These forums at this point don't surprise me anymore. I doubt the OP is trolling too, he legit believes killers don't have second chance perks lol
Can we tag player accounts to forums so we can see everyones ranks on both sides. It's getting real hard to take people serious now a days.
Hey, the devs said ranks don't matter.

At first I thought u were gonna be mad at me from how the post started. Then I realized you actually knew what I was referring too. Ya this is the sad truth. I do agree Ruin needed a rework it was honestly horrible to be rank 20 and face a full build player with ruin, but this was not the time or place to do this in the current DBD. Too many issues regarding bugs, maps, loops, windows, and dedicated servers. Not for just one side, but both.
I have been saying for awhile what needs to happen is a group dedicated to fixing the maps asap. Not just every 6 months, but having them all done before the end of the year. With maps being fixed to a more balanced state. The issues that are real on both sides will be obvious because design flaws in maps kinda cover up a lot.
I agree map redesigns would help the balance massively, and I agree its sad they are not focusing on that.

It's more that DS and BT are meant to be used against your stereotypical stealth camper or campers/tunnellers in general and adding this clause will literally negate the entire point of the perk and promote more toxicity from killers.
While now it promotes toxicity in survivors who think they are gods because thier perks carried them?

No idea honestly. Just bad luck, but the Devs want it balanced around a 2k and expect a killer to lose 1 to 2 gens beforehand. From my guessing though it seems you didn't apply pressure by letting the chase linger on too long.
Saying killers should expect 2 gens to pop before you could do anything is like telling survivors you should expect one of you to be dead before you can do anything. But they don't say that. Its again an obvious hint at thier survivor bias. Because they care more about money then balance. They could still make plenty of money with balance, but instead are going the shady route of just getting new players in, get them to buy some shinys, then either have them stick around as OP survivors or leave as killers. Its like knowing a place of business is bad news when it has high turnover.

Ok. We'll deactivate DS outside of Terror radius. Now GF, Wraith and Pig (not me btdubbs for example) will now be conformed notorious tunnellers! They just activate stealth and ignore DS completely!
I get why you want to change it this way, BUT, with all the terror radius manipulation in the game it's going to break it. We already have so many issues with BT and similar effects.
I don't see the problem with some killers being better against certain perks then others. Its like certain survivor perks are better against certain killers.

Well, you're doing better than I've been doing. I think I played 3~4 hours in the past 30 days.
Half of that time was spent waiting in lobbies, of course.
I haven't played it at all in 42 days.

It's also how you say "Thank you" and "Goodbye", according to some Survivors.
Survivors only have 3 means of communication; tbagging means a lot of things depending on context and the person tbagging.
When they are sitting at the exit gates tea bagging and running around like chickens I know what that context tells me.

No thank you for DS and maybe BT. I don’t care about adrenaline so they can do whatever to that. DS has already been changed and it’s for punishing tunneling, plus it help solo players. I wanna know your idea for BT though with its nerf. BT is also for punishing killers that tunnel, but I see why some people what it nerf.
You probably did this as a joke though-
If it was for punishing tunneling it wouldn't last 60 seconds. If they want it to actually do that, make it so that it deactivates either after another survivor gets hooked or once the survivor with DS leaves the terror radius.

No killer will defend totems, because 1) killer need to check generators, 2) killer need to chase survivors, 3) killer need to clear map from pallets or survivors stay immortal behind them.. and thats already plenty of reasons to not waste time on totems. In the end game, if you go to NOED totem, survivors just open gates and get out. Yeah, your killer ensured that the totem stayed lit, but survivors escaped. It doesnt work.
DS and BT will come into play, because you unhook survivors in my face right after a survivor went on hook. Even if I ignoreboth of you, you can follow me and block my path, if I want to down someone for 60s.
BT and DS is troll combo.
Don't forget unbreakable and adrenaline on top of that too!

Yes, there are a lot of examples of strong windoes that should be removed, since some killers (like pig, wraith or LF) have no other option but to vault it 3 times, wasting an insane amount of time or leave and waste time looking for another survivor who might ALSO go to that window. That's just stupid.
Yep, thats why i feel I HAVE to run Bamboozle on my poor Piggy. Though I haven't played in over a month since they started nerfing killers left and right for no good reason. They had a reason, survivor 'fun', but its not anywhere close to a good, much less balanced reason.

