  • Overall it was more unbalanced on both sides in the past. They seem to have nerfed everything crazy about killers besides Myers addons, which im sure are up next.

The survivor nerfs have been hit and miss, with the insta heal addons being nerfed heavily but leaving still a few very problematic perks like DH and DS. And the introduction of COH has basically destroyed any semblance of balance they might have been going for.

Overall old DBD was funner because of busted addons/perks on both sides, and they have cut through OP killer stuff with a great sword, but left too many problematic survivor perks/addons in place, making it far more unbalanced overall than in the past.

I really thing the zombie AI needs to be worked on, I am not saying to make them chess master level AI just to make it so they aren't walking into a rock the entire match. I get zombies aren't geniuses but they should at least walk around objects in their way.

An author cant write a character smarter than they are. Really makes you wonder about the intellectual capacity of these devs if they cant even make a brainless zombie work like a zombie is expected to work.

I wanted to see other ppl opnions on this topic because as a killer main who already got P3 and all perks on every killer then followed Mathieu's advice (play something else) i can't really recommend this killer to others...

She is not really fun to play as she has nothing special other than being able to walk through survivors and teleporting feels really clunky because you can't really tell exactly where the TV is nor the side its facing and on top of that u cant even move your camera during the animation...

In the end she is just a M1 killer with no chase potential, no insta down and a long cooldown teleport that can be prevented by survivors, instantly removing any form of potential map pressure she might have.

I must say that im just playing her because she is new and i wanna P3 her and find the best build possible, however she is boring as clown, Freddy and Wraith are more interesting to play (even tho they are extremely bland too), and once i get there, i'll probably stay away from DbD until next chapter.

She gets boring really fast tbh, not a very creative direction that they went with her. They should have just added more condemned effects, added a true stealth ability in her ghost form (similar to old freddy), and reduced t.v teleport times.

  • @MilManson said:

She should get condemned levels on survivors for chasing them too.

    Make prolonged chases become deadly.

I mean that might be too strong with the above mentioned potential changes. I don't mind it being hard to force on survivors, it just has to be worth doing so IMO.

I mean she’s not like the 5 most recent anti-loop killers they’ve released that’s for sure. Personally, I played around 15-20 matches as her yesterday and around 5 against her and if you play her well, she can apply a lot of pressure quickly through her teleportation and ability to sneak up on people.

To each their own though, I’m just personally happy that another boring anti-loop killer made into the game.

She didnt need to be anti-loop but she needed to be creative, which is something developers aren't doing. She is just a combination of freddy and wraith, which makes her boring.

Nope. I've played VHS. The 4 vs 1 is the only commonality. It's more akin to a tactical game where both teams need to kill each-other. It's a deathmatch.

Players going to VHS expecting to find a better DbD will be utterly disappointed.

That being said VHS is fun. Once they fix the balance issues they'll get a lot of players (hopefully before the open beta, else they are dead).

Dowsey would find hard to play a game when the servers have been down for ... I've stopped counting. Weeks?

Let's wait for the open beta before making conclusions about the game.

They don't even have a proper forum yet. There is only a Discord with toxic woke modos who will ban anyone criticizing the game with trumped-up charges (Usually some x-phobia). I've seen it happen. I couldn't believe my eyes. I've left that horrible place right after that.

Yeah I do not doubt the VHS devs are bad similar to most other indie company devs (or mainstream for that matter). But all it's going to take is one competent re-creation of DBD where they copy the fast pace/mind-gamey playstyle of it. I never said VHS will kill DBD, it definitely will not. They really seem to be going the same road as "Last Year" in that they are designing a really un-fun goofy game where nothing ever feels at stake. But i did notice VHS copied DBD way more than Last Year did in some ways; they just messed up other parts a bit too much.

1v4 has massive potential for creativity and at the end of the day fun is what matters for videogames. DBD can get really boring after a few games because all the killers are kind of the same and these developers have not innovated with ANYTHING in any major way for all the time its been up.

No new gamemodes like 2v8, no crazy killer powers like mind control, summoning monsters, etc.

Not even ranked mode or addressing the freakin disparity between SWF and non-SWF. Literally no difference despite the fact its gamebreaking.

You get any competent dev team who wants to innovate the 1v4 asym. genre in a meaningful way and people will drop DBD like a hot potato to play killers/survivors with more interesting powers/ability sets (maybe more than 1-2 per, crazy right).

All their licenses aren't going to mean anything when DBD's killers are underwhelming (and only considered fun because nothing to compare it with).

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Please tell me also your reasons why yes / no, etc.

Definitely not, she seems like a frankenstein monster of already weak killers (wraith and pig) and ended up somehow weaker than both. I mean i wouldn't even mind a weak killer if they were actually fun to play, but theirs nothing even unique about her in the slightest. Her power may as well be non-existent.

  • @GannTM said:

The game isn't dying any time soon.

VHS is a direct competitor to DBD, it is the same type of game, 4 surivvors and 1 killer. You can expect more like it to come in the near future. DBD just cannot compete against developers that actually listen to their playerbase. That said, VHS still IMO didn't get the formula down exactly right for what makes DBD so unique (mix of old school videogame elements), but it stands to reason that some company will eventually do so.

Games die all the time and it wouldn't be unusual for this one too given how i'm guessing at-least half the playerbase either dislikes or outright despises the devs. They simply have a monopoly on 1v4 horror which is why a lot of people just don't stop playing. Once that fades, no amount of extra bloodpoints or distractions will stop anyone from leaving.

