  • If they made him a 115 killer most of his problems would be a lot easier to manage. But as of right now he's the best he's been so far.

  • Not as much as I used to. And not because of the game, but just because I've been busy with other responsibilities so I haven't had opportunities to sit down and play as much as I used to.

He is just a very poorly designed killer. Probably one of the worst.

Only kind of interesting thing about him is his ultra-rare addon turns him into a maniac, 4 knives to insta-down someone??? Without it though he is really bad against a half decent team who just runs around walls all game and holds W. He has been forgotten about, ive only seen i think 2 tricksters ever since he came out.

I was probably those 2 Trickster's because dedicated Trickster mains are a rarity haha

Ima about to search up alL of the tricksters wifeโ€™s lmao

Lmaoo well if you find this profile then you've found a wild me ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • I've been really tempted to get one myself. Whenever I'm about to go to sleep my legs always wiggle side to side and sometimes it keeps me up a bit before I finally drift to sleep. I'm wondering if a weighted blanket would help with it

  • Heard of a couple people that got paired up with me as Trickster but I haven't recognized anyone back ๐Ÿ˜ญ

    @lauraa said:

I think the only person I've seen was Tricksters Wife when I had just fallen head over heels over Prayer Tablet Plague.

I've never really matched with anybody that stood out tbh, I'm a very lowkey gamer since I hide behind a generic xbox random generated gamertag.

I get anxiety so it's probably better that I play against strangers.

The only person I wanted to be paired up against was Otzdarva back when he was doing his "The Thing" challenge because I had a hunch that my Coulrophobia Wraith was what he was looking for but hes EU so I suppose I never had a chance in the first place

Crazy that I decided to check this post right when you mentioned me possibly ๐Ÿ˜‚ As long as I was playing Cat Feng or an all red Trickster outfit or black outfit with the blood eye glam head then it was probably me! I usually never stray away from these characters/outfits :)

Sometimes people mistake me for "Trickster's Wife" who is another very common DBD player that I'm actually friends with on DBD but my steam name is "Tricksters Wife" without the apostrophe. My steam bio also mentions that I'm a Trickster one-trick and that I'm trying to become the #1 trickster player ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿป

  • Orrr we still play it because we still enjoy the game despite it's flaws.

Tbh the only thing I can remember buying is like a killer DLC or two and the Cat Feng outfit and that's about it? So it's definitely not about the money for me because I don't really spend that much on the game. Only thing I really plan on buying in the future is any more Trickster outfits that get released.

  • Trickster. Hot man with knives goes brrr. I always make an item pile for him in the basement and goof off the entire match.

  • There's no way of actually checking properly, but I use certain things to clue me in on what my MMR might be. For example, average hours of players I get, actual performance of the players of the match, steam achievements, and self comparison. For the most part: higher hours, survivors that are really strong at looping, lots of DBD achievements on their steam profile, and just knowing your own performance compared to well known good players (like Otz) can all be used as possible indications of your MMR.

  • I completely agree. I feel like a lot of times I'm one of the only people on here that find the challenge of killer engaging, and fun. I don't need to play a top tier killer to have a blast either.

However, I have gotten extremely toxic survivors before. Both in gameplay and end chat. It just makes the game more engaging and rewarding. And honestly, as long as you had fun, those end game chats won't bother you as much because you can just laugh it off and keep having fun in the next games.

  • I've always loved Japanese aesthetics so definitely Spirit for me. A lot of her skins are really beautiful.

  • I'm a sucker for the item drop. Even if they were being toxic before, I see the item drop as a truce/apology. I don't particularly care about taking the game too seriously and I frequently meme around with survivors/let them go.

  • I've personally never equipped it. But I've always been a bigger fan of Sprint Burst personally. I'm not sure if I would ever use DH, especially since I have a feeling it'll be adjusted in the future.

  • @FlameGNG said:

as someone with 2k hours who plays both i can say that killer is a horrible experience rn half the killers are useless do to 1 perk countering their whole power... for everyone saying soloQ survivor try play twins, trickster or just trapper. None of the "non meta killers" works anymore if you want to perform well you need to focus very much run decent perk, a decent killer and most of the times some addons. as a survivrs its very doable to paly without perks and items. try playing killer without perks one mistake and you've lost 20 sec on 3 gens a mistake on survivor and you lose a hook stage

While this is partly my opinions i feel like this is what most killers feel aswell i mean 90% of my games are 4k and i've almost never had a game with 0 or 1 kills cant think of one the last 3 months atleast... but you cant say that devs are killer mains. we get nothing survivors complain abour 1 perk next patch its nerfed. While killers have complained about haddonfield for years and well it totally got fixed quick.

