Good gravy train, can someone explain the new mechanics to get a flashlight blind? I've read that Ash can reliably pull it off, but has something to do with because he still has the capability to crouch and point???

If you line up your character model to cover up the killers when they are in front of you and look slightly up it will work everytime I feel like they've zoomed in on the character model so you can't see really what you're looking at until you click but try it out

The problem is that there's no directly killer sided maps. There's balanced maps like coal tower, wreckers yard etc, but no where near the extremes like ormond.

Indoor maps have skewed kill rates due to potato survivors, in general kill rates shouldn't even be looked at unless its above 80% or below 20% (at the extremes).

If anyone has had the pleasure of having a good squad on lerys, hawkins, midwich etc, then they know that they are absolutely not killer sided.

EDIT: wait i just got baited didn't I? oh well.

You must've forgotten shelter woods exists , that map is garbage nothing but open areas with like two jungle gyms and a empty tree in the middle , that map needs a treehouse or something more

Did they nerf the God pallets on the Asylum and the balconies on Haddonfield yet?

Yea they nerfed the pallets there are only two in the main now on asylum and balanced landing got nerfed a long time ago so the balcony really isn't as strong as it was with the stagger reduction

Everybody seems to be looking at it from hitting the survivor at one tile, and they run to the next tile to avoid this being an issue.

Nobody seems to be considering it’s effect when you hit a survivor BEFORE they reach tiles. That’s how I’ve ended up with downs at loops that I otherwise probably wouldn’t have gotten so quickly.

It only has to be effective a few times to save the killer a lot of chase time, and start getting survivors wasting time finding the hex.

Also think of it like this , the killer is penalized for staying withing 12 meters of a hook which is considered camping in the game , so you're only getting 4 meters outside of what the game considers campings distance instead of a more wide spread effect, I would almost say cruel limits is even better

16 meters isn't far enough to make it good though I can hold w and just use that speed boost to go twice the distance to a safe safe meanwhile youve preserved that one for later once the hex is gone

  • But you're just teaching bad survivors who already don't understand they can gain big distance off a hit to start using it to go to safer tiles preserving pallets in certain zones of the map then when your hex goes mid match all the pallets are up still because you didn't eradicate any safe zones

  • If you run pallets on autohaven it can be a nightmare for a survivor

  • The basement is balanced because usually that's where a strong loop is for a survivor 90% of the time , you can waste alot of time by running these tiles but you risk going to basement if you get too greedy and stay there too long , it's a give and take situation you're committing to a safe loop that gives the risk of going to the most unsafe place in the map if you go down costing your team more time to get you or force switching out in some cases

  • It's only a genrush to me when three gens pop in just over one minute into the game, but that's why at red ranks you see killers that can make it to those gens in time to stop it , it's really the lower tier killers that suffer from a true genrush because by the time they find someone at least 20-30 seconds have passed and a good survivor can stay up at least 20-30 seconds minimum against a m1 killer no problem , then by the time you hook them that's probably another 10 seconds not counting the 10-15 seconds it will take you to get to another survivor , that basically proves playing killers with low pressure has a gen time problem because if they're doing the objectives you don't have to play bad and three gens are gonna pop on you unless they just decide to not do gens at the beginning , it's not that killers feel as if every killer is in need of a buff as much as we want more variety at the top and not have to rely on certain killers or add ons to feel like it's a fair match

Yes. What happened was that originally the flashlight beams came out at the middle of your screen. There was a bug that made them come out just right of center. Now they come out at the middle of your screen again. The bug was fixed, it's just that everyone got used to the bug because it took so long for the devs to fix it.

That's not what I'm saying, and dude Ive been here long enough to have legacy I know how to use a flashlight, it was never like this before and it it was it's because they've zoomed in on the character model to make it look different , anytime I've ever blinded a killer with the flashlight I could see them before I clicked and now my character model feels alot bigger to the point that even performing certain actions you don't have as big of a FOV , it's totally possible they reverted it back but there's something else different going on

  • @ZaKzan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1611466#Comment_1611466

    the opposite

flashlights were bugged, flashlights were bugged, the devs actually fixed them. The issue is that the devs just took such a long time fixing them that everyone got used to the bugged flashlights.

