Idk if it would've been possible to get to that level yet the update hasn't been out for too long, you would have to have hoarded millions of blood points

It used to have a cooldown. They removed it months ago so it's straight up Google Maps now.
Oh wow, my mistake I didn't realize that, I've seen it more often and now I know why

I find it to be the most boring perk to face as killer. You can tell when you chase a Kate and she just uses her GPS to pre-drop pallet after pallet in perfect sequence. Sometimes they're actively hurting the team by wasting resources early, but it's still incredibly annoying to deal with.
Just because it wasn't highly used doesn't mean it was weak and needed buffs.
You can't use it like a gps because there is a cool down on the perk after you throw a pallet or hit a window in a chase it's not just a constant aura reading
-
At this point in the game if you are still having trouble as killer it's purely a skill issue not a game balance issue, with the perks available to slow the game down to 3 min gens it's solely your own fault if you aren't using what's available to win games.

This is true. But honestly, if "sucking it up" hurts you really that much, I don't think that DBD would be the game for you, as much as I welcome everyone who wants to give it a try. This game has so much vitriol hardcoded into its DNA that I wouldn't recomment it to anyone with anything but very robust nerves of steel.
Come on now it really isn't that bad some people just take games too personal
-
You could also run the new Deja vu, during nightfall it has saved my life plenty of times by giving me an idea where the tiles are once you start running

I don't understand this. It's like a killer saying they're facecamping, nodding and hitting on hook because they saw a survivor doing a gen. Like what the hell is that thinking of resenting people for doing their objectives? That's just choosing to be spiteful and bitter at someone for doing what they are supposed to do.
Theres a difference between playing normally and trying to focus one survivor out of the trial early, while it may be beneficial and you're not supposed to care about their fun , if you don't care about their fun why should they care about yours? Why shouldn't they make it as annoying as possible because you won't stop focusing them? It makes perfect sense in that aspect of things, and if the killer fails they have no room to complain when they choose a playstyle like that and survivors don't have room complain either if they die because at the end of the day they got caught and died and dead people can't talk but they can sure try.
-
@leafninja said:
I believe survivors not doing any gens is their way of getting killers nerfed so they are the power role again. They rather run circles around killer instead of doing their objective. Let me clarify that I meant only the survivors who are actively not doing gens. The ones who do try to do them have my respect.
Alot of those survivors probably didn't do gens before either, but without the slowdowns being as oppressive and gens being shorter already it couldve been hidden and you could have two survivors dedicated to gens and still escape but now they're in a situation where they can't just hide and survive they have to work for it and some people aren't taking it too well lol

Camping being an issue I can understand, but why would you want to deal with tunneling? Aren't chases and looping the best part of the game? There is nothing wrong with the killer tunneling.
You're right there is nothing wrong with it ,but as a killer if someone is deciding to take this playstyle they have no room to complain about getting t bagged and flashlight clicked or anything else in the trial the survivors decide to do afterwards and if they lose there's no room to be salty when you adopted a strat like that and failed.

But that's survivors giving up because they dont like the change, it's very possible to beat these builds but people just aren't actually trying and that's the biggest problem.
I recommend using aura reading perks to see what your team is doing, you'll realise the games you lose by alot are due players not actually doing their objective.
Only change I'm for is make tunneling less viable by awarding separate hooks for killer and punishing those who tunnel (for example a mini regression & speed boost for a separate hook while if you hook the same person you dont get anything
I'm not having any issue I've just been running genrush builds with adrenaline but I've quit playing solo just because I'm tired of every other game having another survivor throw a temper tantrum and DC because they went down in 10 seconds somehow I'm not sure how they manage to do it but they do, I just think BHVR will cave to the review bombing and dcing from casuals who try to say it's unplayable for them
-
I don't think killers will get nerfed but that survivors will get buffed, maybe you see that as the same thing idk but I think the only killer thing that might get touched is nerfing slowdowns just a tiny bit so you don't have casuals dcing due to the gens taking a decade once you stack certain combos, i would like to see some tournament play with the current patch I'm curious on if they'll actually stray away from certain strategies due to the changes made or if it made them worse
-
It's because once some people know theyve lost the trial , in their mind they create a new game that is something like "if I survive the EGC without getting downed or hooked I win when it runs out" even though in reality they still lost anyway, and then some of those players want to proceed to trash talk even if you were letting them die to the timer and just making sure they couldn't safely get the gates
-

It's kinda sad how the idea of "perform task in-game during the event to work towards unlocking a cosmetic" didn't get continue like it was in these two events. The Eternal Blight (2020) event didn't have the progression like the last two and only had the cosmetics, but did give us the blight serum addons.
This is why alot of people liked the summer bbq event, it had cool vibes and then you had to grind for the rewards through getting the grill hooks (which were awesome by the way) and doing the margarita generators.