One-trick Trickster main here! I'm currently in high MMR with โ‰ˆ1k hours and I have a blast playing Trickster. It's fun playing and performing well with a non-meta killer such as him.

Tbh he's the reason why I now lean more as a killer main. I'm always having fun with him. Even in those few matching I'm falling way behind, it encourages me to continue trying hard to get back ahead of the game, which happens a good portion of the time :)

Solo survivor is just boring to me for the most part, or not really engaging like playing killer is. Survivor is only truly fun when I'm playing with my SWF.

  • As the first comment said it's 6 not 5 to fill the laceration meter.

Unfortunately he's going to be good at camping and that's just the players decision on how they want to play. An already weaker killer shouldn't be nerfed even more just because people decide to camp with him? That would just entice people to camp more with him?

Besides, even with him being a good camper, I still think Bubba is the strongest camper. If your true problem is hook camping, Bubba should probably be the first killer that is brought up in regards to that. But again, it's just how someone chooses to play him.

  • Ehh I guess by definition it's teaming but not really anything too bad? I'm always nice with Tricksters and they'll let me live and kill everyone else. I never purposely grief my teammates though in these situations. So I would consider it being wholesome more than anything with little harm being done. It's nice to not take the game too seriously sometimes and to just have some fun even if it's not playing the game as intended.

  • I know you said you can't play low tier killers, but...

Fizz spin soda + iridescent photocard on Trickster will always cause DCs or flaming in end game match because survivors hate it ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Hit them with 4 knives, m1, instadown. Little counterplay to it. Bring in a mori for some extra salt to your dish.

  • I definitely like these ideas but probably not for Trickster. Keeping in mind that Trickster is just a regular human not changed much by the entity I feel like a few of these are a little too unrealistic if we're staying true to his character.

Also a lot of these would definitely take longer to get a down with if we're still counting the 6 knife laceration meter. The only ones that would be better are Buck Shot or Burst Throw. But envisioning myself playing with those would be way too broken and more unfair for the survivors imo. With Buck Shot, all you would have to do is get up really close and get an immediate health state. With Burst Throw, someone that already knows how to aim with him would be a lot more dangerous as this would allow me to fill up my laceration meter a lot faster.

However, I really like the concepts taking it out of the context of a Trickster rework. I feel like a separate killer with some of these moves would be really fun to play against since it wouldn't be a matter of breaking LoS. Maybe an elemental killer and different elements did these separate moves? ๐Ÿค”

  • I've played only Trickster since his release and honestly I have too much good advice and tips with him that I wouldn't be able to fit it all here. Luckily I've written it all out in my very own Trickster guide if you'd like to check it out!

Do Crocs make sneakers? I always assumed they only made those slippers with the holes in them.

I'm pretty sure they do, and they also make the clog version without the holes I think. I'm not sure how comfortable the sneakers are because I'm currently using the clog version :) the holes are an added comfort personally because they keep my feet cool as I'm doing laborious things.

  • I would recommend Crocs. They're not my style at all, but definitely a life saver.

I'm actually about to go Friday to get some real Crocs because the ones I'm wearing now for my job are cheap off brands that I got in a pinch. After even the cheap off brands have done me well, I've decided I want the actual ones.

  • I'm practically begging for a Trickster-styled map. I envision damp city streets in Seoul at night with flickering neon lights and dark alleyways.

  • I've played Trickster, and only Trickster, since his release in March 2021. My killer MMR has shot up since I've decided to one-trick him to where I can confidently say I'm a pretty good killer player โ€” especially bringing a weak killer into high MMR and performing well consistently. I just really love everything about him, from his play style to his aesthetic.

  • Here I come to mention Trickster endlessly again.

My top 2 options are to either play against a friendly Trickster and build the last item pile for him in the basement and goof off for a decent amount of time together โ€” or to play as Trickster and see his mori for one last time.

These 2 instances are the times I'm having the most fun in DBD when I'm playing by myself. I believe it would be a great ending. Trickster has become more than a DBD killer to me โ€” for example, he's given me a lot of good memories playing as and against him in times I'm feeling down or low so he's pretty special to me.

  • I'm hoping that one day there'll be a Trickster figurine charm.

Other than that I would say the pride flag. I have it on both Trickster and my main survivor Feng.

  • Definitely Trickster imo. So much so that I didn't want to deviate away from using it. But I wanted to be more recognizable as I'm trying to become a top Trickster player. So I usually use a combo of the red coat recolor with the moon dust makeup head or the black coat with the blood eye glam head.

