When stuns have a wider FoV than the actual player. genius.
Weird I was never notified of this one either I went back and started looking because I noticed I wasn't getting the pop up telling me people replied, and yea lol what a design to create a radius blind instead of stun

I avoided flashbang blinds many times just looking up to the skies. worked everytime except when I met suspicious dwight with special flashbangs and autodead hard
I never was notified you responded, but I'll go ahead and say that those survivors did it wrong you can look at a ton of videos of survivors getting the blind when there's no way it should have worked, it should be base more off of fov than radius of the explosion if it's going to blind and not stun
-
You're better off running empathy because then you can pretty much see map wide anytime someone gets injured you just can't see the killer which I mean it's kinda obvious that's where they are at if someone is injured and you see them running in circles across the map
-
I don't remember because I was playing a drinking game with friends, the rules were anytime someone completed a gen, lost the killer in chase, got a pallet stun, a flashlight save, or got hooked or downed you had to take a shot,when it was all said and done I'm pretty sure I was speaking the same language as David Hasselhoff trying to eat that cheese burger when he was drunk, it was awful and I'll never do it again lol

You could just turn the damn chat off if it bothers you that much

Easily 1st Decisive Strike.
4 second stun immediately after pickup for all 4 Survivors.
I agree but also remember only the obsession could use it immediately and the others had to wiggle to like 40-50 percent before it would come up which in my opinion made it worse because then the killer wasted that much time extra trying to get you to a hook only to bust out on them and already have your exhaustion back where it would already be recovering while running if you somehow got downed before it came back then you were guaranteed to have it when you wiggled out, that's why sprint burst was so strong back then, on top of the multiple times getting it in chase you would also have it during DS and zoom away
-
The devs allow a few jabs back and forth in the end game chat as long as it doesn't cross the line, I don't see him telling you to off yourself or anything really except trying to get under your skin which you clearly allowed him to do, next time I would just leave when you realize they're those type of people and leave them typing to themselves
-
There's still nothing anyone could do because they never said every cosmetic was exclusive it could fall into the "other special offers" category and that's all they would have to say there would be no lawsuit unless they claimed that everything was exclusive which they never did, the lawsuit would never see daylight

I miss the old orange snow machine loop they used to have on ormond, it was like the autohaven crane but done a little different and when they added the new one it's just a loop now without the ramp and the window vault and it's a lot bigger than it was
-
Actually the flashbang blinds anything in the radius of it is why that happened, Ive had a killer look directly at the wall and I ran up to the side of them and still got the save , it just can't be behind the killer when you drop it it's anything from the side or front radius that gets the blind when it's close to them
-
If you're using a killer with high mobility surveillance is decent, a underrated perk in my opinion but nothing special, it can synergize with quite a few perks also
-
Camping causes you to lose anyway most of the time if anything this actually forces you to get some skill instead of standing there staring at someone on the hook, if camping is your main skill as a killer and ruins the game that a perk counters it, that says alot about your skill level

Yes survivors need to be in a completely dominant position for this to work. And yes it also increases both the odds of a snowball and the workload of the survivor team.
Guess what, really good swf teams can usually be in a really dominant position. This ensures that if a swf team was winning hard anyway, they can now literally force a 4 man out. The abuse isnt that this makes the game easier for the survivors. The abuse is that if they decide to keep the guy on hook safe, they can. Thats not the intended use of the perk, so its an abuse.
I know dude, this is pretty rare. I get a good swf team maybe once every 20-25 games. Most of the swfs i get are barely above solo. But that 1 team that was already good? Now they are basically untouchable. Is it a big deal? No. Its still abusable af.
There's no way that's even close to better than having another survivor out doing gens, the only way that's even remotely a good play is if the killer is camping someone other than that you're killing your team by wasting time off gens to pause a guys hook timer with the killer not even there, a good swf would never make a play like that because that's one less body on gens and or keeping the killer busy and if they're good they can run the killer and make the time useful, we can agree to disagree we're all entitled to an opinion I just don't see any scenario other than camping that this would be a good thing, it's more of a hindrance than a blessing
-

