What an insane take this is.

Honestly crazy that there is hardware elitism in here that's the cringiest thing ever.

That's not what I'm saying but sure bro however you want to spin it, I'm just saying you can't call someone a cheater when you're running it on a toaster and someone else's game runs way better than yours in nearly all aspects because they did what was recommended

  • @Seoul said:

I’m not sure what j-flick is but I play on PS5 and before that PS4 and I’ve not experienced any issues? Hmm. Are you calling me cheap for having a PS5? :0

No I'm saying if you complain about optimization problems or sensitivity maybe you should've invested in a pc , I mean you can't go to the dollar store buy some off brand soda and then complain that it's not as good as the real deal when you did it to yourself

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

I mean I don't think J flicks should be removed, but what is that argument?

"You don't get to criticise something you can't do because you bought a console that SHOULD have the game optimised anyway but because it's BHVR optimisation is non existent".

I'm really failing to see your point.

J flicks shouldn't be removed because it does nothing but benefit the game by increasing blights skill ceiling and makes him a viable killer.

My point is that they are pissed saying it's an exploit when it's literally the hardware preventing them from having the same sensitivity, you can't say someone is cheating because they bought the game on an intended platform and it works better than the one you have

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2074690#Comment_2074690

It is, by dictionary defintion, an exploit but please keep pretending it isn't.

    How exactly is it?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Yep, I'm all for this, and everyone I know who wants j-flick removed also wants stretched res removed, and people who are fine with stretched also are fine with the j-flick.

Personally, I still think we should remove both

The j flick isn't an exploit though it's literally consoles hardware holding them back from having the same sensitivity. Stretched res needs to go though there's no excuse for that

  • @DawnMad said:

So people complaining about Trickster means they made an amazing killer? People complaining about Blight's new collision means it's perfect and people are just blind? I agree with the DS nerf but "people complain about it so it's good" mindset is just rude, the people who wants overpowered stuff to win games is the minority here. Many people complain about the DS nerf because now a lot more killers are tunneling and the perk is as weak as always at preventing it, and since now a lot less people are using it Solo Queue because rougher than ever.

Swf is a must with the current state of the game unless you want someone DC when they get caught or giving up on hook immediately, solo has been a nightmare for me I've started only playing survivor when I have friends on because other people frustrate me too much with their lack of intelligence

  • @bm33 said:

People have been complaining about survivors giving up/suiciding on hook since before the All-Kill chapter. It hasn't increased, just wanting to put blame on DS nerf. It's like when crossplay was introduced and pc started blaming console and vice versa for things that have always been complained about plenty but saying it was now happening more and the other platforms fault.

I'm not blaming the nerf I'm fine with it but I feel like my teammates when playing solo just totally throw the game now when they get caught and it was never this bad before for me , maybe it's just a bad couple days not sure but it's #########

  • @Hektic3000 said:

Ds isn't abusable anymore so many survivors feel like its not worth it to run anymore. Since they aren't running it there's no obsession in the match and that is a clear indication to the killer that they can kill survivors faster. Everyone killing themselves on hook shows that they relied on an unfair perk to play the game and now that they cant they want to ruin matches for their teammates.

This is absolutely true I can attest that half of my teammates just give up every game now and make it a 2v1 , I'm not playing solo until these people phase themselves out its ruining the game for me

  • I still play several times a week but I use to be on this game non stop sweating my ass off playing killer, over the last few months I've started drifting away from the game and finding better games to play that aren't broken.

  • I'm starting to think that as well but the bad thing is that if this continues the devs will almost surely do something to compensate for the change , it may not be a revert but it will probably come in the form of a new perk that is insanely strong or a new type of mechanic , you can't have all the deaths I've been seeing recently and it not skew the data and I know I'm not the only one noticing it

  • @Viskod said:

I see people outright disconnecting more than suicide on hook.

If a game starts and a survivor and I bump into each other right at the start and I get an early hook, I see a lot of people just disconnect the moment they are downed.

Yea solo q is a nightmare right now , if my peeps aren't online I'm playing something different because there's no point in trying to play a normal game when half of my team rips the plug out of the wall with only one gen completed

  • Being toxic is what makes this game money if it were any other way you would be waiting an hour for a match is the truth

  • They just need to bring bots into the game and get it over with, a practice mode would let newer players get a better footing before a public trial or just to practice when you aren't having good games and feel off

  • Who cares if it's toxic I'm not here to hold their hand and make sure they had a fun time my job is to finish them all off before it gets to the end of the trial

Freddy not the best killer in the game? You're funny.

