How BHVR hasn't responded to any of the criticism of their filter is astounding to me, I wonder how long they can stick their heads in the sand about it. Probably a while since there are admittedly more pressing matters like cheaters and game balance but they were the ones who wasted their time and effort on the thing in the first place and didn't even consider making it a toggle.

They were probably tired of sifting through reports so decided to do that so nobody knows what's going on lol you cant report something you can't interpret I guess

  • The cheater is worse in my opinion, the survivors are at the hackers mercy is the truth and the more points you can get before you get flown 1,000 feet in the air for a Mori the better

  • Speaking from a day 1 perspective and seeing all the changes I believe there was a short period of time when the ranked system was actually better than MMR but survivors complained they couldn't rank up and they had long que times at high ranks, so the devs altered the change and it went haywire and didn't work properly, the current MMR is better than what was in place right before it but there was one time during ranked matchmaking where it was the most balanced and even matchmaking I've ever seen in the game, unfortunately the group of whiny survivors that never play killer got it taken away because they couldn't be rank 1 and the best player ever in their mind anymore and the ego couldn't take it.

  • It's a number that determines how much of your life you've wasted on DBD lol that's about the extent of it , sadly mines getting close to 50 now I'm kinda just waiting for something new at this point but I'll be honest though BHVR does have a new game coming out next year (I think) that seems great I'm looking forward to it.

  • I actually like midwich as a survivor as long as it's not a starstruck floods of rage nurse I'm against

It is very obvious if you're doing something as blatant as spamming unhook over and over when the killer isn't there to grab-interrupt. But even that aside, at most, if they intentionally refuse to unhook you, you wait 2-3.5m. That’s not a huge amount. You could just straight up browse YouTube or Twitter on your phone or whatever if that’s happening. Removing the ability to hook suicide is comparatively more significant.

I think it's a good idea but needs work , also even that isn't bannable though I had a fog whisperer in a swf 2 years ago spam unhook me on live stream while I was being beat by the killer at the same time on the hook (they were friends) all because I slugged the said streamer and their friends as a killer a day or two before that and said gg in their chat but BHVR did nothing about it, there's still people who even do it every now and then to me these days and nothing ever gets done because nowhere in the rules does it say I have to unhook you when I'm nearby.

If you read what I said, hook suiciding could be made literally impossible. No penalty on the 3 self unhook attempts + struggle skillchecks not affecting time. Also the longest you'd have to wait is 2 minutes. If they're all using Reassurance and sandbagging you and not unhooking, then 3 and a half minutes, and also what they are doing is against rules and reportable anyways.

Ok I get what you're saying but that doesn't answer why you'd wanna be in that match? And no none of what I spoke about is bannable and you can clarify that with a mod if you want , I can go up to you on hook and t bag and pretend to unhook only to run away and leave you there because nothing in the rules say I have to unhook you and nothing that says I can't use perks to make life hell for the killer with no intention of escaping, so I can go into every game just absolutely throwing but they can't ban me as long as it even a smidge resembles some sort of normal gameplay and you want to make it to where if I have a squad doing this that you have no way out of the match except to sit there for the whole hook timer being a solo player. I think your idea is really good but it just needs to work a little differently to be effective

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3212882#Comment_3212882

Which is why the solution is to remove the loophole from being possible in the first place. If it is literally impossible to hook suicide, no reason to punish something that can’t be done.

But how would the game tell the difference? What happens if the other survivors are downed and they're trying to free themselves? Or if a solo player is with a swf group who leaves them on hook or just trolls instead of playing the game? Are you telling me that person should endure a penalty for that situation? The game won't be able to tell the difference in some situations where you'd probably do it yourself , like a trolling swf just hiding and not doing gens or anything just to see how long they can hide (sad but I've seen it before) there's certain variables you can't account for where I would say it's acceptable to not want to be in the match

So is there like...a legitimate reason why console players can't have anonymous mode?

