I'm still trying to find Blendette. Claudette is out and about, but where's Blendy?

Ace players are the most chaotic beings in existence.
They'll either bust out 6 gens, rescue 5 Survivors, open three exit gates, while looping you into retirement, or die instantly at the start of the game.
Without a doubt the wildest of cards

I tend to hover between ranks 4-6 and I feel what holds me back is my inability to run a killer for any more than 30 seconds at most. I have watched one friend who is really good at, and have only gone from not being able to loop, to be able to loop once or twice for those 30ish seconds. Also, were you just immediately a godly looper, or did it take you time, and if so how long? My best loops are usually the Demogorgons! Note: I refuse to use dead hard after listening to everyone complain about how broken the perk is. All feedback is appreciated.
So, you've "only" gone from not being able to loop, to being able to loop once or twice? That's progress, my friend.
First tip is to know where you're going and to not run around like a chicken with its head cut off. Keep in mind where the vaults are and which pallets have or have not been used. Unsafe pallets, just drop and run, don't loop unsafe loops, they're unsafe.

Sure, I really don't mind it; it does add to the intensity.

That's Buddy Wraith letting survivors carry on with Generator Simulator

BHVR really needs to slow down on chapter releases; four chapters a year is unsustainable and, my god, the grind is bad now and just keeps getting worse.

Yes, but that is not what the 'do bones' meme means.
I don't even know what meme you're talking about, nor will I keep arguing about NOED on a post about gens. Break bones. That's the end of that.

It isn't the counter. And it's very easily illustrated with the following:
If ANY totem is left standing when the fifth gen pops, NOED activates without any deduction to its power. Therefor, at absolute best, 80% of totem cleanses do not do anything to deter NOED.
That is of course a very crass way of looking at it, but it's no less crass than 'do bones'.
@GoodBoyKaru actually commented on how 'doing bones' against NOED usually fares in this thread here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2457495
He describes another common issue, which is finding the four totems that are easy to find and thereby forcing NOED to sink into the one totem that ISN'T easy to find. Which makes 'doing bones' not just ineffective, it makes it downright invert on itself and empower NOED instead.
He also points out that without comms, survivors struggle to find all five totems as a team and risk spending too much time on it, as some survivors might still be looking for a totem that has already been cleansed in an area that has already been swept. While this, in and of itself, isn't an argument against 'do bones', there's one little condition under which it -does- become an argument against 'doing bones'.
Imagine wasting all that time to get totem 5, and then the killer -doesn't have NOED-.
Because then NOED is the strongest slowdown perk in the game by far, and without even being equipped.
Trust me, I tried 'doing bones'. And in all the times I did, I managed to kill a NOED once. But I have killed NOED three times by NOT cleansing totems, and instead just memorising their spots and revisiting them later. Sometimes by accident, but one very memorable instance was where I was working on gen 5, saw the dull totem and considered for a second whether I should cleanse it in case of NOED. I actively made the decision NOT to cleanse it just in case it lured in NOED, and it lit up as soon as my gen was done.
You do FAR better against NOED by not cleansing totems.
Thank you for listening to my TED talk.
The counter to NOED, like every hex (aside from Haunted, of course) is to break it. Full stop.

Hag is the camper queen. She truly camps more than Bubba. She's forever camping. She doesn't have a permanent address, she's always at a campground. She's received awards for the camps she's created. No one knows camping better than Hag.
-
That seems excessive. How about first the large maps are further, slightly reduced and not let RNG allow tiles that line up three windows in a row, thereby creating infinites? There's that window in Mother's Dwelling that has no balancing reason to be there, as well as that window in Mikey's house. Hex spawns not out in the wide open for the ISS to see. Slightly reduce the speed bonus two survivors have on a gen (nearly halving it is almost insane, especially when the addition of a third and fourth survivor doesn't help all that much).
There's ways to help this issue without adding a whole extra generator.

Devs are stale so we'd never see anything like this, or 2-killer mode, or a single player campaign with AI, all we will ever get is rifts that encourage toxic farming like Self Deprecating Joke.
There's no creative juices left. We aren't getting new zones or even new maps with existing zones. Scourge hooks might be kinda fun, but they're only complex amalgamations of existing mechanics.
No new objectives, only new censorship in game lobby chat.