Freddy is a A tier killer at best, the thing that even keeps freddy in the tier he's in currently is his gen teleportation, the map pressure and slowdown add ons he has are his bread and butter , if you took just those two things away from him he would be a weak killer

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2051901#Comment_2051901

I know that. But what has an early game mechanic to do with spreading hooks? Losing early gens or not, i should still focus on making it a 3vs1. Its a different issue.

You could say that making the game more balanced with an early game mechanic, would allow the devs to nerf tunneling. But i think you cant nerf tunneling that hard that killer would start spreading hooks without an incentive. Such a strong anti-tunneling-mechanic would break the game.

Because the suggestion you're making is to add a debuff to the survivors to make gen times longer based on who has been hooked and longer gen times is not the answer , nobody wants to hold m1 for nearly 2 minutes without a meaningful interaction, a change like that would be devastating to solo que where it's already hard enough to have a team who actually does the gens, I just don't think it's a very well thought out idea though I will say it's not a terrible idea

  • @TicTac said:

hooking would inflict a debuff to the hooked survivor (1 hook = 90sec gens, 2 hooks = 100sec gen)

Or would you need different numbers?

And how strong would it be compared to tunneling or having someone dead at 6 hooks?

I think tunneling would still be stronger, but it wouldnt be a problem to nerf it if spreading hooks would be viable.

The problem lies in the very first chase because if the survivors are good three will be on separate gens while one is getting chased and by the time the first goes down three gens should be popping, as a killer in the current state of the game you almost have to just pick the 4 closest gens from the beginning and plan for your endgame, increasing gen times will drive players away and the game is fairly close to being balanced at this point so you cant do anything that's too overwhelming, SOMETHING needs to happen before you can start gens but what that something is Im not sure...

  • Ok then let's see some footage of you against a red rank squad I mean she's so easy you can just play the game and get the evidence immediately right? I'm beginning not to even take what people say on here with a grain of salt because it's just bait to argue otherwise you'd have a bunch of videos all ready to back up your claim that she's easy

  • @TheMadCat said:

That's why there are a lot of potatoes in red ranks, including me! 🙈

Lol hey I don't care what anyone says we're all potatoes at some point , sometimes even the best of the best players get clapped quick into the match and then other times it's like they're untouchable when on point, regardless of how some people on here try to say how EZ survivor is even they get smacked immediately sometimes even if they aren't willing to admit that.

  • Lol actually I'm not sure I just assumed they were talking about survivor

Honestly if you just play the game alot you'll end up at red ranks before you know it, just make sure you get a unhook, heal a teammate, do gens , get chased, and do at least one totem and you will pip everytime

First off I missed this flashlight (did it about 1 millisecond too early) but how did I get a beam from this angle. I didn't expect to get a beam so I just went to click the flashlight but as soon as I got a beam I kept blinding.

Everything possibly wrong with flashlights were in this attempt.

    • Nearly a 90° from the killer
    • Killer is Pyramid Head
    • On the killers left (survivor bodies can sometimes stop blinds)
    • No FOV increasing perks (only had Deathbound)

Take a look at this attempt and tell me how I got a beam here but not in the PH attempt I had in my earlier message.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IWKWP8MPVJ8I/20210324-090332.jpg

@The_Krapper did you do your tests? I'm very interested to hear what you think lad.

Yea I did get around to it actually and most of the time they work as intended but I'm starting to wonder if occasionally there's a desync when the killer picks the survivor up because occasionally I got a beam when I shouldn't have like you did in the most recent picture but also there were times where I feel I had to aim much higher than I should've to get the blind because it didn't work right normally , it's almost as if occasionally it desyncs with the map on where exactly the pick up is and where the FOV to blind is , over 90% of the time they worked as intended but there is definitely some sort of issue going on that I'm starting to think is cause by the pickup

  • It's the most successful when you have teammates with flashlights because the killer will almost always take time to make sure you aren't about to be flashlight saved if they know they're in the trial

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Might be a good Nurse perk, mayyyybe Spirit would be able to use it too, but apart from this I don't see it being a good perk in any build. It does look like a fun perk though.

I used it on nurse in the PTB, people are really sleeping on this perk it's very good on high mobility killers that can take advantage, all it takes is to be in the terror radius to activate it and there are plenty of times survivors are right around on gens when people go down and if you use infectious and either get the hook very close or immediately drop and start slugging the ones nearby, it can be pretty nasty in the right scenario.

