But why not let others have it also?
Because its probably for a new Tome reward or something like that. Now they do give out items sometimes but if its given in error then they will take it back

Hello.
I joined the game from the free Epic Games offering a couple days ago. I played through the tutorials and started playing in normal matches. Recently, whenever I try to play the game, I get "Looking for match...." for about 10 minutes before giving up and exiting.
I see your messages about ddos attacks and maybe this is related to that. Instead of being frustrated by not being able to log in, I'll just try back in a few days and see if the issue is resolved.
Yea that normal for right now. Just keep it going and you'll get a match and if you face me well.......I promise I won't be too rough on you......
-
Because if we actually knew or scores and the scores of our opponents alot more of use will probably leave the game seeing that they are MMR of 2000 vs and pared with a Team of 9000+. MMR is broken atm die to the fact there are less Killers playing now, so the game is ATTEMPTING to match Killers with the appropriate survivors but if there are no survivors in their bracket then the game will pair them with the High MMR where they will get stomped or with a low MMR team that gets decimated. We see that now and I see it now where I can go 10 straight games of facing High MMR teams and loose each game but still face those teams.
Has the "SBMM" ( and I use that term very loosely because it doesn't screen based on skill at all) gotten better.....yes I have had more balanced games but not enough to have faith in it.
Each of your Survivors and Killers should have their own MMR score, not piggy back off a average of you having played them before or for a while.

*GASP* T.......the cuteness its......too.....POWERFUL! I.......I can't resist it.......DAWWWWWW now arnt they just the cutest little Trash Pirates that I have ever dun seen.

Yeah that's annoying about it. Boon is 24m iirc and I can only hear it from 10m? Can be really annoying in certain maps.
I think Boon auras should be 15m and you can start hearing it at 15m.....

ILL TALK TRASH IF I WANT TO.....WATCH!
ahhhhhhhhem............
........I had to kick a dang Racoon out of my trash last night after it got in a fight with another Racoon......dam Trash Pandas and their cute little masked faces.

Yea.....but the area it affects is much larger......1 Boon placed inside the main building of Mt Ormand will cover roughly 95% of it.

And then a slap for motivation.
Yeah I need that slap

People take this game way too seriously. Instead of getting triggered, laugh it off and be entertained. If a game is stressful for you, that's the first sign the game isn't for you. I've been playing this game as a solo killer and survivor non-stop for the past 4 months and have not once felt stressed out. Quite the opposite, it's so fun I can't stop playing. Battle Royale games stress me out and I refuse to play them. No point in wasting time complaining about something I don't have fun playing.
EXACTLY! I have started just playing to have fun and be silly. I slug a player I'll step back and nod to the survivors waiting for the rescue to go ahead and pick them up and fully heal them. I make chases fun for both sides and be silly......
Like one game on Blackwater Swamp I got chased by a Meg and Malika as a Demo and I tried to run out the exit gate trying to get away from them. That resulted in the Meg dropping a Purple Medkit and the Malika offering herself as a Kill for me with them saying how much fun they had.

I'm just doing Yoga and the Killer is getting pointers from my expertise so dont mind us.

I do it to mess with the other Survivors especially if it's a Mikey. If no Mikey then leave me alone I'm doing my Yoga and the Killer is helping me.

Are we not allowed to play with friends? Do I really deserve to get banned because I like to play survivor with people I usually hang out with? It makes no sense and it’s nauseating to hear.
I have over 1300 hours in this game and have never complained about SWFs in my killer games. If I lose, I either get annoyed by the map, bugs, or I just come to realization that I didn’t play well enough. It’s not survivors’ faults for wanting to play with their friends.
Sorry for the rant, but as someone who probably has more bias towards killer than survivor, I really get annoyed hearing that SWF is off limits.
The issue is your missing the main point of all the complaints. It's not playing with your friends it's not wanting to punish anyone like that. It's the fact that SWFs use Discord to have constant surveillance on the Killer at all times and can plan accordingly.
Killers want something done about that and not SWFs in general.

Honestly I’d rather not have voice chat with randoms. My friend is a streamer and if we get a troll that says slurs then he’ll probably get banned lol.
Then you mute them like other games have on their in game chat. I had a player in B4B that thought it was funny using racial slurs on everyone who played the characters.....we just muted him and it was all good.

Naturally. You only agree if it's a killer buff or survivor nerf.
Well the thing is the Devs probably didnt take into account maps like the Swamp. I understand buildings and indoors with different floors but the crows should follow the ground. Not like go up into the ship like that just follow the "ground" level because OP is right that on maps like the swamp her powers are weakened considerably.

