Just give the killer a skillcheck to shake off the stun twice as fast and if they miss it they get the normal stun time , then when you hit a skillcheck and outplay the survivor immediately they have no ground to stand on because all they did was hit a skillcheck to escape and you did the same to make it less reliable for them, but idk it's probably not a good idea

Ok? Doesnt change the fact that SWF is uncounterable.
This is untrue , most of the time they die being over altruistic and it's only a very small percentage that actually genrush instead of troll with a toxic build
Not that I'm denying the advantages they do get from comms but it's not as significant as some might believe and sometimes being on comms and miscommunication can get you killed faster than if you were just solo
-
Well the fact that you take the time to hop back in the locker for the double whammy instead of getting away probably has something to do with it,
Always remember kids if you bring this combo bring a firecracker as a going away present for the second stun, they enjoy it so much

Hi :)
I started playing a week ago after my brother asked me for years. I absolutely love the game so much fun however I get super anxious and nervous for letting my teammates down. I think its a girl thing.
I usually RPGs and Wildhunt + DLCs are my absolute favourites <3
Just know that there are new players out there that could get super sad if "yelled" at.
Oki take care!!
Welcome to the emotional rollercoaster known as Dead By Daylight! The best advice I can give you is to play however makes you happy and have the most fun, everyone makes mistakes even the best of the best at this game so don't take it to heart when you mess up or people get upset , this is just a game that captivates people so much that they get a little carried away at times, if you're on console turn messages from non friends off for a better experience then once you get used to the game and enjoy the salt being thrown you can bathe in it and save a pinch for your morning coffee for that extra taste of survivor/killer tears.
-
Yea I've been noticing delay in the stun when you head on, I used it the yesterday and after I vaulted out the killer turned around and swung after I was already running and then the stun registered late and gave me points, maybe the hit validations theyre messing with are also coinciding with stuns ? That's the only thing I can think of

There was nothing "buggy" about the game we were playing. The Claudette just disconnected the second I downed her. And I DO blame people for bad sportsmanship. I play every game to the bitter end. If you are EVER in a game and you see Mr. Moundshroud has disconnected either my internet went down or my heart went out. It is so disrespectful and has so little dignity.
While I agree with what you're saying and I hate DC probably just as much, I've just learned to get over it BHVR should already have the bots that replace people 4 years into this game instead of the disaster in place now, while I myself would never disconnect intentionally I mean you never know what's happening on the other end of that , one time I afk in a match because my wife was having a medical emergency and I saw that I was slugged with crows when I walked back through the room and DC to take care of the real problem going on , got all kinds of insults but I don't care I didn't DC from the start to give people points but I had much more important things at hand
-
This game is so buggy I don't blame either side if they choose to DC and I for one never DC and I'm for the penalty being there, I play on console every now and again and this last update totally f'd everything up to the point I'm just sticking to PC until it's optimized so I feel kinda sorry for those who only have that as an option at this time

Lmao as fun as that sounds I think I'll pass

SWF was added after the game had been made to appeal to more people. Now most people are survivor mains and most survivor mains play SWF because it's basically cheating lol.
It also has the nasty side effect of making solo survivor frustrating when you know if you had your friends you could just be bullying the killer. Solo is more exciting tho, im really not sure which i prefer because i don't care that much about winning. I think the killer should get a buff but i don't know what the buff should be and i don't think the devs care much because again, the game was designed for solo survivors ONLY. They have a long time to adjust it accordingly lol. Maybe they can't think of anything either. It should at least tell you who's together because that information alone can help you make in game choices, like putting a trap in front of a person on the hook. Some bonus BP too
They've stated plenty of times it was always in the plans to add SWF if it became popular enough

It's a video game that's multiplayer and anyone can play however they want to have fun even you if you decide to bring iri heads and a Mori every single game which is totally possible I have over 300 of each on my huntress , it still doesn't change that people play the damn game to have fun not be in some boring hold m1 simulator and play like a square the whole match trying to have manners in a video game because "feelings", who would've thought people play games to have fun?
-
Look I get your frustrations and as a 50/50 player I'll tell you that slinger isn't OP , it's ok that you have that opinion though because it might just be a bad match for the way you play , try running spine chill or mixing things up a bit it could help you find something that works for you and improves your play