Even if it was unintended, anonymous mode worked just fine on console when it was there...so why remove it? How come PC players get anonymity but I have to risk being harassed by another player after the game just because I didn't play perfectly to their standards, or because I got a kill? It just doesn't make sense to me why BHVR would basically encourage that especially knowing how toxic their playerbase can be...

They probably did it so they're "special" group of players could derank their MMR anonymously since they were catching flak for some of them doing it and letting it be known because they don't get a DC penalty either

  • As much as I hate quitters you don't know why theyre suiciding on hook, maybe they've been playing for 8 hours straight and they're just done so they'd rather suicide when they get caught, maybe needed a bathroom break or maybe they're just crybabies 🤷 who knows? Lol as much as I would like a penalty for it I don't think BHVR would ever do that and if somehow they did it would probably get bugged and ban everyone who dies on hook

If I camp the hook like a bot, and then the survivors run into me like bots and die, who is the better bot?

Lol the world may never know! Bots come in all shapes and sizes these days, I'm not defending survivor bots either but for someone to believe they're actually skillful for standing there and not moving is hilarious, at least if gens are getting done someone is putting in work running the killer and it's not like the killer has to wait 3 minutes before they can move, someone is making skillful plays to keep the gens going without interruption

  • Tunneling may be skillful because you're actually catching them, but aside from like one or two scenarios camping is 110% a bot play by an unskilled and outclassed killer , there's no defending it in a way that actually makes you skilled "You have to look out for other survivors while camping" oh wow what skill lmao you say survivors are the same on gens? Well at least survivors have to hit skill checks the equivalent would be if you camped and had to hit skill checks or took an auto stun while standing there but nope you can stand in front of the hook with one hand on your mouse and one free for whatever and still get a down if they go for the unhook without looking around at all.

even 90 seconds unbreakable will still be significant, that's basically like giving 100% hook after few dozen seconds.

    Beside that yeah agreed.

I disagree because its plenty of time to decide whether to hook or slug, I agree that the unbreakable buff probably needs adjusted for some of the killers hurt by the change but as for the base kit 45 secs that's on the killer if they choose to go for a slug and don't succeed, it's just as simple to pick that first survivor and hook them because they're still considered out of commission to the game and you can still get the finisher Mori with them on a hook, but for killers that didn't need the change like a nurse it's balanced at that level with the current unbreakable buff otherwise they could just run floods of rage and starstruck and 4k every game , use slugging as a strategy when I play nurse and in the ptb it was honestly just plain boring and I felt like I was cheating so I switched to Oni because some people thought he would have issues but I think he's gonna do fine with the change

I still never got an answer from people who think this is a big buff as to how this is anythjng more than a marginally better Cypress Mori offering. :/

I wouldn't necessarily call it a huge buff but it was a buff for some of the killer roster that people could argue didn't need it like nurse for example, it takes away moments where you could've used power struggle flip flop, or unbreakable during the time someone is being hooked to reset other players, also the troll squads cant abuse the unhookable builds with no mither because if they're all downed they die so no mither sabo is dead officially when that rolls out , now I don't consider it a big buff because nothing really changed gameplay wise except survivors have to be smarter and spread out when a slug starts, the base kit unbreakable takes 45 seconds so anyone considering that a big buff falls into the same category as people assuming killers were over buffed when in reality nothing changed all that much except you have to play smarter against snowball killers and not be trying to troll with sabo and breakout

While I'm doubtful starstruck will go on someone like onryu, can't argue the sweating is Gona drown the game...

I mean of course there are better perks for certain killers, but that perk specifically is gonna be used a lot after these changes because of the possible chance you get everyone after it procs, it can literally end the game now if it pays off and certain killers will take complete advantage of that, I can't hate too much though I myself am going for speedruns with a few different killers once the changes hit but people need to be made aware this didn't solve anything it made it worse.

    "On the one hand:

    • Slugging for the 4k and unnecessary slugging will be gone"

How are you all missing the point here?