  • As the head of Trickster's biggest fan, it's sad to see the head of Spirit's biggest fan gone :( it will always be Gann. I'm sure that @GeneralV as the head of Freddy's biggest fan and @TheDarkTyrant as the head of Nemesis's biggest fan will work with me to continue to honor his place until he returns.

As well as animation locks, any linear/straight path loop, open windows, any sort of hole that he can throw a knife through, if he has his ricochet add-ons cover basically means nothing...

    I could go on.

You vastly underestimate how strong he can be. High wall loops alone don't just hard counter him and are complete rng. You still have a few seconds where you're left in the open when looping at a jungle gym or such. Low walls are only "good" because you literally can't do anything against him on those.

The "skill issue" is more of a lack of being able to legitimately do anything.

While I do agree that a lot of people underestimate how strong he can actually be, I beg to differ on his overall power or need for a nerf. I also think some of these points are just a little off and I'll explain why.

I agree that animation locks are extremely powerful for Trickster. I would say the only animation lock that's going to nearly guarantee a lost health state is a pallet drop/vault. Windows really aren't Trickster's strong point, as most windows will have high walls on either side of it. He probably won't get enough knives in, especially with a fast vault, to get an injured health state.

Holes can be utilized with him, however this is extremely rare cases. It all depends on the survivors movements, add ons, and the map. Sometimes this is even a down point for Trickster though, because some maps, such as Dead Dawg Saloon, have invisible walls in holes/over small structures that block his knives.

High wall loops are detrimental to him. Abuse abuse abuse them. Take him immediately to them if you're looking to give him a hard time. You won't even need a pallet or window to waste a lot of his time with a high wall loop.

But yeah โ€” low loops, long hallways, open areas, are a death trap against him. But that's why it's important to know exactly where to take him to waste his time. Even in jungle gyms โ€” if you're running them correctly he will probably eventually down you, after 3-4 gens get completed.

I think his power right now is the best it's gonna get balance wise. However, his power is rendered completely useless against those high wall loops, jungle gyms, etc. And he can hardly even be an m1 killer in those loops. I'm hoping they'll eventually make him a 115% killer to give him a bit of cushion in those circumstances. I always found it odd that killers with high mobility like Sadako is 115% or someone like Bubba with the ability to instadown multiple people is able to have 132% movement speed but someone with no mobility or instadown potential is 110% without using his long range power that doesn't instantly take a health state.

  • I probably wouldn't ask why they blocked you unless you guys have established a close relationship and you're open to having conversations like that. If it were me in this situation, I would maybe think that there was possibly a different story in the past that they didn't want you to see that was maybe about you? And they forgot to switch it back?

For now I'd probably just continue to view stories on your spam account, and talk to them normally for the most part, while keeping the blocked stories in the back of your head. In the future, if the ball gets rolling, maybe then you can ask but try to have it come off as a light hearted question in case they have a legit reason. Such as making jokes or laughing about it as if it wasn't a big deal. You wouldn't want to make them accidentally feel uncomfortable.

But yeah, that's what I would do. Idk how much my opinion is valid because my track record with relationships is awful. But I guess I'm the therapist friend for a reason ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I think I definitely have a small bias towards certain survivors.

Dweets are adorable and must be protected at all costs. Fengs are cuties, especially bunny Fengs or cat Fengs. I love Steves too, especially scoop Steves.

I'm afraid of Nancys, Lauries, and Ashs, and Claudettes.

Jonah makes me sing the GrubHub theme everytime I see him.

Neas are especially scary. Bonus points for ones with neon colors. I typically will call this species "ne-ans". Pronounced "neons".

Regarding names, I'm immediately kinder to those who are Trickster simps in their names.

I'm afraid of any and all TTVs. I get performance anxiety.

I'm also afraid of anyone with single word names or "hex" in front of their names.

Despite all this, I'm kind to those who are kind to me and kill those who are toxic despite my little bias above. I'll also let people go if there was a DC/suicide. Or sometimes I'm feeling kind. Either way.

  • I got it in December 2020. First symptoms were an itchy throat and a constant smell of bleach. Ended up having a night fever that woke me up, and I had to use a cold washcloth to cool me down enough to go back to sleep. Woke up with a migraine (that I've never had before) and needed to stay in the dark because the head pain was too bad. Also lost my taste and smell right around this time too. It was just mostly a week of laying down, checking vitals to be cautious of any oxygen drops, and staying hydrated to combat my fever. I was dozing in and out the entire day I first got the fever because my body was exhausted and I was extremely fatigued.

My mom and brother who also got it took around 3 weeks to get their taste and smell back. Mine took an entire year. I just recently got it back around December 2021. For a year, both my taste and smell had returned but it was very distorted. There was a lot of food I couldn't eat because it tasted like chemicals. I lost around 20 pounds because of it.

