My enjoyment of playing killer is greatly lessened by the loss of the BBQ stacks. Those were my big incentive and win condition.

That doesn't mean the guy that goes in and tinkers with the store is the same guy decoding bug fixes.
I swear, people think video game companies have like 1 hundred employees that all have the exact same job, and they just assign them wherever.
I never said or implied any of that at all. I just stuck to "art department" and "coding department" because those were what you mentioned, and between those two tinkering with the store inside the game should be outside the art department's responsibilities.
BHVR spent time and money changing pre-existing cosmetics in the store to now only be available for a limited time each year. It doesn't matter what specific person or people BHVR used, time and money (which are finite resources) were expended to make these changes. There are a lot of other features, including cosmetic and store-related features, customers actually want. BHVR could've left well enough alone and put their resources into something else. This was a waste of time and effort, and all it's done is made a lot of their customers unhappy and the other customers are just indifferent. There's no increase in customer satisfaction or user experience with this change, and it would have been less effort on BHVR's part to just leave the cosmetics in the store.
The original comment you replied to was still correct: BHVR should've focused on something else. (There's no need to focus on their examples of balance and bug fixes, no one wants to list everything else BHVR could've focused on, those are just the first two every person who plays DbD thinks of.) You made it about departments, but in the end it all comes down to resources: time, money, people. This change wasn't made in a bubble.

Here we see player #546433478 that does not understand the difference between the art department and the coding department.
The art department didn't design the limited-time-ness into the outfits. That's not art, those outfits leaving the store is a feature. The coding department had to add that new feature into the game. That actually required more work than just leaving the cosmetics in the game store like normal.

There's no in-game brightness/gamma slider, so in handheld mode some of the maps are way, way too dark to see on even in a pitch black room. I mostly play docked, in part because of that and also because I find handheld Switch to be really uncomfortable on my hands. If you only play survivor, the game is... passable. The low framerate and frame drops can make even normal skill checks rather difficult. Killer is practically unplayable.
I'm constantly complaining about Switch performance on the forums. I play both killer and survivor, so the Switch performance is very upsetting to me. I never would have bought it if I'd experienced it beforehand and known that cross-progression was a pipe dream.

BBQ with the BP stacks back. I put more effort in back when BBQ was around. There's a lot less incentive to hook without it.
Kindred. When I ran Kindred as survivor, it rarely seemed to work and my teammates often let me die even when the killer wasn't camping, so I don't feel it's worth losing a perk slot over. It'd be nice if that info were basekit, though. That or old WGLF with the BP stacks.
(BP stacks motivated me to not meme around, they were my incentive for bothering with objective-y things. Back when the perks were altered, I thought that the BP stacks should've been made basekit. I still think that.)

And how exactly this will prevent rage quitting? Survs do not quit to prevent killer from getting killed. they quit to get another, possibly easier, with less camping, with more winning chance, match. Giving killer the kill from ds is a good thing (I would love it) but this will not prevent rage quitting at all.
Survs do not quit to prevent killer from getting killed.
Yes they do. Just this week while spectating, I saw the last survivor left alive disconnect the moment the killer closed the hatch. I've witnessed survivors disconnect the moment they're downed or when the killer picks them up. When I play killer, I get survivors who disconnect when I don't let them have the exit gate after I close the hatch. Sometimes survivors who I was going to carry to an exit gate during the EGC disconnect when I pick them up. And back when I had messages on, I got messages after survivors disconnected mid-match telling me "ha ha I denied you a BBQ stack" (I've had messages turned off for years, now).
It's pretty common for DbD players (on both sides) to be petty and salty and spiteful.

Crossplay means my friend and I can play together, one of us on the PS4 and one of us on the Switch. It's the best game we have for playing together; multiplayer games that two people can play on one system aren't really a thing anymore, everyone is expected to have their own system and play over the internet, and for console that requires separate online subscriptions as well. Playing DbD, we joke around and high-five after doing something incredibly ridiculous, it can be a good time. Occasionally. Possibly. Sometimes.

When I search for something and it takes me to the search results page, if I try to type something into the big search bar it seems to input text but I can't see the text. Trying to highlight it doesn't work, either. But the text seems to be there because if I press enter whatever new stuff I typed is added onto the original search.
In other words, that big search bar on the Search results page is confusing and useless because the entered text isn't visible.