The difference is the difference between a 3 man out and a 4 man out.
That's not true though because you leaving them on the hook like that makes it easier to snowball because if one of the three go down the others have to rush to the save and stop progressing the game, you have to have faith that person on your team is smart enough to play stealthy and work on gens at that point and even if they get caught, if they spent even 1 minute on a generator before being caught it was more beneficial than them hanging there and the other stopping gens to keep running over and pausing the timer.
-
So explain to me how reassurance speeds up the gens? It sounds like someone spent too much time pitching a tent around a hooked survivor, it's purely a skill issue

i’ve received death threats funnily enough, because i looped this nemesis “too well”.
I get like one every couple of days I'm immune to it at this point, I remember the old days with the old Mori I had a killer tell me I was "on his Mori list" for some reason the thought of someone actually keeping a list of names and keeping up with it was pretty damn laughable but sad at the same time lol
-
It's a game who cares what they think, I'd play in whatever way makes you happy as long as you don't insult someone in the chat or make death threats for someone giving you a taste of your own medicine it's fine, it amazes me how many people get up in their feelings over this game and cant laugh it off and have a good convo with the person without making excuses or talking trash win or lose, im here to have fun ill never be toxic and always respectable in chat but in game anything goes thats gonna give me a few good laughs.

Wesker can instant down in a Bound with no add-ons. (Unless you mean it doesn’t happen all the time, which is true, the survivor has to be fully infected.)
Yea that's kinda what I meant, it requires the survivors to almost allow it to happen, I would compare it to onryo's condemn getting full, sure it can happen and you get that free kill but how likely is it to happen consistently? If wesker could get some of the collision reworked, allow his ability to break pallets base kit, and adjust to give him a hair better mobility he would be A tier without a doubt in my mind at base but theres a few small changes I personally would like to see before he goes to live.
-
@dugman said:
He’s basically an objectively better Demogorgon in various respects and a weaker Nurse in others, so A tier. Specifically
- His Bound is better in various ways than Demo’s Pounce. Because he can Bound twice in a row he can hit survivors from around corners and positions that Demo literally can’t hit. He has instant downs that Demo doesn’t. Demo breaks pallets, which is nice, but it also gives the survivor more time to run to a new tile than leaping it does in the case of really strong tiles so they’re on par in that regard. And Wesker can use his Bound to catch back up to a fleeing survivor a bit like Blight can use a Rush to do that whereas is Demo tries to Pounce after a fleeing survivor his miss cooldown is so long it’s not worth it. And lastly his Bounds can hinder survivors movement speed by 8% which is a significant slowdown.
- He has good map mobility with his Bounds. Demogorgon can teleport longer distances but only can teleport to fixed preset portals while Wesker can use the Bound pretty much at will to quickly get across about 21 meters or so at a pop. So it’s not as big a distance but it’s a lot more flexible.
- The only thing I can think of that Demo is clearly better at is his Killer Instinct gives better actionable tracking information than Wesker’s Instinct when a survivor uses a spray.
So assuming they iron out the rough edges of Wesker’s collisions I’d put him squarely in a range between Demo but below Nurse and Blight. I put Demo at high B or low A tier so Wesker could be mid A tier is my guess if those minor issues are addressed.
Don't get me wrong I don't think he's bad but he's lacking, I can count on one hand how many times I've died to wesker since the ptb started and they may be people not understanding the power or just a mismatched MMR lobby, he just seems really predictable and in order for him to be a solid A tier I have to include his add ons plus build options available that synergize, but base kit alone he just doesn't seem like much or a threat, billy and Oni can instadown in a dash while wesker cant without having something else , so with add ons and build options I agree hes A tier but with base kit im on the fence its like i can compare him to a few other killers that people consider B tier and you cant definitively say that hes better but you cant say hes worse really either, i think he needs a few small qol changes to bring him to where hes more viable against really good teams
-
It makes me happy you went for that guy lol survivors who do nothing but hide deserve it and it's satisfying when they get salty about it

