Can't you just leave? They randomly last minute swapped to 2 keys, so I was like... "nah" and closed the application. I loaded back in without any penalty as far as I could tell.
-
Lightborn is my favorite perk in the game. I run it if I see even one flashlight. They are just mad because they cannot abuse a broken mechanic to get free saves.

I hadn't thought of this as a problem before until it happened to me just now, but I died to the Pig's reverse bear trap on RCPD because I only physically made it to two of the boxes in time without any interference from the killer whatsoever. Had the second box been the correct one, I would have barely lived.
I will admit I lost some time trying to find my way around and that should get better as I get to know the map, but even then it's so big I don't think it's possible to make it to all of the boxes in time. The Pig didn't have any addons either. I feel like the reverse bear trap should pressure you off gens, but not actually kill you just because have bad RNG, which isn't typically a problem. On this map though...
Anyone else experienced anything like this before? Any other interesting/frustrating RCPD stories?
Racoon City is the only map where I got my head pop. Two, actually. Maybe the map is good for something after all. Time to horde those map offerings on Piglet.

The downside is her ammo count. She needs to go to a locker to reload. And she might look like a competent marathon runner when compared to Nurse, but really, I could walk faster than her run, bro.

I think you can partially blame BHVR, as the official response to people saying the game might be becoming a bit stressful for Killer was to just play Civilization
Oh, wow, I knew it was a meme. I didn't realize it came from Behavior itself. That is crayy!
But seriously, the mindset of stress is the problem. Survivors are your bottom by design, even if they can loop you for 5 gens. Their whole goal is to flee like a rat. How could you possibly be stressed when their biggest power play is to flash a light in your eyes? Lul.

You know that scene in The Breakfast Club where Bender gets into a battle of wills with the Vice Principal and whatever the VP says to him, he's just like, "So what, I don't care," to prove he's really tough? The point was that he actually did care, but he'd internalized this message from his experience with his abusive father where the only way he could resist poor treatment was to act like it didn't affect him.
You should care if people are being mean to you. That's a normal response to a negative social interaction. Pretending not to care is the response of someone who's given up any hope of being treated with respect.
I mean, I can take the hint that they are being disrespectful. And I guess I would have something to say about it if we were face to face. However, we aren't, so what is the point taking the interaction that seriously? I genuinely do not care if I have the respect of anyone. Especially not randoms. My cat's respect is more important to me, and I HAVE given up on that mofo treating me with any degree of decency. Rofl.

I actually haven't gotten the map since the announcement and it is my second favorite map. Kind of salt inducing.
-
Eh, if they are back in the map, might as well go for hooks again. I get waiting them out at gate as they are completely safe, but in the middle of the map, you have a chance, or at least some more chase and hit bloodpoints. As for why they do it? Probably projecting their insecurities. I do not speak the survivor language, it is probably some ancient tribal urge they get, sacrifices to the flashlight gods. Wear lightborn and you become their God.
-
That they aren't going to reskin Hawkins. That decision is almost worse than whatever contract they agreed to.
-
Killers have tons of situational perks that require activation conditions. Generally speaking, I feel they should overhaul most perks to make them all relatively useful. There are some perks that I would LOVE to use, such as Make Your Choice, if they had a bit more consistency. I am afraid to use it because the unhooker can be gone with the wind, or I might be busy chasing someone else. A longer exposed status such as 2 minutes might make it a decent passive perk, or a shorter duration like 30 seconds with vision on the person so I know where they went, would make it a more useful active.
Just some ideas that would make me personally use the perk. As it is now? I would literally never use it on anyone.
-
They changed it to be more survivor favored under the excuse that "the server decides" even though they just gave survivors a higher priority. The smart survivors used to just hold w and only drop of necessary. Now the smart survivors camp the pallet. Lol. Love the change!
-
And Lightborn doesn't even counter the stun for Blastmine. So you cannot even counterplay it that way which is absurd.
-
I cannot remember how much the classic Ghostface robe costed. I think it was 4 dollars?
It is not even that I truly needed classic so much as he looked like an edgy Assassin's Creed cosplayer. My made up lore was that he was invited by the entity during the Renaissance Festival. And while that was... Interesting, I just felt compelled to use the OG look.
-
I do not feel killers should be overpowered, but I do feel they should have priority over certain aspects of the game given it is a 4v1. I think if I am camping a hatch, spamming close, a survivor shouldn't be able to pop out of their locker run straight up, and hop in. Rofl.
I think survivors shouldn't camp pallets just to get a stun because "the server" decided that the blood on my face and screaming survivor wasn't worthy of a trade because they clicked .1 seconds before my blade stabbed them.
I think gates should be slightly longer because they can just hide in your terror radius and start a gate as you leave to check the other one across the map.
Those are the things that, to me, make survivor way less scary. And I still play like an urban evasion survivor who is scared when the heart beat starts, and hides in lockers half the game. But when mechanics are so blatantly in my favor. I am not at all scared by my decision to not make distance and just wait for the free stun. Last minute escapes are extremely easy unless they have whispers and know I am just waiting for them to check the other gate. It is stupid. I am new to the game and still find almost everything to be scary, but surprise surprise, guaranteed survival or stuns kind of ruins the immersion a bit.
-
I think he fits fine. Just wish he had a rocket launcher mori instead. But I love that they incorporated the t-virus and zombies into his tentacle of pleasure and pain. And he brought a perk I would actually use. Those are rare.
-
To be perfectly honest, that should be how the red ranks are. The decent SWF and 4k killers SHOULD be playing against each other. That is why people hated mmr. It was actually finally making that happen on a consistent basis.
-
Skill based matchmaking was more chill for me because the matchmaking gave me chill survivors whereas right now, it is hit or miss. I still get red ranks that teabag when I literally let them live. Rofl. It is cringe inducing.
-
No to everything. They just need to fix survivors holding the game hostage because they are that desperate for the 5k bloodpoints. Even if that means adding a forfeit option for me as killer.
-
I probably prefer Nemesis because he is a ranged killer that doesn't move as slow as a survivor should be moving after they jump from a two story building. And then pretty much every ranged killer.
I play all of the licensed killers and love them all. But man, throwing stuff at survivors is so much easier. Ha ha ha...
I am thinking about taking Pinhead seriously though. He looks amazing for an m1 killer.

