My suggestion would be to do it on killer.. You can flat out ignore the survivors and just look for the invitations.. It's boring but you don't have to do anything other than grabbing it on killer to unlock stuff
Yea I was doing that but if I don't slow them down they will just up and leave lol.

They were definitely hard to find at first, but now since I have all my masks, I usually pass them every game I play killer. I sometimes even stop and pick it up for the extra bp it gives. My best advice is to just take normal chases around the map and you'll find it eventually mid-chase. The aura reading is only within 2 meters so don't rely on seeing an aura and there isn't a sound cue to the location but just a sound cue to when it spawns/moves. I think it's harder this year because there isn't a sound cue when you're close and it kind of blends into the background on some maps.
I'm not 100% sure but I think they changed the sparkles so that only the person playing can see them. I don't think other players can see that you have sparkles around yourself. As survivor as well, you just need the exit gates to be opened to get your mask, once the exit gates have opened then you should be good.
Maybe that's why I saw someone say they been using dead dawg item as much as they can

Dang, thats mean! I usually go easy on sparkly survivors, this far into the event I don't let them go all the time, but I generally try to drag th game out and go for 8 hooks if possible; accidents happen, though.
Yea I would understand if it was a accident that he death hooked me but tunneling me because I was sparkling was annoying.

Yeah same, I've been seeing them a lot more often now that I have every mask unlocked haha
But the aura reading should have a bigger radius than what it has now
I agree with that. I only have this weekend to try and find them but I fear because everyone will already have them it will be the Winter event all over again.

I got all my masks on my second day as a killer main, but for the last 2 days I found so many invitations as a survivor ... I guess its all part of the mindset: if you REALLY want to find them, you are way too unflexible in your mind and focus on the wrong things. If you wanna do it as a survivor, just play the game normally and every now and then you should just stumble over an invitation. The conditions on survivors are a bit more strict, but not unfairly. Its just IN YOUR MIND!
I tried that and yes I found more as survivor but every time when the killer saw the sparkle they tunneled me and camped until I was dead. Also I'm not inflexible as Killer most of the time I don't bother with survivors but when I do that gens fly and they leave before I can fully search.

Don't worry there's also a bug where the invite didn't even spawn at all....

How people can still defend Nurse I don't know. She's majorly OP when played well and the devs have outright admitted that her mere existence limits what they can do when it comes to designing perks. She completely ignores looping, pallets and vaults, and the fact is the vast majority of the player base simply isn't good enough to play against her. She's insanely problematic and yet some people still say she's fine and balanced. It's crazy.
Old Spirit was nerfed and she was always worse than Nurse.
The issue is the reason the majority of players can't do good against her is because they REFUSE to learn how to deal with her. As you said she ignores most walls vaults pallets etc, so that means they have to learn new ways to deal with her.
I have a average of 50-60% escape rate against nurse and it all depends if it's a god tier or lower. The way I learned to deal with a nurse is play as her and see how her powers actually work and how they interact with the environment. Did you know most of the large trees in Mother's Dwelling she can't blink through or on multiple floor maps a misplaced blink will cause her to blink to the lower level.
I'm still learning how to deal with her but she's not this impossible killer no one can run from. It takes time and practice and a new way of dealing with her.

BT, DS, Kindred and Corrupt become basekit.
BT won't become base kit without changes....as it is now like DH survivors are using it in a way that it's not supposed to be used. A anti tunnel perk that players use to body block. If you body block for someone while under BT effect your not being tunneled so more than likely one of two changes will be made.....
Change 1: While under BT your Survivor loses all collision until it wears off. Meaning you can't be hit you cant body block etc.
Change 2: This is the more likely change I think will occur. If your under the effects of BT and body block and get that protection hit you actually lose the endurance effect and go down like normal

Floods of Rage is underwhelming for me, because you get the auras when you least need it and it's a scourge hook. From what i hear this perk is only good on Nurse and Huntress. Because you can act up on survivor auras that are moderately far away.
Call of Brine is pretty decent, i combine it with Pop Goes The Weasel. Unfortunately if the survivors keep hitting great skill checks you aren't going to get any info from the perk.
Merciless storm is fun to run on The Doctor but that's it.
IMO Onryo is not worth buying for the perks.
Yea I faced a Doc with that and that through me for a loop...he also used HL and that got annoying lmao

BBQ and chili is VERY counterable. Hide in a locker right before they get hooked, or just hide behind a generator that hasn't been completed yet. Its very easy. Killers mostly get value from the BP, UNLESS they're playing survivors who don't know how to counter it. You don't automatically know if the killer has it but its easy to find out.
Tbh I don't bother anymore lmao there usually one survivor closer than I am so the killer won't head my way....unless it's a Blight Nurse, Billy, or *shutters* a Aura Huntress....she scares me the most on the farm Maps

Yet you can watch streamers go on a 50+ winstreak with pig. Actually ANY killer going on a 50+ winstreak highlights how horrible the balance in this game is. It's hideously skewed towards the killer. Only a 4 stack SWF with all meta perks and full items AND voice comms can compete with a killer running the best characters and builds. Solo Q just lose by default to any sweaty killer with a brain.
How can I go play killer, camp/tunnel starting at 5 gens and literally not lose a single game all night and then come here to these forums where people are crying about genrushing lmao
You know Solo Q does win alot of games....I don't get the whole game is Killer Sided? Most maps are too large, too many safe tiles spawns, totem placement is a joke, even Survivor spawns are not how they are supposed to be. Until the Meta shakeup the game is more Survivor sided and still is until map layouts are fixed.