The flashlights have never been like this before I've played since release, these new graphics have zoomed in on the survivor perspective slightly and the spot to aim is different than it ever was

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

I was confused when I tried one as the over the shoulder POV was the same to me. I thought thats what they changed. Then I went for a blind and literally could not hit their eye no matter what I tried. At one point it got blocked by a rock to my left somehow.

They've changed it to be center it's odd now , you have to cover the killers character model on your screen with your body and look slightly higher than you used to , it feels weird not seeing the killer until I click the flashlight but I've got it down now

  • If someone steals an item during a trade with someone else or if they just won't give the item back after Franklin's I'll either let them die on hook or just go spam the unhook button and let go until they die and take my item back

keys are op because if there is 1 gen left they can all insta escape and even force the killer into a hatch standoff

The hatch doesn't spawn unless all the gens are done with everyone alive , the only time it's ever unfair is when you're keyed multiple times and just keep closing the hatch for someone to just reopen it in your face and in that case all the gens got done and they could've went out the gates

Don't know if this have anything to do with the darkness of the map, but i noticed there's isn't any flickering lights on the map.

I know that freddy on certain maps is having this effect because it's so dark you cant see anything when you're asleep on sanctum of wrath

  • Just cover the killer with your character model on your screen and look slightly higher than what it was and ive found that to be the sweet spot and I've been getting them everytime now , it feels kinda weird at first because you don't see the killer once you line up until you click , it's like they've zoomed in a little bit on the survivors perspective something is different

  • I had this happen on coal tower when I was nurse yesterday I ended up slugging everyone and just not picking them up, I got some pretty bad messages in the chat but I mean what else can you do? I tried the drop and pick back up and it still didnt work, thankfully it's not a every time I play type thing and it only happens if say every 4-5 matches, if I were playing a lower tier killer it would've been unwinnable and survivors who realize it will take advantage of it

Thing is, the counter to slinger is to Genrush and because of his awful pressure he can't do much about it. Gen-rushing is also incredibly unfun for both sides. Alternatively you could stealth around, and while this could be fun to survivors (it certainly is to me) it's really unfun for killers. It's just unfun counters to unfun things which is the opposite to what a game should be.

And if you like slinger, cool. All power to you. Just know many people hate them and their reasons are just as legitimate as yours are for liking them

If bhvr were to change slinger his 1v1 should be nerfed heavily and in return, he's made 115% and, idk, can shoot onto objects to grapple onto them and drag himself forward.

Genrushing is really the only counter against good killers the problem with that is it makes the game unfun for both sides, survivors don't want to hold m1 all game and killers don't want to have one chase end and immediately three gens pop right off the bat , when survivors focus on seperate gens they know it's a done deal

  • This is why keys aren't OP, because if one random survivor like the one who opened this thread decides to hide and not do any objectives and just wait out the hatch , then the whole squad dies because of it, all it literally takes is one person not doing anything productive to just shift the entire momentum to the killer and make the game almost unwinnable as a survivor

There was already a bug, couldn't cleanse a totem on the new and AWESOME badham map :) but it's sorta a tradition and support to BHVR lol and well to our tastebuds lol

Yea I was jk, also getting drunk isn't an escape kids always remember that lol

  • That may not be a good idea to take something right out of the gates that BHVR releases , it always has bugs and I'm sure not even the champagne can escape that lol

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

It's called like that because a content creator came up with the catch phrase, so it must be true.

Don't worry. The game is not called measuring pps by daylight. Play survivor or killer however you want, within the official rules, ofc.

Didn't you know by now the people who call you out for the small pp are the ones with that issue, they have to find some way to relieve all that pressure and what better way than to take advice from a guy that looks like he came from oscar the grouch's house and then going out spewing that nonsense everywhere

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

I mean, do you really think that the killers' weapons or hooks are being sanitized between uses either? I'm sure the CDC would be just as flustered as OSHA in these scenarios.

Regardless, hope the survivors remembered to get their Tetanus shots...