I've been playing for so long trying to get everyone prestige 3 level 50. Im down to 4 survivors left each at 50. I was dreading the new chapter because that adds 2 characters sometimes 3 with 8 to 12 prestiges.
I just want this awful grind done for a few months lol. So thank you for not adding a survivor. I can get 1 or 2 characters done before pinhead drops and the rest shortly after. Than comes the nighmare of all perks on everybody.
If your just getting into the game Do not prestige. It is a literal hell mission that never ends.
I noticed that as I got more and more killers. I have mostly everyone I play with the majority of perks. I just need BBQ 3 and Lethal Pursuer 1 on Deathslinger and, well, BBQ (any), Lethal Pursuer 1 and Lightborn 1 on Myers. I am pretty sure that is it. So I am going to save nearly 1 million for Pinhead and just drip them into Myers, I guess (he is already past teachable perks whereas Deathslinger still needs to add 2 to the pool that I do not want for Pinhead).
After that, sadly I want that p3 achievement. So Pyramid Head will be the one I prestige as I suck with him anyways. No perks will save me.
-
I mean, I do not really care about Dead Hard having no counter. And in that same way, I do not really care about Tinkerer having no counter. So... Sure? I would advocate for consistency either way. Lol.

You might want to read the post again I'm not talking about killers with dailies, even provided an example
I mean, I had a daily and challenge to get two sacrifices (as Pig). I tunneled right from the start. Nothing in your post really exonerates me. At that point, the people trying to stop the tunnel were already slugged, so I just hooked them for the 4k and got a salty message about how trash I was.
Two challenges in one game that lasted like 3 minutes, though. I can't complain.
-
I would assume the Halloween event.
-
I agree with everyone else, tunnel one of them and they will give you free hits and downs. If they run flashlights, use lightborn, you would be surprised at how boosted most of those survivors actually are. They NEED flash saves to even vaguely stand a chance.
-
They literally just changed it from a trade to you getting a free stun, there is nothing much else they can do.
-
Heck, if the survivors knew, you would be less likely to get it. I would mask that I was going for it by actually hooking people occasionally. Survivor mains are something else, bro.