Slugging for the 4K will be META, it will happen even more.

    1. It will be the only way to secure a finisher Mori, especially when bringing an Ebony Mori offering.
    2. It will enable the killer to bypass multiple hook stages, as much as 6, if they tunnel out 2 survivors then slug the remaining 2.
    3. Tons of killers will still want their 4K and 45s slug windows won't stop them.

That's exactly what Ive been saying, expect to see snowball killers with cracked out builds to instantly end the game, you won't see a nurse without starstruck anymore , actually starstruck is most definitely about to be in the new meta because alot of killers can benefit from it and people aren't seeing that the most sweaty people you can imagine are gonna be coming out for speedruns on the fastest recorded 4ks because that just became really easy to contest without the need of hooking the slugs

  • @CookieBaws said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3208832#Comment_3208832

Not exactly, you can get a single kill from a piece + stalk rate, but thing is you can't iw3 more than 4 times, if suvivors hide in lockers or... just loop main, you are screwd.

With a tombstone + tuft, you have to stalk 3 survivors dry. If your team allowed to be stalked that much, you should be dead anyway.

There is counters within his kit, but just rushing a locker is somehow fair. COOL.

So because you can see someone for a period of time you think you deserve free kills with no counterplay to stop it? That's absurd , most of these maps are open to see for a good distance that's one of the biggest complaints by people who main stealth killers because they feel like there's only a few maps they get to use that part of the kit on, Michael is the only exception to this because wide open maps benefit him at the same time with the difference in his stalk mechanic, but like I said at the very beginning it's all part of the game I'll take it however they change it but everything in this game has a counter and that should stay that way

  • @CookieBaws said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3208811#Comment_3208811

No, i mean the lamest counter is the thing. I don't mind you looping me and play stealth, not just rushing in a locker.

It's fair though when you can instantly eliminate someone you've had zero interaction with before that, if it worked like ghostfaces stalk I'd agree with you more because then they did it to themselves but the fact you can have two idiots feed you on purpose and gain the ability to insta kill everyone needs a stupid restriction like a locker otherwise it would be a free win because you're good at staring at people on open maps with very little to hide

  • @CookieBaws said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3208797#Comment_3208797

I mean yes, only if it wasn't being countered by just hiding in a locker or laying on the ground. If i could mori downed, then yes, do your best.

You have an add on that instantly eliminates them from the game what do you expect? Are they supposed to just give up because you popped t3? An add on that ignores hook states all together deserves that kinda restriction, it's like having a instant escape button as a survivor once I completed a gen by myself, the point I was making though was referring to your title, you shouldn't care if they get upset over tombstone and treat you like a criminal but you also shouldn't be upset for them not lining up single file to just let you get the EW3 trophy

  • My question is who cares? The real problem these days is people getting all up in their feelings for nothing acting like you should show manners in the game. I'm not sure how but somehow this horror slasher game has drawn in a gigantic pool of crybabies on both sides who feel like they're the best to ever play the game and if they have even the slightest amount of issue with something the first defense is to blame everyone but themselves and then try to tell the other side how they're wrong like they should even care in the first place.

I'd have to time it, but I'm 99% sure that Twins can't make it from one side of Eyrie to the other in 22s.

I think you'll lose this one friend lol 22 secs is alot long than you think and it's straight from one side to the other which also I'd like to point out is never gonna happen at full map length in a real game

I had the weirdest match this am. I went up against a SWF of 3. I’m learning nurse (I suck at her). These 3 jokers send us to the game and all have no mither, boil over, flip flop and breakdown.

I get all three of them in the engine room downstairs but I physically cannot get them to a hook despite basement being right there. I slug them all and play wack a mole till one dies. Then I’m able to get one to a hook.

Seemed like they were totally memeing. . . But I’m not sure what to make of it.