Yes I agree with that, changes like this would bring him closer to where alot of people are rating him in my opinion but right now i feel hes too add on dependant to be a threat against a good squad, we were running meme builds and still escaping last night on the ptb but that could be due to mmr never working properly on there also, wesker feels like he needs a few buffs before I consider picking him over let's say Demo or Billy
-
They could remove camping and people would still complain that's just DBD for you lol
-
@SonicOffline said:
I think he did is like, mid a tier. He has lethality, just not really much mobility.
Why do you think he's a mid A though?
-
@Slan said:
I'd say B tier, but close to A. He has good mobility, but not a great one. His power ressembles nurse's blinks, but you cannot go through objects and you move less. Survivors can easily dodge your dashes, and if you catch them with it they could be thrown towards an area that benefits them. The collissions are inconsistent and need to be revised, and I do not see his infection being a huge deal. And who thought that a 40-meter terror radius was a good idea? Starstruck is too op when playing Wesker due to that, but it also warns survivors earlier.
Conclusion, his power, although clearly chase-oriented, also gives him a slightly better movility than the average killers, and the sprays giving information are fine, but the easy counter to his power and his large terror radius could give him some advantages despite making things worse for him. As I said, he's B tier for me, but close to A tier.
I see some of the benefits he has that give him the potential but at the same time the amount of downsides he's got almost negate it but that's just my opinion and I can see what makes him good from your point of view you're not wrong
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
I put him in B tier. He's just a weaker Demogorgon
This was my thoughts he's like a weaker Demo or Billy, and to top it off you're punished by landing a power hit because the time it takes to get to a wall depending on where you're at and then the animation just for an injure and not even a down

It only matters if you are blinking past normal blink range. If you are going for a short range blink, it takes the same charge time regardless. And the range addons make your short range blinks faster.
I realize that but I was just pointing out it's longer to reach maximum range that's what I meant by "slower" but you're right technically it doesn't take any longer for charge itself and how far you go
-
@Crowman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3123143#Comment_3123143
I don't know how you can call yourself a nurse main and not understand the mechanics of the range addons.
The addons don't make you charge slower. If you charge 0.5 seconds, you'll travel the same distance with or without the addons. What the range addons do is allow you to be able to charge a bit longer for extra distance. This was an intentional change with the nurse rework a couple years ago nurses didn't need to learn different muscle memories with range addons.
Patch 5.5.0 had a huge nurse update to her code and reintroduce omegablink nurse with her range addons. It might not be as fast as it was before, but it's pretty significant. Otz has a comparison video (starts around 2 minutes):
That was my point though is you have to charge longer I guess slower is the wrong word but technically it does take you longer to reach maximum range because of the add on
-
@Crowman said:
A lot of nurses are taking advantage of the range addons making her blink faster which basically gives little to no counterplay against a good nurse. Those games often just feel pointless to play out.
Actually running range add ONS makes your blink slower to charge but you just get that extra distance, a lot of people know I'm a nurse main on here and even I'll say the range add ONS need to be removed from the game, nurse really isn't as bad as some people claim though they just want her nerfed so they can run in circles and play her the exact same way you do most of the killers, if she gets nerfed I really hope they just do add ONS and not base kit nurse.

What you're saying is like going to a restaurant, eating an entire plate of food and saying you aren't paying because the food was bad, but at the end of the day you still bit in and played over the amount of hours to request a refund on your platform

Blight is harder to master and hillbilly as well.

Literally the most overpowered killer in the game. I'm sick of seeing this piece of crap of a killer in the game where you could go blind and down every survivor with ease. There is no thought processing needed to get a easy 4K especially those try hard nurses using jigsaw piece or mary's letter map offering with perks that you pull your hair out of your scalp. "Oh here we go again" as I sigh in disbelief. And there we go, a survivor goes down faster than the speed of sound.
Nurse
Is
Outdated
Get her reworked to the current meta and we'll see the kill rates drop like flies in a closed, warm room.
I'll tell you like I do anyone else complaining about nurse, the door is always open for you to pull up in a KYF and prove it to me , while I will agree nurse is strong she definitely is the hardest killer to master in this game and her pick rate along with her win rate prove that fact, also shes one of the few killers that can beat even the very best in the game if you master her

