You may not make this mistake but one common mistake some make is using the same build on every killer, not every killer can benefit from the same build and even hinders some, or playing in a way that isn't utilizing the killers power or potential
Example: someone doesn't feel confident using spirits phase because they aren't use to it or tracking properly while phasing, so in return they get looped with a lower movement speed killer and never use the potential she has because they're afraid of losing the survivor, when if they just played around and took some licks for the first week learning ways to manage the power you would start finding what works best for you and getting the downs

I don't play with self care but i would say that healing with bond is pretty much the same like self caring since you waste 16 seconds of your time and the survivor who is healing you.
Zero difference.
The difference is with bond you can go bang out a gen before you heal, be productive, avoid sandbagging, and determine if someone is in a chase , with self-care you spend time getting away and then healing in more than likely an unsafe area, you're not doing an objective, it takes a longer time, if the killer has nurses you're a immediate target because they know you prefer staying healed and need that extra hit in a chase they will 100% take advantage of you having that perk if they know you're using it by smacking you just so you'll hide and waste time without being productive
It's a very big difference my friend
-
@Kikki said:
I mean I used it too a while ago but yet, I learned to play without and I don't miss it. I mean okay you can heal yourself but it takes much more time. I don't want to dictate what should you play and what not but instead of SC why not using bond for heal's?.
I've just been avoiding cross play for this reason, it's really disheartening to run a killer for like literally 5 minutes and nothing get done, when I'm on PC and I do those kind of runs all the gens are popped and we're out the door but when I play with console players they just hide, self care in a corner , or just play like total bots in general and never help the team, I have a few friends on console from playing PS4 that are actually really good but the majority not so much , this is why cross play stays off for me I'd rather not play a game where you spawn in and your team is already trying to wait the hatch
-
My personal opinion I think the hitboxes need to be adjusted for both sides , if you think about it they were made back when everything depended on the killer being the host of the match , now that alot of the latency is gone you're seeing how far away you're actually being hit, also the smaller killers have the same hitboxes as the bigger killers which shouldn't be a thing and also killers collision with scenery is a problem when running tiles sometimes and causes the survivors to gain more distance than they should on certain loops
-
If you go down in a pallet or a window and a teammate is nearby about to use it, hold your run button so that way you cancel the healing action from appearing and your teammate can use the pallet or window without getting the prompt it can literally be a difference maker and prevent the killer from getting an insane amount of pressure so easy, of course survivors should be on gens if possible but sometimes when trying to make a play or with randoms this can save you from a slugfest

it's not a "tech" it's an exploit at this point.. it's as much a "tech" as a survivor dead hard'ing across the roof on Mother's Dwelling
Ok so lemme get this straight, you come here complaining that the harvester is broken I tell you it's not and you start calling it an exploit even though you were trying to do it?
-
It wasn't? I just did the harvester tech like 15 mins ago playing as wraith and got the down
-
We just need to give the survivors and killers the middle finger emote , I would gladly buy it even for auric cells

Exhausted on the ground is because of dedicated servers.
He's saying you don't use dead hard to tank a hit , you use it to get to a pallet and extend a chase or get to a window you normally wouldn't have made

Nope, I am on PC. I play Nurse myself on top of it. I would not say that I am a great nurse, but 9/10 games are 4ks. Still, as a Survivor I haven't seen a good nurse in many many months.
Damn lol idk then that kinda surprises me to be honest
-
I've got a friendly suggestion for you that will help your gameplay alot, coming from a PC nurse I can tell you're not bad but if I were you I would take shadowborn off , I Know you're probably like "what!! No way!" But I would trade that out for discordance and learn her a little better without that and with no add ons whatsoever until you feel optimal that way , I did this for a month straight perkless also and Im not gonna lie I got wrecked at first pretty bad but at the end of that month I faced the same swf that wrecked me the first week I started and I slugged them all in 3 minutes and the last one DC when I picked him up

Lets be honest. Good Nurses are insanely rare.
Not really I play on PC and I'm not the best nurse by any means but I can't even remember the last time all the gens got done against my nurse , I know quite a few others equal or better than me just a wild guess, are you on console? If so that would make more sense
-
Just run the hag with Franklin's and trap their flashlight after you hit them , you won't believe how many people will die just to try and get that flashlight
-

As survivor, everytime I hear the cry of the nurse at the start of the match, i know i'm going to have an easy game
Yes you must be facing bots I can assure you that will be the last thing you think of when you finally get a nurse who knows their #########

