I want to add to the earlier replies, that TTV is a sign for toxity, too. Some use this in their name without streaming only bc they want to have a toxic username.
So others who play against them, start to associate ttv with toxic behaviour. I dont know how it started but there are some toxic streamer.
So most players had atleast one annoying match with a ttv.
-
Swf groups are mostly altruistic. For example when you fake tunneling, others will give you a free hit. When you can identify their weak link you can use it, to pressure the whole team.
When there is someone cocky, you can ignore them. Mostly they waste time doing nothing and make mistakes bc they dont see you as a threat.
But you shouldnt underestimate what good solo players can do. There are many killer who think solos are an swf. In my last match i had a sabo build for a challenge. Atleast two were solo, maybe a 2man swf, and we were so coordinated that we could get three wiggle escapes against a red rank killer. And gens were flying.

I don't blame killer.
I blame BHVR.
Killers are better at stealth than survivors are.... in a game which is supposed to be hide and seek with the killer being it and the survivors hiding!
And thats the problem. The game is not hide and seek. Otherwise pallets make zero sense.
-
Why? They are too weak and almost nobody would run them anymore.

Yeah that's why hatchets don't work with infectious- oh wait they do. Infectious works with literally EVERY KILLER ACTION that sends someone into the dying state (even lockers because yeah that makes sense) but surge, Knockout, gearhead etc require basic attacks because "cOnSiStEnCy"
I'm just sad, man. Weird excuses for decisions like this is holding so many things back in this game from being fun and interesting.
You should better keep quiet about this. I heard they wanted to add a cooldown to infectious. It wouldnt surprise me when they would rework infectious and give it the basic attack requirement, too.
-
I used to run:
BBQ, Nurses, Sloppy, Thana
But imo survivor adapted to it. They do gens fast, heal with good medkits or stay injured and reach good pallets.
I have now two builds which im testing:
Ruin, undying, sloppy, nurses
and:
Thrilling, Pop, MYC, Dragons grip
Both new builds work good, but the second build feels better. There is no totem rng and its more fun. Waiting near a gen with dragons grip after you used pop is effective and makes survivot hesitant to tap the gen the next time.
And i run usually yellow windstorm and bone clapper
-
No but some perks affect the obsession. For some you need to hit the obsession, for others you must ignore the obsession etc.
-
I dont see killer mopping the floor. Im currently rank 4 and since this patch im getting better teammates. Some of them are really good loopers, but the important thing is that everyone does gens. When the killer needs a minute to down someone, 3 gens are done. Many killer get 2 downs in a match, some dc.
-
Bc they are not online to play the game. They are online to finish the rift.

Because I just wanted to voice an opinion and rough idea? Of course, I have had people not doing gens all game, but it doesn't happen every game.
I agree with the 3k part.
It was only an answer to your question with a rhetorical question. No ill intent.

Since I started playing the game 4 years ago yea
Then why are you asking this question? Never had some people throwing the game bc they dont want to do gens?
But i personally have nothing against more people who try to win. But the game is not balanced around that. And then we have the matchmaking. And the bad ranking system.
And it should be 3k. The killer shouldnt be forced to slug.

Did you play solo survivor once?

None.

Basement trapper already exists and so does hag.
I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to start with all of his traps.
The basement isnt even really that problem. When the killer gets someone in the basement, he should have an advantage from that. But you can make many hooks a nightmare when you have all traps around it.
Its certainly is not the optimal playstyle, but its not the optimal playstyle to use every hag trap around a hook. But people still do that.
I would prefer when the trapper would have a mechanic to get traps from a distance. It would make him more versatile, too.

Didnt the devs say that they would change dead hard. So you should wait for this change and use the time to complain about sprintboost. Bc i bet that people will complain about it anyway when dead hard is nerfed. So you can start a few months in advance.

yeah but what happens if the killer shows up at 20th second of exhaustion left?. I understand 99% exhaustion sprint burst trick, its just that... its not reliable and the reward is what dead hard already does anyway.
No perk is perfect. I need to make my guess and manage it like that. Is the killer chasing someone, when will he patrol this gen.
But dead hard has some weaknesses too. I cant repair a gen in a deadzone when im injured, no protection against one-shots, exhaustion addons are hardcounter, etc.
Overall i think sprintboost is stronger. So i changed after two years with dead hard to sprintboost.

what your missing is that survivor is not just about wasting most total-time. Its about waste the most CRITICAL total time. If 3 survivors on a generators and your chase lasts 30-60 extra seconds. that's 30-60 extra seconds on all 3 generators. The other thing that people fail realize about dead hard is that it creates psychology that your able to down someone when there was no chance for you to ever get down in safe loop design.
This is in part why other exhaustion perks are not used as much on good loopers. Dead hard attracts commitment on the killer. The other exhaustion perks such as Sprint burst/Lithe/Head on DIVERT ATTENTION away from the killer. they make you not a juicy target. I mean often killers not chase you if your 20 seconds away from them and you sprint burst, but if you wait for them to approach, you could just been running to a loop instead of walking, so the perk wasn't effective. Dead hard hits hardest when it works and its easiest trigger condition to fulfill. Only old balance landing was really comparable to it. SB was mostly only used when exhaustion was recoverable while running because it was so spammable.
Sprintboost needs exhaustion management, but its not that hard to use midchase. So while i agree with you that the activation makes lithe and balance weaker, this doesnt apply to sprintboost.
Sprintboost is in my opinion the harder to use but better version of dead hard. For example i waste my sprintboost while repairing so i have after gen completion 10sec exhaustion left.