Now that's a lie I personally saw Frank and Julie work their asses off spraying everything with lysol and even left sanitizer by the hooks for when you get the unhook, now if they could just quit using the same damn knife on everyone they run into

Yeah, and? That is how it worked even without the new offering.

The difference is that if the offering is used, you, as a killer are also aware where the hatch is. Without it, the survivor may be the first one there and not even have to use the key.

Keys and moris are busted. But don't tell me the new offerings help survivors, because in truth they actually help killers.

There's no point to discussing basic logic with this person just let them DC or dodge like everyone else who cries about it

left behind only works when you are the last survivor, and take away 1 perk slot.

now a common offering can get your whole party out and completely stronger than a perk?

your argument just further proves why this is wrong

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1606313#Comment_1606313

    No?

doing gen is not the only way a hatch spawn.

But if they aren't doing it by getting gens done then that means you're killing them again how is this a complaint? The hatch only spawns through gens or by survivors dying , there is no magical button to spawn hatch earlier than intended

  • Why is this even a complaint? I mean if survivors are doing nothing you're guaranteed at least a 3k , it's not like all 4 survivors can jump in the hatch right at the beginning with no gens done

  • @antifreedomring said:

A bug i guess? Because you should come iff the hook healthy if you had adrenaline

He did get healthy he was saying that it didn't proc when he was being carried so he thought it was bugged when he was healthy after a unhook

  • It's always been that way because when you're unhooked you are injured but not dying so upon being unhooked you gain that extra health state and the sprint burst

  • Hex blood favor is terrible , it literally is training bad survivors to run away from a unsafe tile without using the pallet and finding a safer tile, a killer perk shouldn't be used to teach survivors how to play in my opinion , your best case scenario when using this perk is you down a survivor in the pallet and it can't get slammed on you if you pick him up , other than that you're just making the game harder on yourself when endgame comes and most of the pallets are still up , good killers will want those pallets gone early on, the earlier the better

  • Lol I'm gonna run covid Jeff with head on and anyone who gets within 6 ft of my locker must pay!!!!

It's not the fact that I won or lost, it's the fact that even if I do everything in my power, if there is a key with that stupid offering one person will ALWAYS get out. Low risk, high reward on the survivors part.

Edit: Hell, maybe even two if they got enough gens done.

There's still a chance you get all four of them but I guess we can agree to disagree on this subject my friend , fair and accurate arguments could be made for both sides in this issue

Well, it doesn't matter if you have a high or low-end PC: You're still getting the FPS hit. I'm gonna have to turn my settings to low to get the FPS I want, which medium on a PC like mine is ridiculous in the first place.

For the Console part, I don't have a console so I really don't know for sure. I'm just basing it off of what I can gather.

I'm only losing a very small amount mine still runs at around 115 fps right now , so I can't relate to what you're saying but not saying I don't believe you I've learned anything is possible with this game

  • @Hex_Stalk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605825#Comment_1605825

Or they just sit around doing nothing knowing where the hatch will spawn, with their key, waiting for their team to die. then when the killer closes is they can just run on over and open it. This offering shouldn't have made it past ptb

In that case you got a 3k because nobody was doing anything , how is this bad? You won the game and they died

  • @RockoRango said:

From the information I've gathered, PC is at a ~40fps loss while Consoles have no fps problems. Simply put, they optimized the game for console but have busted FPS on PC.

Does this hold up? Because, if it does, I'm just gonna stop playing; I only get a stable (Note that 'stable' is more important than the actual fps) 144 on medium settings (Because my Refresh is 144 and I use GSYNC) with a Geforce RTX 2060 and a Ryzen 5 3600x, and I don't wanna deal with stuttering if I'm playing Nurse and I get a huge drop every time I blink. It's unplayable at that point.

    Poggers

I've seen a few posts with console players complaining about the fps so I'm not sure where you're getting that it's fixed? But yes lower end pcs have taken a big hit with this update and I look for alot of people to have to make some sort of upgrade in order to have a smooth performance again

  • @Hex_Stalk said:

Because what even is the point in playing a match where key is in play. The problem ain't the key itself, it's what survivors bring WITH the key. Yeah the new offerings that give control of hatch spawn to the players, if you have a key you don't have to do ANYTHING and you can still escape.