  • I'm glad it's getting nerfed but at the same time is what they're doing too much? And I ask this because if the usage rate drops totally out and it's seldomly ever seen after this then the devs will almost surely buff it in some way again. I personally don't have a problem with the new DS but knowing the devs Im not sure if it's really time to celebrate yet.

I disagree. They are extremely difficult to do so if you can do then I think fair play to you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2037269#Comment_2037269

Maybe your right about the PH one but you can't deny the other angles are stupid (the ones I got). Tbh I've always felt like PH has a weirder blind compared to other killers. I fully believe if that was any other killer then I would've gotten that save, especially a few weeks ago.

I agree that the other side is better but I never had problems with locker saves before now all of a sudden I do. In my mind I believe they've done something to the blinding at side angles and that's why lockers are also affected by it.

It's worth looking into if there is a problem there it needs to be addressed, I'll start messing around with it and see if I can recreate it

  • @CashelP14 said:

Here is some old flashlight saves I got before I noticed a change. These were about 4 weeks till 2 weeks ago.

Btw the second one I'm certain had Monitor and Abuse. I've got a look more weird angles but these are the most noticable ones.

Here is an attempt since then where I get no beam.

Also look at these two pictures next to each other. First one was a save and the second one didn't give me a beam till the very last second.

@MandyTalk can you please check and confirm what's been changed please?

It's not been changed, your aim was slightly off on Phead and we would honestly need a video to be able to confirm you're having a issue and it's not just timing/aim causing it , I'm not saying you can't use a flashlight I'm sure you're good with one but it's just hard to really see the situation with those screenshots, one thing I will say is it's easier from the other side of the locker where the survivors butt isn't blocking the beam and the bottom picture you were too far over on the side , you need a more diagonal angle if you're gonna save from the side survivors body is on

Agreed, this guy has done amazing work, and honestly it suprises me

But how is he using the game model like that? He must have unreal engine or something I'm sure but how can you have a dev model of this game to just do what you want with? There's no way he's created everything from scratch there he's definitely using some kind of test model he can alter

  • I like up the ante but I feel like it would only be good against killers with iron grasp or mad grit who feel confident enough to try and hit the other survivor before attempting the hook, if anything it would just cause the killer to prioritize on the hook once they picked up if this were ever out into the live version, what if it gave you 3 extra vaults before the entity blocked the window or have you the old borrowed time effect where if you're unhooking a survivor it gives YOU the endurance status effect for 8 seconds , that way you could run it with BT and recreate the old borrowed time

  • The devs need to reach out to this content creator, the gameplay looks a bit odd but this is amazing! I'm curious to how they've gotten the exact dbd model to mess around with like that

They work perfectly fine when your face on. The thing is if your at a slight angle then it is extremely inconsistent. Locker blinds have 10000000% been changed recently I know that for certain.

Locker blinds have been easy peasy for me lately so Im not sure, me and my friend just ran head on and flashlights on yamoaka estate (or however it's spelled idc) and there are two lockers that spawn in the front by the opening in the middle hall , we both were trolling hopping in the locker and whoever would get pulled out the other would hop out and save and sometimes we head on them before they can pull us out just to mix it up lol try playing that little game with a friend if you can get a locker spawn like that, The killer will eventually just leave the area but it's good practice

  • It's actually not a bad idea , it needs a few tweaks but definitely worth the devs taking a look at. When I play killer I've totally quit using any hex perks for the simple fact the spawn points are broken and survivors will literally spawn in view of your hex sometimes and you might as well have brought just 3 perks at that point .

  • You said yourself gens flew by so fast but by the sound of it they didn't because you were chased twice and nodded off twice so maybe your teammates carried you that game and you were just unaware due to sleep deprivation, pop a melatonin and take a rest you'll feel like a million bucks when you wake up.

  • They work just fine for me , maybe m2 is going out on your mouse or if you have a controller the button is going out , it's also possible to have stick drift on a controller so you could be starting the blind correctly and then drifting slightly out of blinding territory, idk there's a number of things it could be but I don't think they are broken

  • @FunkyMunkey said:

Does Vigil reduce the 5 second exhaustion effect from Mindbreaker?

