  • I have mostly just been a survivor main since the event started. I did all of the killer challenges, but I had to suffer through quite a few bugs for them. The past 2 or 3 days, I have been keeping killer to a minimum. I didn't even play it today, actually. Not even for the daily.

  • Not going to lie, it felt a little sus face camping Claudette just for her skin. But at the end of the day, I do not care, I got all my masks. Gg ez baby survivors.

If I see more than one flashlight I'll usually dodge

This, but only if I do not have Lightborn. I love playing against flashlight users as long as I have the blessing of the gods.

  • No, getting into a game is already a herculean task to begin with.

  • I joined because teammates were pissing me off in Overwatch, so useless and despite that they constantly blamed me when often I was the only one actually doing anything at all just because they didn't like my hero choice. And then when I joined Pokemon Unite, it was even worse in terms of how awful the players were. Don't get me wrong, survivor teammates hiding in lockers while you run the killer away from gens and let you die one hook while opening a basement chest are bad, but not even close to the horrors I have witnessed in other games where I am constantly getting 2 or 3 picks and still losing.

But why even deal with survivors when I can just kill them? Alone. And then I found true love with Leatherface. He makes playing around pallets fun instead of frustrating. When I want someone dead, they die. I love it!

  • @cannonballB said:

I'm a both side's-er, but I would like to throw in that, the heavier pallet maps, break the pallets ASAP. Mind you I'm not great, but the thing that I find consistently true is, if they drop all the pallets early and you've kicked em, it's really easy to get downs because they don't have anything to stop you with.

Also, stay away from TL walls. They are cancerous evil.

And from playing survivor: don't drop chase just because you think I'm a good looper because I was able to hop over the shack wall. Give yourself at least a once go-round to see if they make a mistake. If they continuously loop though, yeah, get out. The exception to this is if you need to apply pressure. Oh and if I drag you to a TL wall, go around once and then leave. TL walls are literally the spawn of Satan and Saddam Hussein. Literally.

I hate LT walls unless I have bamboozle. The double vault shenanigans will haunt my nightmares.

  • He is just a stealthy m1 killer. After Pyramid Head, most m1 killers will feel bad.

Everybody but rank 20s knew better than to walk toward the husk. It was well estabilished since a couple of months she had come out. And there was no reading the situation. She was designed to not give out that information. It had nothing to do with ego, which is a strawman argument.

If everyone knew not to do it, why would they do it? And yes, you can read the situation with context. Or maybe I shouldn't say you specifically if you struggled with it, but that mind game was a joke. I never fell for it even as a new player. I could pretty readily tell if she was actually phasing or not based on the context of the situation. Maybe I am just a super genius?

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

Lucky. Mine have been the opposite. Survivors are playing more selfishly too. It's getting fairly common that I can go extra mile all game, and be left to die on my first hook when they Killer isn't even camping.

I actually had a game where we needed one gen. Someone was afk in a locker, the killer was just ignoring all of the pings. The other was just waiting for me to die. I ran them for 5 minutes, lead them to the person hiding, and they still just kept tunneling me until I lost all hope and just stood there. They were fully intending to face camp me too, but I was already killing myself on hook before long.

    You sure?

I'm pretty sure that when ruin is up and say a survivor is downed at the other side of the map, you let go of the gen just before he gets picked up and blocks your gen it still continue to regress.

At least with Deadlock that is the case, maybe Thrilling has different properties. I just assumed all blocked gens acted the same, not entirely sure, however.

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

When a survivor is downed within the range of a gen that is or was worked on, it explodes and starts regressing.

Untill it is touch by a survivor to stop the regresion, it will keep regressing even if the survivor is picked up which activates tremors to block it.

But ruin doesn't work on blocked gens despite regressing them.

I definitely enjoy downing survivors at pallets with Bubba’s chainsaw. They camp the pallet and it ends up costing them the game.

Or better yet, they don't camp the pallet and still go down. I love it when survivors refuse to predrop against him, and with the break speed, I also love it when they predrop.

  • Probably Pinhead to be honest. The reward is not there, but the satisfaction certainly is.

  • If the generator in range isn't blocked.

They nerfed the stand still 'mindgame'. That was the point and reading the dev's update, it's clear that's what they were eyeing.

As for the rest, directional audio is just similar to what she already had ages ago and then when she had bugged moans. It doesn't change her strength on 90% of tiles.

I wouldn't doubt it, they had to preserve the egos of survivors who walked straight at the killer without reading the situations SOMEHOW.

  • Nah, if they didn't want to stay, they could attempt to escape the 3 times and miss the two skill checks and be out of the game, with bloodpoints and no penalty, in the matter of seconds.

They are only abusing DC because the penalty is disabled. Not to avoid matches, but just because they can.

"Maybe I just need to take a break for a while, maybe that's it."

    Advisable, given the above.