By that I mean the UI, animations, gameplay loop and core game systems in general. I understand adding new chapters is fine but all the map overhauls, cosmetic and item updates is not only fundamentally changing how the game looks but soon I fear we will be in an oldschool Runescape/WOW situation where half the fanbase will want to play an older build of the game and I feel the Animation/UI change was the straw that broke the camels back. There's an old proverb that generally goes "When you replace enough boards on a ship is it really the same ship?" When you start redoing cosmetics, maps, animations, ui is it really the same Dead By Daylight we've been playing since 2016?
The ship thing is a philosophic experiment. And most philosopher come to the result that it is still the same ship. And i would say its still the same game, too. Today most games are changing. A graphical update is more visible, so the change seems more drastic and you notice it more. But when you would compare DbD 2018 with DbD 2016 then you would see that the game changed drastically even before the things you mentioned.
And this development of the game is good, its easy to be nostalgic, but when we are honest: DbD 2016 had many issues, its good that it got changed.
-
Dead hard can be a free health state. Under the right conditions.
But what is with sprintboost? When you use it right, you get a speedboost like from a hit. You dont need to be injured. It counters dead zones, where dead hard is useless. Sprintboost is harder to use, but its stronger.
Lithe and balance can extend a chase, too, but the activation conditions make them weaker rhen dh and sb. But someone with them can still use the speedboost in a straight line and holding w. How much time does that waste without using a loop?
I think the basic problem with chase perks is that loops are too strong. You cant afford as killer to lose so much time bc of a perk when you need a lot of time for the standards two hits in a chase.
-
Simple. I dont care. When i get hit, i think to myself: Damn, that should have never hit. And then i continue the game and forget it.

That's why I'm saying we need a feature that will help both sides, not just one. Some new mechanic to prevent the games where gens are done too fast but possibly in a way that won't buff the equivalent of that happening to a survivor through hard camping/slugging.
We just need a mechanic that rewards the killer to hook different survivor. So that killing one survivor early isnt the best strategy anymore. Then you could nerf tunneling and camping.
But this wouldnt fix the problem that some survivor just ignore gens. They ignore gens even at the start when the killer has no pressure.

Huntress is hard on console because there's no crosshair, so it's hard to judge where the "middle" of your screen is, so I end up hitting trees and obstacles all the time. Trying to judge the arc on longer throws is also hard.
Demogorgan's shred is fairly easy to hit for me because you don't have to be as precise. He has a pretty wide "grab" area that hits survivors. The hardest thing with him is trying to judge how much to charge the shred because it affects distance. Victor is alright to use as he also has a pretty big "grab" area and I end up grabbing survivors I probably should've missed. Blight I haven't played yet so I can't comment there
The missing crosshair doesnt affect me so much. Bc of it i cant do the clean shots when you need to hit a gap perfectly, but mostly im fine.
With demos shred i cant hit someone before me reliable to safe STBFL-stacks. So using shred is always risky for me.

@Volfgang57 said:
Pyramid Head and Huntress. Unless you're in an enclosed map or just go against dumb survivors it's near impossible to get people to run into your trails. And I play on console, so Huntress is impossible to aim accurately
@Karao_Ke said:
Huntress is pure misery served on a platter, given I play on console. My hatchets almost never hit & even if I throw the game just to get my daily by only using them, I'll probably still end up having to queue up for another game to complete it because I'm a-w-f-u-l.
Don't even get me started on Billy, my god. By far one of the most infuriating killers to play & I don't remember the last time I even dared to click on him.
Interesting. I know that huntress is harder on console, but i dont struggle that much with her. I have a lot more trouble with demos shred, victor and blight.

I mean it makes sense to add many pallets, bc the map has only two? windows. So it was not the worst design idea. And so i can understand how this map got created. But how can they test this map and nobody realizes how save this pallets are?
Is there not one single person in this whole process who understands what makes a pallet safe? Its not even about a god survivor can run this pallet perfectly and is untouchable. A monkey could press one button and the killer is powerless.
So this cant be. They must know that the killer must break it. I guess most survivors can not find the pallets or die without reaching them. I mean when the data says that the map was killersided before they are right. There were many safe pallets before the rework. So it makes sense to add more to make the map more balanced.
-
Nobody knows. You have good matchmaking for dbd standards when you play as purple against red. And survivor have it harder to rank up as killer right now.
-
Its a strategy. I dont use it bc it only works on people who get triggered from teabags. And they probably get triggered bc they got bullied and associate teabagging with that. So i dont want to abuse the fact that i can make someone feel miserable to win.