It's a game.
You hooking and killing Survivors doesn't mean you hate the person playing them.
Likewise just because the Survivors mess around or tbag in-game doesn't mean they're trying to be hateful or rude.
Teabagging kind of does. Its a rude gesture and its done to taunt someone when you do it. Ergo Rude.
-
I'll admit the game is better in some ways then it was, but its also worse in others. At the beggining, there where actual infintes. But you could trade on pallets more consistently, and survivors had one less minute on a hook before they died (30 seconds less for each stage). Maps where more consistently the same size, now they are all over the place and usually larger. Ds got nerfed twice, but at least after the first nerf enduring was still a good perk. BT got nerfed but now has unlimited uses. Flashlights...got nerfed and thank gods for that. But the only killer to get any real buffs has been freddy (I find Doc to be more of a sidegrade then a buff or nerf.) Killers also don't have any second chance perks to patch up mistakes they make, so they feel them much harder then survivors do. ANd then at the very beggining, there was no post game chat...and more importantly, no SWF. SWF is the biggest problem with this game that can never be fixed now. Its been in too long, and there is nothing to be done aside from rebuilding the game from scrath to include in game voice comms, and then balancing killers around that. The devs have made a lot of mistakes in my opinionl; as well as showing a strong survivor sided bias in both the changes to the game, and in the things they have said across streams and posts.
TL;DR
In some ways the game is better for killers, but in many ways it isn't. Killers rarely get buffs.

In my opinion the devs reputation is worse than they actually are. Most of the time when anything changes people go crazy in the forums and badmouth them.
I've heard so many times during the last years that "if you implement X the game will die".
Yet here we are in 2020 with a stable player base ( on steam ). And very positive reviews.
The game has actually steadily improved from what it has been.
And for every person complaining about the changes here hundreds still played and enjoyed the game.
That's why I still trust the devs.
Computer Science.
That is good. Then you should also know that saying "it is not possible" for your future career is something silly to say.
It is very well possible but a legit question is: "Is there enough manpower/time /money to do it properly, fix and maintain it?".
I don't trust the devs as they have been caught lying as well as going back on promises that where made. The fact that ranked rewards where supposed to be worked, but then in the MMR announcement they mentioned that ranks will only be good for bragging rights. So no, I have no trust for them.
-
@ZoneDymo said:
you are overreacting based on completely nothing at all, how about you relax a little and see how the system turns out when ya know...its actually here or atleast we know...ANYTHING about it.
I would be ok with this if the devs would ever change anything based on feedback after something came out. But they don't. So its better to act now then try to react later.
-
Make generators take longer, and make a secondary objective survivors have to do as well. Not one that is optional, but required. Or just make the old ruin effect part of gens in general and actually make survivors have to try instead of constantly coddling them while telling killers to git gud.
-
@Satsui said:
There are literally no red ranks killer playing anymore on european servers.
I ######### you not. I played like 14 survivor games today. The HIGHest red rank killer I saw was rank 5. It was just one too!
Rest of the killers, after 15-20 min que time, were around rank 7-15. This is just stupid!
4 killers DCed, because they were getting roflstomped and genrushed to hell without any presence.
This is just plain sad. The devs are refusing to acknowledge their faultiness. It's just absurd.
Reminds me that Meme from The Simpsons, where you see the Principle saying something like this:
"BHVR: Am I wrong for destroying Hex: Ruin without providing a suitable alternative for Red Rank killers?"
"BHVR: No! It's the playerbase who is wrong!"
Yeah. Exactly like that.
Yep, so instead they are trying to make a new matchmaking system to fix it. And when that dosen't work there will be killer bots. Because they will never buff killers again. Nor will they fix maps. Nor will they nerf OP survivor second chance perks.
-
Its like people don't want to play killer when they are kicked around by the devs, kicked around by SWF and even kicked around by the MAP. But the devs want to keep making it easier for survivors. So why would anyone want to play killer in that. When this new matchmaking dosen't fix things the next I am expecting is killer bots.

Well obviously killers will say none. No one cares what they think. I’m talking to those who play both and to survivors. Thanks though and god bless.
So you don't care about killer mains opinions? Isn't that cherry picking and ignoring an entire spectrum of the game?
-
Rework them completely.
- Make it so they can teleport between lockers.
- When they teleport, they leave behind a member of the Legion. This member will attempt to attack anyone who comes close and gives a notification when triggered.
-
When the devs say they expect a killer to just lose 2 gens it shows they don't give a ######### about killers. It should never be an expectation to start a game at a disadvantage for either side. But the devs only care about survivors and thier 'fun' and 'ease'. Killers need to git gud cause ruin was a crutch perk, unlike DS and BT.
-
Killers need buffs not nerfs. They need to be made into the power role. Maps need to be reworked. Survivors need thier OP perks nerfed and killers need more slow down perks.
-
Tunnel whenever you want. Don't give into the survivors rulebook that they try to bully into killers.

I don't know if BT killed your kids or something but you really hate it man.
Sometimes they don't, soemtimes its more effecient to leave the pallet there. And its still a more active playstyle and requires 2 pallets and not just one unhook. The fact DS procs after Deliverance or a kobe is dumb as well.

