When can we expect the winter event to actually begin?
-
You could have searched the forum. You would have found at least one other thread answering this question, if not more.
-
Are you sure you didn't miss the hit because you weren't aiming properly? Your weapon clunks against the side of the window.

would say more killer sided because not much line of sight breaker for mindgaming after the fix for the pallet spawn.
It's really hard to see red scratch marks as the killer. So, I would still say it's firmly a survivor-sided map. It's huge, with many pallets.

Good for those people.
Your right, good for them. Since they already earned all the cosmetics and what not from the rift. I think it would have been better if they had provided rift fragments to those who aren't finished the rift and BP or shards for those who are done the rift.

This isn't an airport. No need to declare your departure.

Those basement challenges are a whole lotta nope. I skip right over em. At least with this one, I'll get it at some point. It's just irritating. But basement....ehhh, think I'd rather pull my fingernails off with a rusty butterknife lol
Basement challenges can be made fairly easily by using Trapper. Bait the basement with a hooked survivor, trap the mid-landing and at the top of the stairs, entrances and windows. Then someone will want to be altruistic, and they get trapped, now you have two in the basement. Most altruistic players can't resist the idea of saving TWO of their mates so they will try to make a save. Once again they are trapped, usually with the only other person left in the game. Bada bing, bada boom!
-
Well, that's silly that they're giving rift fragments. Many people are already finished the rift and are awaiting the new one.

The thing is that Trickster can down from farther ranges too with not much difficulty and has no cooldown with his knife throws so that he can continuously spam them. His knives are the fastest projectiles in the game and he has a large supply of them.
This is different from Plague who doesn't always have her corrupt purge and can be stunned out of it, Pyramid Head who only has short range attacks, Pinhead who cant down with his power, and Artist who has cooldowns, set up times, and can only down when crows are swarming survivors or at very short range.
This isn't to say that Trickster is immensely strong, but he does have more snowball potential than the other killers listed because his power is faster to use and can still down at longer ranges. However, I do think he could use a rework on how his knives function to make it more fun for both sides.
Pinhead can down with his power using the iri addon Engineers Fang.

Oh please, I've been playing this game for like 3 weeks, I'm not going to sit down for hours studying every perk and ability, what I do expect is for killers not to be able to "steal a win" with an add on no one knows about, and let me tell you right now, most people aren't going to study all that crap just to play this game. The game needs to be balanced with balanced add ons that boost abilities not give new abilities, and perks (3 unique, the rest universal), I can learn 3 new perks, that's nothing. Now I gotta learn all the add ons too? And you can only learn the add ons if you buy the character or face the character and get ######### by them initially, that's the point.
You're going to have a VERY bad time with this game then. There are hundreds of perks and addons, between both sides. You will be learning about other perks and addons as time goes on and they are used in the game. You could try to memorize all the available perks and addons, but that's a lot to remember.

Nah VERY FEW killers have perk like abilities for add ons, most killers have you know, actual add ons that boost their abilities.
Also if they're going to introduce crazy new add ons that no one knows about, they need to let us read about them somehow, we can see what perks each character we don't have says, but we cannot see the add ons, and no one is going to go to the internet to read all this #########, not gonna study all this crap just to play the game, that is a horseshit add on that shouldn't be on this game, anything that makes me have to go to the computer to memorize and learn something about a specific character is not a good thing to have in this game.
Basically, any perk or add on that gives bad players a participation trophy win, should not be in this game.
Oh come on. You knew a new chapter was coming out, and with it a new killer with new perks and addons. The onus is on YOU to do the bare minimum and read up on the new killer.

I never received an email :(

I really wish there was a coaching sub-forum. I feel like there's a lot of constructive help that could be given if people include VODs with these posts
I wish DBD made it a little easier to learn a new killer. Having your new killer set to the same MMR as your other killers, which you may be much more skilled in, isn't terribly conducive to learning a new killer. Sure, bot games can help a bit for learning a new killer, but that only takes you so far.
-
I keep playing the game... doing gens... that sort of thing.