All right then.
1) Haunted Grounds does nothing to protect your other hex. Have you even looked into how Haunted and Undying work? Because this is an absolutely baffling take. Haunted Grounds isn't a protection for Ruin, it just gives you an opportunity to punish survivors for going after your Ruin. It doesn't protect it. If they find Ruin and cleanse it, HG isn't going to magically make it retain function. Undying does.
2) Have you ever tried to win a match without cleansing Ruin? Any time the killer approaches you, all the work you did on the gen is likely to be undone. This extends the match tremendously, and since no chase can last forever, you are on limited time, so losing the time you worked on the gen hurts your chances at winning. Since old Undying could require you to cleanse all five totems before you can actually work on gens without risking losing all the progress to the killer dropping by, it became an extremely oppressive combo that made it incredibly hard for survivors to do -anything-. Yes, campers didn't benefit from this. But survival rates still crumbled.
3) The killer didn't ruin the game, the game itself did. Like it or not, survivors need a chance to win if you want them to keep playing.
4) Survivors know perfectly what they want. A balanced game, -without- camping. Killers don't know what they want. They don't want to lose camping because 'just genrush', but the also don't want people to genrush and they want survivors to do all kinds of other things. And what makes you think survivors don't want to do totems? Is it the old NOED 'do bones' meme? Because you're a clown if you still buy into that drivel. I'm perfectly happy to do bones, the problem is that that doesn't counter NOED.
Seriously dude, camping is the lodestone of DBD's biggest issues. Take that out and you can clean everything up. But for some reason, if you suggest camping be removed, people drudge up a 5 year old experiment and claim that that's evidence that there's not a single possible format under which this could work.
The counter to NOED is breaking bones, but " the problem is that that doesn't counter NOED"? Ok, bud.

As a killer main i've been trying to enjoy this game and not letting other people ruin it for me, but after tonight i just cannot tolerate the toxicity anymore.
I went against a swf with 2 live twitch streamers and they were all disrespectful as any player could be. That's whatever, but in endgame chat they were just spamming hurtful comments and that really triggered me today. I reacted back in a bad way, and im probably going to get banned for what i said anyways because im outnumbered. I just cannot believe live twitch streamers were doing this and people were watching them. It just feels humiliating.
This stuff just makes me so depressed. I bought this game as an escape but all it has done is just make me look at humanity from an even worse point of view. I play killer instead but when people in this game constantly tell you that you are an unlovable horrible person for just trying to have fun and enjoy the experience, it will affect my self-esteem eventually, you can't just shrug these things off forever. I wish people would get that, it's not as simple as just ignore them or close endgame chat. When players act like that you want to know what they are actually trying to say...
And it makes me sad that Behaviour seriously does not care, about toxic people and hackers that ruin the experience. I've asked so many players why they don't report and it's because they say they do make reports and nothing happens, they see the same players again months or years down the line.
I really wish i could enjoy this game, especially considering how much money i've spent on it, and seeing what a dedicated community it has, but i just can't handle playing with this player base anymore.
I'm not really sure why im making this discussion. But i guess i just wanted to know if other people feel the same way. And what insight they may have.
I feel you. Break time or quit time, I wholly understand. You've seen the good and bad of this community, unfortunately, the bad is outweighing the good for you. Maybe you'll come back and maybe you won't, either case, to hell with those jabronis.

I think people get a little turned around with noed. Here's the thing, a lot of perks capitalize on the opposing side doing or not doing something. Noed is no exception.
Let's look at Unbreakable. A very strong second chance perk. The survivor does nothing to 'earn it'. They simple get downed which is a part of the game. Now that they are down they are depending on the killer NOT picking them up. If the killer leaves them slugged and they pop back up then too bad for killer. They just lost all their momentum for making a bad call.
Noed is very much the same. It activation relies on the survivors NOT cleansing all 5 totems. It has nothing to do with the killer earning it. What makes it even more silly is survivors can delete Noed and also have an ton of tools at their disposal to do so.
On the topic of Noed being so powerful that it should be earned: sure, if noed activated at the start of the trial...but it doesn't! The killer goes all game with 3 perks knowing that their end game ace in the hole can be wiped well before it comes into play. That is the beauty of noed. Its very high risk, and very high reward when you need it most. That is why it so powerful and I think people forget that.
The only reason Noed is in the community's cross hairs constantly is because entitled players feel like their win was 'stolen' from them. If you didn't do bones, and 4 people die from noed at the end, that is very bad plays and decision making on the survivor end... and that is hard pill for most people to swallow. Much easier to cry for a nerf.
Precisely; NOED doesn't reward bad killers, it punishes negligent survivors.

The problem is he has massive sway with the devs. They were even watching his stream during the ptb.
Name a single survivor meta perk that is "earned" NOTHING a survivor does is "earned". But killers must go through multiple hoops to get a perk to proc once with a 20 minute cooldown after.
Do bones of GTFO when the gens are done. Survivors hate it so much because they want to make a "sick" hook rush bt body block play out the exit for the youtube montage.
I guarantee if NOED became meta then survivors would equip one of the multiple totem perks or a map and it wouldn't be an issue. Even as it is it isn't a problem for SWF. How many times did they cleanse all 5 totems during their hardcore survivor challenge?
Mettle of Man, Inner Strength, We'll Make It, Flash Bang, Blast Mine, stacks of WGLF, Deliverance, Diversion, Head On, Red Herring, Repressed Alliance, Rookie Spirit, Smash Hit, Stake Out, could be an argument for Resilience... there's some survivor perks that must be earned.
-
No, I don't roleplay the characters
-
That's a whole lot of Wraith, I haven't realized he's been so popular since his tweak. Fascinating.
Are you up for doing this on killer side and record how many of each survivor you see? I did a 50-match one some time ago and Claudette came up 33 of those 50 games.

