptbs killers have released without their audio files and were added later and I'm sure myself and others were assuming these lines would be added back later when the issues were fixed.

However if it is actually a copyright issue and behavior lied about the reason for their removal, never intending to add the voicelines back, then they were less than forthcoming about the product they were intending to sell.

So did BHVR lie on the ptb patch notes about it being a technical issue, or will the voicelines be fixed? Have the devs said anything?

You're acting like you expect BHVR to be transparent or something...

  • Go ahead and do that, if you so choose. Meanwhile, I'll run what I'd like, thank you. I'm not in a tournament, I play casually.

  • @Seraphor said:

No need to remove Keys. Just remove the Hatch spawning conditions when there are still generators left to repair.

    This.

  • The ever-growing grind has gotten ridiculous. There is way too much content for the little bloodpoints doled out. I switched to PC a half year ago and still nowhere near "finishing" it for the killers alone.

  • Buddy, I haven't been able to get past 15 because of these things for months; solo, SWF, Kindred, doesn't matter. I spend most of the match with the killer, whether I want to or not. I don't often get opportunities to do much else. So, I just can't rank up.

Oh well, it's nothing but bragging rights and now a couple of bonus bloodpoints.

  • You WANT survivors spread out on the map? At the very start? GG next.

    Boon: Grease Monkey

-While this Boon Totem is active, repair generators 10/15/20% faster.

Something along these lines will be part of the mid-chapter survivor's perks. I can guarantee it.

Stacked with Prove Thyself, Streetwise with toolbox/addons, good lord..

Try lunging around a corner with anyone, it's not just pinhead. Same goes for drop offs, you don't carry your forward momentum the moment you start dropping, so you can't make the haddonfield strode house a bit more bearable anymore.

Those sky high invisible walls over fences still gets me; I fully expect to be able to lunge over them with M1 when dropping off a roof, but it just doesn't work like that.

The killer need some buff honestly i still never had a chain hunt begin. Survivor are in complete control of his power and that sad.

Oh, I don't know, it's a bonus thing like Trickster has, it's not his main power. Plus, it's a built-in slowdown forcing survivors off generators to get to and solve the box or suffer the consequences.

  • They have got to slow down on their unsustainable 3-month schedule of releasing chapters so they can focus on the health of the game. I'm sure the playerbase won't mind reducing the number of chapters released per year if it means we have a fully working game.

  • Absolutely, it's so good. Kindred and BT, baby! I don't leave home without them.

  • That'd be cool, people might stop using that dumbass gown

  • Some of them, I really do, but they did go overboard with them.

  • Hands down RPD; it is not conducive for DBD. I'm not sad it's still broken because of that, but am terribly disappointed by the BHVR team that it is still broken.

  • Trickster is the only annoying one, I think

  • Least favorite killer to face is easily Doctor, followed by Hag, then Spirit/Trickster. All others are fine for me.

  • Doctor is my first choice, but Hag is my second.

  • Scott Jund made an excellent discussion video on this very topic:

    https://youtu.be/et09tBDAuDU

  • RIP Haddonfield for all killers

  • It's been out for a few hours, give it a week for your SBMMs to flatten out.

A slasher killer fits more in line with the game’s theme. Plus, an actual person is easier to fit into the art style.

Bunnies and Mr. Puddles. FNAF-style is already in the game.

  • When playable, I'll give him a B-, he's got some neat tricks

  • The matchmaking might be nice, but Pinhead is unplayable.

  • Pinhead so strong he kills the servers. Adding free perks to the ridiculously long grind won't help.

happens to me in almost every match against the cenobite.

4 gens done, at least 1 dead and 1 hooked.

Can‘t finish repairing the last gen, bar is full but it doesn’t pop! chain hunt starts but spawns no chains and then it says „disconnected from host“. it always looks like a killer DC which is very unlikely in every match!

It's not Cenobite DCing, it's BHVR

  • @tester , @gatsby is just happy that you won't de-pip to rank 2. Once you're Iridescent Grade, you're Iridescent Grade, the pressure of maintaining rank 1 (if you're into that) is off. I like it, too.

  • They have GOT to slow down and revise their arbitrary 3-month schedule for chapters, they keep biting off more than they can chew. They clearly can't handle this pace and that's before getting into the ever-growing grind. Constantly throwing in more perks like that just makes it all that more difficult for new players/accounts to level up the characters. I switched to PC a half year ago and I'm nowhere near "finishing" the grind.

If they insist on this ridiculous 3-mo schedule, then they can either amp up the blood points or rework the perks into two tiers instead of three. Add on unplayable new chapters and it makes for an angry audience.

