  • It is probably normal. It mostly just makes me cringe whenever I watch the salt videos. But I do technically enjoy it.

I'm on console but if I had endgame chat I would totally fan the flames. Tbh my life kinda sucks so if someone is lashing out at me over a GAME (happened all the time in 2010 era COD lobbies) I relish that miniscule power the rager has given me and run with it. This is the internet after all

You don't get hate mail messages? I often get them during the game. I once stopped playing to have a back and forth with a flashlight user who was mad that I tunneled and face camped him out of the game. My final words were, " well I let the others go, so you technically did well as a survivor." It is more savage in context where he wouldn't shut up about skill and rank. It was kind of weird, so I needed to start speaking his language.

  • Nemesis. His late game is monstrous and early on, he really isn't THAT bad. He is very fast to tier up and denies a lot of pallets and loops relatively easy, or at least without the drawbacks of other killers who can do the same. And the information he provides keeps the game on the rails most of the time even for someone like me who is horrible at tracking survivors. He is literally just a ranged killer without the movement penalty. That alone makes him quite strong in my opinion.

  • If they want to rage at me, I will either make fun of them or level with them. It kind of depends on how hard they come at me.

  • I would take bonus bloodpoints. The movement speed seems unfair for any solo in the lobby, and heck, it is kind of unfair for the SWF too.

  • @Orion said:

Survivors earn much less Bloodpoints than killers. Survivors on average earn about 2 times less than killers. Survivor analog of BBQ is WGLF, which is by an order of magnitude worse: you have to throw the game to get all 4 tokens with WGLF, while you can get 4 hooks in almost any normal game as the killer, even if you lose the game. Moreover, the base you get to multiply is, as was stated before, much smaller for survivors. It has been like this since the launch, I think, and in 5 years the devs have done nothing to fix this issue: survivors will continue be underpaid for as long as the game will stay around.

Survivors earn less BP than killers for multiple reasons that can't really be changed.

    • Survivors refuse to cleanse totems. Dull Totems are 1000 BP each, which is a lot for a 14-second interaction. I don't think there are many interactions that give more BP per time spent, other than cleansing Hex Totems (1500 BP, if memory serves). In fact, survivors in general seem to refuse to do anything that isn't genrush.
    • Survivors can die, meaning they stop earning BP for that trial. However, that just means they'll earn less BP per trial. Overall, they should earn about the same per unit of time, if they're not complete newbies.

As for WGLF, your main source of tokens is just performing safe unhooks. If that's "throwing the game" for you, I don't know what to say.

Finally, the devs have increased survivor point gain a few times, like with the Dull Totems I mentioned. Survivors just don't want to do anything that isn't generators.

High skill cap killers. We all know no survivor has a chance against a good Nurse, Blight, Huntress or Spirit. There is a skill level upon reaching which the killer becomes literally unstoppable by any survivor team, however good they might be, especially the Nurse. Devs won't change it as they think it's fair: in order to dominate you must spend thousands of hours to learn the killer, and then you deserve your guaranteed wins without limits.

The Nurse is not "literally unstoppable", by any stretch of the imagination. However, she requires a different playstyle that, like with totems, survivors are unwilling to do. They refuse to learn how to play against her and then claim she's "unstoppable". The same goes for those other killers. They require a different way to play, is all.

Play as them, learn them, understand them, figure out counters. That's the best advice I can give you if you're struggling.

The Grind. Yes, this one. The Bloodweb hasn't been reworked since 2016, and now we have 10 times more characters and perks. Since the Bloodweb hasn't been touched for so long and the devs haven't expressed the slightest interest in doing anything, we can only assume it will get worse in the future with new characters and perks.

The Bloodweb's last change was in September, 2019, with patch 3.2.0. It's when the devs added two perks on every level after 25. In fact, the Bloodweb has had three major changes to help reduce the grind, all documented on the wiki.

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Bloodweb#Bloodweb_History

Queue time difference. There is a huge difference between the survivor queue times and killer queue times, depending on the current time. In general, we have instant killer lobbies in the evening and night, and instant survivor queues in the daytime. There are dozens of good ideas on how to make the difference less drastic that have been proposed, but the devs don't see an issue here. "If you wanna play as killer during daytime - just wait a bit 4Head".

This is an issue of player population. Some people just don't like to play survivor/killer.

Imbalance among killers and perks. Some killers will always be by an order of magnitude better than others, some perks will be meta while others will be useless. This is impossible to fix, there are too many of them. Well, the devs could buff rarely used perks from time to time, but they don't do it. So no hope here: No Mither and Monstrous Shrine are stuck at the bottom of the trashcan.

Many perks have been buffed, even reworked, to become better (although you're right that Monstrous Shrine is utter garbage). However, people tend to stick with their meta perks unless something better comes along. Given how strong survivor meta perks are, I doubt the devs want that power creep.

