I have it off unless Im in a full swf or playing with console friends, but when I'm solo I keep it off I seem to get better randoms when I stick to pc
-
Dude it's probably not even a swf , solo matchmaking is so ######### right now everytime I play it the ranks are all over the charts , I legit think the game just throws you with someone at this point and doesn't consider rank
-
Calling perks crutches and calling people who beat you bad is like telling someone they're using crutches for having a 50 cal sniper in COD and telling them they're bad for killing you with it , same difference except one community can't take a loss without making every excuse in and out of the book on why they lost, refusing to accept responsibility for their faults it's like a bunch of children in a toy store , they say that bad survivors and killers use x y and z perks to carry them but in all reality without those perks the survivors or killers aren't gonna play the same way they would with them, survivors aren't gonna try and make a killer eat DS if they don't have it they'll play different, it's irrelevant to call anything legal in game a crutch

Maybe not in low ranks. High they do.
I see so many killers and survivors say most red ranks are boosted so which is it? Are they all optimally sound death squads or are most of them bots? You can't have both and from my experiences most of them are potatoes and one or two survivors can literally win matches for the killer by playing so bad their team can't recover from it, I don't care how good you are at the game if you have bad teammates you will lose as a survivor

Well the fact that he is a base speed killer makes it super hard to try and keep distance so trying to leave a loop still results in a m1. I dont really like to run spine chill because in my opinion there is better perks to run. By the time spine chill goes off he is too close to make good distance from his ranged attack.
You said yourself you don't run it, give it a try I think you'd be surprised how much distance you get
-
Flashlights are easy peasy, just get a decent distance but not too far cover the killers character model with your own and look slightly up then click and it should work everytime
-
@Dr_Spek said:
I really need to know what is his counter play. Because as far as I see you can go for a pallet/window and take a hit from his power or you can not take the pallet/window and take a m1 hit. I love playing killer but when I play survivor I wonder what Pyramid head counter play is.
Distance is key against a pyramid head , if you allow him to get close enough while you're injured that's when you get caught in the "if I take this window I'm dead and if I don't he'll just m1 me down" situation, but try running spine chill for a while get some distance to find your safety and break LOS when you can , if you get hit it's better to run through a pallet than to drop it and just use the speed boost to get out of that area then do what's necessary to stay up from there on , a big problem is that people want to loop in a general area with pyramid head because he feels like a m1 killer you're against but that's when you end up in the uncounterable situation by him gaining that distance on you injured

The longer the timer has passed the lesser the stunning effect.
I think that would work nicely.
What if it were based on how accurate your skillcheck was and if it was at the end or beginning it's the short stun but if you hit it directly in the center it's the 5 second stun
-
Maybe I'm biased because I main her but Nurse is hands down the best killer in the game it's not even close either , she's the only killer that can shutdown even the strongest loop in a matter of seconds and a slugging infectious fright nurse is an absolute nightmare for any swf because everything they have "fun" doing to other killers isn't gonna work on the nurse, I'll never forget I used to think the nurse was terrible when she first came out but then I started playing people who got good with her and I immediately fell in love
-
Good Lord , I never thought I'd see someone so intelligent that they would think continually slugging a no mither is good strategy, apparently this man's brain cells have left the chat folks

I'm running BBQ, nurses calling, spies from the shadows and tinkerer. None of them are at tier 3 yet. I may try whispers...but it's not at tier 3 either. I P1 her and am planning to P3 her just because.
Try infectious fright, nurses calling, discordance, and corrupt intervention
That's the build I use on her, I prefer discordance over BBQ because the nurse is fast enough to take advantage of the information and stop the gen from being completed meanwhile basically handing you 2 survivors, so you have discordance to alert you to multiple survivors , then infectious and nurses to start a slugfest, and corrupt slows the game down just enough at the beginning and puts them in a certain area it's almost like crowd control if you would think of it like that because I'm controlling which gens can be started first
-
@28_stabs said:
You must be good at guessing to be a good Nurse.
See this is a big misconception about the nurse , you always want to try and blink where you last saw the survivor or right behind them , the most important thing to identify when playing nurse is, is the survivor a double backer or does he full send it in the direction he's running? Also choose your blinks wisely and let yourself recharge to 2 blinks it's very easy when starting out to get carried away and waste blinks when you haven't recovered yet