She said many times that grades are not for matchmaking. Which is true. The reason why you cannot depip down a grade is because of that.
The problem is that plays are complaining that theu depip within a grade. If you didn't depip then what is the point in doing well? If the match starts off bad for a player they would be more inclined to not try anymore if no risk.
While little, the risk of depipping should remain or the whole system removed entirely.
If you didn't depip then what is the point in doing well?
Doing well is how you earn pips. Earning pips becomes harder as you get to higher grades. In a game that's so heavily built around RNG, where their Steam page is all "be a team player or a lone wolf," it sucks to penalize survivors with a de-pip just because they got crap teammates or were put into a lobby they have no business in because "backfill" or the map had the absolutely worst pallet spawns ever. So much in this game is out of the players' hands.
The existence of de-pipping doesn't keep me playing through bad matches. If I keep pipping and de-pipping and not getting to the next grade, I usually meme myself down to 0 pips and keep myself there. When my best efforts have me getting nowhere, there's just no point in frustrating myself when I could be doing silly stuff and having real fun. It's a game, after all. If the rewards for good matches weren't taken away when I have a bad match, I'd be more inclined to actually keep trying my best instead of running survivor builds that have one purpose (which never have anything to do with the objective) or playing killer and doing random stuff like purposefully chasing one survivor around a single pallet for an entire match (it's amazing how many never notice I slow myself down to avoid running in front of them once I'm in tier 3 Bloodlust). The dumb side stuff in DbD is way more fun than sitting on a gen or fighting through Switch issues to get someone on a hook, especially if the rewards for bothering with the objective feel unreachable.
During this holiday event all I want to do is dance around in snowmen, as both killer and survivor. I'm sure, whichever role I'm playing, it sucks for the survivors in that match who want to pip, but it's a limited event and this is how I want to spend it. Is it fair that they randomly got stuck with me and are penalized for it? I wouldn't say so. I'm having fun with these snowmen while they're here, though, dammit.
@bm33 said:
Based on dev comments in their own official live streams and forum comments have said Grades are time played, not matchmaking. No one but you can even see your grade so it's not even a thing you can show off. Remove negative pips and replace with 0, +1, and +2 pips. Grade rewards should be a positive thing for putting time into the game throughout the month, the negative pips are unnecessary.
If I get multiple matches with negative pips thanks to getting camped/tunneled out where I couldn't even safety pip it discourages me from playing more because I'm not only not making progress in a match earning BP I'm making negative progress in my grade that would give me BP later on. It's like rubbing in that the match was unfun. Atleast if I safety pip it doesn't discourage me from continuing playing.
^ This. De-pipping doesn't incentivize playing well, it de-incentivizes playing at all. The player already had an unfun match where they didn't earn much for BP, and on top of no fun and not earning much they're penalized. It's just so unnecessary to make miserable matches worse.

Because the communty's interpretation of a game mechanic does not mean it is how the Devs see it.
Grades are check points towards a goal. Without the ability to fail what would be the point of them?
But it's them who said grades 'show nothing more than time played':
@Mandy said:
Grades in the endgame tally screen are not used for matchmaking in the slightest. Grades show time played nothing really more than that - as you can't depip down a Grade.
@Mandy said:
Grades are not used for matchmaking. Matchmaking is done using a hidden MMR Score. Grades are there to show time played during a season and Grade reset does not affect MMR - MMR does not reset.
@Mandy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2749815#Comment_2749815
Grade reset has nothing to do with matchmaking. MMR which is what is used for matchmaking doesn't reset on the 13th at all, unlike Grades. The Grades purely show playtime, and are an incentive.
Mandy has said it numerous times and also described grades as an "incentive." Grades suck as an incentive, though, because I have literally stopped playing for weeks at a time because I was one pip away from the next grade and I didn't want to risk losing pips. Even though you can't pip down a grade, the idea of getting further away from the next reward level stresses me out too much. I don't need stress from a game, I'll play something else that doesn't penalize me for having a bad, frustrating time that's often out of my control. Bad enough the matches where I de-pip are often miserable, de-pipping on top of that just makes it so much worse.
Trying to pip up as killer on Switch is the freaking worst. If I manage to get enough pips in a row to be one pip away, that's a miracle in itself. I don't know if I've ever even reached Silver for killer on Switch.