Survivors killing themselves on hook for their own bosted plays is always a sight to see.
Worse thing is Survivors trying to Kobe when you're trying to save them though, do that with me and I'll let you hit struggle. Don't go neglecting my points
I honestly don't care if someone Kobes in front of me, I'm still there for the heal. I feel for the WGLF folks missing a stack, though.
Still, I'm not going to let someone go to second stage just because they try to Kobe, that's just as petty as the people the OP is talking about.

Think of it like this; no headphones is like not having surround sound in a movie theatre.
You can get away with it on survivor, but they're pretty much crucial for killer. It was a literal gamechanger when I put on headphones for DBD.

@Kate_Main_01 said:
As others have said the answer lies in a few different things! The first being to use slowdown perks. The second being to not stay in a chase for so long unless you're certain you're going to get a hit/down in. Gen speeds are slower than they used to be. Tool boxes have been nerfed into oblivion - a purple tier toolbox with top grade add-ons doesn't even last for a single gen. Prove Thyself has been nerfed. Great skill checks have been nerfed into insignificance.
That's not to say that these changes didn't need to happen (god, old toolboxes were so broken). But the point is that the devs have already nerfed gen progress as far as they feasibly can and have given Killers a variety of perks that they can run. Grind for the perks that fit your playstyle and apply them to your favorite Killer(s) and you'll do just fine. 😊
Prove Tyself was buffed, it used to be 10%

Problem is big maps plus no other objectives. No Devs, dull totems are NOT an objective, do not sit here and lie to me that these matter besides NOED out of like 1 every 10 ish games.
When more gens get done, let’s say 3, make a Entity Key spawn that is needed to unlock the remaining generators. 2 keys spawn on the map in 6 set locations, and when a key is used a new one spawns after 20 seconds. A Survivor who doesn’t use they key after 1 minute loses the key and a new one respawns.
There was a thought, once upon a time, that survivors must do a one-time-find for a toolkit or engine part or what-have-you before even being able to start repairs. Plentiful and strewn about the map so it's nothing crazy, but that was an idea for an additional objective with slight, natural slowdown.
-
True, true, the numbers are rough, but you're getting the idea. Two survivors on a gen is bonkers fast, especially when the following two bonuses toward the overall speed of repair are all but useless.
-
@lemonsway said:
Gens aren't the issue, everything else is, chasing takes too long because Maps are big and safe AF. The whole gameplay loop for killer is very time consuming vs the efficiency of survivors. Make the game more bearable for killers by giving us smaller maps and redistributing safety for survivors instead of big maps with dead zones and extremely safe zones. END SHIFT W META make survivors actually know how to loop, TEACH LOOPING IN THE TUTORIAL.
It gets rather irritating, holding W. Content creators have have tested the time it takes from a hit to catching up for a down (only holding W) and, if I recall, it's somewhere in the 20s of seconds. That's a quarter gen right there and if three are on separate gens, that's effectively 3/4 of a gen completed in just that one chase.
-
I'm so sick of survivors complaining about NOED. I'm sick of killer perks being at the full mercy of survivors in the form of hexes.

@ukenicky said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/274307/gen-speeds
What's stopping killers from still camping and tunneling if gen speeds get slowed?
Back with old undying + ruin many killers were still ruthless in their camping and tunneling and did not care at all about whether survivors had a fair chance or not, even with quite possibly the most universally oppressive perk combo (Usually with Tinkerer as well) to help "slow down the game to a reasonable pace".
I'm sorry but if gens were significantly slowed down or an extra mandatory objective was added it would make face camping first survivor on hook til death more effective. People who want to camp and tunnel just to ruin one or two players fun would take that and run with it. Not everyone will play nice.
"Not everyone will play nice" is no reason to not make changes
-
Sure, the survivors can group up and bang out a gen, but they'd be grouped up. Risk/reward.

The best suggestion I can give you, is to not focus on pips and ranks. I understand that for many players, hitting rank 1 for the first time is something that brings a great sense of accomplishment, but treating DbD as a competitive game is a major mistake, because it simply isn't. It's random, it's silly, it's often poorly balanced and again, it's extremely random at its core.
Take a step back and enjoy the chaos, or find something else to define your own value than pips, it really is the only way. Matter of fact, many players cheer when they depip, because it means they're just slightly less likely to face a Spirit that figured out how to use headphones, or a full gaming chaired 4 stack.
Without a doubt, I've put myself in a role to just help other survivors. If I'm SWFing and they have challenges to do, I'll put myself in the way for them (need heals? I'll go get hit. Need totems? I'll lead you to some I found. Need to burn medkits? Use mine. So on and so on). Last second death to rescue someone so they escape? Definite win for me.
I just don't pip anymore, is all. Oh well. Never honestly mattered, anyway, and I've been rank 1 before a long time ago.
-
On top of that, let's introduce up to 24 new survivor perks within a year where the META will be to hold W.
The best way to loop a loop is to run away from it.
-
Pop-up messages would be useful. "Repairing generator" and "Going for Rescue," etc. It'd keep the inevitable, foul language bullying to a minimum.

Alright, so, the extra box also then reduces the chance of getting the trap off. Good to know and thanks!