A scummy thing to do but not ban worthy, sandbagging is not a bannable offense.
Sandbagging is bannable but what was in the video looked more like other survivors working with the killer to point the streamer out which also is bannable, there's a FAQ that clearly states what you should report
-
It's really only a problem when the killer leaves them there as a free kill and doesn't do anything knowing they can't get out

I haven't seen it, what perks you and the Legion were using? It happened at the PTB or at the live server? How often it occurs?
It only happened in one match but it was random during the whole match healing or repairing , I was running spine chill, resilience, borrowed time, quick and quiet but that's besides the point there's nothing he could run to have that happen , it was on PC live servers not the ptb
-
@Pior_Morte said:
Lmao, you have to report this in the "Bug Reporting" section. Also, do you have any screenshots?
No because I didn't know when it was going to happen and I didn't want to screw my team trying to screenshot a skill checks lol I reported it but I was just asking if anyone else has seen it?

So I was feeling really good about myself and figured i would try to play nurse so I could go back to hating life and came across something interesting.
I blinked in front of a locker. I then got head on stunned. Then after the stun i had to sit though the fatigue, plus i missed my attack.
That was like 5 seconds of doing nothing. Is this supposed to be like this? Just curious
Unfortunately yes, you have to pick and choose your blinks very wisely as nurse otherwise you will spend a good portion of the game looking at the ground recovering

Oh whoops. I meant as a killer. As a survivor, who you get as teammates depends entirely on the rank of the killer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1566242#Comment_1566242
I feel as though console players get to rank 1 by gen rushing or playing strategically better. I rarely encounter a rank 1 console player that is good at looping.
There are console players who are good at looping, saving, etc. But sadly there aren't many that I've seen , it comes down to some of these people gen rushing and hook bombing with BT but not being good at anything else, the game registers they've unhooked, healed someone, done a gen, done a totem and at least interacted with the killer or taken a protection hit and they pip up automatic whether they die or not, PC complains about genrush but I would say console deals with it more nearly every game with prove thyself and resilience on at least 2 survivors in the group

Get rank 1. I rarely find console players at rank 1 while there are console players everywhere at purple and green ranks.
This is a lie , I play on PC switch and PS4 there are plenty of good players at rank one on console but the problem is there are way more potatoes who don't care about anything in the game and will just DC if you look at them the wrong way

I think it's a difference in mentality. Console gamers are generally here for a good time and aren't as competitive. Yes, there are some hardcore players on consoles but most of them I see, and I'm using Siege as an example here, use some sort of additional tool to use M&KB rather than just switching to PC.
You're correct, what alot of people don't realize is a PC gamer is just a console gamer that upgraded and decided to take gaming more seriously , it's very rare to find someone who can say they've never played on a console before, but that's why the PC gamers are more competitive , when you have people who were hardcore into gaming enough to ditch their console and drop 1000-3000 on a nice PC for better frames and gaming experience in general then of course majority of that base is gonna be more competitive and have more adept players in general

dude, as long as queue is as survivor now, I don't blame them for rather having you have wasted your own ten minutes in queue than themselves if they can drop the killer on you and get to play alittle bit longer. I started doing the same thing myself. It's not cheating, the game was originally designed for randoms trying to survive, and naturally, you would try to survive by any means necessary. That includes getting somebody else killed so you can stay alive when the option presents itself. There is a reason very few people are that selfless, we refer to it as "natural selection". Meaning those sort of mindsets don't keep you alive very long, and by extension, able to feed, nurture, and protect your offspring. So being Too "altruistic" is not something likely to be common, since it wasn't often passed on and when it was it was at a massive disadvantage when competing with selfishness. There is no right or wrong, those are social constructs, there is only do or don't do. And sandbagging is something I will do until I stop having ten minute (sometimes more) queues.
Body blocking and hitting your own team with pallets is actually reportable when you're intentionally doing it
-
@deadbybums said:
Ive genuinely never had to report people for cheating as often as I have since cross play. So many games totally worthless playing against people who are blatantly helping killers.
I have reported people through the in game report feature but how often is something done about those reports..?
I had a match this morning where a random Meg put on the runner mask in the lobby and helped the killer out the whole match body blocking, throwing pallets on people in chase etc it's starting to get old
-
I've had to quit playing console recently because if I have a major fps drop my game will freeze and DC me on PS4 , I play on PC more so it's really not a problem but it feels bad for people with that as their only option to have to deal with that and they just want to cross play and have quick games , I know it's not everyone on PS4 but there are quite a few people I play with there that are having issues getting kicked or just freezing in place in game and then ending up downed when it unfreezes or vaulting a window running away getting downed out of nowhere and being sucked across the map back to the window, there's alot of wonky stuff going on right now I'd say some people may be DC but I'd say a good majority of them are having issues