Yes, all 4 of them are having trouble with the game. They are actually terrible players despite the 1000's of hours of video evidence to the contrary so they had to smurf. Put another feather in your trilby, detective.
I didn't say they were terrible players, don't put words in my mouth, I said they were playing on Smurf accounts for their viewers, does doing hardcore survivor sound like I should boot up a zero hour brand new account? Because that's hard right?
-
Is it really though? To me that just says I need content for my viewers because I'm having trouble on my real account, you really want a hardcore survivor challenge? How about going perkless on their real accounts against good players?

Lmao if you even want to call it hardcore survivor, more like playing on a Smurf account for my viewers

If you can't give examples don't make sweeping statements, it would be very easy for you to name nerf + perk but of course you won't and I have to go look myself for proof of your claim that I know is false.
Survivors have had 3 good perks.
Dead Hard, MoM, CoH
MoM & CoH have been the only meta perks since Dead Hard, and they've both been nerfed, CoH multiple times over, there is not a single perk from Dead Hard to now that killers have complained about besides MoM & CoH, don't be so ridiculous that survivors get strong perks after nerfs because it's incredibly untrue.
I guess all of us were just imagining the boil over complaints too right? There's always been stuff people are complaining about and getting nerfed it's nothing new, you want to sit here and argue about it and you look ridiculous claiming survivors only have boons, dh and mom after all this time, I guess we all are just imagining these changes happening to perks over the last few years and all the complaints about them on here like when breakout first came out and the forums were filled with breakout,sabo, swf complaints and that was after the way the hooks were changed by the way, I guess we all imagined the old soul guard for the people complaints too guys, if I really wanted to I could sit here and go on but it's not worth it because in your mind you think only 3 perks have been complained about since Ashley Williams dropped into the game lmfao
-
@Seanzu said:

So you have one example, after which MoM was nerfed significantly into oblivion, what was the ridiculous perk after MoM... nothing? Oh right, so one coincidence = the entire history of dbds patch notes, lmao.
I told you to look for yourself I gave an example like you asked me to do, I'm not gonna sit here and research every change just to show you something you should've already realized by now, just think about some of the perks today existing in the old DBD and not only that but everytime a strong perk comes out people cry about it until it's nerfed on here, I'm more curious on how you haven't noticed lmao you can make smart alec remarks all you want I could care less

Can you give examples of this?
Think about it and go look back into patch notes from a few years back and scan over it and see for yourself, anytime survivors have received a noticeable nerf or change the following chapter always has a new perk that would've been broken with the old way, kinda like old mettle of man, Ds was reworked at that time and it was one of the most complained about perks on the forum

Yeah its brutal when that happens. Even more brutal when you commit to 2nd blink and miss.
And the thought of a new busted exhaustion perk is the most brutal of them all : D
Lol I'm telling you watch and see, everytime in the history of this game that BHVR has done a noticeable nerf on survivor, the next chapter always follows with a busted survivor perk that makes up the difference, it's like they try to adjust the game to be able to handle the bullshit theyre about to release I really am expecting some game breaking perks next chapter

