The animation isn't that long.

I dont think that this can be fixed. You will encounter players who have high Ping, because there are not that many Servers. So some players will have to connect to a Server further away, which results in high Ping.
Okay, that's all fine that great until it leads to being stunned, effectively, for a whole friggin minute.
-
Thanks for the suggestions! I run the two brown addons, one showing where you will hit and the other turning the killer towards the nearest survivor.
-
What killer do you hear it on? I know that Bubba's chainsaw makes a banging/gulping noise that I THINK is supposed to be the gas moving around in the tank of the chainsaw.
-
You can find the real names of killers by looking them up on http://deadbydaylight.fandom.com
-
If they nerf Eruption, I hope they nerf that Haddie perk, Residual Manifest, which can blind a killer for up to 30 seconds.

A couple things. Survivors unhooking themselves (without perks) is a 4% chance; Half the time it doesn't even work. I do agree that Dead Hard and Adrenaline are unhealthy for the game, though. Also base kit Unbreakable isn't officially coming to the game, it was a test to see how it would effect gameplay (just like the base kit Mori's), and we all saw how that turned out.
With that being said, I can understand the frustration when it comes to playing killer. I get matched with comp/sweaty survivors on the daily. Gens fly by fast thanks to the abundance of gen perks, survivors body blocking the hook even though you haven't hooked a single survivor yet, survivors 99'ing the gate to fool around and bully the killer. It all can be frustrating. Gen slowdown perks (save for Eruption), tunneling and camping doesn't really help deal with them, either. It's a lose-lose scenario, unless you are extremely skilled with the killer you play or play a killer with a lot of map pressure. Maps also play a huge role in the outcome of a match and it also doesn't help that MMR doesn't work as intended.
The best thing you can do is just play the match for fun instead of for winning (even though it can be very difficult to have fun as killer). Playing for winning inflates your MMR, playing for fun keeps it balanced.
Of course it doesn't work half the time, it's only a 4% chance of unhooking. That means that out of 25 attempts, you would escape once.
-
I love how the topic has devolved into survivors crying about tunnelling and camping. Both are terrible strategies; both waste time in a game where time equals gens completed. The only time I can think that it makes sense to camp is towards the end of the game, like just before or at EGC, if you have no kills OR there are only two survivors left. Not much sense in not camping the second last survivor; otherwise, the other remaining survivor will go for the save, and you get to play hide and seek until you finally manage to kill one of the survivors. Then the last survivor gets multiple chances to escape the game. First via hatch, then by an exit gate and then by the other exit gate—lots of second chances for the last survivor in the game.

I’m a small DBD streamer as well (10ish average viewers) and I do get a lot of people coming in to share hate. I just don’t humor them, and time them out. It’s good vibes only in my stream and chat. :) Just don’t take it to heart. While I get a bunch of salty survivors, I do get a lot of wholesome people and new followers for playing well.
Ban them and move on. Best of luck to you!
Question for you, how long did it take for you to amass that many viewers at once? I've been streaming for a month now and I only have 15 followers and one viewer average while streaming.

It's understandable, you know. It's not super intuitive thing, sometimes trying to repair generators is clearly stupid and hopless idea. It's not fair to be punished for playing smart. Especially because hiding is reportable only if all players do that. Either I repair gen and get caught or we both get reported, then why me? Why can't this other guy repair generators and give himself to killer while I'm waiting for hatch?
It's a flaw in game design and need to be fixed somehow, but yeah, for now hiding with no slugs for 4k involved is a hostage situation which agains the rules and can be punished.
The hostage situation with two survivors left over is only considered bannable if it's for an extended period of time. So, hiding for a minute or two isn't going to get you banned, I doubt at least. Whereas, hiding for 5+ minutes is starting to get excessive.

When I was much newer, I used Lightborn to prevent being blinded by flashlights. Then when I was more skilled, I could take it off my build and deal with flashlights as they come, much like Shroompy suggests avoiding flashlight blinds.

Actually I wasn't confused. I did see it as the 24th. So which is it then...?
Yeah... I know they are listing the one from the 17-24 as Early Celebration... but ######### does that mean? Like, I don't see any of the lanterns or envelopes. Does BHVR enjoy confusing its player base?