Gaining an advantage from outside of the game that allows players to get free information without the use of in game abilities is cheating. It is literally having an extra perk slot or two.
Stop justifying your inability to properly play the game fairly. And no, it wasn’t always designed to be apart of the game, if it was then the Devs would have implemented an in game communications for Survivors and balanced the game around it.
Again, the only reason they don’t punish it is because of money.
I play the game solo or swf and I also don't dodge a swf when I play killer rank 1 on PC , I'd say playing campfire simulator Everytime you "think" someone is in a swf isn't playing the game properly, if you want bots that are a easy 4k go play training mode on mobile
-
@AvisDeene said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1552431#Comment_1552431
It is cheating. The game isn’t designed for communication between Survivors. It isn’t an “excuse”. The only reason the Devs allow it is because they know they’ll lose a good chunk of revenue if they took it out of them game.
They've said it's always designed to be there and voice chat isn't cheating , quit making excuses for your decision not to play against it , it holds no value when the devs have already discredited everything you've said, am I denying there's an advantage? No but it's definitely not cheating no matter how many times you say it
-
@AvisDeene said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1552160#Comment_1552160
Never said they were. But the justification for wanting to avoid people who cheat (SWF are cheating) is greater than DCing because you don’t like a specific map or Killer.
Swf isn't cheating the devs have stated that plenty of times and even said it was always intended to be apart of the game come up with a new excuse

She had a directional phasing sound (audible while you were in the Terror Radius too) and a much longer power recharge time.
Not only was it impossible to surprise Survivors with her power, it took her much longer to get it back after using it - leaving her as a 110% M1 Killer in the mean time.
-
Spirit was not stronger on the PTB.
Well my point from the start was just because people say he's garbage doesn't mean anything he's only been out a few hours now and nobody has mastered how to use him yet and he's still subject to change nothing is guaranteed
-
It's best utilized in a snowball situation when the killer has the pressure on you can completely jerk the rug out from under them and reset everything if more than two survivors are injured or getting a quick bt save from the hook at the endgame to get everyone out , it's definitely got it's uses but it won't be a meta perk for the conditional aspect of it

No she wasn't the only thing people complained about were sounds , her ptb state then is stronger than the sprirt we have now just for the no window animation and prayer bead add on she had, not to mention she had collision with survivors while phasing

It's pretty easy to see if say, a killer or a perk is bad just by reading what it does and how it performs the few first matches.
You don't need to eat the molded bread to to figure out if it's bad.
If it looks bad it's probably bad...
People said the same about the spirit when she dropped and now she's considered top tier, sometimes just because something looks bad doesn't mean it is
-
Let's just say my PC is a 2000 dollar PC and the frames are dropping so much I feel like I'm playing on PS4 right now , I don't think I'll be back on console till this changes because it's pretty bad not gonna lie

Bring botany? 33% at all times plus the efficiency bonus. We don't need to test the perks to know they are bad. They aren't as complicated as a killer power. It's simple: get some healing speed when someone dies, replenish some charges and Deja Vu 2.0.
Tier three is 20% stacks for healing and unhooking speed , the killer admittedly has better perks but desperate measures isn't a bad perk and is better than botany knowledge when things are going bad it's like a built in well make it without the unhook requirement and that's pretty strong
-
You haven't even had time to properly test it and you're already bashing it? People are hating on the survivor perks but desperate measures is looking pretty nice so far for me I'm getting pretty good use of it
-
Desperate measures seems like it has potential to be a game changer in the right build

New killer perks are awesome , hex undying is gonna make hex perks a nightmare instead of a joke now, gotta cleanse the devour hope lullaby or ruin 4 times now depending on how many totems lol or how many hex

I sometimes find myself against dedicated flashlight survivors, but when i do it feels hopeless.
The group stick together, and when i grab someone i don't have enough time to turn around or look up.
Should i just slug? i dislike doing it since a single guy alive can revive everyone if i ######### up, and no hooks means no progress.
Its not common enough to use a perk slot with lightborn, as it will be wasted most matches.
Any tips? I try facing walls but the last match i had in the swamp either there were no walls or the angle was not enough to avoid blind. I felt hopeless.
Run infectious fright it's a great perk for applying pressure and revealing the flashlight user so you can make the pick up safely