The game wont go anywhere, and some time away will drop your MMR a bit too in proportion :D

Seriously though, there seems very little consistency in it, in most brackets. SWF also make a mess of the system.

Upon your return, try to not care about winning/losing too much, or what the toxic SWF do.

Instead set yourself some own goals and achieve those.

Like focus on getting all the T3 items from the Tomes, and focus on those challenges in them. Or getting a character prestige 3 bloody skins.

Also swap from Killer to Survivor everyso often for a breather. Killer is much more stressful than Survivor.

Not all games have mmr decay over time, and based on the anecdotal evidence provided here, this is not one of them. People returning after year long breaks are still high mmr.

    Wihout addons?

It always felt much slower for some reason.

Probably because she stands still for a couple seconds before it starts and nobody holds w against her. Kind of defeats the purpose of the movement speed if you ask me, but whatever, I am not a Spirit player.

  • Personally, fair would be if the time it took to get a down on average was more synced with the time it takes to finish a gen. Doing one hook out of 12 when 3 gens pop in the same time is objectively not fair.

However, I am not sure I want it changed. That is just what fair would actually look like if that was the goal.

It is objectively a terrible map for DbD - for both sides.

It is alright, I prefer being there to MacMillan or Autohaven which is more than every other match on a night where I am actually getting variety.

I keep getting hunteress over & over again with a few wraiths thrown in & even 2 twins games back to back yesterday.

    Not many bubba's.

I use to play Bubba a lot but not so much anymore as too many survivors kept DC'ing right at the start.

Despite the fact i've never camped as Bubba

Salty survivors will be salty. They DC even when you leave the hook. Everyone complains about the face camping, but deep down, they are sad they got rolled by the chainsaw.

  • I do not use 3 default perks for any killer except for Bubba, and I never take off a 4th perk for him. And after I learned how the emblem system works, I will probably never bother.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Maybe you are just bad with Spirit? From what I have seen in Streams, played myself and read on the Forums, she feels around the same.

And even has a new Crutch-Add On.

To be fair, if she feels around the same, was there truly any point to nerfing her so that people that sucked with her couldn't play her anymore? Doubt they were the ones the nerf was directed at...

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I guess it is a Bug and from what I have seen, it only affects Trapper, Wraith and Billy. At least from the Killers I played. Other Killers, even with the same animation (I know I played Plague since the Patch) are fine.

It looks like it sets the PoV on the other side of the Window right at the start, which would also explain why you dont see the Legs. It feels really awful, but only a visual Bug, vaulting itself is the same.

Good to know it is actually the same speed, thank you for that, it makes me feel a little better.

  • @MottledElm said:

Well, I've been playing dvd the entire morning.

There are bugs, like infinite loading screens and people DCing, but saying that the game is unplayable is a stretch.

Well, no. If you have limited time, the infinite loading screen is literally as close to unplayable as servers being down. That is not a stretch.

  • I have no idea, but I hate it, it feels awful and slow even with bamboozle.

That being said, it is only on certain killers like Bubba. I was watching my sister play Oni and it was normal. So definitely a bug that will probably never get addressed unfortunately.

  • @Malkhrim said:

Honestly, I think this could make high-skilled play a little less unbalanced.

The killer shack isn't a problem against the average survivors, because they often fall for the mindgames, even for the most basic ones. But that doesn't work against the most skilled survivors. They won't fall for the mindgames and will always wait at the safest spots if they lose the killer from sight, reacting fast enough to reach the window or pallet when they see it again. This can waste a lot of the killer's time, which is a big problem against survivors who do gens efficiently.

The only problem this implies is... the shack is already not that good for the average and low skilled survivor, so a breakable wall would make it a really dangerous tile for them.

Huh? As a new player, Shack was literally all I could run.

  • I have been tunneling quite a few Mikaela already. Her new playerbase kind of annoys me. I do not do it BECAUSE she is Mikaela. I do it because a Mikaela happens to be the type of survivor who is asking for it. Lol.

No idea why it is happening otherwise. Maybe to stare at her from behind while you chase?

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I don't think this is a common thing. It never has been. I rarely ever see an afk killer.

At low mmr, it is super common. They already made it down, they just don't realize it yet... ha ha ha.

  • I was going to say power moves too, I did it with the new Ace cosmetic where his shirt is nearly unbuttoned. It felt amazing.

I can never take Tru3’s word anymore, when he said swf is op while running a super strong build on nurse, with strong add ons and still losing because he missed so many blinks yet he blamed it on gen speeds. He’s also recently said that they killed Spirit, Spirit is still fine

He is overly dramatic about certain things, of course. And he has a bit of an ego that fetters his credibility at times. But I personally feel a lot of his opinions align much closer to reality than most of what other killer mains say.

