    Wait what?

Killers didnt have like 5/6 basekit buff recently? And longer gens?

Survs didnt get most meta perks destroyed?

Are you even playing this game?

They did also nerf a few killer slowdown perks, thankfully they didn't touch my lightborn, lol

Forget about ever getting a good patch. If you ever get one, it won't last long. Don't even go to the forums anymore, don't waste your energy typing how this new patch is unfair or whatever. All survivors have to do is whine about it and the devs will say " I gotchu Homie"

When survivors take ages to find lobbies becomes more frequent, the survivors and devs will still be oblivious and wonder what the reason is because they will always tell themselves, killers are balanced so why wouldn't anyone play killer?

This thread will definitely filled will survivors saying, Ahh baby killer boo. Go cry leave the game. Who cares and stuff like that. But to all the killer mains just know that there are better games out there. Go find what suits you. If you think about it, this game is so repetitive. I guess you could try survivor but just holding m1 for 1-7 mins is not worth your time.

I wont be on the threads as much or at all cause it's a waste of time.

Anyways to all the killer mains... Have a good day.

I mean, they literally just nerfed reassurance

  • @Karth said:

Why do you guys all of a sudden started (proxy)camping and tunneling so much more during the latest patch? Is it strategy? Is it easy? Is it fun?

I just try to understand why, I never tunnel when I'm playing killer and I cannot complain at my killrates at all.

EDIT: cept for those annoying clicky clickys that just ask for it to get tunneled out of the game

Wow, how did I guess this would be the topic

You would be funny to laugh at if it would not be so sad how you show your lack of skill in this game with every post.

You focus on one point and ignore that they made two upcoming Survivor Perks pointless in the next Update AND reduced the number of Pallets on the new RPD-Maps.

I really don't think survivors needed 200 pallets on one map, seems a bit overkill

Eh...the issue is that the game is heading towards a position where it's balanced around SWFs - and there's no realistic way for solo survivors to coordinate or share information like an SWF can do.

Hell, even perk selection - far too often you get 3 people running Kindred.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3145783#Comment_3145783

    I think they'd help slightly.

The issue is that just because people have the information doesn't mean they will actually cooperate.

    You can't force coordination.

Well, coordination, yeah, that's something solo will never have

It is not 100% but if you know where the survivors are (lethal pursuer) when it spawns you can find the box. It spawns basically in the area where both Pinhead and the survivors are not. There is an Otzdarva video on finding the box on YT.

So is there a way to find it decently at the start if the survivors bring the shroud of union?

  • @sulaiman said:

Which perk? Even if you bring Boon:CoH, your random teammates just cleanse totems, especially if there is a challenge (as there is).

Also, it becomes more common for teammates not to heal you, because they want to run for an unhook, chase the killer with a flashlight or whatever (even after you healed them).

Also, one medkit for one heal does nothing, especially with sloppy, if the healing is disrupted in any way.

so again, which perk do you suggest to get reliably healed?

(to clarify, i use CoH since the nerf, thats why i know how many people disable it in your games. Sometimes even the killer runs the bone-crushing perk)

Inner healing, gets rid of bones, and even with travel time to a locker, still faster than self care, and doesn't need another perk to be viable

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342314/people-still-running-self-care-without-botany

It's a solo queue thing, you generally can't rely on your teammates to do anything.

How about inner healing then? Even with the cleansing, still faster, and ignores sloopy

  • @Game4Fun said:

When you play killer main you are expecting a challenge of four survivors against one killer and it's crazy how they keep nerfing all these good perks because "KILLER MAINS" always crying about how op survivors' perks are but of course we don't talk about how killers got perks that block windows, gens, pallets, exit gates, and also have perks that stop you from healing teammates now that's OP

They literally just nerfed thana because of survivor complaints

  • @Dead_Harder said:

Uh... what? I play dbd with my cousin nearly every night. We discuss the lack of little people in video games regularly. Im sorry that offends you and everyone else. So I shouldn't mention that because it offends people? That is sad.

Idk, I feel like they all have to be the same height, because a smaller person would probably have an easier time hiding from the killer, because their crouch would be very small

    My guess at least

You‘re the same guy calling Reassurance OP and whining that thana got (rightfully) nerfed.

