I'll generally give the last person, sometimes a duo and a very rare trio the gate on their last hook.
It has nothing to do with me dropping MMR, I just feel...bad killing everyone, especially if it's been a fun game.
AFK killers, I understand - but I see a lot of AFK survivors too. Always a Jane for some reason...
Same Jane multiple times, lol

I know what your thinking. Your going to tell me, "To keep up with the gens speeds" or "So I can fix my mistakes with the press of a button." Fair answer but I have another question. Does it ever get boring? To me it does. Don't get me wrong I can understand it but doesn't ever get bland? To be honest I think I would've stopped using ds if it wasn't for the occasional tunnel. Would've stopped using corrupt if it weren't for the fact three gens can be popped right off the bat. I think the increase in meta was due to sbmm forcing a completive mindset. Cant blame it all on it though. Meta was a thing even before sbmm. As of recently I've started using more perks for fun with the sprinkle of meta. Been enjoying the game more. The build I've been using is balanced landing because at least one exhaustion perk would be nice, any means necessary because I find it funny to reset a pallet just to stun the killer again, pebble because pebble, and borrowed time because well I don't need to explain. The goal of this discussion is to understand what everyone's reason is for using meta. I'm expecting a few obvious answers but I'm hoping there is more to it then just that. I personally don't have a problem with it but it can't be very fun to use the same thing over and over again... right? I've used my fair share of meta as I'm sure you have as well. This post is starting to drag on so ill let you comment as you well. That is all thank you.
I only run borrowed because i have a bad habit of hook bombing, lol

Toxic people are just Toxic.
Had a Nemesis, tunnel camp me all game, DS, tunneled, camped at EGC with noed.
Then says, "ggs" and sends me a friend request, SMH.
I literally only tbag my other survivors to see how long we both tbag for before they give up (I always win) 😂

I said to him on the xbox dms
Me: "Why were you camping?"
Trickster: "cool"
Me: "It's not cool of how you have to do that even though us survivors haven't did nothing to you."
Then he ignores me because I was right and he was wrong.
I got called a fortnite kid once when I was playing ROBLOX when I killed somebody on a game. I am only 18 years old and I hate those kind of people who have minds of a mynabird.
Or you know...he ignored you because maybe his mom called him for something, he came back at totally forgot about the interaction between him and a random person he couldn't care enough about to remember the conversation you had? There's like 15 million reasons he didn't respond

Nope. Section 8, paragraph 69 of the survivor rule book. You must not run slowdowns. You must not camp, tunnel, slug. You must accept your loss. While survivors bring boons, prove thyself, commodious with BNP, dead hard, decisive strike, etc And you as killer must just play better and "get good"
Oh, of course, silly me, how could i forget

face camping is easy to counter, tunneling is just a mood killer, like some killer are willing to throw a game just to get only one person out of the game for no reason...
So it's ok for the killer to lose 3 gens within 3 minutes, but it's not ok to apply some sort of pressure so he has a fighting chance?
-
@LiquidSoap said:
I am literally gonna quit this game cuz of tunneling meta, what's the point of even trying to play this game, if you get hooked first you're the first to die? and bt ds and uk are useless against a killer who commits to you for literally no reason. Like how desperate are killers for a win? rank just reset and Iam getting facecamped in ash 4 by 2-3-4k hrs killers ######### is that #########? Am I not allowed to play this game cuz I picked survivor over killer? I lost like ######### 20 games in a row and for some reason I get even worst killers every game...
Git gud, that's literally it, ta da

It would be fine if boons worked like hexes. They're assigned to a random dull totem that has a high chance of spawning next to the killer and once it's snuffed it's gone forever.
But... then survivors can't torture the killer enough and it would be 4k every match

grabbing while unhooking is way more fun of a mind game than looping though. and it gives a bigger reward. you also don't get flashlight spammed in your face at every damn pallet and you get to interact with survivors all the time since eventually they all come like flies to the hook.
i literally get more kills than normal gameplay but with 10% the effort, plus i don't get bm'd as much.
I mean, if they flashlight after a pallet... they're gaining about the same amount of ground as if they were just holding W and it's not hard to follow the scratch marks, they stay up for a little while after you get un blinded (however you want to say it)

This was the question that finally made me create an account.
But in all seriousness I enjoy playing as the Clown, Trickster, Trapper, Ghostface, Legion, Doctor and Wraith. I have played every killer in the game and these guys are my favorite to play. Don't get me wrong, I know it is possible to 4k as them but it isn't as easy if you were to play as a good Nurse, Blight or Spirit. I have played those 3 killers and I don't enjoy their mechanics. When I hear a glass bottle shattering and or see some bear traps in my survior games I am excited because it's not a Huntress, Nurse or Spirit. Variety I love when it comes to perk builds, add-ons, items, killers and survivors.
If you leave a comment please be nice and let me know if you play a "bad" killer and why you play them.

It'd be a nightmare for BHVR, especially at Anniversary.
The creator of FNAF has had some...issues in his past. Considering the nature of these controversies, adding a FNAF chapter for Anniversary (which falls in or near Pride Month) would be a massive slap in the face to a lot of minority communities. It'd be a PR disaster, one that BHVR really can't afford.
I mean, it wouldn't matter to the people who just want FNAF in the game and don't care about all the ruckus, but that's just my 2 cents, don't go out flamming me please

@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
It's an abuse of power in which killers can hold a game hostage and not let one player actually play the game for the entirety of the match.
Back when the game was more fair, they were criticized of this behavior. After SBMM and with killer mains crying that the only real way to "win" (don't even know what that means anymore lol) is to camp and tunnel, these guys are now creating their own alibis to justify themselves too.
Grabbing players is fine, but it's the people who abuse them that's the problem. Sadly in 2022, you can't tell them to piss off without enraging all the killer mains.
Or just fake a grab then go for unhook...tada...or don't go for unhook at all
-
@CharlieChatBox said:

I felt that 1 slowdown was not reliable, since I also count Thana a slowdown, or Ruin down in 1min. I just want to see the difference between non slowdown and firm slowdown.
Note that I dont count DC, suicide. So the 62% was pure kill
Alright, makes sense, I'm just thinking if it's something like corrupt and you can start a chase fast, it's a pretty big game changer, but that's just me
-
@C3Tooth said:
I tracked my 150 games as survivor. Killers with 0 slowdown have 40% kill rate. With 2 or more slowdown have 62% kill rate.