De-pipping should be removed entirely. It's a relic from the old rank system where ranks were used for matchmaking. Now it's grades, and grades are just supposed to be an indicator of time played. At no point can the amount of time I've spent playing the game go backwards (otherwise I'd set it back to zero and do something better with all the time I spent playing, maybe get a PhD or something, I dunno).
Participation is required to earn emblems and pip up to get a reward on the 13th of the month. Taking away those pips for bad matches, which can happen for a myriad of reasons, is frustrating as hell. Multiple times in the past I've avoided playing the game for over a week just because I was one pip away from getting to the next grade. And the longer I go without playing the game, the less I want to return to it and the longer I continue to stay away.
-
Right now I have plenty of matches where I work on gens and take aggro, and the other three survivors do... nothing. They Urban Evasion around the edges of the map. Whether they're too scared to participate or so selfish they play for the hatch from the second they load in, I don't care, it ruins the game.
For the killer, it only sucks when all remaining survivors are immersed. As a survivor, it sucks when all remaining teammates are immersed. BHVR needs to choose: is this a team game where everyone pulls their weight, or is this a lone wolf game of hide-and-seek? It can't be both. Team players are miserable in a lot of matches with BHVR trying to have it both ways. BHVR hides behind "unpredictableness" and "player agency," like their customers don't quit playing the game over numerous matches of bad teammates. Like killers aren't miserable checking bushes being stuck in matches indefinitely because running Whispers shouldn't be a requirement to not be held hostage.
Sorry. To sum this up: I agree with your point plus I think the problem goes further, and I took this opportunity to rant a bit. Any day I start up the game and play a few matches, I find myself needing to rant about this.
-
I don't feel like I get better at them. I have the same thing where sometimes I get a bunch in a row and then I won't be able to hit one to save my life. That's on PS4. On Switch, greats are damn near impossible to hit on purpose because the skill check timing changes due to the inconsistent single-digit fps.

Not viable. It only matches up with other players on that platform who also have cross-play turned off. I've tried turning off cross-play, and I didn't get matches. It's a huge problem on Switch, where I gave up after waiting for over an hour in queue. Viable means "capable of working successfully"; not getting a match at all is not a success.

What I question myself all year is: "Why is there no setting to disable aim assist?"
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3306131#Comment_3306131
Yes, but what can we do? I just read now that Pulsar made a thread, that is extremely popular in the past, blatantly ignored by the developers? What hope is there for this game to have any optimization?
What I question myself all year is: "Why is there no setting to disable aim assist?"
There's an answer to that: because the game doesn't have aim assist. The thing that causes killers to miss hits is called "aim dressing." Aim dressing exists to make the animation look better, adjusting the direction of the killer's swing so hits look like they connect with the survivor. This benefits survivor players, not killers. Because it's not even for killers, killers would never be allowed to turn it off. And every killer would turn it off, because as Peanits himself said, while aim assist exists to help players get hits they otherwise wouldn't, aim dressing will never help you get a hit, it can only cause a killer player to miss a hit they otherwise would have gotten.
Source of Peanits talking about aim dressing:
@Peanits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1026203#Comment_1026203
It is the case. To explain:
Auto aim gives you a hit you otherwise would not have gotten.
What happens in DBD is that the game recognizes that you've gotten a hit by checking a cone shaped area in front of you for survivors, then pulls you towards them to make it look like you'd expect (so your weapon actually makes contact). It will not give you a hit unless you actually aimed at them. Basically it dresses it up after the fact.
That's not to say that it can't cause a hit that should have connected to miss- I'm not trying to convince you that it doesn't happen- but it's not "auto aim" or "aim assist".
EDIT: Just noticed the other part of the question.
It is not there to hide lag. To hide lag, you would have to predict their movement and move the killer on their screen in advance. This is not the case. If there's a lot of latency between you two, the killer will appear to miss wildly regardless. As the killer, you have the authority over hits. It's not compensating to help you out. What you see is what you get. It's purely just to make your hits more visually appealing.
-
BHVR can't even be bothered to add needed controller options like dead zone and response curve settings, nor can they give the really absolutely necessary brightness/gamma setting for Switch handheld. It's abysmal. Optimization is one thing, it's difficult (and it should have been contracted out to professionals), but these missing options imply they don't even care about their customers on console. They never should have ported the game to consoles. They don't deserve console players' patronage or loyalty at all.
That's without going into how upset I am about the basically canceled Switch cross-progression. I was really counting on that. It killed all faith and any remaining trust I had left for BHVR.
-
BHVR needs to at least make the skill check bigger, like the first struggle stage skill check or something. Players on Switch would still occasionally miss it, even at that size, so it's not like it'd be guaranteed, but right now it's never and that really sucks. It's one thing that Overcharge results in a gen explosion 100% of the time, that's a killer perk, but DS is a survivor perk, all survivors should have a chance at using it, whether those survivors are on a PC, a decent console, or God forbid a Nintendo Switch.