You just suck at the game and can’t even handle the slightest bit of a challenge. The entitlement is real.

I mean, thana didn't get rightfully nerfed, in fact it just shouldn't have been touched in general, it was a fair and balanced perk on most killer, while being a bit too oppressive on like 2 killers that no one sees anyways

  • @Cameragosha said:

In case anybody is curious, Otz just posted his updated killer tier list. While I don't literally agree with 100% of what Otz says all the time his positions are always well articulated and generally worth at least a listen. (Although at almost two hours long it's something I personally just listen to the items I'm mainly interested in versus the entire episode all at once.)

Anyway this new one includes his thoughts on Wesker. Here's the video and a breakdown of the timestamps. Per his introduction this is how effective he feels the killers are played normally against average to high MMR survivors using typical add-ons and random maps.

    https://youtu.be/whmrILaplk8

    S Tier
    A+ Tier
    A Tier
    B Tier
    C Tier
    D Tier

    --

I think my own list would be kind of similar to this with some of the killers moved up or down a rank. Just going through it off-hand from bottom to top

    • I think Onryo should be C Tier with Wraith. He seemed to be discounting her partly because of limitations of Stealth against really good survivors, but the survivor bracket he's talking about (average to high) is actually still somewhat susceptible to stealth attacks and this is also evidenced by her slightly above average kill rates on aggregate sites which track that level of player. She's weaker than Dredge though so still not great, I think C tier is the call.
    • Pig probably belongs in B Tier currently. Again, she has very solid stealth and that is a useful asset in the average brackets we're talking about. Also the change to her boxes a couple of months ago seems to have helped her and her kill rates are quite high currently. (And historically she's been one of the highest kill rate killers in the overall brackets of all matches against all players as well, again because stealth is an ability that is most useful against average players.) Given that change and her statistically high kill rates I would put her in B, not C.
    • Trickster is probably a bit high, I would put him in D Tier instead of C. Even Otz in his discussion of Trickster spends a good chunk of it listing in gruesome detail all the problems Trickster has (slow movement, the potential to waste his power if he can't secure a damage state from the daggers, an ultimate triggered ability that is way too tricky to use properly) before getting into what he likes about Trickster which is, if a survivor is in the open, he has the potential to get a quick down. He then loosely compares Trickster to Bubba in how a survivor in the open can be downed quickly, but frankly Trickster is no Bubba. And statistically Trickster always has among the lowest kill rates on both the dev charts and the aggregate site I follow. He really belongs in the bottom tier in my opinion.
    • I personally put Dredge in A tier versus B simply because its map mobility is so strong and long periods of solid stealth are also useful against average survivors. Again, the problems it suffers in terms of the effectiveness of stealth are more at the really high end of the survivor pool versus the average to above average end. And while its anti-loop isn't great it's still something that can get a hit now and then. If its Remnant plays were better I might have put it in A+ but as is A seems the right spot. (And statistically Dredge is quite high in the kill stats as well.)
    • I like Twins well enough but I would put them in B tier instead of A. Victor has good map mobility and a touch of stealth, which is great, but ultimately his lunge is so finicky when it comes to hitting survivors using obstacles for cover and the swap time between him and Charlotte just feels a touch too slow for its own good that I just can't see myself putting them in A tier while those issues are present. And Twins generally have low kill rates at the average brackets as well. At the highest end apparently Twins can be really ruthless, but since this list is about average to above average players I can't see Twins quite making it to A Tier.

I think I'd probably leave the rest of the killers in their current brackets. I could MAYBE see Doctor being B tier? 🤷‍♂️ But he does seem less effective nowadays so high C tier is probably ok.

Eh, I wouldn't put trapper at very bottom, a good trapper can be a menace, just when you think his trap was over there BOOM it was right underneath you, I'd definitely put him above onyro if nothing else

  • Playing the game is ruining the game* lol

"this map sucked for killer" "This map is too big" really? Suddenly all the other big open maps aren't OP then? Yall just making excuses, ive always had a fine time on survivor or killer for this map. Every person i see complain about it, takes about 1% effort to challenge themselves, IT HAS TO BE EASY. It's pretty old at this point, the maps prob gonna disappear eventually like ST did too so and then ill be even more disappointed

The real question is what did i just read tbh

No one likes in door maps to begin with

  • @RavenBirb said:

Congrats your unneeded baseless complaints on why RPD is too big got answered so yall can have a fun boring OP time on survivor like always. This was my favorite map because it replicated the game and was perfect for me.