  • The number of server disconnects is bonkers right now. No surprise, every new chapter has something janky. They have got to slow down on the chapter releases, they clearly can't keep up with an arbitrary 3-month schedule.

  • Another perk to work around, can only do your best to not kill a survivor on one. Sometimes, you just won't have any other choice. One also doesn't get full value of all perks every time.

  • Honestly, they need to slow down their chapter releases to put more focus on updates. It's long been evident they can't handle a 3-mo schedule. On top of that, the grind is ridiculous and ever-increasing; one of their updates could rework the perks to make them two tiers rather than three.

  • I honestly would not put it past BHVR to make a boon part of base kit to, say, increase the speed all actions by 4% rather than have them a full on perk.

I really don't like the idea of giving killers a survivor objective, they're on a serious time crunch as it is, but let's see what they do.

  • @Seraphor said:

Ultimately they fix what they can and release what they have. They're not going to delay a chapter just because they found a few bugs at the last minute they didn't have time to fix. There's money to be made on the new DLC.

They really ought to slow down and try three chapters a year instead of four, it's long been evident they bite off more than they can chew. Rushing does not make for quality products.

  • With completely different mechanics

Survivors don´t do totems, because there is no incentive to do them. At least for most of them.

Old Undying gave survivors an incentive to do all totems. But they didn´t like that. So it was nerfed and along with it the gen slowdown went over board. Since then, killers have been struggling with gen speeds. Surprisingly the devs seem to ignore this issue. Probably because there are still enough killers playing, to entertain survivors.

After not doing totems, survivors will then complain about NOED. It's bonkers.

  • Happened to me in the top floor middle room of The Game. I had a screenshot of it, but seem to have lost it.

  • "Breaking totems is a waste of time"

So, you agree, then. You agree you just want to smash gens and bounce ASAP.

  • Goddamn it, another one of these? Do bones; crisis averted.

NOED doesn't reward bad killers, NOED punishes negligent survivors. It's a hex like any other, just ######### clean it. Hexes are perks that killers have no control over; NOED is no different. Shut up already and cleanse the totems.

Hi, I'm Wilson, and I break bones. I did my part. Did you?

  • Without having read any of the comments whatsoever, I'm inclined to say this:

Everyone will show up at a hook just before another state is met. Why would the killer not be there to ensure it happens?

More importantly, why did you wait until the last second, when you know the killer is going to be there, to unhook? If a killer is circling hooks, I guarantee they'll be thrown off when you unhook mid-state and not just before they're going to hit next stage.

    That's on y'all, survivors, that's on y'all.

  • Do not go into a match with the intention of de-pipping.

You got Rank 1. Gratz! You won! Now it's time to just have fun and I promise the de-pips will follow.

I know this isn't true. I really do. I try to give the benefit of the doubt, to be optimistic and understanding, but... ugh.

Do you know how long it's been? Today is 7/14/21 (or 14/7/21 for those that use DD/MM/YY format), so it has been 29 days. That's basically a month. A month of the game being flat-out unplayable on most consoles.

"But just get a ps5!" I'm sorry, but logistics aside, if I spent money on a game, I expect it to work. I don't know why there are people that genuinely think and say this.

And the issues aren't minor. They're game-breakingly bad. Yeah, sometimes you can get through a match without it being as bad ("as bad" being the keywords) but the very fact that it can get so severe and that it's been going on for so long is disgusting. 29 days, and we're supposed to wait until mid-chapter which would be day 42.

But the real salt in the wound? This happened during the anniversary event. It's bad enough it happened during a hyped chapter with a prolific license bringing tons of new people with a very sour first impression of the game, having a (terrible) new map that was disabled immediately, and then there was the whole cosmetic debacle.

No, it happened during an anniversary event. The time we're all supposed to be celebrating 5 years of this game, collecting crowns, and having relief from the game's massive grind—a massive chunk of the playerbase can't even play. Oh, they can suffer through game-breaking stutters with the potential crashing, but they shouldn't have to endure that.

Oh, but they extended the event, right? To the 22... when the fixes come the 27th. I know it was well-intentioned, but man, does feel like an insult. They also threw in 300k BP and 3k shards, which again, is very nice, but it feels like too little too late when console players essentially couldn't take part in an event due to no fault of their own.

Not that it's great for PC/Next Gen players either. Performance issues aside, things are so bad that the DC penalties are off, so people resort to acting like children and DC whenever the slightest thing doesn't go their way.

I know that they're trying. The fact they're even keeping the DC Penalties off because of all the crashes shows they care, but god, is it infuriating to always be on the short end of the stick with every patch. Every patch just breaks the game. There was the Clown rework with the desync issues, whatever happened with the pallets not long ago, and whatever the mess that was the Twins chapter that the game still hasn't fully recovered from. It's all so infuriating and makes the game become less and less enjoyable—not because of me becoming bored but because the game seldom works as it should.