Is there a risk for Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Iron Will, Borrowed Time, Spine Chill, Prove Thyself or Resilience?
No I have no issues with the Metas because all those if you expect them then they won't have much of a impact on the game because they still have to be used in specific situations.
Boons are on a whole other level.......
•Boons can never be permanently removed by the Killer unless they kill the Survivor that has it.
•They can overpower Hexs even though multiple people argue Boons are weaker than Hexs. (That's some great Survivor logic right there)
•Its NEVER in the best interest of the Killer to actively look for Boons due to the current state of Gen Rushing.
•Boons can stack all their effects onto a single Totem, and with what we have seen so far for Boons, they will keep adding stronger effects that will make the game so Survivor sided that Killers can never win.
•Most Survivors place their Boons in No Mans Land where there is no Gens to patrol. If a Killer would venture there to find the Boon however they are guaranteed to lose at least 1 Gen if not the game.
•Boons becaome COMPLETELY broken on indoor maps with multiple floors, a Killer can't tell if the Boon is on the floor they are on or the one above or below them.
•The range of Boon totems is still too large to be able to handle it, for example on Ormond if the Boon is placed on the second floor of the main building the area of effect covers the entire building and small sections outside of it.
So allowing those negative effects wouldn't be so bad if the Devs allowed Survivors to keep the rest of their many issues.

That wouldn’t balance Boons. It would make them unplayable.
No Survivor would run them. They’d just go back to the gold standard meta builds that have been viable since 2017
So then by your logic Hexs are unplayable now because of Boons able to snuff them out and overpower them. So again by your logic Killers should be allowed to relight their Hexs once snuffed by a Boon so they are not unplayable anymore.
Killers breaking totems isnt anyworse than survivors breaking totems. Besides if they dont allow Killers to break Totems then The Artist's Hex will be completely a waste since now with Boons no one ever breaks Totems anymore, hence why so many Nerf NOED posts pop up.
-
Another thing is there is absolutely no Risk or Reward for survivors, just reward.
Here's a idea.....there are negative benefits for the ones to use it......
CoH - The Survivor can no longer heal themselves or others while the Boon is active.
Shadow Step - The Survivor is x% louder doing all tasks and while injured.
Unbreakable Boon - Not sure
-
To balance Boons is easy......LET KILLERS BREAK TOTEMS.....that one little change will bring us closer to a balanced Boon.

I'm all for kindred basekit (along with a bunch of other stuff for both sides) but I don't like the idea of increasing repair speed with it since this can be taken advantage of by survivors by looping the killer near a hook or while the killer leaves the hook after hooking somebody, even if they have no intention to camp.
Right I was looped last week around a survivor on a Hook from 1st hook to death by his teammate and I was accused of Camping the hook.

Flashlights already have limited utility, charges, and are hard countered by Lightborn. These interactions are fine.
Yes such limited utility that Clicky Click brigades can abuse the heck out of them, they can blind killers through a boarded up window in the killer shack, they can blind when the survivor is standing at a 90° angle of the killer and behind a LoS blocker. So yes very limited utility.

Out of curiosity, if feedback is being listened to, passed on and acted on, what is being done about the hacker problem on DBD and what is being done about console optimization? There is a new cheat program running around that has not been dealt with, and the problems regarding console have not been truly addressed for years, despite many, many complaints and popular topics from users like @Pulsar .
Cheating doesn't exist dont you know that's all a normal game mechanic like with glitched map areas where a Survivors can get and become unhittable or can't be picked up but wait because technically a Killer can get up there then it's not a issue no matter how hard it is to get up there.

Agreed. Nuke the Boons! Don't let the game turn into cartoon or The Benny Hill Show.
Now when I said they need a nuking I ment that they needed a core rework because I like the idea of Boons but they in my opinion were no thought out.
• We have Unsnuffable or hard to Snuff Boon locations on almost every map.
• Boons are harder to find than people say and if it's a indoor map with multiple floors trying to find it is worse.
• As above multiple floors also bring the issue that Boons can affect different floors making it rather broken.
• Boons are like original Undying but much worse as Killers can't permanently get rid of them unless you kill the Survivor/s with them.
• Killers dont have time to waste searching for them with the current state of Gen Speed, Map Size, and General Regress. So this results Survivors putting Booms up in No Mans Land with no Gens.
• The affected area size is still rather large because a prime example of this is on Ormand if a Survivor places a Boon on the totems upstairs it affects the entire building and part of the outside depending where it was placed.