Yes, if you self care twice you've cost the team 1 generator time, but if you are healed by another twice, you've still cost the team 1 generator time.
2 survivors - 100% healing and not doing gens (16+16+16+16) is just as much loss in time as 1 survivor - 50% healing not doing gens (32+32), and if that surv can instead pop on gen with others while you self care, the gen will go faster having more people on it. Actually aiding to heal a survivor with self care is negative gen time in this instance.
No not when you're popping the gens before being healed, it's only 16 seconds to heal a survivor over 32 for yourself and if you ran even inner strength instead of self care and got totems like you were supposed to it's only 8 seconds in a locker after a gen , free Instaheal for doing an objective you should be doing compared to self care where you get a totem anyway and then still spend 32 seconds (if there's no sloppy or Thana) healing in an unsafe area
It's really a no brainer, self care is inefficient it's just that people don't trust who they're with or don't want to be injured doing objectives, the only time self care is effective is when trying to heal for an endgame save when you're solo/have more than one random
-
I'm not saying people who run self care are bad because that's not true but I'm saying self care users waste more time healing and doing nothing more than a survivor who if they're truly safe could just finish a gen with someone and get healed up or run inner strength and knock out two birds with one stone
If you heal more than twice in a match with self-care you've literally cost your team more than a whole generators worth of time and most self care users immediately heal when they get safe anytime being injured instead of doing objectives and taking a risk
-
I've had some PC killers DC on me while I'm playing on console and before someone says how do I know? Their name had PC in it I know naming and shaming isn't allowed so I'll just say that it was blatantly obvious from what the rest of their name was they were on PC instead of a console , my point is there are bad players and good players everywhere and on console it's so bad with optimization that you can't tell if they blue screened or the crashed or if they actually DC sometimes, if anything this should open the devs eyes to how bad console optimization is needed, me myself having most my hours on PC I can tell you it runs nowhere near as good on console

-
Use it as a team and help each other out and coordinate certain main buildings or looping areas, it can be alot of fun that way but will get you killed if you get carried away or aren't smart about how you use it think of it like the locker is your pallet when you've got other people running it
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
If you self care on the spot, it is more efficient than even walking 1 metre to find a survivor to heal you.
Self care = 32 seconds of your time
Healed by a team mate = 16 seconds of your time + 16 seconds of a team mates time = 32 seconds.
What about these survivors that don't run self care and then run all around the map looking for someone to heal them. I'd take the self-care team-mate over those players.
You can't self-care on the spot if you're evading a killer so by the time you get to a safe area to start healing you could've found a teammate and done it in half the time and you're not gonna be in a unsafe part of the map doing nothing for half a minute then having to find a gen when usually a teammate is on a gen and can heal you after you pop it if you're truly in a safe spot to heal

honestly rank 1 as survivor is super easy with some game knowledge... You can run it of course, no one has to play by any rules, but its just not true that they are needed.
Im Rank 1 survivor with a max of 80 hours on survivor. I only play survivor when I do challenges and I still win the majority of my games without DS.
My favorite Build:
Dance With me
Lightweight
Lithe
Quick and Quiet
You can run most killers for ages without any perks involved
I really dont get why people think meta perks are needed.
Guess its because DBD is a casual game and people refuse to get good (both sides tbh)
It's because they want to have fun, that want to interact with the killer and not end the game in three minutes by holding m1 not doing anything else, those second chance perks give them the ability to have some fun and play more risky because like you said you can already win without them easy so why not throw them in the mix and get a few good laughs?
-
Who cares what people say it's a video game, don't not have fun or do something you feel like doing just because of the way people perceive it , I run meme builds or a hole builds all the time sometimes it gets me smacked and other times it helps but I have fun either way and that's all that matters to me
-
There is no platform that's better than another when it comes to skill, frames make certain killers easier to use on PC but that's about the gist of it , I've been going back and forth inviting friends from PS4 to PC and PC to PS4 trying to introduce some friends , I haven't tested the switch cross platform yet though I do have it, but either way the skill I notice is the same and some of these people claiming superiority and saying they're wrecking the others are facing bots or people with extremely bad frames