Whoever complains about it being too big is a giant noob and doesn't take anytime to learn anything new or take on a challenge. Survivor always has to be the easy role and it shouldn't

Sorry, I didn't know 3 floors was an amazing addition to the game

I just had a match with a Wraith with the bell clapper I think that's the name the one where the bell ring is all over the map simple okay I get how it works but not when their constantly doing it I get the ring is a warning for survivors but it's annoying when Wraith is constantly doing it got annoying to the point I turned my volume all the way down and thought he should have a limit to how many times he could that without clocking or unclocking like Bubba with his chainsaw he has a limit before he is stunned because just stop him from constantly ringing I just got annoyed I get it's a match and it'll be over at one point but it's annoying to hear like flashlight clicking.

There's a difference between annoyance and giving someone a fecking seizure

Some players go out of their way to just be the biggest ######### possible - queueing with their friends and teabagging all game long is weirdly contended as "okay". But there's no way that communicating like this in end-game chat should be tolerated by any serious devs or even communiity. Or are they likely already banned and playing on hacked alts with their private "60 hour" accounts?

Yes I've sadly had to censor the names, I've been in trouble with the forum mods for not before. Which I still think is dumb, but that's another matter (honestly, people should be given the tools to avoid being exposed to people like this).

I mean, you're just giving him the satisfaction by chatting him up, just say gg and leave

  • @My_Aespa said:

It works, and I've had a lot of matches recently where no one brings boon and no one will heal me off hook. Why all the hate? Post-game chats are aimed at me when we lose ONLY because I run it apparently, nothing else ruined the game for them. "Wow... you ran self care? No wonder we lost...". Really? Self care actually saved my life more games than not, are people just too proud now to use it? Yeah it's slow to use, but it's more reliable than my teammates sometimes.

... because you're wasting half a gens time to heal one health states when you could've done 3 normal health states

  • @gatsby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3141791#Comment_3141791

My comparison was that PRIOR to the mid-chapter, Killers wouldn’t often hit Survivors off hook because BT was powerful enough that they weren’t willing to take the risk (especially when old Dead Hard could be used while deep wounded).

If Reassurance is strong enough and widely used, gradually Killers won’t camp anymore because they assume people have the perk. Plus the perk will still get some value if you can make ur chase “drive by” a hooked Survivor to get the usage.

Oh, gotcha, yeah I didn't realize how it worked at first, I thought you always had to be within the 6 meters proximity

  • @Carth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3141740#Comment_3141740

If you cannot find a vault/pallet in 15 seconds something is horribly wrong.

Oh yeah, ik, but like, I was more so comparing BT's 15 to reassurances 30 seconds minimum, lots more value from that perk than BT

  • @Biscuits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3141052#Comment_3141052

Play a kick build with wraith with the addon that lets you see which gens they are working on. Every single time I have done it since patch someone has given up. It is to the point that killers can afk at a 3 gen and only play the last 5 minutes and come out on top right now. Something needs to be done about stacking regression perks and 3 gens.

There are two types of killers right now. The first stacks regression perks and the second tunnels.

Or just run double shadow dance, brutal, iron maiden, bamboozle, and another perk and just watch how fast Wraith smashes, opens, and vaults, SOO funny, lol

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3141740#Comment_3141740

No, it does not depend on their hook looping ability. You can just leave the hook. It is an instant activation. You do not physically have to be there the entire time, fam.

Oh, actually? I didn't know that, I thought this entire time they had to stay in the 6 meters range, I guess if they want to use it multiple times they gotta stay close to the hook though

  • @gatsby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3141740#Comment_3141740

Camping implies the Killer won’t be chasing other Survivors. So the Killer is committing to looping around the hook area with reassurance that means there will be an opening for the save.