11 or 12? Where are you getting that number from...?
Anyway, as I said, Shadow Step is annoying but nowhere near brokenly strong, and Exponential is so situational that I'd honestly be surprised if I ever see it activate in a game. They aren't that strong and are far more balanced, though the mechanic itself could still do with a little work- there are too many totem spots that the killer has to invest too much time to snuff, for instance.
When they first were introduced and talked about they said the number of boons that were planned to come out I just can't think for the life of me the number that was said.
That was one of the issues people had when they were introducing Makela and the new Boon System.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2672688#Comment_2672688
Didn't they say that specifically in regards to making them one-use? I'm pretty sure they're still open to putting some limitations on boon totems, they just (correctly) don't want to make them into survivor hexes when their design is so much more interesting than that.
Though, while it was poor phrasing and they should've said it differently, it's worth mentioning that what you're talking about isn't the result of boon totems- it's the result of Circle of Healing specifically. The others are fine- Shadow Step is annoying but pretty easily played around, and Exponential is honestly kind of trash.
It's important to remember that CoH can be changed without nuking the core mechanic of boon totems.
No Boons need a nuking.....dont forget there are still around 11 or 12 more Boons set to come out.....and currently we have Superfast Heals with a free Self Mend, a full Scratch and Aura blocker, and now a forever Unbreakable. All of which can be stacked on top of each other on one single totem and can never get rid of it. I'm afraid of what else they will bring out......sadly I can see them making a DS Boon.....a faster wiggle free boon.....something to block the exhausted status......there is only so much you can use on them.....and so far they are using normal perks and adding other effects to it....

I will explain as it seems you cannot put some links between events.
SBMM released -> many complaints -> huge playerbase drop after 2 weeks
Boon totems -> many complaints -> playerbase decreased even more
Before that i always faced good killers, not all the time but most of the time. Now i only face killers that do 1k most of the time.
SBMM release date : 8th September. Peak players was 71k. One month later, peak players was 55k.
Boon totems release date : 19th October. Peak players was 70k again as the update brought many curious players. 1 month later, peak = 50k. And last week it's the first time for years now that we barely reached 48k during the evening...
Before the boon totems release, survivor queue were fast, now they are pretty long. If you don't see the links between those events, i cannot help you, it's pretty obvious of what is happening right now.
When many streamers are making videos to explain how disgusted they are about the SBMM and the boons, it's concerning. You don't see it ? Fine for you. What can i say ? urn on your computer's screen and go check some info on youtube, reddit, twitter etc...
Unfortunately you now have survivors saying "What do you mean my Que times are still instant" when ever I see that I know that there is some kind of falsehood going on. O matter what time I play Que times have been around 8-12 mins while killer is instant.
Now with the lower amount of killers the SBMM is broken because now it's trying to pair Survivors with the closest Killer even though the Survivors could be MMR of 8000 while the killer is only like 1000. I lost 20 games in a row before with no kills and only a handful of hooks and still got way more "skilled" survivors.

The entire map of Pale Rose is basically a gen lock, most gens out in the open with no nearby defenses for survivors.
The Pale Rose Gen is so high up the Killer can't get to the Survivors before they run away
The Small boat gen has 4 ways to escape
Dock Gens have good LoS to allow Survivors to see the Killer and escape faster.
The other Gens have enough LoS blockers that people can easily hide.
Blackwater's tile layout is very Survivor friendly, even the open "deadzones" have some type of rubble or a decent loop.
-
@Actionjacksn said:
Can you notice this or its just me? It is quite unusual to me because if there is a new killer it is usually short que as survivor because of everyone want to try out the new killer.
Because with the new Artist wasn't enough to bring Killer Players back to playing Killer. There are far fewer Killer Players right now due to how one sided the game is right now. Some have stopped playing altogether or switched to Survivor to keep the Que times growing larger.

I just pray for rebalancing that doesn't involve slapping a few breakable walls next to god windows and calling it a day. Or god forbid, Game-edition "more pallets!" All three of those realms are on the painful side - Swamp even sucks for survivors due to the massive dead zones it likes to form in the middle.
What are you talking about Pale Rose is very Survivor Sided with all the LoS blockers and both have the underside of the Docks and the buildings that can make the life very difficult for the Killer.

I'm sorry i'm not following the BT argument. BT actually helps against tunneling. It even helps if it's not in play. Killers wait 12 seconds before hitting. In that time you can get somewhere or someone has time to bodyblock. And if you do get hit the speedburst you get from it is enough to reach a safe tile 9/10
Overcome litterally does nothing in that scenario. Every single other exhaustion perk can do something.
Maybe this is just me having a pessimistic mind. But all i can see when i look at overcome is all the situations where it doesn't do anything.
We'll see who's right but i believe Overcome will end up alongside build to last, power struggle and all the other perks these forums said were going to be op and dissapeared in a week
It's just nice to see someone with actual smart responses not just the normal cookie cutter responses. It's been awhile since I had a good conversation like that.