As for No Mither, you're missing the point of the perk. It's supposed to be a "hard mode", in a sense, but still provides many benefits.

I do totems a lot as a Nancy main, and even open chests every trial and if I get a toolbox, I sabotage random hooks (they give 500 BP for like 3 seconds). It is still nothing compared to killer. But I am REALLY bad at survivor and moderately competent at killer. So you know, that could definitely make the difference, especially considering queue times.

  • I am upset because it is my second favorite map. Does that count? Make it three people!

  • @MrCalac123 said:

Devs nerfing niche and fun perks into being completely worthless because like 2 Survivors whined about it. Killers run the same like 10 perks because vast majority of them are GARBAGE, they suck. Why should Shadowborn only give FOV? Give all Killers 5 more FOV by default and they adjust Shadow Born and Monitor and Abuse to compensate. I'm not asking for an FOV slider but come on, it's not fun or engaging, it's ANNOYING and it's designed that way on purpose for whatever reason.

Fire Up useless, Huntress Lullaby shouldn't be a Hex, Blood Favor is a Hex with an effing cooldown because it was soooo strong???? Monstrous Shrine is a joke, Beast Of Prey could be good but instead it's mediocre and lame, Gearhead was good then nerfed, Coup De Grace was good but then got nerfed into the dirt so hard it dug to China, I could go on and on and on.

Even niche perks that are decent really aren't THAT decent. Lightborn is cool but why run it over something like Corrupt or Pop? Play With Your Food is fun but why bother when you can run Undying to try and protect your Ruin (let's be honest, both are going within 30 seconds into the match).

It's just frustrating. They have the data on which perks aren't being used and yet they never touch them. Show me how many people are running Beast Of Prey. I want to see the number.

I hate flashlights just that much.

I think I use Beast of Prey as my only Huntress perk when I pick her. She is still level one. If that is the one that gives bloodpoints in chase.

when did i say i was ever mad at them? ive literally been upset with my DCing teammates this entire time, i was just saying that her having 50% of the work to do doesnt really make it fair. our survivor workload was double, her killer workload was halved--and they get rewarded for othjer survivors quitting, meanwhile survivors who stay are punished. i just dont get how that is fair to be a survivor who stayed, played as hard as they could despite 2 DCs, and gets pipped down from it

It just is not true, when people DC, I get less for it, even if only 1 person disconnects. Now, you know, the game is probably a free 3k after that happens outside of the 50/50 for hatch, and then the "50/50" at exit gates once they fail the first 50/50. But I wouldn't say I am rewarded with bloodpoints unless that person disconnects after like 2 hooks and they are already downed. It only gives you like 600 if I recall?

I am not sure what rank you are, so maybe it is just stringent the higher you go, but if I run the killer for about a minute, unhook like 2, and do a gen... I rank up. I would have thought it would be the same if you guys were unhooking and healing each other while doing all the gens. But man, if not, yeah, the ranking system is clearly trash. Most people already say that though.

  • Is that situation even common? You could probably just report them for hacking as a formality. I do not usually condone false reporting, but you know, if they knew where everyone was without information perks, that is suspicion enough.

I have seen Twitch streamers accuse people for far less.

  • I literally just run a BBQ, Ruin, Surveillance, with filler perk on every single killer I play. Lightborn if they have even one flashlight. Usually Lethal Pursuer if they do not. That is it.

  • The hatch stand off one really bothers me. I would accept a forfeit option to just get me the hell out of that nightmare. The entity should be pleased enough with my suffering. Just end the torment and let me freaking leave!

I still haven't seen a single person ask for this, and I've asked for links.

Asking for the survivors to not be able to switch is absurd, just like I commented there, and this whole thread here is a disingenuous and pointless.

It's just like End Game Collapse. It's not enough that they can close the hatch now. It's not enough that killers can open the door and start a timer, and that they get free kills because of it. Survivors shouldn't be allowed to 99 the gates, according to a lot of killer mains.

It's not enough that killers can see who is in the lobby, and what they might bring. Survivors have to have their items locked in so killers can prepare. But by that logic, remove Plunderer's, Appraisal, Pharmacy, and chests entirely, while we're at it. Survivors might get something the poor killer didn't plan for!

Personally, when I make a last second change to my item, it's to take something off I looted out of the last game and forgot to unequip. But I guess killers want more toolboxes and flashlights and keys in the game?

That happened to me today, I was all clear for a match without needing Lightborn, so I brought Lethal Pursuer instead, and one of those rats found a flashlight in a box. Face camped them to make sure it didn't happen again.

  • I know everyone hates FNAF, but I am in love with the idea of an animatronic or mascot killer. It just sounds so quirky.

And I am not a furry, I swear, but why have we not gotten an anthropomorphic killer yet. A werewolf would be sick. I suppose on that tangent, a vampire would be nice as well. Or two birds, one stone, make it some weird hybrid.