Tbh this seems like something BHVR wouldn't do because it'd be too much work.

Personally, I'd rather a (much simpler) choice restriction system; just make it so certain things that are too broken can't be used together. You can't use Tinkerer on The Blight, or Decisive Strike with Unbreakable, or NOED and Thrill, or whatever the current most complained about combination is. Keep perks that by themselves are good, maybe even buff them a bit, while removing the most problematic combinations that pushes them into being too strong.

Also either add map voting or change map offerings to reduce the chance of being sent to a realm please and thanks.

That's the thing, it would be very little work, like basically none. It has nothing to do with the out-dated and spaghetti code of the game engine.

1: you can kill the obsession and the perk still works. In fact, you should be killing the obsession if you're using this perk.

2: 16 extra seconds in endgame might not be as good as No Way Out, but it's still decidedly better than Huntress's Lullaby.

They are about the same in strength. They are both really bad as is, whether you agree with that or not. The perk system I suggested would address this huge issue. With it, they don't have to design every perk as balanced to each other as each has distinctly different effects on every aspect of gameplay which makes balancing them as is, basically impossible.

The system im suggesting above would fix this big issue with DBD.

  • @CryptFriend said:

Why is Huntress's Lullaby valued the same as Remember Me? Furthermore, why does HL cost any points?

It's an interesting idea you have, but it's a step in the opposite direction of what the devs have said that they want (balanced perks--they want perks to be equally viable, or at least that's what they said).

They are both pretty bad perks.

Remember me requires attacks on the obsession to even activate. Also has no effect on the obsession which can render it worthless if that survivors alive at endgame. An extra 16 seconds to open the final gate also is not that good, not nearly the strength of bloodwarden or no way out which are pretty balanced perks.

Huntress Lullaby is also pretty bad, it can be removed from the game without even having any effect on survivors. Hex totems aren't exactly hard to find most the time in DBD.

The 5 knives to damage health state is too little amount, bring it back to 6 as that was a well balanced number which changed him from being unplayable at the beginning to being an actual well balanced character that wasn't broken from being a hook camper. It isn't appreciated when BHVR makes the game oriented to be a camper. Twins isn't even good at camping.

He is just a very poorly designed killer. Probably one of the worst.

Only kind of interesting thing about him is his ultra-rare addon turns him into a maniac, 4 knives to insta-down someone??? Without it though he is really bad against a half decent team who just runs around walls all game and holds W. He has been forgotten about, ive only seen i think 2 tricksters ever since he came out.

  • @Tr1nity said:

    Revert more like.

Yes old freddy was very fun, even though he kinda sucked in high rank (he really did).

As long as they just remove dream snares, keep gen teleport, and give back the old 50% slower gen repair when asleep thing, it'd be pretty fun. Putting ppl to sleep with a charge and just watchin em not know wat to do was good.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

My major complain are her TVs cooldowns being insanely long + that stack up insta kill ability is almost worthless.

TVs cooldowns should be at least 50% shorter (30s for Survivor using TV, 50s for Teleport to a TV).

I would prefer if the Condement (insta kill) effect generates slowly over the time after you been hit once by a TV from a teleport. This would force people at least once a match go for some short side objective.

Honestly i just wanted +2 condemned for being in range of the teleport, it would actually make it feel like it does something. The +1 is way too insignificant to use the projection ability strategically to pressure survivors off generators. That and not having to de-manifest to teleport to a t.v (thats the 1 Qol changed i wanted). It's like they ignored everything important and just added in meaningless fluff.

  • @RainehDaze said:

The changes they made did shut down the worst abuse of turning off a TV. If you grab a tape and do a gen, you're almost guaranteed to hit 5 condemned stacks. And you can only remove 3. Add in interruptions... well, it's not such an appealing idea now, is it?

add in interuptions? You realize it can't stack during a chase right?

And just wow at the other part. It's crazy they actually have to run for a whole 20 seconds after shutting down her power in 2 areas to a high-lighted t.v and it takes a crazy 2 seconds to perform. Yeah dude, a massive improvement over the pile of crap she was in PTB.

Why dont they just give survivors pacifiers as a new item, cause they really seem to be treating them like toddlers.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Can we stop judge everything that early please. We did not even try new changes yet. And they said they will look her and if she needs, they will buff her again.

The changes they have proposed are just Qol, they aren't major in any way, shape, or form which is what she needed to not be a D-tier killer. The condemned effect will still pose zero threat. She is basically being released as she was in PTB, not hard to see that.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829192#Comment_2829192

She does get a speed boost when she comes out of the TV - do you mean an even bigger one?

So i was in the PTB feedback forum quite a bit. My one question is, why did you guys end up buffing her in ways that barely anyone asked for? The buffs you gave her are practically Qol changes and not what people were speaking about at all.

No condemned gain on post-stealth hits/normal hits, no increased condemned from t.v projections, lower t.v cooldowns, shared condemned effects, etc.

It's like you created one of the weakest killers in your roster, then gave only slight buffs, while still not changing the biggest issue with her being she has no control over her power at all.

  • @SuzuKR said:

It hasn't even been a full three days since she came out. People are still learning to play as and against her. There is literally not enough gameplay to indicate anything meaningful right now.

She is objectively crap. She needs an insta-down at the very least to be effective in higher ranks and condemned needs to be easier to apply.