Fair, though IMO the total suppression of the DS Survivor's agency (if they even have it, DS dribbling is about guessing they have it) isn't good game design.

If there was a method to incorporate both the Killer's input to counter DS alongside the Survivor's input, perhaps, but I don't know what that would be.

Oh, yes, I am clairvoyant. I can always tell when they have DS. Such a skill of mine. No guess work involved.

  • Yeah... Not much to do but pray it works until they release a fix.

"What would you call it if not playing nice? Playing mean?"

Somehow the quote option isn't working for me.

Playing normal? You do know, that there is barely ever a black and white to anything. It's mostly grey all the time. One can play nice, chill, fair, normal, competitive, tryhard, unfair, disgusting and everyhing in between.

For me, playing nice is my normal, I suppose. I always play how I would like the killer to play if I was survivor, under normal circumstances. Challenges and BM (which is not how the rest of the community defines it in my case) bring out the killer main who burns the survivor rulebook in front of the church of survivor mains.

  • What would you call it if not playing nice? Playing mean?

I think it's going downhill because so many people have been banned for god knows what. People who were regulars with thousands of posts. It sucks being a part of a forum where one wrong thought and you're gone. Makes me wonder if Reddit is better for talking about DBD.

All forums are like that. I am banned from Overwatch right now for saying that if you couldn't deal with Brig, you suck. It is kind of cringe. Say what you will about this place, I don't see people getting silenced for something that mild. If they did, surely I would have been a victim of it by now.

Anyways, after trying Reddit for a bit, eh.

  • *you're

But yes, I hate survivor validation as a killer, and love it as a survivor. It is sad that you cannot enjoy the benefits when you play survivor. I know I sure do.

  • @Nayru said:

okay but by dcing you're sacrificing your bp/items to dispense 5000 + item retention to the survivors in the match, it's quite lucrative for time spent

Franklin's can solve half that problem, at least.

  • @Junylar said:

The killers demanded the hatch nerf, and the devs were quick to deliver. The key still can be used by the last survivor if the killer closes the hatch, and even then if the killer patrols the hatch - you won't be able to escape since there is now an animation of opening the hatch, with progress bar. So we now have an item that is usable only one trial out of ~30, probably the most useless item in the game so far.

Quick to deliver? Hasn't it been like a year? Moris were nerfed well before I joined during Resident Evil. And that is when the demand spiked.

Albeit, I kind of agree, the item is pretty useless now. Good for when they find the hatch first despite you knowing where it is, I guess?

  • @Massquwatt said:

Shhh. Don't go saying anything about his tier III because you're gonna get the "Deathslinger/demogorgon has free zoning" crowd to come here and scream for nerfs. That being said for all the strengths he has they're all pretty balanced out by the fact that contamination is a free speed boost.

I am lowkey scared of it. Nemesis is our little secret, let's keep it that way. Survivors can have Trashslinger.

Facts, last time I saw something about DBD bricking systems was like 2 years ago and it was proved to be false within 2 hours.

It would be nice if this one was proved to be false within 2 hours. Luckily I play low mmr mostly. And wouldn't really dare try a high mmr killer with the current performance.

In the QandA stream they basically said that the early game collapse isn't a thing anymore. Console optimization, they sometimes talk about in that 100+ page thread Pulsar made.

I do agree i wish they were more... honest. Seeing them tweet about the halloween event whilst the game has an infinite loading bug is quite demoralising.

Right? I am trying to be patient, but seriously, the loading bug actually makes me stressed out at the thought of opening the game and potentially wasting a lot of time just because I cannot play even though I would like to.

I would take just the bloodhunt...

speaking of bp offerings on that subject one thing that perturbs me is seeing like 2-3 party streamers and then getting genrushed in 3m or so (i tend not to run any gen defense perks on a lot of killers cough) and them flying out the gate with many teabags and about 9-11k points

like breh i wouldn't even kill any of you after 2nd hook i just want some fat bp come baaaaaaaAAAAAAAAACK AT LEAST TAKE HATCH AUGH

I never used another cake after a 4 man brought cakes and showed me the true meaning of gen rush. It was a 5 cake lobby, they just hid whenever my terror radius was near, I couldn't find them, gens were flying. And before I knew it the game ended. It was on Dead Dawg Saloon, so I just played Wreck It Ralph in the Saloon to try and salvage a bit of BP while they waited at exit gates like always... Only, they didn't wait. They all bolted seconds after the door opened. That was the first and only time that has ever happened to me, by the way.

So, yeah, I never brought another BP offering for survivors again. I regret it when we all have fun. Wish I could convert like ten cakes into one post game cake when all of the survivors are nice and not complete dirt bags. I would totally do it, even if I had to sacrifice my own BP. Those games are so rare, and yet so fun.

  • I considered it very carefully and decided to facecamp this game because you didn't bring 3 BP offerings. Better luck next time, champ!