Is Nemesis even working correctly? The reason I ask is with other killers, I have NO issue catching up to Survivors, but with Nemesis, I feel like I am chasing them forever, trying to catch up. He has the same top speed as the other killers I like to run but seems slower for some reason, and no, I am aware that he runs slower when using his powers.

Nemi tip when you whip straif a direction it will slightly extend the hit detection adding a very little forgiveness to his whip but better than none
Yeah, I've been trying to do that but it seems rather difficult with a controller. Maybe it's easier with KB and mouse.
-
Nah, doesn't need to be changed. If you're silly enough to try a hook save with the killer right there, with no distraction, then it's certainly at least partially deserved.
-
Hate to disappoint survivors, but the "buff" that happened to Eruption was a bug fix to make it work the way it was intended to.
-
I don't understand people who rage quit or DC. You entirely forfeit any blood points you might have earned, which makes no sense to me. If you want to die so badly and be done with the game, get in the killer's face and get killed.

Honestly I think his zombies are great for pressure rather than downs better than knight
I just started playing Nemesis and the number of times my zombies have infected and/or downed a survivor is at least once a match. Maybe it's different at higher MMRs. My wish for Nemesis would be for some aim assist with his tentacle strikes.

screams are caused by a lot of things such as powers, add-ons and perks. the doctor's static isn't a special attack beacuse it doesn't decrease health states. what they're asking is if an injured survivor inflicted with hemorrhage will lose healing progress when they scream, which they will.
The doctor's static/shock is a special attack according to the wiki. I can't find anywhere in the wiki where it states that screaming further regresses the health state, outside of regression that is already happening due to Sloppy Butcher.

I don't see how. It specifically says that wounds created by basic attack are affected by hemorrhage and mangled status effects. Increases the rate at which healing progression is lost by 25%. Both status effects are removed once the survivor is fully healed.
Screams are generally caused by special attacks, like the doctors static, or via add ons.

I've played a few games today, and they have all been Mother's Dwelling back to back to back.

More needs to be done when reporting a player i just don't think enough is done about it like does anything even get done about it im getting sick of ######### survivors teaming up with the killer like when its just the two of you left they try to get sympathy off the killer by working with them they bring the killer to you or they deadset follow you around vaulting over pallets i had one follow me around flashing his tourch at myself and the killer to give up my location its wrecking the game like who wants to play with an idiot like that
You dropped these . . . . . . . .

But using prove thyself is still less efficient than just spreading and doing gens solo? You should basically only stack up on a gen when it is the last one... I mean sure, change the numbers if you think it is needed... But in general stacking up is a bad play so everything that encourages that is fine by me...
Stacking up on gens works great. You get them done much more quickly, especially with Prove Thyself. You can often finish the generator before the killer even comes around. Move to the next generator, rinse and repeat.

I disconnected from 6 games yesterday as killer, pretty much in a row. And didn't get mm ban
Why even bother playing the game then if you're just going to ruin that many games? Excessive.

@Hensen2100 said:
Doubtful. Most of the latest killers are pretty hard anti-loop and must be fed pallets non-stop, and kill rates were over 60% (?) when the map was released. Gotta bring it back to the 50% average somehow
The game isn't balanced at 50%, they aim for a 60% kill rate.

So why not just say 50%? That 1.5K ######### is confusing. Lmaoo
Okay then. Yes bloodhunt would have def been better.
It's not confusing though... at least not if you understand percentages and the addition of a percentage to a normal number. +100% is adding an additional 100% to the already 100%, so 200%. The other example, 1.5x the points is literally 150%.

Are others having difficulty seeing scratch marks in the new map?

Nevermind

Self unhooking. It's basically an RNG F-you to the killer in so many scenarios. It massively increases the frustration on one side and has the chance of robbing the killer of a potential victory, all just so one side goes "WOOOOO I UNHOOKED MYSELF". It's such a mean, frustrating mechanic that hypes one side at a pretty bad expense to the other. Probably my most hated mechanic.
Do you encounter self unhooks that often? The game punishes people for attempting to unhook on their own, so I would say that 99.9% of survivors I put on hook do not attempt a self save.