The preschool basement is the best place for that build, burn a bloodied blueprint to spawn basement in shack so the school basement is empty and they have to go all the way up and out the door to a hook, have like one or two breakouts, or sabo toolboxes and it's gonna be hell for about any killer except pyramid head because his cages counter that gameplay

It does a worse job than simply hooking in terms of winprogress and stopping gens. You slug cause you have the opportunity for a free hit. It has nothing to do with soloqueue. You overstimate the power of slugging, its a situational thing, not something inherently strong. I get slugged for the 4k maybe 1% of the games btw

Slugging is killer dependant really when you're gauging how strong it is, while trapper may not be good at that , Any high mobility killer for example could use it as a strat and win the game faster than they would normally, there are like 5-6 killers who have a viable slug game and the rest are pretty much a gamble where you have to have everyone in a bad spot grouped up, these changes that are coming benefit killers more than survivors and people don't even see it yet, there's no reason to leave survivors down for that long if you know it's a bad time for it and you auto win now with no chance of anyone getting up or wiggling out or anyone of that if you pull if off quick, you're gonna see alot of starstruck after these changes and people going for the win as soon as they get that first proc

  • @Sava18 said:

There are 3 killers in the game that can viably 4 man slug. And even then it's extremely tough.

There are about 5 or 6 actually that are viable and if you yourself know that then it sounds pretty stupid to leave a survivor down for 45 secs right? Nobody is forcing you to leave them down and if flashlights are a huge problem run lightborn and pick them right up, also there will be plenty of killers who try to Speedrun with those top tier killers myself included , there are some nasty build combos you can make to synergize with the changes, alot of the streamers like Alf for example will probably try to go for the fastest 4k in the game on record with nurse or whatever killer they decide to play it's gonna make for some interesting matches.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3204763#Comment_3204763

Imagine playing Twins on a big map, and someone's running UB.

They'll be up before you can reach them.

No they won't, it doesn't take any killer that long to go from one end of the map to the other even with UB you could get there in time, and if you're not good at slugging you still have 22.5 seconds with UB to decide whether another survivor is worth chasing which is still enough time to process whats happening and make a good decision

  • @Marik1987 said:

No problem. If the new Basekit-Unbreakable is coming, tunneling will be the by far best and only strategy for killers left.

This isn't true, killers with high snowball potentials and builds to end the game immediately are gonna be more common, when all four survivors are slugged, hooked, or dead they auto die with these changes, are you telling me that majority of killer mains aren't smart enough to make a decision in 45 secs on whether to slug or not? People are just being crybabies as usual, you could hook a survivor and then slug and still win, for example if bubba catches and face camps a survivor now you'll almost have to leave them because if all three of you go down to save one survivor the match is instantly over without them being able to abuse hook spawns and wiggling out everytime

  • @Tony_ said:

I understand BT base kit, but now you are giving community more base kit perks. You shouldn't really do it becouse in no time community will start asking for more, and BHVR being BHVR can't say no. If they dont stop we will soon have Kindred Basekit, Tenacity Basekit, Selfcare Basekit and worst of all probably ######### load of killer perk's basekit.

Soon you will have a problem of no killers, becouse everyone will leave due to game being too survivor sided. What are you going to do then? Probably buff killer to the point where survivors will leave, and then you will buff survivors so killers leave again Repeat

Also keep in mind that giving survivors basekit stuff like UB is a horrible idea just becouse camping and tunneling will SKY ROCKET.

Just say ,,No'' if someone asks for X perk basekit. It's not like they are going to leave the game just becouse of it.

