notice I did not mention DS, BT, am sure self care(claudio perk) is not meta if anything, people poo over people who does it, iron will am shock really that you think everyone runs it nope you still have people who dont use it use loud groaning chars and easy is then punished by spirits, flash bang, alot of what I see people still prefer a flash light over it because killer can simply look up and avoid the blast, where as flash light its abit rougher cause they even if they look up the survivor can aim it up too. So far believe it or not there is not even alot of mikaelas to me and when I get the usual cast with no mikaela, them survivors tend to run the metas, am like maybe the wierdo who using only flash bang with mikaela perk on my leon and I have the 3 looking at me like uh, your using mika perks?
Let me ask and ofc not to be a prick, what is more annoying running boon perks from mikaela or honestly what is claim meta bt/iw/ds/dh that people complains much about. It is so confusing on what people want. I can say then boons now are part meta play so we toss healing circle and shadow into the mix of listed meta perks?
It is subjective. I do not mind borrowed or unbreakable at all. I used to not mind dead hard either, as hard as that might be to believe. But with hit validation? I hate it more than DS.
For boons, I do not mind circle of healing, but I hate shadow step.
But my opinion is likely not shared by many killers. I have observed that circle of healing is by far perceived to be the more problematic boon. And most killers do not mind DS at all and feel as though it was nerfed into uselessness, I guess?
There will never be a consensus.

At lower mmr where the chill survivors are.
-
I actually see the opposite. I see streamers purposely throwing game while pretending to try in secret hope that their mmr lowers, it is kind of hilarious. I feel bad for them, however, as they have to maintain the illusion that they are skilled and capable of constant 4ks.
Regular players complaining about mmr is sort of weird because you can literally just let all of the survivors and once you get back to where you can play by going for 8 hooks before killing 2. There you go! But let's be real, if it is not a 4k, it will damage their competence needs.

And that's why I despise most of this community. Many people have this mentality "I don't play to win, have fun, I just want to make someone else angry, ruin someone else's fun". That's a very childish, griefing behavior.
As for the main topic, I don't mind NOED that much, I usually do all the totems and NOED hardly ever activates. What I don't like about it still, is that it's so, so cheap - if killer is good, NOED is not needed, if killer is absolute trash, and can't get more than one hit during whole game, it just feels... not really fair that suddenly he gets a free down and possibly even a kill, if he manages to protect the totem.
As for the survivor perks you've mentioned, they are second chances, but during the game and usually won't give you a free escape. It's like, Dead Hard can give you access to window or a pallet, but Bamboozle can disable that window.
Killers complain about survivors, because survivors use perks that help them during interactions with the killer - BT, DH, DS etc. Killers mostly use stuff to defend gens - Corrupt, Ruin etc. and stuff like that is not helping during interactions with survivors.
Yeah, I agree... Ha ha ha... Imagine playing Leatherface just to troll survivors. That would be awful and totally not who I am...

Completely valid reason. I just didn't see it as toxic.
Exactly, it is not toxic, I am just a Mogwai that hates bright lights. It is a bit of a personal problem. You can clicky click all you want and I will not react, but you shine that thing in my sensitive wittle eyes and its going down.

I saw the title of the thread and though you were talking about The Trappers new audio cue, he grunts and moans super loud when he picks up the max amount of traps you can hold.
"Oh, is... is that... two bear traps in my hand?"
"Grrrhhgg"😩
"Awwww"😫
That was my first thought too. And still my answer. It makes me very uncomfortable to hear him bend over. With that tight leather... Just no. Or yes. I don't know!
-
I do not like it. If you do it, you get face camped. Simple as that. And just like flashlights aren't toxic, face camping and hammer smashing your face on hook is not toxic, uwu. Toxicity is about words, not in game mechanics, I have you know!

Up to my neck in work today, but I think I can spare a few seconds to nab it.
Thanks, wouldn't have known otherwise.
A few seconds? My game takes like 3 minutes to load. Rofl. That is why the infinite loading screen was KILLING me. It wasn't so simple to just reset without wasting the day away.
-
It is probably the best perk in the game currently, after they nerfed hex perks by proxy.