If you get trapped by trapper and put in the basement you also aren't overcoming over any traps.
If a billy and bubba can't connect chainsaws they are doomed to lose no matter the perks the survivors run.
Oni doesn't need to get a down for his ability so you don't need to catch the same survivor again.
That it's lame doesn't take away that tunneling of hook makes this perk useless. Not all killers are like that but survivors are not going to take that gamble. Sprint burst and dead hard work of hook. Why bet on having a nice killer or not if you don't have to.
Legions biggest problem is downing people and dead hard is a huge part of it. Legion can easilly keep up with overcome. That they are low tier doesn't change the fact that overcome is bassicly a dead perk vs them.
Forgot to mention plague too in my first post. Also completly circumvents the perk unless you give her one of the strongest ranged attacks.
The tunnel of hook is the biggest thing that will make overcome dissapear in a couple of weeks. That it's lame doesn't mean that it doesn't happen and survivors are not going to take that risk.
There are just to many situations where this perk just straight up becomes dead.
Tunneling off hook hasn't made BT dissapear and many killers have tunneled the receiver of BT and the one who used it many times, I have seen the threads about it many times.
Legion is still one of the worst killers now and it's not because of perks like DH. Even with with ability he is still a basic M1 killer that can easily be looped to death.
But that's your opinion and I have mine. We will see in time who is right and wrong.

It takes a single extra blink to catch back up
And then there is no dead hard to worry about. Tunnel that survivor of hook and there is nothing to worry about either.
If you run starstruck then you can deny it completly.
Not only is it not meta. It's straight up not good.
Very close to the worst exhaustion perk
Now that's funny it's not the worst all in all Sprint burst or Balanced landing is because those are situational based ones that could active when you dont want them too....
-
@Phasmamain said:
Why would I take overcome over a third health state or sprint burst?
Because with Sprint Burst you have to walk before you use it and its situational at best. With Overcome you can run like normal and loop like normal and have the escape plan of Overcome when you dont have a loop to deal with.

Trapper, Billy, Bubba, Myers, Ghostface and Oni by base can make the perk never activate at all.
Add addons and you can practically double that list.
Nurse, Blight, Legion, Wraith and to an extend Spirit have movement abilities by base that make short work of the distance it creates.
Every killer can ensure Overcome only activates once if they tunnel of hook
Starstruck, MyC, Noed, Devour Hope are perks that completly circumvent the perk.
You really shouldn't talk about being blind to balance if you are saying "only a handfull of killers can deal with it" and choose to ignore the immens downsides this perk has.
It's Smash Hit tier. Good for distance if it manages to work but straight up useless in some matchups
Ok let's see where shall I begin......humm ok from the top then.
Trapper will be lucky to get enough traps down with the current GenRush mindset that's out right now, but yes if you trap someone that ignores Overcome for that hit.
Yes Billy and Bubba are instant down Killers but good loopers and the oh so nice hit boxes of killers will make connecting hard for said instant downs. I rarely get hit by the chainsaws unless I make a silly or stupid mistake in my escape plan. Which then leaves them with the option of weapon hits.
Myers I'll give that to you but a good Myers player is hard to deal with anyway.
Ghostface is just sad.....very Sad.....a survivor that gets a full exposed status from him deserves to get hooked.
Oni still has to get a weapon hit before he can get his instant down and then it's back to the Billy and Bubba response.
Now Addons you won't always have and if your going for a certain build and not put said addons in then those addons are useless.
Any perk is useless of a Killer is lame enough to tunnel off hook, but not all killers are like that.
Nurse, Blight, Wraith, and Spirit is who I was talking about in the handful and why did you even bring Legion into this that poor Killer has been beat down so badly he just wishes he was a good killer. But Billy can be added here because he can quickly make up ground with his chainsaw.
Devour hope won't last long enough to be a issue like all Hexs, any survivor that sticks around the killer while Star Struck is active deserves to be downed anyway, same goes for NOED, if the survivors dont want to do bones anymore that's their problem. Haven't seen anyone run MyC for a while but again if a survivor run BT the one who is unhooked will body block like normal.
So yes when I talk about Game Balance I know what I'm talking about because I have seen the counters and know them like everyone else.
Only the handful I mentioned can actually keep up with a Overcome player.

I'm more mocking the general sense of these forums. It's rather pathetic. Any perk survivors get that might be worth running gets massive outrage on these forums. I mean... The suggestion that after 20 seconds of running you should basically just drop dead doesn't really lend these forums even the slightest bit of credibility. That's a real thing someone said on here tonight.
Don't act like the people around you haven't made these forums a joke.
Like you. Your so blind that you can't see what perks Like Overcome does to the balance, what's left of it that is, of the game. Only a very select few killers can actually catch survivors now who run Overcome. They get hit zoom away and hide in a Boon field and heal back.
And survivors wonder why their Que times are increasing........
-
Haven't played yet.....work during the week with mandatory OT on Friday leaves me with just Saturday to play......I know I'll hate.....
1) The New Map
2) Overcome
3) Boons (as usual)
4) BHVR ignoring everything that Killer players say or suggest and keep pushing out bad ideas and shove it down our throats.