Ub base kit is fine because of the fact that if all four are slugged or hooked/dead at once you auto win the game now with the finisher Mori, so how troll squads would take you to RPD and make you bleed them out in the Library can never happen again because they would auto die as soon as the last person standing gets slugged and I mean you get 45 secs to decide whether a full slug is worth it or you can just hook the survivor then slug if they're nearby , either way if they're all downed they die there's no more crawling to a dead hook zone while slugged and wiggling out everytime

  • Believe it or not this is actually gonna help because of situations where survivors try to stay in a area where you can't get them all to a hook, this specific change kills the no mither sabo troll squad and it kills alot of sabo play because if you get a killer with snowball potential now all they have to do is slug you all and the game is over, a good nurse with starstruck is gonna love these changes and other killers who are used for a speed run because of their snowball potential, you're gonna see alot of nasty builds to end the game quick is gonna be the reality for people at high MMR, I think 45 seconds is plenty of time to decide whether to continue a slug or hook the survivor

The problem is that it may not bother YOU or ME but if content creators stop playing the game right now because cheaters make it stressful for them (e.g. Otzdarva) it hurts the game's publicity. Fewer people will know about the game and fewer new players will come which means: less money for new content in the game.

    We don't want that.

New people don't come to the game through content creators they use them to learn once they found the game, lol not trying to argue but I'm just pointing out that nobody goes searching for dead by daylight on twitch if they don't even know what the game is

I wonder why when every third game actually is a hacker and they're almost always subtle

You don't know that for sure though and that's the ######### I'm talking about right there, sure they exist I'm not denying that but just because he gets outplayed by someone doesn't make them a subtle hacker, at some point you've got to admit you made the wrong choice or that a survivor made a good play, I think it's like @Brokenbones said and that the chat and community he has makes it worse than it is, sure hackers target streamers but they aren't always hacking and that's what's ruined alot of watching streamers for me is anytime someone outplays them "they're hacking!" It's just getting ridiculous and if anything sometimes they should think to themselves that if they play the game for a living you're gonna get survivors who know their stuff sometimes abd give you a run if you pay closer attention to your chat than the game

  • Good riddance I say, the dude accuses anyone who outplays him of hacking in some way shape or form, otz is a good player don't get me wrong and he's friendly but when he gets outplayed he flips a switch and starts questioning the survivors immediately, and acting like the game doesn't count because he "thinks" someone might be hacking.

I know that it's the usual childish trolling but I'm so tired of it. I hope this guy gets perma banned.

Unfortunately he won't get perma banned but it's like I've always said the post game chat is the only toxic thing in this game, what gets me is players who say things like that almost always played like trash the whole game or they hid the whole game while their team died, I had a guy tell me "gg ez" when he let his entire team die at 4 gens and hid with left behind for the hatch, he acted like he was a god for playing that way

  • I've had the bloodweb error but I've never been allowed to load into a match with the issue It always kicks me a few seconds after it bugs out while I'm spending the points

Just so you know I'm not referring to the forums I'm reffering to the actual game. Is it just me or every couple of matches theres always either a camping killer or a troll survivor or something else. I want to hear other peoples opinions on this.

My opinion is that none of it is toxic unless they are trash talking and a lot of people have way too big of an ego in this community to admit they lost because they made mistakes or to just be able to laugh at a troll and troll them back, it's a video game and people are here for fun it shouldn't matter how anyone plays because we didn't buy their game, a lot of people need to loosen up and have fun instead of treating the game like it's real life.

  • Alot of players on both sides have been leaving the game, I don't think it's all due to the changes though to be fair, I feel like casual survivors are up in arms but other than that the ones that are leaving are maybe just tired of the rinse and repeat style of this game, other games are coming out and alot of people will probably still bounce back and forth between games, this game has been out for going on over half a decade it's bound to gain and lose players along the way because of the way it constantly changes

The baffling./funny thing is THEY USED TO DO THIS

i can't recall the actual chapters but 100% they have made pre-ptb changes to test things before live, it kind of leaves the only plausible explanations simply laziness/cost saving.

It's because if the game is fixed what reason do we have to interact with them and watch their streams displaying changes coming? The fact that its constantly changing and they're always fixing something they're using the community interaction almost like a sales pitch to people to "show they care", if BHVR truly wanted alot of the bugs people complain about could be fixed in like a months time with someone actually focused on that aspect

Camping being fine is not the same thing as exploiting a bug that prevents a survivor from even being unhooked. They changed PH cages because PH could completely deny the ability to rescue a cage survivor.