BT only exists to counter camping. If you aren't camping 90% of the time if won't matter. That said I like the idea I saw earlier about having tokens for BT. Say you get 1/2/3 tokens. Each time you unhook somebody it spends a token. You are refunded the token if it is a safe unhook.
Tell that to all the hook divers who go to unhook as soon as I finish hooking a survivor and turn my back. But survivors think anything the killer does is camping and tunneling.

Honestly the Devs could have done this in a different way, the main complaints about the Nurse were literally Omega 3-Blink nurse, and Omega blink nurse, and 3-5 blink Nurse.
If I were a Dev, instead of doing what the current Devs did, I would have first changed the add ons and leave the basekit alone, and test that for 2-4 months (And actually hire some veteran players to do additional testing). If she was still OP after that, then I would have added a cooldown or let nurse appear for survivors first, before the nurse actually did by 0.5 sec, and keep testing from there.
This is what the Devs should have done, but instead they decided to stack too many nerfs at once, and once the results came out that Nurse was worse off than before, they stop doing any more testing, and left her as it is.
Yep. The devs don't do enough testing and have no real talent on the team in terms of gameplay ability. So then they put it on PTB for a couple of weeks (not enough time for testing), and then just leave it as that. Especially if its a killer or killer related. If it inconvencies or affects survivors in some way its fixed extremely quickly.

BT exists cause killers play cheap. If BT would get nerfed, you would have to get rid of the possibility to play cheap as killer first. But as it stands devs favor killers cheap play.
And survivors don't 'play cheap'? Whatever that means. Its a no skill perk that rewards bad play. Its a bad perk and does nothing but make the game worse.

Can we just remove end game chat? I'm not sure what the devs where thinking by adding it in the first place.

Git gud and don't use BT or DS.
-
Because her nerf makes her unfun to play. But thats ok, its only survivor fun that matters to the devs.
-
The fact they say they that time and good connection is more important then fairness shows again how they have no commitment to balance at all.
-
I've actually been thinking about this lately, mostly in relation to DS. BT is better then it was, but I'm not so sure about DS. A few things there; back before after the first batch of nerfs to DS, only one person got immediatly, everyone had to wiggle, and they could be juggled to a hook. Now, everyone gets it as soon as they get off a hook and have 60 seconds of invulnerability with no counter play. You can slug them to mitigate it, but you still can't do anything to overcome it. Secondly, you could use Enduring to mitigate old DS, but they nerfed it for no other reason then to make it so that DS users got the full 5 seconds they 'deserved'. At this point, I would rather go back to old first nerfed DS if we also got back prenerfed Enduring.
-
Obviously we just need to remove skill checks from the games so new survivors never have to do anything challenging again. Then lets nerf some more killers.
-
@Peanits said:

We've nerfed plenty of survivor perks as well, if time isn't a factor. Let's not forget that Sprint Burst used to have a 20 second cooldown and recharge mid-chase. Several nerfs later, you could still stack it with Lithe, Balanced Landing, and Dead Hard. Nowadays Exhaustion exists, and it doesn't cooldown while running at all.
Double pallets are gone, DS doesn't activate the first time you pick someone up, MoM has been massively toned down, instaheals are no more, instablinds are dead and gone, vacuums have lost their suck- the list goes on. There's changes to both sides, we're not picking favourites. Sometimes there's going to be changes that are great for you, sometimes the pendulum swings back the other way.
And yet the game is still survivor sided and you are nerfing killers.

This is why ds lasts one minute at level 3. If you can do all that in less than a minute, good on you and now you can wait 10 seconds for it to go away by injuring someone else or kicking their gen.
Because I can keep exact track of time as I am running around trying to mitigate 4 survivors and manage to get one down.

Interesting. As you have been arguing how the game is survivor sided, but can knock down 2 of them in 45 secs 😂
Pick a side
My side is that perks that the survivors have to stop me from capitalizing. That stop me from being the power role.
-
Stop. Nerfing. Killers.
They are supposed to be the power role and they keep getting pushed further and further from that goal.

@Cheers said:
DS: Keeps current 60 second timer, however once being 24m or further away from the killer, the perk automatically deactivates and you become the obsession.
Borrowed Time: Change it back to it's original version: Can be used once per trial but allows an extra hit for both the user and the person it saves.
Dead Hard: You must heal back to full state to be able to activate it when becoming injured.
I like the DS change, thats a pretty good way to make it actually an anti-tunnel perk and not just 60 seconds of immunity. Not a fan of reverting BT, that caused so many problems at end game and just in general.

Yes, the 'better' survivor player with DS and BT and exhaustion perks and maps that favor them that are usually too large for most killers to get around in a reasonable amount of time.