But the survivor wouldn’t end it actively by exiting the locker. The killer has to still do it anyway, either locker grab or mori. The survivor isn’t completely innocent, but the killer is the one deciding not to end it.
This situation is no different from a hatch standoff, and the devs said that those didn't count as hostage situations because both players were choosing to continue and refusing to forfeit. Hostage means one side is being prevented from participating in normal game play and there is no active timer.

I guess it's something about the lower quality graphics, then. Like the way the lowest quality setting on PC lets survivors see the red stain through walls.

Very late to this post, but I believe the add-ons that are bugged are his yellow add-ons. I got merciless my first try at his adept but did not get the achievement, saw a post on reddit saying it was the yellow add-ons and tried my next game without yellow add-ons and got the adept achievement.
First game I had on Burnt Letters and Sacrificial Knife, second game was Broken Doll and Sacrificial Knife. I'm unsure if the bug is with all of his yellow add-ons or just Burnt Letters, but I used Sacrificial Knife in both games so it was definitely switching the yellow to a green that seemingly fixed the bug. I also was streaming for both games if showing the recordings would help resolve the issue.
I've earned Merciless Killer with Dredge a few times (PS4). Used only his three perks and no add-ons. I doubt I teleported much if at all. I have never been able to unlock the Adept Dredge trophy. I posted at least one bug report and there was no response nor anything mentioned in any patch notes about fixing the issue.
I never use killer add-ons, so whatever the problem is it goes beyond add-ons. At least, it does on PS4.
-
At least on PS4 and Switch, I see the killer's red stain blinking like a Christmas light when they're in a snowman. Not stealthy at all. Is it supposed to do that?
-
This is so common in my solo queue matches that I am legitimately surprised when my teammates do anything.
Playing survivor is just the worst. According to the game rules, 3/4 survivors avoiding the objective is okay; it's only a problem when it's all remaining survivors. I can only hope the killer actually reports the other three players after I kill myself on the hook in those matches, since I know some of those go on for 20+ more minutes.
-
Eruption is fine. My teammates don't do gens, and if they're not going to do gens then neither am I, so no one actually gets Incapacitated, anyway. We never even know the killer has Eruption until we see it on the end screen. Dead perk.
(That's sort of sarcasm but also an accurate assessment of the majority of my solo queue matches. I do hate Incapacitated when I get affected by it: my teammates can't tell I'm Incapacitated, so they get pissed off at me for standing around not doing gens or healing them, and then they grief me because I'm obviously the jerk.)
-
Yeah, I finally made a nice number of points in a killer match because I was done with the 'kick stuff' Tome Challenge, and of course that time it didn't count the +100% bonus. I turned off the game entirely, I'm not playing killer (especially not on Switch) if the incentive is going to be inconsistent. I saw what the survivor queue is like, I'm amazed any players are willing to sit through that. And you're not going to get a lot of killers willing to balance it out if the incentives aren't working, no wonder I got such ridiculously out-of-my-MMR-bracket survivor groups.

