  • Got the same issue, had this crash report plus multiple other crashes today, I must have had ~1h of unjustified matchmaking lock thx to the game constantly crashing

  • Plain and simple, I agree. I like the medkit and COH changes (as well as some killer perk changes like COB + Overcharge). Though the 24s base healing speed seems excessive. That would make self-care even more useless than it already is. Not that important for me personally, I just don't like it when a perk becomes pointless to run. Plus you have to keep in mind sloppy/ mangeled status effect of course, pumping up the time required to 32s and thereby also heavily increasing the time during which the heal can be interrupted and therefore all the healing progress going down the drain.

All in all I think, there needs to be some further finetuning with this developer update and upcoming patch. And that would be great, cause it already includes lots of good changes (medkits, COH, COB, overcharge). Keep going bhvr, I like these quicker changes we're getting in recent months/ the last year 😉

    👍️

I mean if you keep wiggling off and trying to do gens the killer will have to either slug you to bleedout or hook you or lose, so technically no.

that is the point, they didn't slug me/ make me bleed out nor hook me (not until 20mins later)

plus I'm pretty sure if he hadn't given up and eventually hooked me, we would have hit the 60min mark when the server kicks u, with the constant not letting my bleedout timer go barely any further (would have just been 40 more mins :D )

I mean, yeah. I don't disagree with you. But you could've just said "Make Thanatophobia 16% again" lol

The 16% is just a suggestion, that can be changed to whatever. Though I think the current 2% per injured person is too weak to justify running this perk, with only a single survivor needing to heal to get rid of the bonus. The main feature of my suggestion was the token system/ basic attacks.

Btw 16% on the new 90s gens means an extra 17s while pre 6.1 thana meant 20% on an 80s gen resulting in 20s extra, which means, even 16% with new 90s gens would be a nerf compared to pre 6.1.

If someone dead hards your power and you’re left with zero power left, that is on you as a player. Dead hard sucks for killers, but it’s by far the most popular perk in the game, and if you’re not playing around it that’s again, on you. To me if you’re burning all your power to catch up to an injured survivor you’re doing it wrong, unless you know for a fact you can get the down. It’s like making a prediction blink as nurse and missing, it’s a misplay by the killer. As for iron will there are a lot of ways to play around it, such as grass, footsteps, or where scratch marks end. Once you know a survivor has iron will you need to position to play around it. All this comes down to a killer not adapting to what survivors have brought as perks.

Bringing it up is fine, but it is a bug, and affects all killers, not just Spirit so it’s irrelevant to her specific balance.

The Iron Will bug is a sound bug and since spirit is THE sound based killer, I think it's totally fair to bring this bug up specifically when discussing spirit.

Plus I bring up this issue whenever I can, since BHVR has never recognized this bug or even talked about it in any way, so I just decide to be vocal about it and bring it up whenever it makes sense. Which in spirits case imho it does.

  • @TruEternity said:

    I disagree that spirit needs positive adjustments, bug fixes sure but she’s at a good power level. I’m not going to even address the comparisons to Blight, since his add ons are currently way overtuned. So I’ll address the four points you brought up about Spirit;

2&3: Bugs, not relevant to her direct power, as these just need to be fixed. So when discussing killers these shouldn’t even come up, as they’re unintended.

1 is a misuse of her power, and is on you as a player. If you are expending your entire power to catch up to a survivor and they haven’t used an exhaustion perk that’s on you. As Spirit you should never be using more than half your power unless you know you’re getting a hit. If you aren’t playing around a survivors build, that’s also on you as a player, don’t burn all your power unless you know for a fact it’s a hit/down. You can easily mind game non god pallets by going one way and reversing to get the hit.

4 is intended as far as I know, Spirit has always lost a small chunk of her power when cancelling her power early, even if you just tap phase. I assume it’s to balance out her not reviving her power to fast after ending a phase early. I could love with that being removed but it’s in no way a game changer, more a small buff to qol.

Spirit is in a great spot right now. She’s powerful with actual counterplay. She just lost her easy mode downs so people no longer play her.