And to think some of these people complaining about genrush were laughing at me before the patch came out when I said that it would become the next meta due to the changes

I believe that somewhere between 1 and 2 million individual players play DBD every day across all platforms. 20 individual people is nothing and not what I'd call "a lot of people". It certainly isn't enough of a metric to then apply their thoughts to everyone else.
You're absolutely allowed to form your own opinion, but applying your own opinion to everyone else doesn't really make much sense.
I agree, "let's test the slowdowns" has died down. If I was to make an assumption, my assumption would be that it's far more likely this is the reason you're seeing it less often, rather than killers seeing certain perks as "crutches" and shying away from them as a result because they feel bad about using them, regardless of their effectiveness.
I really don't think your line of reasoning makes sense - "Oh you're using strong perks which aid you in winning a game i.e. completing your objective? Obviously you're a low-skill killer who has trouble playing that role" - what?? Why don't we all just play without perks? Since all perks exist to aid in winning. Surely, if you can't win without perks, you have trouble playing killer and could probably stand to get a little better, which is why you use perks. That doesn't really add up, does it?
That's not at all how I meant it, I said the killers I've face with slowdowns the past week have been bad, notice I said that "I've" faced , it doesn't mean every killer is bad who runs a slowdown I'm just saying the people I've faced needed it and still lost , the better killers I've faced are starting to experiment with more builds, seems like you're just finding any reason you can to argue over what "MY" game experiences are when you don't know jack ######### about how I play or how my games go, never did I say this is factual for everyone and everyone is experiencing this
-
My advice would be to find a group that has other experienced killers like a discord group for a KYF, most of those people are nice and aren't gonna trash talk you or BM they will help you in the area you struggle and give advice on what you're doing that's messing you up, also you get a chance to cycle through killers and not feel the pressure to win by any means and you can actually focus on mastering the killer you're using, it's hard to give good advice with no gameplay available to be honest with you , so there's not really an answer to be given without something to go off of so visually I can see what you're doing, I mainly play as nurse, Oni, demo, blight, clown but I've got experience with about every killer on the roster at some point, I've been around since this thing started.

Speaking to a few friends on Steam is hardly an accurate reflection of the opinions of the vast amount of people who play this game. How many people could you possibly have spoken to about this particular topic anyway? I don't think it's fair to assume things of others based on your experiences.
Over the years, I've noticed that generally people who call things "crutches" in this game tend to do so simply because they dislike going against whatever it is they're calling a "crutch" so attempt to apply some sort of negative "stigma" to it and will be the very same people to use those "crutches" when they play that particular side.
Regardless, it's only been two weeks since the initial patch was released, I hardly think that two weeks is enough time to make a valid assessment on what people are generally using during matches and making assumptions as to why that may be. I think we can all agree that after such a large change to the game, most players will "test" what's been changed, so why would it be a surprise to anyone that after the patch, more people were using slowdown builds than ever before?
I've played with about twenty different people in the last week, it's usually a new group because I just hop in with whoever has an opening, and I'm absolutely allowed to form my own opinion based off of what I'm seeing in my games and what I'm hearing, I think the whole "let's test the slowdowns" has died down and it isn't there as much and the only people I've ran into using it have had obvious trouble playing killer and they could probably stand to get a little better and use it to help them, while I'll admit I'm not a fan of slowdowns i don't mind facing them I have stated numerous times I think the patch was needed but that if we're trying to create 3 min gens I would rather do an entirely different objective than gens just so I don't get bored.

I'm not seeing it in my games anymore maybe that's a server thing? I'm on NA east servers, for a while when the patch first dropped I saw it but now that's pretty much stopped either those survivors stopped DCng or the stopped playing the game all together