Don't take things that literally, it was an example, but as long as I don't break copyrights and I don't say that the cards are original, I'm not breaking the law. But as I said, it was an example to show how saying "Eh, it's your problem if you can't think straight or control yourself" is a dumb saying.
People who buy skins as soon as they hit the store are not impacted at all, that's totally true, the most impacted ones are those susceptible to exactly what you said: the "TIME LIMITED ONLY, BUY IT NOW BEFORE IT LEAVES!" part.
And no, saying "Seasonal" wouldn't solve that issue unfortunately.
And we haven't even touched on how they chose to categorize things as "Seasonal"
Idk about you, but a moose corpse doesn't seem "seasonal" to me
a moose corpse doesn't seem "seasonal" to me
It's a reindeer.
The Meg cosmetic that's being taken away doesn't look Christmas-y or holiday related at all. A lot of those pajama sets don't look holiday-related, either. Even the newest set of cosmetics don't look Christmas-themed to me: they look more like prom dresses. Kate's is pink with flowers, for god's sake. It's just a gown. These things are deemed holiday in name only with some lore to justify it, but very few of the outfits being called seasonal involve someone dressed as a Christmas character.
Prom dresses and pajamas, what the hell, I wear pajamas all damn year.
-
It's punishing because this is an asymmetric game. That's the long and short of it.
If there were one killer for each survivor, then it'd be fine. But there's not. So whenever a survivor is having a fun time being chased, the killer is thinking about how each second in chase is another second the other survivors are working on generators. If there are three survivors each on their own gen, then ten seconds in a chase is thirty seconds of gen repair time.
Leading the killer on a chase is fun for the survivor. People have fun when they're performing well. When a survivor is having fun, they're performing well in the chase by extending it. In general, the better the survivor performs, the longer the chase is. In contrast, when the killer performs well in a chase they end the chase. The longer the chase goes on, the worse the killer is performing, the less fun the killer is having.
To sum it up, when one side is having fun, the other side likely isn't. That's how the game is designed. There's no real way to balance for longer chases except maybe making generators take longer to repair, which the devs have done, but that can only go so far as players don't want to sit and hold M1 on a gen for ten minutes. The devs also did a few things to try to shorten chases, like lessening the survivor's speed boost for getting hit and shortening the post-successful-hit animation for killers. But as long as the killer can only be in one place while survivors can be in four places at once, then any time the killer is focused on a single survivor it's going to feel punishing.

Egg nog is a physical product. It takes up space on shelves. It goes bad if people don't buy it in time.
Physical and digital products aren't really comparable. Digital products don't take up shelf space. There's no overhead. They're made of computer code and pixels. Each item isn't made individually. There's no factory pumping out Trickster's bats, no group of bored mothers sitting around stitching each Meg dress by hand.
I'm not sharing an opinion about the sales tactics here. I'm just saying that digital products aren't at all the same as physical products. Especially not food products, which have expiration dates: people get physically ill if they consume the product after it's overflowing with bacteria. Any expiration date or limited availability on a digital product is artificially created, someone has to put in extra effort to code that in.

The snowman event last year was the best time I've had in DbD in forever. I remember a Billy begging me and my friend to save the other two survivors off the hook, but we were too busy twirling and high-fiving each other in the snowmen suits. Our two teammates died, then Billy killed us, it was hilarious. Also had some matches where we chased the killer around, I'll never forget that poor terrified Wraith ringing his bell over and over again.
I don't understand why anyone playing survivor even touched gens when you could dance in circles as a freaking SNOWMAN. It'd be great if killers can be snowmen this year, then it'll just be everyone dancing until the match timer runs out.

Corndogs are a vehicle for yellow mustard. I go through at least two mustard packets when eating a corndog.
-
I wish Incapacitated would at least put a symbol next to survivors' names when it affects them. I'm ######### tired of my teammates being useless sacks teabagging next to me while I CAN'T DO ANYTHING because I'm incapacitated. I'm not being a jerk, I'm not refusing to touch the gen or refusing to heal you or whatever the hell it is you want, I literally can't do anything.
Then they often get mad and do things like body block me or sandbag me because they think I'm the bad teammate.

A couple more tips people may not realize:
You can remove crows by hopping in a locker. Just in an out real quick and the crows are gone. It's not always feasible, but there are times when it's really handy.
You don't have to get swarmed for her to know you're there. If her crows pass by close enough to a survivor, she gets a killer instinct notification.

I disagree. Back before DC penalties existed, disconnects were a constant, rampant problem. There'd be days with at least one DC in every match. There were often forum threads about how unplayable the game was and how badly disconnect penalties were needed.
However, if BHVR can program some decently competent bots, I'd much prefer a bot replacement system to a DC penalty. Unfortunately, BHVR couldn't even give us a husk system to stop survivor disconnects from screwing killers 50 different ways; them giving us replacement bots seems horribly unlikely.