100% agree, nobody should bring up a bug that has been in the game since 2016

  • Ok, I'm really getting why the forums got that reputation xD

Quick run down on my part

    1. Iron Will is bugged and makes injured survivors 100% quiet without even having breathing sounds (if u don't think that's a bug it's fine, no need to argue here, I've had that discussion way too many times, no need to repeat it)
    2. Addons: the addon rework removed good ones (her green duration, activation and movement speed) and replaced em with gimmicky ones which are a little bit of fun but mostly useless. At the same time they left MDR mostly untouched aka the movement speed increase and also added cherry blossom as a band aid fix against iron will. Oh u can't hear a completely silent survivor? No problem, just run a purple addon ;)
    3. Power Recovery: Agree, her long cooldown compared to blight and nurse is what makes her annoying to play. It's also the reason why even though she's a strong killer, most ppl in the DbD competitive community (aka tournaments) don't like playing her cause u miss a phase and suddenly u got a 15s downtime of being a 110 killer with no power. What makes blight and nurse so fun to play (and even play against) imho is the fast paced gameplay due to their quick power recovery and spamability.

Survivors play one of several sound loops based on their status (e.g. panting while running, breathing while standing still, moaning while injured). If you are injured, you do not make breathing sounds. Elsewise you would hear breathing sounds overlapping injured sounds in game.

Iron Will makes your injured moans completely silent. Since this is the only sounds loop your character is playing, you no longer make noise. This is Iron Will working as intended.

I know the technicality behind iron will and survivor sounds. Though there would be an ez way to fix this. Just instead of applying a times 0 amplifier to the volume of the grunts of pain, make iron will revert the sound of the survivor back to healthy, that way they have breathing sounds and no grunts of pain, as the perk says (grunts of pain reduced by 100% aka inexistent).

PS that iron will is working as intended is ur own opinion, just like what I just wrote is my opinion and it will remain that way until there is an official statement by the devs which has never happened.

PPS from a logical POV the argument still stands. The way IW works right now is illogical.

PPPS Also regarding logic, if u remember, the stridor nerf (according to the devs) was not with the intention to nerf spirit but because old stridor didn't make sense. U can't amplify what isn't there. So logic does seem to be important to them.

Iron Will is working as intended. While injured, you make grunts of pain instead of making healthy breathing sounds. If you make no grunts of pain, you make no noise.

Imo, this is a stupid intention.

Nobody knows if iron will is working as intended, since BHVR has never clarified it. Also from a logical point of view one would assume that iron will is not working as intended since current IW basically stops survivors from breathing. So a survivor gets injured and not only do they supress their grunts of pain but on top they also hold their breath until they're healed or downed? Doesn't make sense. That's why a lot of ppl assume that it is not working as intended.

  • I've talked about this multiple times

    • listed it here in the bug section
    • submitted a ticket to bug report and even
    • started a topic for one of the latest Q&As and got it upvoted so they def saw it

no response, no yes, no no, no we don't care, none from either the dev or community team have ever talked about it, reacted to it, said anything about it or acknowledged it. not even listed under known issues smh

  • also acknowledgment and fixing of the iron will bug aka injured survivors with iron will having neither injured (as intendend) nor breathing sounds (bug?), making them completely quiet. Would make sense that IW doesn't make em completely silent but instead reverts survivor noises from injured to breathing while being injured with iron will. But that has never been acknowledged nor fixed.

    Survivors can't have nice things!!!

Nerf Decisive Strike, Nerf Circle of Healing, Nerf Boil Over.

Has there been any killer perks nerfed recently?

Little FYI regarding: "Has there been any killer perks nerfed recently?"

    1. Hex: Blood Favour -> was nerfed, now only triggers on an actual injure state instead of a simple hit with anything
    2. Hex: Ruin -> one of the biggest changes to the meta, due to it being annoying and overused
    3. Hex: Thrill of the Hunt -> removed notifications, so u can't protect ur totems anymore
    4. Hex: Undying -> only protects totems once and not up to 4 times
    5. Pop Goes the Weasel -> duration for which u can use it reduced by 15s down to 30s
    6. Sloppy Butcher -> like so many other perks now only works on basic attacks, so legion can't just stab u anymore in feral frenzy and give an ez sloppy butcher
    7. Stridor -> is now worthless against iron will and therefore mostly useless since it's main purpose was to counter IW, now only gets u something vs healthy survivors cause injured iron will survivors have no breathing sound

Plus since boons have been introduced, hex perks have basically been extra nerfed by changing typical survivor behaviour. Survivors are now way more focused on finding totems to bless em so hex perks are way harder to keep up and get long use out of.

    Need any more examples? <3

Also Circle of Healing has barely been nerfed since it's main strength is that u and ur team can heal urself indefintely and way quicker than with self-care plus u only need a single perk slot to get that effect. And none of that has been changed. COH is still immensly strong.

And DS and Boil Over have been rightfully nerfed.