My dream is to get a waifu killer who is not disfigured or monstrous. I guess a female All Kill. Yes, I am a simp. I am not a 12 year old Five Night's Stan or a furry, but I will admit to being a "milady" neckbeard.

  • I have seen the opposite where someone got super combo'd by a zombie who hit them with a 1, 2 into body slam for the knockdown. It happen almost instantly on my screen and they slid on the floor about 15 meters and rubber rubberbanded back to the zombie. At first I thought it was a hacker, but I think they were just really, really laggy.

how is it a hard thrown when we legit had to work our butt off to get 4/5 gens done with just 2 survivors? it was a rank 9 huntress and from what ive seen they're too sweaty to throw anything

I am not trying to be rude. I am just saying that if they let you do all the generators between the two of you, like... They let it happen? They were being a really nice killer. No idea why you are mad at them of all people.

I don´t play tryhard, trust me. Not toolbox, not keys, not prove thyselfs, not selfish scapes (I always try rescue), and I don´t gen rush if killer is playing fair. My rank is 4-6. If killer is hard tunneling intentionally I´ll bodyblock and If I can´t evade it I´ll just step in killers face pointing him with the finger till he kills me. These guys don´t doubt usually and take the offer and claim his victory after that. I don´t care win or lose neither the ranks. Just want funny games.

Oh, I was getting the impression that you were like rank 1 and wondering why you get rank 1 killers. The same happens to me too even though I am only rank 8. I get tons of red ranks that play as though their actual life depends on it while I go for 2 hook cycles and let everyone go. They even teabag me after I purposely slug them instead of hanging them on death hook. So yeah, those types slip through the cracks, unfortunately.

Ah yes, people like Otz are not skilled and are bad.

How exactly does this answer my question at all? And the fact that it literally REWARDS the killer with 30k blood points is extremely unfair while I can only scrape together like maybe 8k before I'm hunted down because, again its just ME and one other person.

Eh, if he got 30k, he was clearly going REALLY easy on you. The cap is what, 32k? And 2 disconnects. To get all that chase, and hit, and power usage, and hooks... He had to basically hard throw for you guys.

If it was someone who just wanted to move on, he would have just tunneled one of you put of the game immediately.

  • @bm33 said:

There's a killer challenge to carry survivors 150 meters, sounds like Trapper was trying to do that and when gens finished he opened the gate to go on to next challenge/match.

Feng was probably just a random not doing anything for no reason other than to be a weirdo.

Yeah, I did the same for that challenge, but I was slightly more devious. I picked up the slug waiting by hatch, walked her as far away as I could. Beat her right before hatch, and did it again. Lol. I just let her have it after that teasing. But I probably looked like a bot.

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

You mean I can practice my nurse or huntress and not look like a baby killer lol

    I want it btw

I shiver. It was so bad once that everyone gave me a free hit at the exit gates because they knew I was going for the daily and didn't land a single blink. Rofl. I just skip that one now to save myself the embarrassment.

My Huntress is lit though. I destroy even with whatever her default perk is. The one that gives extra blood points for chase.

  • I do not really think anyone gets to red ranks casually. Probably just play casual until you get to a rank where you can play casual?

  • @Mat_Sella said:

why was the 'choose the hatch location' created? Knowing where the hatch is, is only valuable to the killer if the survivors dont have a key.

Yet, why would the survivors ever choose this offering without a key?

I need to know the thought process.

Probably specifically to make keys better, as annoying as they are... Let's be real, it is a pretty garbage item.

  • Pig. I love trying to get the reverse bear trap off. I also love playing against garbage killers because I am even worse!

  • I want a naked mole rat killer who digs underground to replace Demo. Hawkins can be reskinned to anything, I just really dig the layout. It was so simple to learn as a new player, so I am fond of it.

  • As overrated as I personally feel he is, he is probably one of the strongest killers to learn and one trick that doesn't have a high skill ceiling. His ceiling is still quite high, but I do not feel he needs specialized knowledge like Nurse, Spirit, or Blight.

  • My friend keeps complaining about spawning a few meters from the killer. Not sure if he is just too new to understand as my lethal pursuer still shows them across the map to me. But idk, maybe something is off with spawns?

  • @DocFabron said:

Clown and Trickster at any tier except F?... your friend will learn the truth one day.

Survivors really overrate killers in the 1v1 because that is more or less the main thing they experience. Same as Deathslinger. If one of those two is suspiciously high placed, probably a survivor main.

  • I still haven't gotten Hawkins once since the announcement, wish I got Ormond as I do not mind it too much.

Had to play 2 Yamoaka Estate ones in a row as Trickster. One I got 3 hooks, no kill. The other I 4k'd in less than 5 minutes and got a message about how people like me ruin the game.