Detectives Hunch, Small Game, Maps. Problem solved.
How do maps even work for totems? Whenever I find one, I basically have to already look at the totem for it to mark. What am I doing wrong?

They don't have to stay in the range. All they have to do is get close enough for a split second and it'll pause the timer for 34 seconds.
Oh, really? Well, then it is a win-neutral situation. I am partially glad when someone uses it.

As a killer main I wish my fellow killer players would stop using NOED. It's just a statistic booster because of the pity kills it gives. I'm pretty sure this perk alone gives devs a wrong view about the game's balance. As people said above, you can guarantee a 2k just with facecamp + NOED kill at the end, and this according to MMR was a "balanced" match.
Are you saying my Leatherface experience is not balanced? Shame on you Labrac James.
-
I love it when someone runs that perk to make my victim suffer for a longer time while not doing gens, it is a win-win and I wish more people did it.
-
They made his 4v1 worse with the terror radius change too, now he cannot get that momentum anymore by getting into range before they dip.

Stop complaining about boon totems.
Huh? Why would such a cultured bone doer like myself complain about doing bones when my number one constructive feedback is to do bones? Bones are good calcium and I highly recommend. Doing bones is even more rewarding than doing gens when you pair it with amazing perks like inner strength. Or courage. Or whatever the hell they renamed it to because Stranger Things owns the word strength.
-
Just do bones.
-
Just do every mission you can and you will level up the rift well before the deadline, in my experience. I am very bad at survivor and skip ones that most survivor mains would probably have an easy time doing and have never had any issues. Ideally you need to complete the route to get the bonus fragments. Prioritize the special missions that require certain killers or perks as they give an additional 2 fragments.
I do wish standard games gave more, but this is genuinely one of the more forgiving battle passes I have completed. Just doing your daily killer/survivor should be enough as long as you are doing most of the challenges.

If the most powerful killer needs no nerfs then zero killers in the game need nerfs.
That won't stop them from doing it regardless.

If you like to play Canibal try Trail of Torments on him.
Everybody knows basement camping Bubba. Nobody expects generator camping Bubba, especial on indoor maps.
Couldn't you still just use insidious to camp the gen instead?

@Labrac said:
He's only kind of decent when you make builds focused on the most boring aspect of his power (the box) and his 1v1 power imo feels very unrewarding considering how hard it is.
This is my biggest issue with him. I still need tier 3 hoarder before I can take him seriously.
-
No way in hell, not without some changes to justify that.
-
@Dstorv said:
Gen speeds are fine. The maps size are the real problem.
I more or less agree. The actual speed of the gen is not the inherent reason that gens fly. I feel there are a few different ones and tnat nerfing the speed too much would just make the game even more of a qte simulator for survivors which isn't ideal. I feel they could be increased ever so slightly, but realistically there are other things they could do to address the issue without triggering survivor mains.

Isn't it the player and not the character?
You say that, but I beat people on hook only as Ghostface, Leatherface and technically Plague. I puke on them instead.
I do not do it with any of the other killers I play, really.
-
Yes, it was absolutely necessary. He was too efficient with survivors who wanted to vault against a Slinger despite knowing it was a guaranteed shot. Those 50/50s, man... Brutal.
-
I usually just kill the degenerate as I do not particularly like them.

@notlonely said:
I don't really look at other's perks but I know dead hard and exhaustion in general have an extremely high usage rate. However, you can't just put all players in a sack. For example, I barely use exhaustion perks and I'm sure there's people like me
I didn't use it either, but once I started to, I did A LOT better. And that was before they added survivor validation attributes to it.
-
No, buff them more so I can actually try the style instead of just pretending to.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
For the love of God, just let me break the boon so that I'm rewarded for going out of my way to get rid of them. Dealing with shadow step and circle in a strong building is ridiculous. They shouldn't get free guaranteed value from the perk indefinitely.
I kind of wish they just glowed through walls so the time you spent looking for them was minimal. You can technically achieve that with a Shaman build regardless. But I do not want to run hex perks.
-
If they want to nerf the second stage skill check miss to 3 missed to kill, that would probably be enough. To make it match stage one. Heck, you could even buff slippery meat to give extra attempts at stage 2 for those of us who are skill check impaired.