@JustAnotherNewbie said:
I BM if they camp or if they are trying to tunnel someone out to get their attention.
Okay, but camping can be a viable strategy. I had a survivor mad at me last night because I managed to get two people on hooks practically right next to each other. Now, in this sort of situation does it make sense to camp or to yeet myself to another corner of the map? I camp both, as it's twice as rewarding. I explained this to the survivor, and they understood after, but they were sure salty beforehand.

Then this doesn't work every time
I've found myself in games where my ping was bigger than 100 (normally is 30)
Okay, but how do you know you're normally connecting to the DBD servers with a ping of 30? That info isn't even available.
-
I just thought of a mechanic I absolutely HATE as the killer and that is getting blinded. It gets my goat every time, so if I see even one flashlight in the lobby I equip Lightborn.

While I don’t necessarily agree with the OP. Jamie Lee Curtis was in a couple of horror movies. Prom Night, The Fog and Terror Train. Granted this movies weren’t “franchises”.
Curious, as to why you wouldn’t consider Evil Dead horror. It most certainly falls within the horror genre.
Honestly, I find the Evil Dead series to be a bit of a parody of horror.
-
Jamie Lee Curtis is not the queen of horror. Ash isn't the king. Jamie Lee Curtis plays one character from one horror franchise, whoopie doo. The person playing Ash only plays that one character in horror, if you'd even call the Evil Dead series true horror. The true kings and queens are the ones that come up with the horror. The likes of Stephen King, Clive Barker, Mary Shelley, and Lauren Beukes.
-
I mean. it makes it more difficult to start learning a new killer, but it doesn't make it impossible. Nowhere near impossible. I've taught myself a few new killers after only playing as Pinhead, up to prestige 9; now I also know how to play Plague, Spirit, Wraith and Doctor. It's doable, don't expect to win. Hell, when I first started playing DBD it isn't like I was winning at all while learning Pinhead. So, yeah, I don't get the issue.
-
I mean, if a survivor tilts me I will hit them on hook a few times, at most 5, to get my point across.
-
I love playing basement Trapper. It's hilarious when they are tripping over themselves trying to make the save and suddenly you find that you have four people on hooks in the basement. Glorious!
-
There are some maps where there are too many pallets. Like, if I can't ever catch the survivor because they have an arsenal of pallets to drop it isn't really balanced or fair.
-
Yeah, it would be nice if the system would recognize when you are playing a new character to you, specifically for killer, and automatically reduce your MMR so you can actually learn how to use the killer. I was trying to learn Spirit today and the game kept trying to put me against 3 person SWF.
-
A weed smoking alien? No thanks.
-
It would certainly be nice to get some communication from BHVR on this bug. Do they need more information from people to try to track it down or do they have everything they need, or will it be fixed in the next update? I mean, it's been like this for almost two months now, I believe. That's a long time for killers to be bugged and loosing out on blood points and grades.
-
I find it hard to believe that BHVR can't save a copy of the just-played game. Given how little data the program uses, it seems reasonable that it wouldn't take up a considerable amount of disk space. I don't understand why this can't be done. There's no reason why we should have to record our games to make a report.

I report every single tunneling and camping killer lol
Same as all survivors that let oyher survivors die on purpose
So you like wasting your and other's time?
-
Some of you are just too petty. Refusing to play party streamers and the like because the killer will get some extra BP. Remember, if the killer wasn't in the game you wouldn't have a game to play. If the killer didn't perform their objectives what kind of game would it be? So, why punish the killer? Makes no sense to me.
-
People listing their ping in the game, how do you know what your ping is? I know you can send a ping request to many servers, but do we have the server names to do that with DBD?
-
Yes, that outfit would make me chase you out of the game. I mean, look at it. It looks like trash.