No it was more of a war of attrition tbh the Survivors we're BM sweat team that got cocky and I wanted to extend that match as long as I could....I love the reports they said they put in about me holding the game hostage was quite entertaining

Your DH change is actually a buff and misses the entire reason the perk is overpowered in the first place. The I frame has counter play, the distance does not. The problem is the distance. Keep the i frame, remove the distance. Most the time the perk extends every chase is because of the distance not the I frame and you made the distance even better…. However I love your noed idea.
Strangely in another post I was in a small argument with a guy or gal that said the IFrames is the issue that everyone is complaining about....I was like wait no it's not the main issue is the distance.....I don't know how they said they have seem multiple posts contradicting every other complaint I have seen about DH

I don't get why people are surprised that events don't go smoothly. Most "event" matches are as sweaty as regular matches.
Tbh they are much worse both sides want to be as horrible and sweaty as possible to ruin the event....I won't get any of the masks because of survivors rushing Gens to escape and the buggy Invite spawns that are going on that the Devs won't fix....Out of 100+ games I only found 1 invite and got the Trickster Mask...I don't even own thst flamboyant knife boi.

We managed to reach the final gen against a nurse and we ended up with a 3 gen scenario but before that I unhooked everyone and ran across the map like a moron healing and helping everyone and did gens so I was hooked once a dwight was hiding all game long with 0 hooks and others with 1 hook each but no one wanted to work on gens and they kept hiding for too long near 1 gen building I eventually said ######### it and worked on the gen but nurse is oppressive in a 3 gen scenario she can patrol each one with 2 blind and hit you on top of that so she chased me long enough for them to finish the gen and guess what they opened the exit doors and the 3 of them ran away no one bothered to unhook me..
Soloq sucks survivors are selfish. I healed each one of them multiple times and unhooked them but no one did anything in return It's not worth doing the last gen and risking yourself so everyone gets a free escape while they just hide waiting for a miracle to happen.
Nurse was teleporting to each gen but everyone is just hiding doing nothing I was trying to work on it every time she goes away but she found me eventually I was the scapegoat instead of the 0 hooks dwight or the other 2 survivors.
Technically all Killers except Trapper are oppressive on a 3Gen I had a stand off for 1 hr and 5 mins before the Survivors just gave up and stood by hooks and I was playing Vommy Mommy. This sounds like your team was more to blame than the Nurse just doing her objective to protect Gens. I have been "reported" by survivors saying I was holding the game hostage because I wouldn't chase them and stay by the gens.

um sorry but a trapper cant, hag cant, wraith cant, oni cant, dredge cant, artist cant, sadako cant... my point is his ability lets him go into m2 and instantly let go. so if you greed pallets you either take an m1 or a shred, or you drop it and waste the pallet. a good demogorgon is very hard to loop and almost impossibly so. making a good demogorgon only weakness generators. its unfun to go against tbh, but it seems he is stronger than most give him credit for
Oni can as well if he is in rage mode

Literally everything I've seen says loose the I frames using it for distance is just like using sprint burst might wanna go re-read the posts to make sure you read it right. My whole argument has been sprint burst is even more useful and everyone keeps saying at least sb doesn't have iframes.
You clearly don't read the forums that often because DH for distance has ALWAYS been the issue not IFrames because the IFrames is what DH was supposed to be for...to dodge a attack and that's what the IFrames did. The reason why DH was better than SB is because players could CHOOSE when to use it while SB they can use it by mistake if they run too soon.

But the distance isn't the problem its the I-frames people are mad about. No one complained 6 months ago when there was no hit validation.
No people are complaining about the distance where have you been every DH Nerf post is about the distance gained that allows survivors to get to a pallet and extend the chase. People don't have issues with the IFrames.
-
@Norhc said:
I feel the same although I'm also worried about what they are doing to survivor perks. I get it that DH is way too omnipresent but it's also the only truly fun and interesting exhaustion perk, I fear that they are going to kill its versatility. I also don't see how they could change Iron Will without completely killing it. I really hope they are not nerfing meta perks for the sake of it but sadly I think that is what is happening.
The meta needs to be shaken up TBH and DH the Devs themselves have said that survivors are using as not how it was intended to be used for so more then likely they will remove the distance and keep the IFrames and as for IW I predict that they will only reduce the suppression from 100% to 90% because frankly taking away the biggest way for Killers to track was silly and making it fully counter Stridor was stupid tbh no perk should fully counter the perk of the other be it Killer or Survivor.