Nah I do but it gets boring and stale. I like to change it up. If we talking about cod lobbies you should of seen og gears of war man all the trash talk I wish we could go back to those days of gears. But I digress I'm only trying to say is you cant get mad at survivors using the bui km s if its killers that made it meta.
I agree I was just stating with all the tools they're choosing not to use to combat it they're too worried about getting called out for using something people consider scummy and that's like saying you're bad at street fighter for using Ken or Ryu, the devs intend for this stuff to be used
-
Just play what you want , content creators can make any name or excuse for why they call a build what it is but those people are just pathetic it's a damn game you're supposed to play however you can to have fun , if they aren't bringing an optimal build to counter it then that's on them as a killer I don't care if they don't want to bring a Mori or whatever it is to equal the playing field for them, my point is if they aren't playing the best build they can to win then there's no room to call anything OP because they were too worried about limiting themselves from playing anything that might be considered OP. I swear these kids wouldn't have survived the old call of duty days they would've cried to nerf everything into the ground and reported everyone in the game chat spending more time reporting than playing the game
-
@azame said:
Now I see killer mains who say survivor is easy and yet can't themselves. If you can't handle a chase as survivor but make bold claims your argument is invalid.
Survivor is easy if your team does the gens like they should instead of trolling, the problem is only a few killers really stand a chance with the top tier survivors that rush gens and know how to run tiles
-
When playing a killer that doesn't have map pressure you have to have strategy and plan for the endgame after you get your first hook or two , pick the 4 closest gens together and protect them making sure they don't get done, don't over commit to chases if you notice a survivor is in a really good position to run you, try to make them waste a couple of safe pallets smack and go in some instances, eventually they will run out of safe zones and if you do a good job protecting those gens it's almost a guaranteed win for you because you've corralled them all in one area that they have to be in to possibly escape and there's no safety left for them

God that would suck for killers lol
Yes I know lol you could escape a chase by using quick and quiet and be right back at the gen you were on
-
You know what nevermind lol I'm not even going there have a nice day
-
Someone I know had an idea for a survivor perk called Houdini, it has 3 tokens and can only be used 3 times a match but if the survivor were to hop into a locker for 3 seconds they would teleport to the locker closest to the last gen they interacted with
-
@Alphiax said:
Vacuum pallets where removed ages ago for being unfair. I believe the same goes for hooks the fact that you can be behind the hook and suck yourself to the front is bs. The amount of times I would have wiggled off if that wasn’t a thing is innumerable. Anyone else find this to be completely unbalanced and defy the games physics.
Not really , I think it's balanced as is, if I go down and nobody is making a play to make a save for me I deserve to be on the hook because I was outplayed , as much as I hate the last second hooks when you feel you're out I don't believe taking the hook vacuum away would be fair because then body blocking hooks actually does become OP at that point when right now it's not
-
Recycling bin , then click on empty
-
I really hope you don't do this but it sounds like you're one of those people that just stand in pallets and wait for the killer to get close so you can drop it on them but they're getting close enough to cancel out the button prompt for you , if you were looping and threw the pallet that would never happen it's almost always when someone is just standing there waiting that you see that, in my 9000 PC hours I've only had it happen when a killer picked a survivor up in the pallet and I was on the wrong side to get a prompt to drop it

you can hook multiple people multiple times at that point, just because the game is progressing at the same rate for both sides doesn't make it a lost cause. I guess if you don't 4k every match is a loss in your eyes?
No if I don't 3k it's a loss for me in my eyes, but I'm hard on myself is why I say that
-
Her iri heads definitely need looked at , as of now with iri heads and a Mori it's basically an automatic win unless the killer is just really really bad
-
It would be like a mixture of plague and demogorgon, and spirit is what I would imagine
a puking ability like plague that maybe is used for tracking and not injuring, a shred attack kinda like demo , and I could imagine the movements being like spirit with the phasing in and out while walking normally that with the shred being added in would seem more like a jumpscare attack
But it's probably not very marketable and my idea may not even be good
-
@timbologna said:

All of these work wonderfully, but not in an endgame scenario where you're trying to down an already injured survivor and being blocked by a healthy one.
If multiple survivors are alive at the endgame it's pretty much a lost cause anyway for the killer unless they resort to camping whoever they currently have caught, it shouldn't make it that far into the game as a killer or it's a loss to me or that's how I see it but then again I'm a nurse main so if all the gens get done and multiple people are still alive then it's me who played incorrectly and anything from there on was self inflicted by not ending it sooner