thats the thing its the people who use the perk, not the perk itself. For example if im running self care botany dead bt, then i could easily go for a save and heal that person very quickly and we can do a gen until we get chased, due to me being injured, killer chases me and i heal up mid chase, to either make healing faster for when im out of chase or give myself another health state to keep running a killer
Yea coupled with botany , you have to waste extra perk slots and a good killer isn't gonna allow you to get healed in front of them like that, if you can self-care and fully heal mid chase on a killer that man is super boosted no if ands or buts about that
-
@MadLordJack said:
You don't want them Botany heals? Fine by me. I'll just go ahead and keep me and my team healthy all trial, you can go be injured Nancy.
Also, you really cannot blame someone for not going for the unhook while 1-shot, not unless someone else is clearly getting chased. That's like saying "why don't you die with me?" I'm not a fan of SC-In-The-Corner but I'm also not irrational.
Let's be real about it though, people who run self care refuse to stay injured to do any objectives that's why they run the perk at all , while I can agree certain builds make it useful if you aren't running a trio of support perks you're literally wasting time self caring and for those who say "it's basic math that self care is more efficient" they aren't adding in thanatophobia or sloppy butcher and they aren't doing a gen before they try to heal so objectives aren't getting done, pallets are being used and the self care user is healing for an eternity any time they're injured instead of helping the team try and escape, the gens can all be done in 3-4 minutes if survivors actually do them instead of BS'ing for half the match
-
@Hopesfall said:
Self care is good if used properly.. I don't get the hate. I can go heal up while the others can work on a gen, and I can do it far away from everyone else so the killer doesn't get multiple hits if he finds us healing. Even if sloppy/thana are in play, if the gen count is low.. what's the issue? If someone injured w/sloppy just rushes a gen and killer shows up, there's a person on a hook which now the other teammates have to stop what they're doing and fix that..
self caring while someone is on 2nd hook phase is one thing.. it's another when they are out of the way handling business
You are trading health states for pallets and not doing any gens in the process, when you run self care whoever is running the killer long enough for a self-care through sloppy butcher is carrying you, there are soooo many more efficient ways to heal, self care kills the squad and killers will just smack you once they realize you have it so you'll go hide and heal for an eternity while they pressure the other survivors meanwhile the pallets are getting used and generators not being completed

With those perks you have it's obvious you aren't a noob, also there isn't even a single red rank in that game I would hardly call it a sweat squad , not a single DS or unbreakable being ran

So last night, I was in a match and had no clue I was being streamed. I played normally and I thought I actually did pretty well, but after I died I saw they were a ttv killer and I usually check them for feedback. I go and see that this person is making fun of me while being chased and such, and I actually feel really bad about it. I don't know, I get that it's all in good fun, but sometimes seeing people commenting on how bad you are really gets in the way of how you play. Has anyone else had this happen? And is there any advice for a relatively new survivor (5-6 months)?
These are the same people who cry when they get beat and complain to their viewers making excuses for losses and will blame perk combos that weren't really a factor in the loss, if I were you I would let it roll off and hopefully the next time you play them you'll win and you can drop a GG in the chat it always gets them going
-
All killers have the same size hit box is why
-
@SMitchell8 said:
I've barely used them and I don't really understand them. Are they any good?
They can be good but it can also be really bad because if you break the wrong wall you've opened a infinite loop
-
Dude if you brought that back dead dawg saloon would be ten times worse than haddonfield ever thought of being, any of the crotus maps, hawkins, midwich, new thompson house etc... Would all have infinites in them that could be abused , they've changed it so it doesn't hold them back on map design because with that perk you can only do so much before its just busted though I will agree it needs something more than its current state
-
Bad idea, I can already hear people berating each other over something in game, or what perks they used, not saving them off the hook , etc... Endgame chat is already toxic enough there will be people doing ear ######### ######### just to annoy other players
-