I get the same amount of red rank killer. Im now rank 6 and i see no difference to rank 1.

it's not great when the reason you're finding fast lobbies is because you'll get hit from 10 meters away and the emblems are broken and will make you depip just because
I prefer faster lobbies. I dont care about pips and i can still loop killer. I get weird hits, but its not unplayable.

I don't want to be rude but can you guys form your own opinions without quoting popular streamers all the time? I swear it almost sounds like a cult.
I am enjoying solo surv even with the flaws and I don't mind people playing how they want. It is a team game but you can still progress when you know what you are doing. Yeah you won't escape all the time but pipping is not hard at all when you understand emblems and what you need to do for points.
Blaming others all the time is pathetic. I was like that too. Now I don't judge others unless they are straight up toxic.
He just posted a guide. It has nothing to do with opinions.
-
Its not a good idea to have op stuff, which is expensive. It just widens the gap between new and experienced player and its still annoying when you have to deal with this stuff.
A market is not a bad idea, i think dbd mobile has something similar. But i think its more important to give players the oppurtunity to buy perks directly. So they need to use more bloodpoints, but can decide which perk they get.
-
So i see more nerf DH threads.
I played a long time with dead hard and switched recently to sprintboost.
First OP is wrong when he thinks that dodging a hit is even close to useful most of the time. Macro or whatever doesnt matter. When you near enough to the survivor you can lunge and hit him at the end of his dead hard.
Dead hard is mostly about gaining distance. This is so strong bc there are many good loops, reaching one of this loops extends a chase a lot. If the loops were weaker the time loss against dead hard, wouldnt be so crucial for the killer.
Gaining distance has another strong effect. There are many mindgames for the survivor with high risk/high reward. When the killer falls for it, the survivor gains a lot of time, when not the survivor is down. But when the survivor has dead hard there is no risk, so the survivor tries this mindgames more often.
But i switched not to sprintboost bc i think dh is too op, i think sprintboost is stronger.
-
Im really wondering why only a few killer switched to enduring.
-
There is more than one path. So you can access all challenges without claiming all. But you cant avoid claiming completely.
-
I get some weird hits, too, but dont you all overreact? I still have no problems as survivor. When i lose, then bc my teammates play bad as usual. But i still have matches where the killer gets demolished.

I used to get messages like that all the time, even from other survivors who are salty for whatever reason. My advice, block messages aside from the ones coming from friends. That is what I ended up doing and it's been great. Not more toxic messages from stupid people. Also, it helps you not send those messages to others, because trust me, there will be a point where you will want to. And replying to the nasty messages might be a bad idea. I have a friend who got one of those killing him this and that and he replied with something like "Shut up you moron".
The next day he got a message from PS telling him he had a warning because he had insulted another player. This, when my friend was the one insulted first. So, be careful if you reply to these messages.
Yh you need to watch out. I had one guy insulting me in spanish and i replied that i know that it means that. We both got a warning from Sony.
-
Come on. I dont agree in the slightest with your message. But its ok, when you want to say it. But why do you use this annoying font? Whats the purpose?
-
No, the balance in the game is hard enough. The game couldnt handle it.
-
Not a bad idea. But i think the sacrificial ward is a better solution. With your solution there would be a lot of new offerings in the bloodweb and its currently hard enough to get the thing what you want in the bloodweb.

Safe pallets are a thing on every single map. Most pallets in haddonfield are on the weaker side, and they tend to have quite a bit of space between eachother.
Balconies are weaker than regular windows, in most maps you just vault and gain distance but here you have to take a fall as well (compare to badham or groaning storehouse). Additionally they're not safe against ranged killers, and can be trapped to block them completely.
The house of pain is, well pain. Often you just don't go to the house because it really isn't worth your time, because your killer's ability doesn't help with it
The balconie on the main house is not weaker as regular windows, bc it forces the killer to vault. He cant walk around it.

The rankings are not good at all! Especially when it resets, I spent the entire last month 11-13. I got reset to 17. How does that make sense? I spent the month before at 12 or 13 and was reset to 13. Not sure why my ranking dropped so much. Also, since the last update I noticed one match I had a -1 but dropped -3. Another match I had 0 and it gave me -1. How is that good? Need to fix this! Monthly ranking resets suck!
I think you always get reset to the next color. Dont worry. With the mmr-system you will always start at Rank 20. But i dont know when its available. Dont care about ranks.

Hi,
I'm a long time Dbd player, more likely a survivor player, and honestly since the update it is so hard to rank not because I don't know how play, but because the randoms don't know how to play. I'm rank 5 since de reset and I just made a 15 minute chasse with a nurse and we were 2. During this time the randoms was just hiding. I did a 19 000 point (+6000 cause of the event) game and all I got is -1.

No mither and blood orbs are intended. I think it got tested and they decided not to add it.

Oh, I didn't know he can manually cut it off. I've played as him before but I didn't enjoy it. Which is sad having as many hours on the game as I do. :D
Does it consume a charge each swing? I've just never really noticed that dramatic of a difference if other people have done it but what you're saying would definitely make the most sense.
Roughly 3-4 swings per charge, but addons can change it.