Yea its super annoying I refuse to play killer since I think its boring they need to do something to make it fun for survivors.
I have fun as Killer but every event it's the same Either Survivors or Killers become super tryhard sweat teams just to ruin the fun for the other. Because most already did the slow farming to get all the masks so now they will just ruin it for anyone else...I had a survivor game I found the invite and the Killer tunneled me and camped me before the EGC happened.
I want the makes because it's a different cosmetic to use and it's a one time thing.

Then they need to fix these Bugs because I heard the teleports but then it suddenly stopped and it never spawned again.

Honestly I am stuck trying to find the invites and can't enjoy or focus on any of the challenges. Constantly what I have seen are Survivors bring in all Flans including me but they only focus on Gens and escaping asap.
I get the Devs wanted it to be a challenge to get them but really moving during the map is annoying

Name 3 VIABLE counters to nurse.
Be unpredictable don't try to dodge in Dead zones because a good nurse player can predict where to blink easier.
When in a chase always move to areas where they lose LoS because then they'll have to guess where to cut you off at, doubling back in these situations is key because if you keep her guessing then you'll have a better chance to escape. Nurses do have a harder time predicting where to blink because of the above issues.
If you are stuck in a dead zone never keep you eyes off her, you'll know when she'll blink and for how far by her actions.
Old strats that work on all the other Killers don't work on her because of the nature of her power, Nurse is also the slowest Killer as well and you have to use that to your advantage. I learn most of my survivability against her by actually playing her and learning her weaknesses first hand.
I do agree that her addons need worked on because range+speed addons make it extremely difficult to reach the Loss blockers.
SIDE NOTE: There are objects that the Nurse CANT blinks through. Play her and find out what those objects are.

You say that as if nurse doesn't defy the game's chase fundamentals.
No her powers are special and you can't do the same cookie cutter escapes like with others. She has counter plays just people don't want to learn them and instead want nerfs

this perk will never be good, because it helps survivors 99% their sprint burst. Depending on the changes to Spine Chill, it might receive a shadow buff. But as someone who either runs Sprint Burst or no exhaustion perks, Fearmonger is a joke.
They probably are changing that aspect of it because that doesn't seem like that how it should work tbh

Out of my 2 Survivor games during the event, the killer has tunneled straight off the hook each time.
Out of my 2 Killer games during the event, the survivors have memed and been chill.
Which side is supposed to be the toxic one again?
Update: Now 5 and 5. The most toxic thing a survivor did was "click" their flashlight at me. Not exactly ruining the game for me and that was one survivor. Only one killer so far has not tunneled their first hook to death (ignoring unhookers and bodyblockers taking hits).
Update 2: Added some pics to show how the majority have been going. Based on the forums this seems to be the majority of matches for people...
Sorry I....I can't pay attention those pictures are too... dazzling I can't see anything else

And so the cycle of toxicity continues once again..................................
To be honest I always wanted to be part of a slug race.....but when I'm killer during these events I let survivors know I'm here to farm and be a farm. Last blood hunt I was Vommy Mommy and a 3 man was shining thier flashlights in the sky to get my attention...once I got there one walked up to me and did it again but circled around I repeated the action with Mommy Vommy then after 8 mins of strange but fun farming we all were maxed out on points and they let me hook all three of them.
What about the fourth....well Ace didn't want to play along and got prematurely moried when they tried to body block me....

In dead dawg you need to break 2 walls to make it somewhat bearable, if you're breaking all 5 walls you're doing something wrong (especially cause you create a virtual infinite for survivors). And anyway, you should avoid main building. The map is very small and most pallets are unsafe, it's not that bad and there are easy 3 gens
Midwhich is probably the most killer sided map of the game. Fun to play? No, but not survivor friendly either
Farm maps aren't really bad either tbh, except cowshed, that is just like pre rework Ormond
I love midwhich as Killer because survivors always try to use the stairs vault only to get me waiting for them below with a good smack. The only bad thing is Hook spawns can be downright nightmarish....I had a time where the entire half of the 2nd floor had no hooks at all

See I don't need to play Trapper because I pesudo Smurf. When I play my games as Killer I play to have fun not to win. I'll play around with the Survivors like shake my head no at a pallet and when they nod and point at me I act like I'm sighing and bend my head down and walk to the pallet to get smacked or carry a survivor to the door and open it for them and let them jump off. Since I played this way stress is almost gone (few bully squads still want to bully) but I win enough to stay within that sweet spot of MMR

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328254/nurse-counterplay
Watch YouTube for more detailed ways...But read the nurse basically. You can usually tell if they're going to blink to a corner or aim for a prediction blink. Watching how long they hold their first blink is a good indicator of when to double back towards them.
But mostly just breaking LOS and force them in to as many 50/50s as humanly possible. Don't be afraid to stop at areas. Like if they're aiming to blink to a corner try crouching and POV teching them at a corner. Try breaking LOS at a rock and just stop and watch them blink by because they think you kept holding W.
Wow a actual counterplay...and people say there's no counter to her. You just have to play differently then any other Killer because of her power. I always do better when I keep my eye on her more than where I'm going.