  • I would love to have one similar to the Yeti Hunter game mode in Overwatch.

In Yeti Hunter, you have 4 people who can freeze the yeti and stop him from getting these powerups located around the map. They also have traps they can set around the map if they charge it up by freezing enough. However, if the yeti manages to get all the power ups he's able to oneshot people for a period of time. The yeti has an overall health bar and the team has a limited number of lives/respawns. Which ever side depletes the lives/health bar first wins.

I think this could translate well into DBD as a more fun, more party-like gamemode. Maybe instead of freezing the killer, it could be a light burning situation that would also slowly deplete the killers health bar? Like you could blind the killer from any angle and not just their eyes? The only thing that would have to be worked out is that the yeti can jump out from being camped or continuously frozen. Maybe they can give killers a small blink out of flashlight range but with a cool down?

  • I would say that I get 3ks and 4ks most of the time. It depends on whether I decide to slug the last 2 to secure the 4k or not. Most often, I let the last survivor go just for funsies or if there was an afk/suicide/dc.

So probably around a 75-85% kill rate.

  • I don't even hate DS as an anti tunneling perk. But it frustrates the hell out of me when I don't tunnel and I'm just simply getting downs and hooks so fast that I suffer from a DS even when they weren't the last one hooked.

  • @Tr1nity ty for summoning me here to talk about my husband!

Here's some of my favorite add on combinations with Trickster:

    • Fizz-Spin Soda + Bloody Boa โ”ย (the best well rounded build for him currently, gives you more ammo and faster downs)
    • Bloody Boa + Melodious Murder โ”ย (helps with ammo and saves time spent on additional reloading since 5.1.0 changes)
    • Fizz-Spin Soda + Iridescent Photocard โ”ย (instadowns survivors within at least 5 seconds if played correctly - I would NOT suggest using this build very often if you're new to him because you could fall into bad habits when trying to learn him.)
    • Fizz-Spin Soda + Trick Blades โ”ย (very strong when you know how to aim with him, able to shred through survivors and possibly get a couple lucky bounced blade shots very fast)

A couple of other items I like to use are Diamond Cufflinks and Caged Heart Shoes. I typically won't use them unless I don't have any of the item combinations from above, but they're still pretty good add ons to use with him!

My current build for Trickster is Ruin, Undying, Discordance, and BBQ. These all pretty much make up for the lack of map pressure and gen control that Trickster has. However, if you're having trouble getting downs with Showstopper, you could do an Agitation + Starstruck build as well and get quite a bit of value from it. My brother who doesn't main Trickster uses this build and gets a decent amount of instadowns from it.

If you need any more tips on Trickster you can check out my Trickster guide that I keep updated! ๐Ÿ —

Each to their own opinion, it's just an opinion, nothing more. no need to write a book and say im wrong just cause he is your main :)

No hate towards your reasoning, just explaining why it's actually the opposite in a lot of cases lol. The more information the better โ€” rather than just saying you're incorrect and not explaining why. A lot of people don't have a lot of experience with facing a Trickster since he's not played very often so I like to spread my knowledge with him.

  • Screenshot_20210614-214422~2.png

I build an item shrine in the basement for my husband. And then I ask to die at his feet after everyone else is killed. Life is good.

  • @alpaca_boyyy said:

Just me or facing even an okay Trickster is just no fun in chases? You cannot loop AT ALL indoor or open maps. Especially when he is right behind you, no counter at all unless you use deadhard to dodge a knife or two... His power is just unfun to go against. id rather have an insidious bubba and that's saying something... anyone agree?

A lot of these statements are incorrect and I'll explain why.

"You cannot loop AT ALL indoor or open maps." - There's multiple loops in every single map that Trickster can not do anything at. Even in his best maps. If you're really looking to give him a hard time, even if he's a really good Trickster player, abuse those loops.

"Especially when he is right behind you, no counter at all unless you use deadhard to dodge a knife or two..." - It's actually the opposite. I find it extremely off-putting and much harder to aim when survivors are running around in my face. There needs to be a little bit of distance before his aim can become lethal. Also deadhard doesn't do much against a Trickster unless you use it when you feel like he's about out of knives and then he's stuck without a power.

I know that the general opinion of Trickster is the same โ€” that he's unfun to go against. I think a lot of people like to use the term "x killer is unfun and needs to be nerfed" after facing a player that's very experienced in the killer they're playing, without taking the time to identify their weaknesses and use it against them. Trickster was never a very popular killer, so most survivors don't have the experience going up against him as they do other killers which gives them a disadvantage in chases.