A skilled console killer that plays well is way more impressive than a PC killer. Console killers have to deal with controller deadzones, getting spun, autoaim, low framerates, stuttering, etc. Also bleeding toxic survivors out on the ground because they think it's funny to teabag or moonwalk in your face or emote at a pallet cause they got a stun at a 100% safe pallet is satisfying
I've actually had to let some survivors bleed out lately because I'll be practically unable to move when I pick them up. Fighting the wiggle on controller has gotten worse and worse. That's without Boil Over. My god, the effect Boil Over can have: the other day a survivor went down near the middle of the Midwich courtyard, and the hook was about five feet in front of me against the clocktower, but I bumped against one of those huge chains in the center and for the life of me I could not get off of it, I tried multiple different ways, and the survivor got off my shoulder.
I never bleed anyone out for teabagging, but many have bled out for equipping Boil Over.
That's on PS4, where in general I can play okay. I don't even want to talk about how bad the game is on Switch. There are more matches than I can count on Switch where after whiffing over and over and over again and losing track mid-chase because the framerate can't keep up with anything, I just go AFK, the survivors get to leave without anyone having been hooked. I wish BHVR would stop making Tome Challenges that require playing killer, 99% of survivors don't trust killers enough to farm but I can't get half of those challenges done any other way. I'd never touch killer on Switch if it weren't for challenges and dailies.

Okay, BHVR has not put deadzone and response curve settings into the game, so how do you manage to have the control necessary to make small corrections? For me, it either goes so slow that it can't keep up with the survivor's movements or it goes wild. The closest I ever got to having more precise aim in a game without controller settings was putting an extender on the right analog stick, but playing with one of those for a few hours left my hand in immense pain for over a week.

you know you can turn off crossplay right
^ This. Turning off cross-play is an option.

Welcome to a huge problem with DbD: when there are only two survivors left, the game is a mess. It is against the rules for survivors not to work on gens for an extended period of time. If all remaining survivors stealth around the map trying to hide from the killer while not progressing the objective, it is a bannable offense (this has been stated by the devs multiple times, it's not my opinion). However, if one person is working on gens while the other stealths around the map, this is technically okay because a survivor is attempting to progress the objective and so the killer has a reasonable chance to locate them.
In this situation, it's very understandable why the survivor who's playing the game would get upset at the one stealthing around avoiding the objective and the killer. If the one attempting the objective instead decided to also play totally selfishly and go into hiding, then it becomes a reportable offense.
In other words, don't be the survivor who stealths around the map when there are only two left. You'll make enemies. When I play killer, if I notice that I keep finding one of two remaining survivors, I will comb the map for however long it takes to find the one hiding. I did that yesterday to a Claudette dressed in black on the damn swamp. She was sticking to the walls, crouching behind rocks while letting the poor Ash take all the aggro, not healing him or helping him with gens.
If you are attempting to do the objective and not stealthing around the map selfishly, then your teammate absolutely deserves to be reported and hopefully the devs will do something about it. Working with the killer is definitely bannable. As a rule, the devs don't tell us what actions they take against those who are reported, so things may be getting done about it but you'll never know.

You didn't mention it, so I'm assuming you weren't injured? Pharmacy requires being in the injured state for all functions to work.

Is the cursor on the screen when that happens to you? If so, it's a bug that's happening to a lot of people.
-
Did BHVR fix the issue of the cursor popping up during a match and disabling the ability to move the character? Because if not, DC penalties should be off. It happened to my friend three times in a row yesterday. The first two times he was stuck (we refuse to take the penalty if we can help it, we save that for actual game crashes) in the match until finally he was killed (killers, if you see an AFK survivor, they might be having technical difficulties, don't be a jerk about it, the problem doesn't fix itself so be nice and kill them quickly). The third time I noticed the cursor pop up on the loading screen and told him to close the game.

You do this, and then we get a forum post asking "what is this thing?"
XD
The number of times I've seen killers get super confused is surprisingly high. I didn't expect that to happen when I first started doing it, but it's a hell of an amusing bonus. 😁

If I recall correctly, having the challenge active from the tome causes them to spawn on the map?
Indeed. Whenever I don't have a survivor tome challenge to work on, I put on the Pustula Plant one. I just like seeing it spawn on the map.

I cannot get past the "Sacrifice 10 survivors challenge." I've sacrificed more than 10, but the majority are not counting. The challenge is not progressing and I'm stuck.
-
I thought that was an issue with the controller. Goddamn, I hate this game on Switch. Yeah, this happens as killer, too. Chasing survivors is a nightmare.
There should be no Tome challenges or Daily Rituals for killers on Switch. Not even joking.
I am so tired of how bad this game is on Switch. They really owe us all our money back.