If the Killer has to leave hook to chase away reassurance users, the perk is doing its job pretty well.

I mean, 6 meters isn't much, it's not like you can distract the killer from seeing survivor #3 coming your way

And anyways, 3 survivors not on gens? What does the killer have to worry about at that point

  • @gatsby said:

Having a way for teammates to extend the hook timer if a Survivor is being camped will essentially eliminate the camping play-style.

Reassurance will essentially fill the role that BT used to fill prior to the mid-chapter update. A perk that can get big value if at least one to two Survivors bring and use it well to the point where it changes the flow of the match.

I don't think that's a fair comparison, very easy way to counter BT...wait 15 seconds, the reassurance value depends on the survivor and how long they can loop around that particular hook

  • @skylerbound said:

I’m definitely not saying it’s a good or healthy thing… but if I see a free base game character with no prestige.. I dodge.

  • @PBsamichShoe said:

So a completely useless perk is what killer main consider balanced. Big surprise.

  • @Shaped said:

    What is your pick?

For me, surv woo, killer agi.

Also you can't use any other perk ever.

    Surv kindred killer lightborn

  • And that's wrong because? It's no more wrong than a survivor waiting at a gate to tbag

  • @lachenstars said:

Do people think that having 2 people in lockers next to each other with flashlights should have any counterplay? I can hear you say, "just leave." But would it count as holding the Killer hostage (until their batteries run out) if they never progress the game? The whole team is just t-bagging just out of reach. It's incredibly stupid and easy to do. Some Killers like Trapper could outplay it, but not all. Assuming decent survivors can make it to lockers, it feels like the Killer is not a threat whatsoever. Not because of skill, but because of an (debatable) exploitable situation.

I know bully squads often don't all escape. I don't care that it's rare. I don't care that you probably could win by going elsewhere. That's not the point. They succeed in bullying, or are simply untouchable and you have to leave. In that moment, they win because there is no counterplay. I don't think that's a good thing.

What could a solution be? Maybe you can no longer jump out of a locker you have been in for 10 seconds. Like how Head On deactivates. Just curious what people think. Jerks will always be jerks, we'll move on because it's just a game.

    Counterplay uh....did someone say lightborn

Yeah yeah I can already hear everyone "I shouldn't need a perk to counter a tech" and idk what to tell you, mostly because I never take this perk off, freaking hilarious reactions all the time, too worth it

If they Devs made it base game it would be the same thing, the killer would know what's happening. Survivors just hang around the hook until the killer leaves and chases the survivor doing gens.

So stay and lose pressure or leave and lose pressure. Win Win right?

I mean, you're not really losing pressure because that's 2/4 survivors not on gens

If you have a team that can carry you and a not so good killer, yes you can tour the map and cleanse all 5 totems. If there is a weak link and the killer is good, no way in hell you’re cleansing all 5 totems without throwing the game

Meh, even the weakest link knows how to hold a button, so they do a gen, you find bones, considering you have small game or s similar

  • @Reinami said:

If instead of going for kills, you just go for hooking each survivor twice, then just keep slugging them. The following will happen:

    • You'll easily get over 35k bloodpoints
    • Your MMR will go down, resulting in easier matches next time.
    • The survivors will be less salty because they all escaped.
    • You'll still 1 pip most of the time except for maybe in iridescent ranks (for those you can just tryhard a few games to get rank 1, then go back to the same.

Why should i kill survivors again?

I still need the steam achievement though, so I'll have him in my rotation for a bit still.

Watch out though, I'm currently running Haunted Grounds, Devour, Undying, and Retribution on him. So beware if you see all them totems lit up 0_0

Yes. There's no way have the ability to hold a survivor alive on the hook indefinitely will stay. Not only is it a possible griefing tool, but I don't see it as healthy either since a basekit pause the hook progress was tested years ago and removed for being abused by survivors. This is just that with extra steps.

I think the devs forgot that more than 1 survivor can use reassurance.

If it didn't stack with another survivor, there'd be nothing "griefing" about it, the only reason it'd be griefing is if you wanted out of the game with no DC penalty, this way you either suck it up or take a penalty, which works for me