  • Eh, one of those nerfs to solo players, does nothing to swf sort of changes. I would rather not.

  • Wait, the hair on Leatherface isn't his? That is even more metal than I thought.

  • I had a game where a survivor was crying about camping even though I killed them all in maybe 4 minutes and was across the map when they died. It is like... No, I tunneled someone else and slugged you. No camping involved. At least learn what to whine about it.

I'm really not gonna have a discussion with someone who protects a guy that tunnels on 5 gens. that's absurd.

He does not need my protection?

I am just saying that gatekeeping people from roles because of how they play is silly.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2445038#Comment_2445038

It was a nice read until I've read "I tunnel at 5 gens". I really don't want to tell you what i think about killers like you, but I'll tell you that playing this role isn't for you if you need to tunnel at 5 gens.

Playing a role has nothing to do with how good at it you are. That is like saying survivor is not for me because I cannot run a killer for 10 seconds. If I like survivor, I like survivor. That has nothing to do with my skill level or playstyle. I go treasure hunting and I am sure most of my teammates hate that, but guess what? That is fun for me. The thrill of brown box or green flashlight thrills me to no end.

  • @Ohnoes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2444900#Comment_2444900

That's more my issue with lightborn. The 100% effectiveness. I don't feel anything should 100% remove stuff, before it functioned fine in that regard. To pull off a lightborn blind you basically had to waste your entire flashlight and the killer would need to be making mistakes. Immunity is just a lazy design. You know what would've been a cool design? Having the light give the killer BUFFS.

Nah, I like the immunity better. I used one of four perk slots, I clearly do not want to be blinded. Take the hint, lol.

  • But what if the entity were the friends we made along the way?

Seriously, though, with how often the entity is displeased, it might just be a survivor main after all. Kidding! Just a joke. You know I love you survivors.

  • I wish they just added a forfeit option for me as the killer. I do not want to disconnect and lose my bloodpoints just because some loser survivor mains want hatch. I WOULD give it to them, both of them, let me open the thing myself so we can move on and I can find a real game.

Or a real afk timer would be nice, but that might be asking for too much and flip the game as too killer favored. Would hate to do that!

  • I think it already does place low ranks with higher ranks in the case of SWF. I have tons of red ranks with random brown ranks or a lobby that is all roughly the same except for one person who is way higher or lower.

  • Pick a better anti loop killer so you don't need perks to do the job? Nemesis is my personal favorite. But there are lots of options.

  • @Adjatha said:

There are few things more enjoyable in this game that running lightborne against a team with 3-4 flashlights and scoring hits, downs, and kills because they're so greedy enough to keep trying, even after failing a half dozen times.

It's never been easier to play killer, thank you for the laugh.

I mean, both of those statements could be true. They aren't mutually exclusive.

  • It would be funny if they had a perk that pushed them out of the way. But yeah, I just had that happen during my survivor daily. Couldn't tell if it was malicious or not. But I didn't want to play anymore, so we rolled the dice on slippery meat.

  • @Rivyn said:

I mean, we all know who's the balance dev for this game, so can you honestly say you're surprised?

I actually don't know who it is.

  • I doubt your skills are degrading, that is almost impossible, really. Between the latency and other changes that make the game even more survivor sided, what can you do? You will naturally perform worse.

  • @SpitefulHateful said:

Because a lot of male survivors are buffer than Trickster and have a military/fighter background but somehow they can't give him an ass-whooping when he comes at them. It's maddening.

Trickster would beat David King in the Octagon if he was allowed to carry his 60 knives. Or whatever the hell they nerfed it to. Mark my words!

  • I do not think they meant vague apology as in a partial apology so much as they meant how vague this thread was in regard to what was being apologized about.

It’s tied to the new Mori system where you have to ‘earn’ keys and mori’s each match. It’s not something you can just take.

They touched on it on the anniversary stream.

That being said they also mentioned that only 3% of survivors escape with keys so it’s pretty rare compared to the amount of survivors getting mori’d before the nerf. So it wasn’t very high on their list.

New mori system as in how it is now, or they are going to change it again?

  • @Progamer888 said:

I, think they have a contract that tells them to not do this ######### so, i don't think they can.

  • @tixerp said:

I'd agree but you lost me halfway through. We have what, 25 killers now? And more than half of them could use reworking IMO. Not even just their powers, but their design and backstories too (Which I know would never happen). I was seriously disappointed by Twins, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, Trickster, Legion, Demo, partially Blight, etc. The last thing we need is more content. I'd appreciate more than anything, making all that we have right now, the best it can be. Bring back the old UI that was changed for no reason, and rework these newer killer powers.

All my homies hate Wraith with that horrible backstory, and he is kind of ugly. But I am jealous because he is really fun and strong. With a tweak to the lore, I could be convinced to play him. You don't need to change anything, per se. Just add some context. A lot of it.