Devs could allow killers to instantly end games as soon as at least one of exit gates is open.
Killers could just hit Esc key on keyboard and choose "End match" ingame button.
But you know our devs. Smoll indie company cant be this creative. :^)
They do have that already it's called a DC LMAO

@ringwinning said:
As a killer, am I supposed to just finish the loop and take the pallet? Should I use enduring if I have it? (Ii'm currently leveling multiple killers at a time)
The best advice I can give is to get rid of the pallet early so it can't be used later on, alot of killers will respect pallets but I don't at all , I'll eat that pallet just to get it out of the game and make a dead zone, it's hard to get used to at first but try to get good at juggling chases and gen pressure in the early game , make them waste a couple pallets (or down them if it's easily achieved ) and then go back to pressuring gens keeping in mind where the 4 closest gens are from the beginning, when you get better at this you will find yourself at an advantage when gens do start getting done there won't be as much safety left and gens are all close together

And who cares about those people? They're small and few so they will not impact que times. You're talking about the 1% so it's a nonissue. The majority would just readjust and the overall health of the game would definitely improve with these changes.
Hey that's your opinion and you're entitled to have one, I'll just say I've got 9000 hours in this game I've seen every single up and down it's ever had , I wouldn't put anything past this community
-
@Slickstyles said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1628528#Comment_1628528
You're saying that people would actually go out of their way to this instead of readjusting? That takes time and that's time that they can actually play the game. Also, when people did this, the game was region locked with a much smaller playerbase. Let's not ignore the details.
People did it then and they would do it again is what I'm getting at and it would overall make the que times go up, I'm not saying your idea is terrible it's just something that people will find a way to ######### up so they can have it their way just like before

"what's stopping them from running whatever they want and just getting on comms with the other survivors in the lobby when they load in?" I was talking about this cr*p you said, not about friends trying to be on the same lobby lol you're funny
I'm just stating "if" you made this nerf , you would restart that old trend and have what I'm talking about happen, you're crazy if you don't think survivors would find a way to exploit that
-
@Slickstyles said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1628484#Comment_1628484
I'd rather have a 4 solo quer's with the same broken second chance perks than a SWF with those same second chance perks. Hell, I've gotten those lobbies before and the uncoordinated plays were a lot easier to deal with.
You're also saying that players will add each other on steam and then dm each other their discords so they can VC within the time span of 1 minute? That will never happen and it's a very unreasonable thought process.
As to your third point about this game dying and more interaction, go make your own post on that. This is about nerfing SWF's. Stop hijacking the thread to make this about what you want out of this game.
I'm not hijacking anything and I can have whatever ######### opinion I want, deal with it
-
@aregularplayer said:

sure. everytime I come in a lobby all solo survivors send me discord servers and I promptly enter all of them in order to comunicate with strangers just to win a stupid match in a stupid videogame. pls.
People used to leave every lobby until they found one with friends before swf was even here , or have you not even been here long enough to know that? what's stopping this from happening?
-
This will just make people stop playing the second they realize they can't play whatever they want, and also you're not thinking it through very well because if the devs start balancing around this idea then when solo players come into your lobby they will all run every second chance and broken perk possible , also what's stopping them from running whatever they want and just getting on comms with the other survivors in the lobby when they load in? In my opinion there should be more to the game than what's currently there and there should be more interactable objects it's starting to whittle away to where there is no fun because of how stale the objectives are...this game needs something more than what it's currently offering or I see it dying in 2 more years because by then another game like it will be out on a next gen console, but hopefully the devs figure a way to majorly improve the overall experience and we're all still here talking about it when that comes

Balanced landing is one of the weaker exhaustion perks, so no.
Urban evasion also isn't that good.
Balanced Landing used to be the best perk when it gave the stagger reduction even while exhausted, @Runiver was right though I'm not sure why a 2018 thread got bumped ?