When people ready up, they're committing to any non-bannable outcome.
Committing is a really strong word when they DC if they do not like your killer, or if they are first downed, or if people do not save them in the first 10 seconds on hook, or if you tunnel them, or if you face camp them, or if you take them to the basement, or if you actually manage to hit validate them, or, you know what, I will stop here. Not because I can't think of more, but because that sentence was getting absurdly long and I think the point was made at the third example all while I was avoiding bringing up slugging because it would have been redundant.

While obnoxious its not really toxic. Getting upset about it and engaging in post game abuse is toxic.
I reckon bleeding out is thematic so it doesn't bother me at all.
Can you believe that someone named "SlugMeX" (the x replaces the real word because I ain't Finna witchunt) got mad at me for slugging them? They actually sent me half a dozen hateful messages just because I honored the request of their user name. How absurd is that? I was trying to be friendly...
-
@Mr_K said:
Survivors would get worse killers too.
It genuinely doesn't matter. There are survivor mains on YouTube who are clearly deranked and they are AMAZING at the game. But you can only do so much once the entire map is a deadzone with 4 gens left and you were the one who did the first gen... And then you get 1 hooked.

DBD support also has ALOT of reports to go through daily, probably because the horde of cheaters dbd is infested with, but it'll eventually be seen and responded to, just give it time

Was it truly calm? Or were you firing your harpoon at survivor mains who wanted him nerfed?

I used BBQ during the fifth anniversary with all the cakes. I am JUST devotion 2 and basically have almost everything for most of the killers. No prestige, however. And Nancy is the only survivors who has perks. The rest are just the base ones. I never got any new ones.
It really does make such a big difference.

I always see these comments and they’re usually upvoted, but they totally miss the mark. It's not even comparable.
Just let them have this. They can only get disgraced by NOED so much and then dismissed until they snap. Just smile and wave, El Gingerino. Smile and wave!

Or, hear me out, they could just get rid of face camping.

Yall keep overestimating the survivor playerbase. Remember the hysteria over counterforce ruining the game forever? Let's see just how common and useful this really ends up being, my killer matches so far have been largely the same just with survivors wasting more time NOT being on gens tryna do their boons which has been great for my pressure game.
I honestly feel like good survivors are the ones to worry about and I am not overestimating them. You are correct that most are kind of bozos and this might help killer more than hurt it in most circumstances. But, the potential is very high. Even if they cannot figure out how to tap into it... Somehow.

I hope I get to face camp your friend before he quits. Would be a nice farewell to his DBD career.

This is so wrong. I don't use an exhaustion perk but if I do, its sprint burst. Which is 10x better and stronger than dead hard. It can be used mid chase, 99d, can be used in any health state and gives you a 3s head start off the hook.
I mean, you can have your preference... But he isn't wrong.
-
Gen rushing wouldn't exist if survivors "learned" how unfun not interacting with the killer was. I know, I know, some of you think gen rushing is just a myth, a legend that doesn't exist. But they are out there, and the last thing they want to do is get the killers attention. Trust.

they just have a bad reputation. If people say "twins all slug" new twins players will slug for the 4k. I've never met a Twins main who intentionally camps or slugs more than any other killer main.
also, good twins players don't slug any more than absolutely necessary, and play the two like a tag team.
Really? You have never met a Twins main the slugs more than say... Your every day Legion? Rofl. You can't have met many Twins mains.

I do love how a lot of players are saying "Oh Boons meta here we come plz nerf!!!!!!!!!!!!!" when this is...So far from the truth.
Survivors will never have new meta perks while things like DH,BT,Unbreakabill,Adren and Iron Will. Survivor meta will never change as long as these perks are as strong as they currently are. Notice how the survivor meta hasnt changed in the past....3-4 years? because the devs know how strong these perks are and will NEVER make perks as strong as these again.
Long run people need to stop being drama queens and actually wait for dust to settle before we can claim things are "OP"
On a side note one of the Boons still crashes the game...Circle of Healing we cant even use it yet.
I mean, they just buffed Dead Hard, so I kind of agree. These perks are objectively as strong as those perks. But why use them when second chances are as effective as they are? There is not much of a compelling reason to do so outside of SWF.