Yes it does but not by much

  • The nurse is the only true S tier killer

  • If you're talking about a double backing survivor I totally welcome that as a nurse main, shift w absolutely doesn't work against her or any of the other top tier killers and on top of that there's only like 2 maps it can work on even against low tier killers because the maps aren't physically big enough and the killer will be able to cut you off, there's a reason why Tru3 picked red forest and made the survivor get as far away as he did and it's because that is the biggest map in the game currently due to the fact it hasn't had a rework like most of the older maps, red forest and coldwind are the only older maps that haven't been touched as of yet.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Renaming running as "shift+w strat" has got to be one of the cringiest things I've ever seen in this community.

You're absolutely right! Years ago survivors would joke before all the nerfs that killers wouldn't stop complaining and there would always be something to complain about, they would joke that they just want them to run in straight lines and have no safety and now we're at a point where even that isn't enough and they want that gone as well, ive got over 5,000 hours in the killer side because that's where I started on this game and what brought me here in the first place, I can agree there are some things that need to be addressed and changed but BHVR really needs to stop catering to bad players on both sides of the spectrum to make them feel like they're better than they are.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Great another person that thinks that pointing something out equals calling something toxic.

On a serious note it's not that big of a problem. Just don't chase after the survivor that just got an injure speed boost while you stood still wiping your weapon and it's not that big a problem anymore.

I still stand that killers need to get rid of the mindset they need to chase a survivor from healthy to downed.

After a hit go back to finding another survivor and finish the one who ran away later

Or just don't chase a survivor who's got half the map length on you in distance while ignoring all the other survivors and gens along the way because that's pretty much what you would have to do for it to work

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

There's videos showcasing how freaking long it takes to catch up to a survivor if they just keep running in a straight line. Even longer if they drop godpallets. There is no "skill" or "juking" involved, they just can waste a lot of time by pressing those two buttons because most killers are only 15% faster than survivors.

Those videos have no merit because the killer tells them what to do and tries to commit to chase them from half the map distance away, any killer who will commit to the scenarios they created deserves to lose because no one with a brainstem ignores all the gens being done and chases a survivor who's got like a 40-50m lead on them at the beginning of the chase that's some true bot ######### right there if there ever was

I edited a couple points. The idea here is to buy the killer time to chase survivors. You may strategically lose life’s, but if the killer downs two people, you are in much rougher shape in this scenario than in current game form, don’t you think?

I see where you're going with the idea but I feel like it should be a whole different game mode of DBD if it were implemented

  • @MadLordJack said:

Wait, doesn't this force killers to camp the hook in order to take away a health state? Also, doesn't this encourage genrushing, because there's little reason to go for the unhook thanks to strategically sacrificing health states?

That's what I think would happen, I would just leave someone on the hook to genrush for the simple fact that even if they died they would respawn back into the trial

  • Pinhead would be an amazing choice, I've wanted him in the game ever since they started adding licensed chapters

  • Lol noob3 is talking about returning very soon so even he can't get away from it

  • @Sand said:

So basically your saying this game is your entire life and nothing anyone says will convince you that it's possible to gen rush every killer?

No I absolutely understand how genrush works but that's why I slug with Infectious Fright on Nurse , that's why people run the ruin, undying, tinkerer combo , and against lower tier killers gen rush is a EZ 4 man escape but when you start moving up the ladder and those get top tier killers that actually have a brainstem you will have a hard time rushing gens if they are snowballing your teammates, it doesn't matter how good of a survivor you are , you're only as good as the rest of your team because if they're a EZ 2 tap then it doesn't matter how long your staying up you'll just be saved for last while everyone else dies

  • @Sand said:

Why does it work at rank 1 then lol. I don't think you realize that streetwise and prove thyself make the generators finish in 2 minutes consistently. A killer cannot physically kill more than 1 survivor in 2 minutes of game time. Do the math

Also you're not accounting for killers who have a slug strat because that can end a game on everyone's first hook if you do it right

It doesn't work at rank 1 unless you get bad killers which wouldn't surprise me with how easy it is to rank up, I'm consistently at rank 1 on both sides every reset , I know what I'm talking about and against any good top tier killer that strat is bogus, let's see your videos since you're so convinced it works you must have a ton of them by now the way you're downing on other people in this thread

Absolutely not I promise you if you pre drop a pallet against nurse and just hold w it's gonna end bad for you and same with spirit or any other killer with mobility , you're relying on the killer not being good at the game when you talk about a hold W strat, I can see it working against wraith or trapper if you had enough distance to start out but not all the maps are big enough for hold W strat to work