I don't mind something that's loud as long as it fits better because the way they've made it sound now I feel like I should be able to drop that ######### in one of the Autohaven Buicks and drive out

Yeah but even those good Survivors are manageable. SWF Bully Squads with Object, Sprint Burst, Decisive and Unbreakable and good Med Kit's with Styptic's and Syringes (maybe a key). That's rare and it's not logical to include this kind of stuff into actual balance since it's like 0.5 % of the Player Base. You run into this bs in 1 out of 25 or 30 Matches, if not rarer.
I find that the bully squads die more from over alturism
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
"he cannot camp cages anymore so be happy for that", well, he can. It is not that hard to predict where a Cage will spawn (except you are right in the middle) and the Cage will not disappear until PH is really close.
Also, most people are not saying that he is OP (which he is not), but having no Cooldown on cancelling his Power and the high Cooldown for using his power means that you are better off by cancelling his power than actually using it. Which is not good game design.
This right here is the best explanation I've seen , right on point
-
There are plenty of good players on both sides who didn't even enter the tourney, but everyone knows gen times make survivors the power role you have to either have a perfect game or catch them in alot of mistakes to capitalize on the best squads
Now I'm not the best killer in the world but a few years back I played against marths depip squad about 4 times in a 3 month span and actually 3kd one of the times while getting roll stomped with 1-2k in the others , the 3k I got was with my nurse and the other times I played billy, hag, and doctor. Even though I got wrecked the other times I still hold it proud that my nurse beat them even just once , it's totally possible to beat even the best with them making mistakes and you having a S/A tier killer but the reason this game isn't a real tournament type game and never will be is that you're relying on someone else's mistakes and only like 4 killers on the roster can consistently capitalize on those mistakes
-
It's a very underated perk, it's strong against the best killers in the game because they will almost always slug if given the opportunity, one perk can erase mistakes and reset the whole squad
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
people act like every SWF = tournament squad which is 100% wrong
even in hexy's tournament, only like 3-4 teams are really good
Not everyone who is good at the game is entering these tourneys , while I'll agree most squads aren't that great as a overall unit there are plenty who are good enough to win it all who don't even enter because they either don't know about it until it's already happening or they dont have the time to enter due to work or kid related activities
-
If you want to save your back put your router on a higher surface so it's easier to reach lol
-
You're correct for the most part, most swf would rather troll than genrush but it doesn't change the fact that when they decide to seperate and do the gens unless you're a S/A tier killer you're out of luck, there simply isn't enough time for killers with no map pressure to stop it in time , I don't care how good you are at juggling gens and chases , if they aren't bots two-three gens should pop just over a minute into the game
-
If you're not a nurse main yet you definitely should be, to me that's hands down the funnest killer in the game , once you get good with her she can make you feel more powerful than any other killer by a long shot the only downside to getting good with her is every other match you're gonna have a DC as soon as the survivors realize they can't bully you, they had better be on those gens if they don't want play worm simulator
-
@TKTK said:
Idk why the devs don't let us open a KYF solo and just practice on whatever maps we want without having to invite someone.
That's basically what training mode on mobile is with bots , you get half the normal blood points and the killer you face is picked at random, it would give alot more incentive for someone to play killer more often, right now there are a ton of survivor only players who never touch killer and that could easily change with an update like this
-
@SweetTerror said:
I completely agree. The fact that dead by daylight doesn't teach you how to play the game is one of it's biggest failures. The fact that newer players have no choice but to seek out online guides or streamers to teach them how to play because the game doesn't provide that for them, let alone a way for them to practice, is disappointing to say the least.
The practice mode on the mobile game has been successful, so why there can't be one for the main game is beyond me.
Yea I mean it's a no brainer to add it in order to keep new players around and counter DC I can't believe it's only being considered instead of a iron clad "it's gonna be in the game" answer

Honestly it depends on the killer and map , sometimes the killer has an advantage and other times like trying to beat a 4 man swf on ormond with clown the survivors have a huge advantage, majority of the time the survivors will have an advantage of they spread out on gens and actually focus on them
-
Make the perk give anyone within 4 meters a 25 percent speed buff on unhooking and then a 7 percent haste effect for you and the unhooker for 10 seconds after being unhooked and it will make the perk reliable but not too strong