This felt like there should have been a stun, but it simply doesn't come. I guess I will play some more and see if the pattern continues.

They work just fine. They probably didn’t time it properly.
Or do you mean as you’re hooking them? A blind does nothing while you’re in animation.
What do you mean didn't time it properly? They blinded me completely, I retained hold of the survivor on my shoulder. This doesn't happen when they get a full blind.
-
The website lists the event only going to the 24th.... Unless I am misunderstanding something.
-
Has anyone actually seen a lantern or red envelope yet? I haven't and I have played three games so far.

Both boon perks are applied to the same totem. If you bless 2 totems, you'll waste you time, unless you are tring to move it or want BP.
You can stack all 4 boon perks on one totem as well if you want, but dark theory is pretty useless.
Awesome, thanks for the clarification.
-
@Veinslay said:
Yes to both
Okay, another question, if you don't mind. With the Circle of Healing and Exponential boons, when a survivor blesses a totem to boon, does it simply create a totem that is stacked, or do two totems need to be set up that overlap, one COH and one Exponential? I hope that makes sense.

It's a PvP game.
If Survivors can focus on doing gens; The Killer can focus on removing Survivors. You can't let one side play sweaty while telling the other 'No, you have to play badly because of their feelings'.
Every 'penalty' suggestion has been horribly abuseable. Every 'penalty' TRIED has been horribly abused.
So...may want to get used to it.
Yup, as it is the buff they gave survivors to prevent tunnelling is being abused to body block the one who unhooks. Then they complain about being tunnelled by the killer.

that is the point, they didn't slug me/ make me bleed out nor hook me (not until 20mins later)
plus I'm pretty sure if he hadn't given up and eventually hooked me, we would have hit the 60min mark when the server kicks u, with the constant not letting my bleedout timer go barely any further (would have just been 40 more mins :D )
Why didn't you finish gens and leave if the killer wasn't hooking or slugging you?

i wish this game had a bot level we could go into so I can at least practice on bots and learn how to play as killer... playing against people I cant learn much because I am so over matched I cant do much... I dont get why they cant base it off of devotion levels. then if some one who is really good and wants to be a duche and get a new acct... they have to buy everything and work their way back up playing against low level people... not sure why people like doing that, but im sure its some sort of ego thing that they dont get filled in the real world... but if they did it by devotion levels, then at least my new acct would be playing mostly against other new accts... thinking that may help some...
This exists. Go under Custom Match, and when you click the + sign to add a survivor, pick the bot option.

Hello,
I’m creating this post because I just noticed that DBD players in Epic Games can’t use Nvidia filters. Why is it? I find it unfair that DBD players on Steam can add filters to their game and those who play on Epic Games cannot. I hope they fix this problem soon and if they don't, I hope they remove it from Steam.
So, because of some bug preventing you from using NVidia Filters, you think they should be removed from Steam. That's the definition of entitled.

Why would you want to buy winter cosmetics now? Spring is around the corner...

There are specific locations on each map where the hatch can appear, however, it's all controlled by RNG, and if memory serves me right, it is the same possible spawn location as a generator or hook, I can't exactly remember. You can learn a bit more on its page @ https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Hatch?so=search
-
The killers' ping should be shown along with the survivors' ping on the menu screen while in a match. They must also add an automatic ending to the game if a player's ping gets too high. It's ######### to have to DC due to terrible lag. Then you might wait a while, try again and get the same result. You don't know if your connection, as the killer at least, is adequate or if the lag is even on your end. So you can easily do this a few times and end up penalized with a temp ban.

You'll have to adapt.
I know that sometimes this challenge seems futile, but eventually the survivors will not be able to resist.
...Yeah, that's all the Borg jokes I've got.
In seriousness, Midwich, GoJ and Borgo have very tricky totem spots, so those might be worth an offering. Although then you'll have to play GoJ or Borgo - so I'd go for Midwich.
The hardest part is going to be getting through this without DCs or suicides.
Thanks for the suggestions of better maps to go to for the challenge. I imagine that my next problems will be with DCs, on top of having my hex cleansed :( Plus, you're right... Resistance is Futile.