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/186972/bodyblocking-sucks
I do think a Perk: Hooker that allows the Killer to ignore Body Blockers entirely, pass right through them with package within 3/6/9 Meters from a Hook (depending on Level of Perk) and with a side benefit of being able to Hook faster might be an interesting addition. But bear in mind, I think Body Blocking is a perfectly acceptable and necessary tactic. I just think a Perk to help deal with it might be nice. After all, we have a Perk that totally eliminates Flashlights. :) Or to keep it simple:
Perk: Hooker
The Killer may ignore other Survivors when carrying a victim to the hook when when within 3 Meters of the Hook. In addition, the Killer may take a Survivor off the Hook and attempt to carry them somewhere else (and even rehook). At Level-1 they get 10 seconds for this new trip, At Level-2 they get 15 Seconds, and at Level-3 they get 20 Seconds. *Survivor can start to struggle fresh as normal each time with zero bar.
No way man , if you gave the killer the ability to re-hook you they could just three hook you right when they caught you the first time, there are plenty of things that counter body blocking the most effective combo to combat it probably being agitation, iron grasp, and mad grit
-
Mine would be
Survivor: resilience, spine chill, kindred and hope
Killer: sloppy butcher, bitter murmur, whispers, iron grasp

Yes and no, you can say that they already know the things that in the AI has to do, but keep in mind that DBD mobile and the main game run on different servers, and the main game was not even designed to work on dedicated server to begin with
Go figure all the differences between DBD mobile and main DBD 😂
Yes there's all kinds of differences in the game and I can agree it wouldn't be exactly the same but experimenting with the ai technology is similar in some ways I'm sure and that was what I was getting at is being able to make it a working thing on mobile means it's very possible for us to see it soon here as well if that's the direction they're choosing for handling DC

Lol yes, once I went into an argument with some who was claiming that since bots were in DBD mobile, adding them to the main game was an easy thing to do since "The code is already there, they just need to copy and paste" 🤦♂️
Well it would be easy now that they know how to make it work in mobile but I "lol" with you on the copy and paste , if it were that simple everyone would be a dev

I'm quite the opposite. I have run some of these perks because of the way that killers have conducted themselves. Wish I didn't have to!
Same lol sometimes I have one of those days where nothing goes my way, I just think it's ridiculous now that people are insulted for perks they use and it discourages new players from wanting to play when they run into these people and it's alot more people than some realize that act this way even content creators have been name calling on builds people have on and they should be more mature and better representatives for the game
-
@Veen said:
Well, without crutches my trials usually are more fun to play & stuff, but I often ends up killed on many scenarios where crutches would have saved me.
It's a win-win scenario where you have to choose between boring gameplay relying on crutches or fun build but considerably reduced chances of escaping.
I understand that and there are times I use them times I don't , but people shouldn't take enjoyment away from a new player and force them to be a personal bot for the team not being able to enjoy anything about the game or try something they think might be fun

No bamboozle takes just a second after they vault but you lose collision during the vault with mind channel and can run through them or stand literally inside their body and vault back through as soon as they finish

Do the add-ons matter? Also is the tining any point in their vault?
Yes you have to have add ons that allow you to mind channel on the key and it's also in any point during the vault but if you wait too long when the animation is ending you will get stuck from them regaining collision lmao I've used this before and vaulted back through a window on a killer with bamboozle before it could affect the window and they turned around looked at me and DC

It's easy , just get your friends go into kyf and put on a green key with a gold token and prayer beads or put on a map with some jelly and range add ons , go to shack and hold mind channel when he starts vaulting and run back the other way , just don't wait too long because it's only while he's stuck in the animation and they won't be able to see you though good headphones may hear you running you might be able to find one someone else already made or I can just make it next time I'm on

Being a dev isn't easy, most people would like to believe all fixes are simple but one little tweak could take days or weeks depending on what's being changed and making sure it works as intended instead of creating a new bug to go with the old one , hats off to the devs they put up with alot from the community

still id rather learn the actual timing bc then it's more consistent and fun but if i ever gotta do it quickly thanks for the tip :D
Lol yeah it's fun to do sometimes but the actual timing is better to know
-
No it doesn't, that was a long time ago when charges weren't stacking properly but as far as I know it shouldn't matter anymore

Green keys should be deleted bc of their strength
Yep lol actually you can use the mind channel at window vaults and window tech a killer every time because you lose collision if you do it as soon as they start vaulting , normal window techs have a timing or you'll end up with collision but this totally eliminates that, and a map works with it as well
-
This game has always had matchmaking issues , I kind of chuckle when people blame the new matchmaking because I can literally go back 2 years on here and find the same type of threads