I can already tell this will be a HUGE problem since the offerings are COMMON.

I'm gonna say this again. Devs, where you shooting up with Blight when you came up with this STUPID idea of an offering?

Gens still have to get done for the hatch to spawn otherwise it only spawns once all the gens are done if everyone is alive and in that case the match is already lost, I just run hag with Franklin's and trap the key up after I knock it out , you wouldn't believe how many people will die to try and get their item back

Not defending keys but offering a different approach to combat them

  • @brokedownpalace said:

None of the survivors are wearing gloves or masks while working on gens? OSHA would have a field day smh

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605589#Comment_1605589

That's your solution? Buy a PC with our extra magical pile of money to properly run a 2016 game? That was "goaled" to be optimized in late 2018.

And remember there's no Cross Progression and likely not going to be one with Xbox, so we all would have to buy the game again, and all the dlc's again, plus any cosmetics too. Oh and all of our characters are back to lvl 1 so we grind again as well.

Would you do all that to continue to play this game? Be honest please...

That's the problem with a game like this, it's constantly evolving and the devs are upgrading their own software along with making the game stay with the new up and coming technology, it's the only way this game can survive the next gen coming and stay relevant is to keep upgrading but the bad part is it's at a point now where a significant amount of players are gonna have to upgrade to have an enjoyable experience, I have a 3000 dollar PC and even it's been experiencing a very small fps drop but nothing to rant over

Just start being toxic back and have fun with it, it's never gonna stop and it doesn't matter who you're playing as there will always be survivors like this , I find when you're toxic back they get their panties in a bunch and either DC or throw the game trying to bully then message with salt about X or Y reason that you beat them and how you're getting reported lol

To be blunt I know a lot of console players are going to switch to Playstation 5 and whatever the Nintendo and Xbox equivalent to that is when the next gen comes out. PC players playing on a toaster will probably need to upgrade.

"I shouldn't have to upgrade my PC to play a game."

Meanwhile Microsoft keeps beaming heavy updates to your computer which eventually slow it down as its bogged under "security updates". In truth the game was rigged from the start. Bill Gates demands all of your money, and only a beefy graphics card can save you.

I honestly wonder what the minimum spec requirements are now for this game, I would be very surprised if it was the same as the initial release

if you dc on loading screen you arent affected by dc penalty

Well I didn't know that I just assumed once the offerings burned anything after that was considered a DC

  • I'm on pc and Everytime someone plays a Mori a random will DC in the loading screen and I'll have to wait for it to finally load in to leave because I don't want a DC penalty, it's gotten pretty ridiculous lately to be honest

  • Because you're playing the game on a toaster, optimization should've been on console years ago the truth is they've been waiting out the next gen consoles so they can tell you times are changing and they have to keep up with the new generation to survive which is very true, but it also makes it to where they don't have to backtrack to try and figure out a way to make anything different the next gen consoles are basically just like a average gaming pc if you look at the specs and it should run DBD in it's sleep

Yea he's a really good survivor one of my faves for sure , alot of the techs that people like to see performed in this game can be easily countered and it can be very hard to trick a killer into falling for it at high ranks you have to get creative , and notice I say high ranks because like he mentions a bad matchmaking killer isn't something people want to watch it's boring and everyone already expects a win in that situation, also nobody thinks you're good for shitting on a yellow rank killer

Personally, I'd be all for if the developers make survivor harder. I've got to the point where I find playing survivor too easy and boring. It's why I switched from being a survivor main to a killer main.

In my opinion, four good solo's are still stronger than the killer in the games current state. If they buff killers whilst making it harder to rank up, then it would reduce the chances of potatoes finding themselves at high ranks. In an ideal world good players will play against other good players, and potatoes will play against other potatoes.

Red ranks should be cut and dry if you die you don't pip , if you don't get at least a 3k you shouldn't pip at red ranks , something like that will keep people who just play alot out of red ranks and leave truly the best at the top