What post was that? I don’t recall seeing it.
I have tried searching the forum for the first post, which started the rumour that Leatherface would no longer be available for purchase. Unfortunately, it looks like it was deleted, as I can't find it. Inside that post was a comment by, I believe, Mandy stating that the rumour was unfounded. There was also another post on Leatherface leaving the game, and inside was an embedded Youtube interview with the Devs. They were asked about the state of the license to use Leatherface, and the Devs stated that, at this time, there is no indication from the license holder that they will be revoking the license.
-
What would your solution be, OP? Keep in mind that BHVR needs to be making money off the game to continue its updates and new killers. A chapter on sale can cost $5-6; off sale, it can go up to $11. Typically you get two playable characters in a chapter, so paying allows you to play those two new characters, a killer and a survivor.

If it was not true they would have said so here on the forum. It's said everywhere about Bubba they would have stopped this already if it was just a rumor.
There was an official response in one of the posts. Basically, to BHVRs knowledge, they still have the license with no indication yet that they will lose it. Yes, a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game is coming out, and there is a possibility that they may rescind the license or choose not to renew it, depending on the license type.

I don't see why not... as long as they aren't being shamed which I believe the rule is.

I did. I'm a killer main.
Oh the survivor end of things? Eh...combinations of perks, but you really need SWF to pull it off. And SWF is the gigantic incontinent elephant in the room.
But the only really broken thing that cuts against killers that isn't in some way connected to SWFs are the maps. And somehow, every new one released is nastier for killers.
Borgo has insane pallet density for a map that enormous and often basically plays itself, and Garden of Joy has an actual sodding infinite.
Argh! Don't get me started on the new map, Shattered Square. I can't even see scratch marks clearly enough on it to follow them, plus all the pallets and window vaults. Really, in my mind, most maps are a bit heavy on pallets and vaults, which activate certain speed perks.

This literally just translate to yes you expect them to just give up and die which just isn't reasonable and reads like entitlement. It's not comparable to killer because killer always has a chance to get one kill especially with end game perks like NOED, survivors don't have an equivalent other than maybe sole survivor which is still a D tier perk.
Dude, seriously. You can argue as much as you want about how it's unfair to survivors. However, it doesn't change the situation; it is considered holding the game hostage when two survivors are left in the match and decide to hide and evade the killer, all while not progressing their primary objective in the game. You can argue all you want, but taking the game hostage for 10-20, if not more, minutes are just BM.

Yeah, I don't think the game was ever designed with actual comms in mind. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how the developer can nerf SWF, since they can't stop them from communicating.

If you just sit on hatch the exit gate doesn't get powered, and you can maybe catch them while they look for hatch.
That's a good suggestion. I never thought to try that. Thanks.

Killers also ruin adepts by DCing, so at least the idiocy is symmetric.
How often do you see killers DC from matches? I know I don't ever, unless I'm experiencing some serious lag.

Argh, another match and another hider for the whole match until hatch and they escape through an exit gate, after I closed hatch. This is starting to get frustrating.

@PsychoMantis790 said:
Sometimes it does get frustrating, but one of their purposes is to survive so you can't blame em for trying right? lol
I think there's a difference between trying to survive and hiding all game. I personally wouldn't find it very fun without at least some interaction with the killer.

Not a single one is even P1 and they are all characters you can start with. If this is the case, and they were brand new… I spent a lot of time in lockers when I first started.
Edit to add… AND it’s Midwich??? Jesus I am still scared on that map.
Speaking of Midwich. I've been playing since May, I believe, and I just discovered a breakable wall upstairs that leads to another flight of stairs down to another breakable wall which leads into the bathroom. I was shocked to find something I hadn't discovered before.

Why are you even on the forum for a game you don't play and have uninstalled?

I'm honestly not sure. It seems like every 5 matches I come across a survivor who seems to be able to move faster than they should be able to. Like, what's the maximum time it should take to catch up to a survivor?

Hey all,
Just wanted to report back. I bought myself a budget gaming mouse (Logitech G305), and currently, resin printing a modded shell to reduce the weight. After a game or two of practice with the mouse on Huntress, I was able to go from not hitting people ever to being able to hit them. With the help of the crosshairs application, I could complete the challenge.
Thanks for everyone's help!