Also shouldn't this be in theory possible with Ghostface? Ghostface also loses collision while stalking.

I'm not saying it's fine but these people are just noticing a bug that's been complained about before years ago and they did nothing then either

  • This has been going on for a very long time with Myers but I figured the devs wouldn't do anything about it since they've said camping was fine for years now

I do disagree with that; Dead by Daylight uses EAC, VAC isn't present in Dead by Daylight.

It sounds like a case of stolen account to me; You know.. The usual phising URL addresses and then getting the account. Once acquired, playing some VAC secured games with F2P cheating softwares and getting banned right-away.. And then getting into some other games that the poor owner, who's very likely in desperate attempts trying to get his or her account back, has bought aswell..

Well my thoughts were that they hacked something like legacy or achievements where they're trying to trick steam and not the game anymore but I'm not sure how that all works ive never been banned or really even looked into how all that works

Dead by Daylight uses EAC, so it's not possible to get a VAC for cheating in Dead by Daylight; Every single VAC ban isn't tied with or to Dead by Daylight.

I think it depends on what they hack, I've seen with my own eyes a cheating survivor get vac banned mid game it DC'D them while they were spamming themselves on and off the hooked animation, clicked on the profile and it said zero days since last vac ban lmao

If she's not difficult to master you must have a ton of good footage we'd all love to see, there's a reason why shes got such a low pick rate and kill rate and it's definitely not easy to master her otherwise new players would all pick nurse and just assume they were good with that killer because of how well they did but its quite the opposite and they get so frustrated they drop her all together and pick an easier killer to play and the stats do back that up with her low killrates, it's very likely that the nurse mains you do encounter are the ones carrying it to that point and if you only accounted for newer players itd be even lower of a kill rate, so explain how that translates to easy to master?

Lord… I hope you will understand that your request is just ridiculous and I will not be providing videos. What makes the request even sillier is that I already said that a selection of videos isn’t proof. Let’s see data on nurse win rates at various levels.

It's not ridiculous at all, if you're gonna have the nerve to call something easy that a lot of people would disagree with then there shouldn't be any problem proving it unless you're trash with her and she's not as easy as you're coming off which I assume is probably the case

So, videos that people post. Which is not an objective, balanced sample. By definition many videos are posted because someone considers them special enough to be shared. Also, tournament survivor teams will roughly be equivalent to the best swf players in the game. So lets be fair… I’ll concede that the best players in the game in a swf can sometimes beat a nurse. Does that really mean that Nurse isn’t broken? I’m a data analyst for my day job. Official data on nurse win rates and/or something similar is what I’m talking about. Some example videos where people manage to beat a nurse doesn’t work.

Well where's your nurse videos trouncing survivors? since it's "easy" as you say, at least provide some evidence if you're going through all the trouble of starting a thread, I haven't seen a single person complaining about nurse post any sort of video showing their gameplay as her and why its too easy, they always come here and cry that shes broken but as soon as you ask for their gameplay as her suddenly they've taken a vow of silence

    What's a window tech again?

Something that doesn't work against good killers lmao when they vault if you time it right you can go through their body and back the other direction , good killers know this and they look or theyll hear you go by

  • No they aren't or else the would've fixed it already, they intentionally do stuff like that because killers used to get stuck in pallets, vaults and other strange places, like on the grim pantry you could drop down the tiny hole near the single window and just stand still, if the killer tried to follow you down they would be stuck on your head until you moved and essentially could hold the game hostage

They could at the very least inform us that the video was received.

Besides, why not let the players who care enough to report know that they aren’t wasting their time submitting?

BHVR only looks at reports that are made in game with video evidence submitted along side the report anything outside the game has to be done per platform, so if there's no video or in-game report your report isn't even gonna be looked at, the only exception might be chat logs in the endgame where you could screenshot or just report it and I'm pretty sure they can pull the chat log right up