People overreact to how difficult playing some killers on console are. Imo nurse doesn't even cracked the top 5 in difficulty on controller. Trickster, huntress, cenobite are all harder because you need to be much more precise. You can swing and move you weapon to still catch the survivors.
I'm not saying that she's not harder on controller just not as hard as people make her out to be.
Before Nurse was updated to have that power bar, I was learning to play her on PS4. It was difficult but rewarding. Then BHVR updated Nurse, gave her a Blink cool down with a power bar on top of her fatigue, and she became a miserable slog to use. It's so punishing to miss a Blink. I dropped her completely.
Watching videos of people playing Nurse on PC makes me so jealous. They can see survivors. So much of my time spent playing Nurse, I couldn't actually see survivors. I had to Blink on top of survivors, and I'd have to swing immediately. By the time my button press registered and Nurse would swing her weapon, the survivor would either have run to where I predicted and the hit would connect, or the survivor would react in time and change directions so my swing would miss. The low framerate and frame drops only made the issue of needing to guess where a survivor is worse.
Trickster is miserable to attempt to play on controller. If I have a challenge to do, I stand around and if the survivors want to get some healing points they will stand still and let me hit them. Even when they stand still, trying to adjust for the recoil is frustrating; attempting to aim when they're moving and dodging is me throwing my controller out the window into incoming traffic. Forget it. Huntress and Death Slinger without the necessary controller options are bad enough, but releasing Trickster without those controller options and still not having them all this time later? BHVR knows these things are issues on console and they don't care. It's one thing if old killers didn't port over to console well, but for new killers to suck on console is an insult to DbD's paying customers. If BHVR for some reason can't add these controller options, then Trickster shouldn't have gone live with this power.
If I seem like I'm in a bad mood about this game, it's only because doing the killer-specific tome challenges on Switch makes me want to uninstall and set fire to my house to make sure it stays uninstalled. Anything beyond "break pallets/gens" or "chase survivors for 320 seconds" is painful. Down survivors? On Switch?? Why do you hate your players, BHVR?!?!

Multiple reasons. Since you're asking, I have to assume you've never played Dead by Daylight on console. The issues affecting Nurse are felt by all console killers, but they make Nurse especially horrendous due to her design.
Aiming with an analog stick is more difficult than aiming with a mouse. There aren't enough controller options to allow console players decent aim. Many games have dead zone and response curve settings for controllers, but Dead by Daylight does not. Without those options, it is difficult to make small precise movements: the camera doesn't move or it moves too slowly, then a micro-adjustment of your thumb later the camera swings wildly. This problem is felt with all killers on a controller, but Nurse and the long-range killers are hurt the most.
Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One all have framerate issues. During chases, regular killers can lose sight of survivors easily due to the low framerate and frame drops. This problem is much much worse with Nurse. The low framerate and frame drops make Blinking as Nurse more difficult to control, and it means that while Blinking the killer is often practically blind.
There is also input latency on console. It's noticeable on the PlayStation 4 and horrendous on Nintendo Switch. The input latency makes skill checks more difficult to hit, and it makes injuring survivors more difficult. On Switch, by the time my input registers, the survivor is long gone from the area I'm swinging at. PlayStation 4 isn't nearly as bad, but anyone who does a skill check playing on a PC and then does a skill check on a PlayStation 4 will feel the difference.

My zombies get stuck on flat ground or in corners about 90% of the time, cause survivors a small amount of annoyance 9% of the time, and do something helpful about 1% of the time. The zombie AI needs to be buffed dramatically. In the past few days I've noticed them getting stuck on windows trying to reach survivors on the other side of a wall a lot, and that wasn't a problem I ever noticed before. They've recently gotten dumber, and I didn't think that was possible.

Basically. Everyone gets a free DC per day. After that, you get a 30 minute timeout. After that, you get a 24 hour ban, and it continues to escalate from there.
And then Switch players will either all be banned or BHVR will have to move them to their own queue again, meaning another event where Switch players have 10+ minute queues and can't play with their friends. Not that PS4 is a bastion of stability, either, but it's worse on Switch.
I haven't actually experienced the increase in purposeful DCs in my own matches. I've experienced crashes and errors myself and seen other players disconnect at the weirdest of times which there was no way they did on purpose. I'm not saying people aren't DCing on purpose, I'm sure in some regions/MMR brackets it's happening a lot, but the problem of the game being less stable is a big issue and it's BHVR's fault, whatever their update did really screwed things up.