Myers can't teabag?
That makes Ghostface the superior voyeur.
-
I think they were trying to copy the Myers daily, but since he cannot go down in tier, they had to change it to 4 matches? The only logic that I can play devil's advocate for.
-
For a second, I thought you meant his perk that made blood easier to see. Lol.
I never use any add ons, so I do not know what most of them do. It at least makes sure I do not have your problem of dependency. It also means my killers suck.
-
How is a lingering hitbox a tech?
-
@meatisadelicacy said:
LOL yep, a choice the killer makes is absolutely the survivors' fault. SURE, JAN.
There are absolutely times when the killer can't find the person who made the save and I don't blame them there for "tunneling" the person who just got saved. But that also means they either never left the hook or chose to go straight back to it.
Don't act like 95% of the time, the killer is just unskilled and chooses to tunnel. Play how you want, but you make that choice, no one else.
Eh, I usually drop the tunnel if someone comes out of hiding to take a hit. But if I can only find that one person, I am going to chase them and hook them... You can call me as unskilled as you like, but there is literally no reason not to unless I feel like being nice.
-
@ukenicky said:
I think a perk that grants someone being legitimately tunneled and camped an extra hook state would be a good way to deter camping and tunneling. Obviously such a perk would need VERY strict requirements to activate and potentially only be limited to a single survivor per match but I can't think of a better way to deter unnecessary and senseless tunnel/camping than to give a survivor more time to struggle and more time for the killer to lose the overall match for not actually attempting to play the game and patrol/chase etc etc
Basically something along the lines of Camaraderie
That would make malicious tunneling so much more satisfying. I usually let everyone else go anyways when I want to face camp someone for whatever reason. Usually flashlights. Lol.
-
It would be kind of nice if you already owned them to get an even bigger discount on cosmetics. But oh well, my luck is really bad about determining when to buy dlc. Rofl.
-
I am confused... How is this better than just teleporting to them?
-
It would be easier to just make a naked mole rate original killer with a tunneling perk and the ability to lunge.
-
I never really feel like I am a good killer getting 4k by camping near a hook. I more or less feel it is just a case of survivors being that much worse.
-
I only recently got him. I skipped him for Ghostface because I figured they were similar enough. But Myers was WAY more fun than I thought he would be. And I am the type to hook whoever I instadown instead of slugging and snowballing off of it. He STILL feels amazing even as you waste your tier 3.
-
Doesn't Trapper have the same hitbox as literally every other m1 killer?
-
I wish a weaker version of it was base kit, but what can you do? The game needs to be "balanced." Gen regression after a survivor abandons a gen would just be too OP. Not like they have enough time between the 4 of them to tap it.
-
Not to be that guy, but all of them, I am a horrible survivor. I don't ever have an easy time unless they leave me alone. Rofl.
I guess Wraith is that one that makes me roll my eyes. So maybe he is the worst? It is not by much, though.

@Shaped said:
You call that a fix lol.
It didn't change much at all. Game is unplayable since re chapter and never stopped to be except a few bearable games we get once in a full moon when stars align.
Edit: You should make clear it is a last gen issue not consoles in general.
It WAS fixed for me, until they did the Trickster update. And then lag spikes returned, but they aren't as bad as during the anniversary. At least in my experience.

I consider it when the killer runs right back to hook after an unhook usually in hopes of getting an easy second hook.
Eh, I go back to hook for the unique hook. Is that like... Reverse tunneling? Or just tunneling with a different ending?
-
I was surprised it wasn't already a killer when I learned it was the same company. 5 years and they never thought to add them... so strange.
-
I doubt it, the Nancy one is whatever. I love the Ice Cream Steve, but I don't own Steve.

Why be hyped by a DLC that can be removed at any time? 😟
We will get at least 2 years access to the new map before they remove it, I have you know.
-
I prefer mmr. The arguments against it are absolutely horrible, I care about game quality more than tryhards who do not want to put the effort into trying hard.
-
If someone needs a squad in a 4v1 while playing the stronger role... Is it really bullying? The worst they can do is blind you, and even then, with the power of lightborn, they can't even do that, really.

The only reason a license would meet the same fate is if the license holder doesn't want to renew the license or they just can't ever come to an agreement. I don't think we should be looking at this as a BHVR issue and more a license holder issue (in this case it's Netflix). I wouldn't worry too much about Halloween and other licenses. Also like others have said, they just renewed Halloween, so it's the safest.
Also this issue has always been something to fear. I think the reason we're all thinking about it is because it just happened. However, every time a license is up for renewal this is/should be a concern.
They actually decided to pull the trigger on an IP with a 2 year contract... I have every reason to worry they made similar decisions with other licenses. They apparently screwed up the map too? I mean, my concern means very little, but I expect we will lose more content in the future.
-
I am no rank one killer, but I would absolutely camp that hook. 1 gen across the map is a lost cost. Lul. Survivors have way too many health states to burn through that late for it to be remotely feasible.
-
One of those is iconic, the other is not. I say that as someone who loved Candyman the movie and thought Hellraiser was pretty meh. It is kind of obvious that one is more notable than the other, however.