That's what you do at a brain storming event: just throw everything at the table and go wild and imagine things and sometimes you stumble over a really cool, wacky idea that could just work.
Yeah, a relit Ruin would suck in today's meta, but if the killer had hooked everyone twice without killing someone to get it? By that point everyone probably had an awesome game and the survivors were working on their last gen.
But anyways, relit Hexes were just one wild idea, but in general I think that this "Devour Hope"-esque mechanic could work, BHVR would just have to decide on the bonuses and rewards.
Oh yeah, no doubt if it was a somewhat heavy requirement, it would be a very fun implementation, but you'll always have... those people, lol
-
@Akumakaji said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2844486#Comment_2844486
Give killers a Devour Hope like effect as base line. Obviously not Devour Hope, but something like "gain an Entity token each time you are 32m away when a survivor gets unhooked", and then each token gives something, like 2 or 3% gen repair speed reduction, or whatever. It needs to be an effect that rewards the killer for playing like most of us want to play, without shooting yourself in the foot.
Normally, when you run away from a hook and ignore it (Devour Hope style), then you get punishes by the survivors who stick to the gens. Tunneling one player out and turning the game into a 3v1 asap is so prolific because you just can't keep up with 4 healthy survivors, unless something goes awefully wrong.
So gen regression, maybe even a few instant percentages instant loss might be a possibility. Or showing some auras if you get your third Entity token.
Or maybe relight a cleansed Hex totem? Imagine how the dynamic of a trial would change if you suddenly regained a Ruin at the last gen and could meaningfully defend your 3 gen as a reward for not tunneling.
Sorry to say it, but then survivors would just complain about the killer playing fair if you got ruin re lit, lol

You don't have to. When MMR works it ends up matching you at a level where you can get 4Ks on some games without camping or tunneling. You can't expect 4Ks on every game but you will get a healthy amount.
The design flaw is that requires that the killer player be willing to accept that they will lose games they could have won otherwise in a PvP game and also accept that toxic teabaggers will leave the exit gates when they could have been killed otherwise. Many can't accept that and they shouldn't have to accept that in a PvP game.
I say change the balance. Nerf camping. Nerf gen speeds. Free the Nerfs! Both have to be nerfed at the same time though.
See there's the key sentence "When MMR works" lol, not trying to come off rude, just saying

You don't have to, you want to.
Like I said you're getting a 4k on camping and tunneling you're rising the kill rate on that killer to the Devs that killer is not weak but instead strong.
So why buff killers if they are getting 4k?
Uh...no, I'm pretty sure you have to, talk to the gen speeds
-

You say killers are weak but the killer stats say different.
If killer players are getting kills from camping and tunneling to get a 4K why buff killers then?
It's the same reason why they won't do anything about the gens. Can't nerf the gens if killers are going to camp.
Because you have to tunnel and camp to get a 4k, most of us don't like it though

I'm seeing this trend of "She isn't strong enough" like do some of you only play killers who are solid A tier+?
Is there something wrong with having killers who aren't immediately incredibly powerful/broken and people being excited for a character just because they like them and want to play as them regardless of their power level
And is there something wrong with not wanting another C tier killer that's gonna sit at the bottom for like a year until the devs actually glance at her again?

Doctor is infinitely better than Onryo though. He has an anti-loop, a locator and a passive slowdown that actually works. The only thing that holds him back is the latency issues with his power and an overreliance on addons. If you wanted to use Doctor as a metric for balancing Onryo, she needs a gigantic honking buff to nearly every aspect of her kit.
To the second, I disagree - I think that all killers should be strong. Not Nurse or Blight level, but at least Demo level.
To me, Demogorgon is the gold standard of killer balance Not too strong, not too weak. And comparing Demo to Onryo is like comparing a Dodge Journey to a Dodge Nitro. One is a perfectly fine midrange van, one isn't.
Eh, demo is kinda underwhelming imo, i don't think he should be the standard of "balanced" I don't know who should, but I don't think it should be demo

Entirely depends.
If you get a flashlight save and the following chase goes on to win you the game, yes.
If you cannot get a save and waste 50 seconds+ every chase just waiting for the save only to go down because the killer knows you're there and has a brain, no. In fact you've probably thrown the game.
True, makes sense

Maps and Keys at least don't encourage survivors to not be doing the objective so there's that
But flashlights still give better value, no?
-
@Sweet_Potato said:
I agree. Flashlights are most useless items in the game just making people fail at stupid plays instead of doing gens.
Medkits and toolboxes are the real power.
So... I'm assuming you forgot about maps and keys with how useless those are? Lol
-
@Mechanix82 said:
I think its unfair that killers can turn when they pick up. I think Killers should only be able to pick a survivor up pointing towards then head of the survivor so we can have a better chance at flashlight saves!
So... once a killer picks up a survivor, his head is locked in place, so he's not allowed to look for a hook, he can only go to the hook on the other side of the map because that's the only one he sees?
-