You're making a lot of assumptions in this post.
Just days ago you were bragging about slowing games to a crawl, saying that if killers can't 4k and aren't using a slowdown build to stretch gens out to 3 minutes then it's their own fault if they lose, for not doing so...
Well when they have the option there's no excuse for complaining, I'm simply stating that a lot of people have stopped running them due to them being used as crutches and because survivors are DCng I have a whole community of killer mains on my friend list on steam and I play KYF with alot of them and talk about changes in the game, that's what a lot of them are telling me so I would assume that a lot of other people have this mindset because I'm not seeing them in public matches alot now, but I still stand by what I said if you don't choose to run it and you need it then it's on you , after this patch the game is more skill based than it's ever been before it's no longer in the survivors hands whether you win or lose it's up to your own ability
-
No it's more that a lot of killers have stopped running the slowdowns because if they do the survivors who are entitled are gonna DC and ruin the game for everyone, that's why ques were bad at the start of this is because every killer at high MMR was testing out the stacked slowdowns to see how strong they are and survivors got tired of 3 minute gens being a thing, every now and then I still see the slowdowns but most of the good killers ive faced lately havent been using them anymore because they see them as a crutch they don't want to be dependent on to play, it's more of a "I'm not a great killer" tag now when i see them because they are more in need of them and they still lose anyway most of the time , it really isnt that bad now I don't understand why people are upset still.

You're right, Wraith isn't a strong killer, because he couldn't have beaten tourney players before his nerf either. And I'm getting mixed messages. I'm a baby killer if I have to use gen defence this update, but I'm a baby killer if I don't?
Nobody said you were a baby killer but I'm telling you for a fact I did beat a tourney squad with wraith, just because you can't do it doesn't mean nobody else can, in fact I've scrimmaged in KYF with plenty of tourney squads I've scrimmed with a couple members of oracle before , I didn't win but I was using demo at the time and Oracle is arguably the best swf to play this game, you'll meet plenty of people in KYF through discord groups and learn a lot because everyone helps each other learn

No I don't expect that , that would be ridiculous . I expect maps to not be giant, not a million pallets , and most of all to be paired against people who DON'T have thousands of hours but who aren't complete bots cause that's what I am .
You're a BEGINNER not a bot, don't let anyone shame you for learning because anyone here who plays killer has went through the hazing to get better, survivors can be dicks at times when they realize they have a new killer which can make it harder for someone in your position to hang in there when someone is trashing you in endgame chat even though you've only been here a month, if you do decide to stick with hag try throwing make your choice on her it synergizes well with her power .
-
I heard you state before you've only been playing a month and a half, what do you expect honestly? To already be more skilled than people with thousands of hours invested? Killer is easier now there's no denying that, you're at a odd stage where you've figured the game out but you're still somewhat of a beginner, its more of a matchmaking issue than game balance in your case because the game sees you as not a beginner which means you could be thrown with players way above you in terms of experience and skill due to the way MMR works
-
I wouldn't take it that far, killers still have to be at least decent to win depending on what killer+perks are chosen, while slowdowns may be busted when used in a certain way it doesn't guarantee victory without some sort of game knowledge

Facts don't lie, so stop spreading such nonsense
I think the patch is mostly fine but the new slowdown meta is making the game stale and it needs looked at, if survivors aren't running gen builds and the killer runs slowdowns it's a gg if they have half a brain and if the killer isn't running slowdowns and the survivors run genrush builds anticipating slowdowns then the killer gets dunked on, it's a cycle that creates a stale unhealthy meta , most people are fine with the buffs they just don't want to play a game where they do nothing for so long or at least thats my only complaint about this patch, the slowdowns force a stale game and stale meta to be played by both sides whenever we were supposed to be freed from feeling the need to use the same perks.
-
Honestly it should stay the way it is, it really isn't a big deal and Oni is only slightly better because of it, it's not something that totally breaks the game either we've all been escaping Oni for months with this problem it's been a thing for a while but people are just now seeing it

It's praise, but at the same time you're claiming that "every survivor hears that, because people are actually saying it", but they're not.
At some point you have to pull your pants up and admit it's you, with all these changes if someone has trouble as a killer it's because they aren't as good as they thought they were, you have the option to slow gens down to 3 minutes with certain builds and if you choose not to use it then who's fault is it? I 4kd a tourney squad with wraith this morning and in the old patch there would be no way to slow the game down enough for it to matter I would've had to hope for mistakes, wraith isn't even a strong killer either so how can you act like it still isn't a skill issue?