It should be DDMMYY or YYMMDD. Why do people insist on going middlest-smallest-biggest?

They care like Amazon cares for their workers, like the Mafia cares for their marks, like governments for their citizens. Like farmers for their crops.

I wish BHVR would care for the players like farmers care for crops

  • It's a scoring system that sets a goal of what you want to be under based on the difficulty of the challenge and course. Par, therefore, means what is to be expected. It does not necessarily equate "good."

That's part and parcel of phrases.

That is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard. A "good" timing is to have 40% of the survivor objective done in the time it takes the Killer to get roughly 105?

@PalletsAndHooks didn't say anything about it being "good," only that it's par for the course.

    1) No, if HG gets found first and cleansed, only Ruin's totem remains. If one of the HG totems goes down, the other becomes dull. Yes, HG gets you more value if -it- gets found first, but if it doesn't, Ruin is gone and HG is only going to give value if the survivors chance it. And even if they do, that's not HG protecting your totems, that's just getting value out of it. Whether Undying does a good enough job is a moving of the goalposts. Yes, there will be cases where survivors find both really quickly. But there's also going to be scenarios where survivors find one or neither.

    2) The most common gamestate is one where one survivor is on the hook, one is coming to rescue, one is being chased, and one is on gen. This doesn't leave anyone to cover the gen of the person being chased. Yes, Swiffers can communicate where their lost gen is, but even then, the only one at liberty to stop its regression will likely be the person currently doing a gen. And if they lets go of the gen they're doing, they're gonna lose -their- progress. This is why Ruin is so devastating if it's still up by the time the first person's on the hook. And you may think Ruin isn't strong enough as a perk to be a hex, but even with that drawback, Ruin is still one of the most-picked perks. So unless you have an alternative explanation for its popularity, I'm going to assume that the vast majority of killers disagree with you.

    3) They thought -wrongly- that killers earn more bloodpoints? What? Unless you get absolutely stomped, you'll -always- get over 15K points and often go up to 32K if you win. Survivors tend to hit 25K for a -really- good match.

Also, survivors not having other gameplay elements, what? Have you ever tried playing a match by just walking up to gens and holding M1 without -any- reaction to -any- other game elements? You think the average survivor just holds M1 on the gen when the killer comes in to grab them? You think you can win by just leaving someone hanging when the killer isn't camping?

Survivor gameplay is broad and varied, killer gameplay is narrow and monotone. THAT is the problem.

Well, that, and the fact that killers are forced to play alone. We need a 2 player killer, á la HotS' Cho'Gall.

    4) You utter hypocrite. You had no problem complaining about survivor mains and labelling them entitled, but as soon as I show you the other side of the coin you think you can take the moral high ground by proclaiming you won't pass judgement on other forumgoers? Grow a spine.

    5) The point is that you don't need to miss those times where the killer could play without tunnelling or camping. They never went away.

    6) -

    7) A good survivor will DH into the killer to bodyblock... What? DH disables your collision, you're gonna phase through the killer! Yes, BT is still being used offensively and I want that gone as much as the next person. Ideally, BT should just remove unit collision for the duration of the endurance effect. But you also have to remember that in your impassioned fervour, you are automatically assuming that survivors are bringing BT, DS and DH. That's three of four perk slots gone. And two of those perks practically never fire against me.

Those perk slots could've gone to Botany Knowledge, Prove Thyself, Desperate Measures, We'll Make It, Quick & Quiet, For The People, Inner Strength... Any number of perks that can offer serious benefits.

The fact that you confidently assume that BT and DS are part of the standard loadout of survivors illustrates how much of a problem camping is. Players are willing to gimp their customisability, their enjoyment of the game and their chances of winning to have a shot at dodging these tactics.

Another obligatory objective wouldn´t kill the game. It wouldn´t suddenly turn all killers into campers and it certainly wouldn´t ruin the survivors fun.

Nothing we know suggests this to be true.

So you extend the games. You up the kill rates from around 70% to an even higher number. It won't fix the problem. Killers still have very little gameplay to them. Killers will still get frustrated. 3Ks aren't enough. Sometimes 4Ks aren't even enough.

Killer just isn't fun to play.

    Focus on that, instead.

    A 2-player killer á la HotS' Cho'Gall. Now that's intriguing.

  • 1) Whispers

    2) BBQ (sweet, sweet bloodpoints)

3-7) Whatever fancies me at the time

  • That's a port-a-john a survivor was using and the others tipped it over