I'm not going to pretend to be some master Nurse, im below average in my opinion but there are plenty of times when its correct to try to 1 blink a survivor. Hell sometimes its correct to not even wait for 2nd charge after an injure and just go for a down.
Yes of course I won't argue with that but I'm specifically talking about a 99 sprint burst against a nurse trying to blink on top of you, it's a risky gamble that may or may not pay off and if it doesn't you might as well abandon the chase and go for a new survivor than try to blink your way back into a chase with all that distance between you and the survivor, I'm not the best nurse by any means but I'm very confident in my ability with her and against her due to going in KYF with good nurse mains alot and practicing, i have a feeling once people start getting used to SB it will become the next dead hard but I could be totally wrong about that and knowing BHVR they'll probably release a game breaking perk that replaces dead hard in the next patch and make people not even think about SB
-
@Dead_Harder said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3090671#Comment_3090671
You could argue it but thats not how it works. If im too far away on first blink aka not on top of you AND dont have a 2nd blink, sure, fair play. Best thing you can do against nurse with sb is probably just book it as soon as you see her and hope she doesnt have range addons to blink half a map away.
Funnily enough best exhaustion vs nurse is probably still DH
We we can agree to disagree then because I'll guarantee you that I'm saving the 99 sb until you're right about to hit me and using it to dodge the swing and force fatigue I'm not just gonna mindlessly run straight while you blink on top of me , I've got thousands of hours of game time into nurse and I'll go ahead and say trying to blink on top of survivors is not how you do well with nurse that's how people end up getting juked, it's a very beginner state of mind to have that strategy but again this is all just my opinion and we're all entitled to have one
-
@Dead_Harder said:
Can you activate SB as an oh ######### button or in the middle of a chase? Well yes but you have to inconvenience yourself, set it up before hand and basically be useless to your team while its set up. Also if i blink right on top of you or take a nice shot with Gunslinger or Huntress, SBing for distance wont help you much, or at all.
Also wow it didnt take much for people to cry about SB, survivors were right about that lol
I would argue if you tried to blink right on top of me while I had sprint burst 99 you would get torched by the distance or the speed of being able to fake one way then the other for even more distance, you must be playing against some really bad survivors if they can't even use a 99 sprint burst to force a situation exactly like old dead hard, or to even force a nurse to waste a blink, the only way that's gonna work out in favor of the nurse is if the survivor is bad and never looks behind them and instead just runs without knowing which way the nurse is setting the blink.
-
@feruis said:
Ofc killers will get nerfed, do you even see the outrage on the forums? It's full of whining and crying because they can't bully anymore
It has nothing to do with bullying, while most of us here on the forums can adapt to these changes because we're invested in the game, a casual player can't and they were barely surviving even with all that help and those are the people leaving and up in arms over changes, my only argument against the new patch is gen slowdowns shouldn't be able to stack to create 3 minute gens, other than that we had some good changes that made it more skill based for survivors
-
Sounds like a scam to me I wouldn't do it, however I'm pretty sure if you buy the nightmare edition of the game it comes with the characters, it would be good if you don't have alot of characters but if you have almost everyone except stranger things I don't think it would be worth it but that's just my opinion

They promise ######### all the time and never follow through are we really surprised? Lol

Well, you are right. I never experienced it myself, but I have seen various napkin math about it and if 3min gens are a thing, than be need some more build rules, like "only use a maximum of 2 gen regression perks" or even better, device a points system and only allow a certain allotment to any build, thus hard countering too OP builds.
BHVR is often moving at a glacial pace, always waiting for "the date to come in", instead of acting on guts feeling and maybe later readjust when the date is finally there, but it is what it is.
It's frustrating because they took all this time and still don't have a clue about the community, they missed a real opportunity to shake the entire game up along with the meta by adding a secondary objective to coincide with the gens to get out, they took the easy way out and put us in a situation where it's gen rush or be in a 20+ minute match and forced a stale meta on the game, I'm honestly not having any trouble surviving or killing , but I'm not entertained ya know? It's one of those things where you're in a uneventful match and even if you survive you're questioning if you want to ready up again or if you'd rather play something else and actually have a engaging game that's fun win or lose.

So what about 10% slower gens and a lack of being able to artificially extend chases is so different that it's made the game "not fun"?
The slightest inconvenience and the game is no longer worth playing?
It's not just 10% slower though, you know good and damn well that slowdowns can be stacked to create 3 min gens, I shouldn't have to bring a gen build every game to keep gens moving, what happened to creating perk variety? if you don't understand why 3 minute gen times are unfun then I'm sorry but the forum doesn't provide crayons to draw out why doing nothing for three entire minutes in a game that's supposed to be engaging isn't fun. It has nothing to do with dead hard or DS my only complaint is they didn't give me something different to do with that time instead of sit there. Sure we can run gen builds every single game like I've been doing and I'll admit I haven't had much trouble surviving but that doesn't mean it's fun to play that way.

It's better to push through Thana gens with a buddy? Maybe I'm psyching myself out watching that red bar take ages to fill up haha
Yea it sure is actually, if you both are running perks that help with gen speed think about the percentages, well give a two survivor scenario here, you have deja vu, resilience, prove thyself and the other person just has resilience let's say to help with gens, prove thyself gives you both 15 so that's 30 percent out the gates extra 9 each for resilience makes it 48 and then for deja vu that's an extra 5 so that brings us to 53 % buff on gens and we aren't even taking into account if they have a toolbox or if either of you has built to last as a perk, with 2 Commodius toolbox and the fastest add ONS you'll be repairing a gen at 253% speed all together and a extra five per survivor that brought deja vu but I'm not taking that into consideration because nobody will run the same exact build .
-
@Rovend said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3081893#Comment_3081893
what's funny is that BHVR tries to make players dont overuse some perks but in the process they create the need of some other perk to be overused.
Maybe i am not forced with using Borrowed Time every single time anymore but now i am being forced to use Prove Thyself if i want to somehow reach endgame in slowdown meta.
The meta they're creating is a unhealthy one that's very cut and dry, you want to negate slowdowns? Run gen builds the give big buffs to repair speed, BUT!! If one side or the other isn't running a gen build or a slowdown build, then they suffer due to the way this meta is. When killers who aren't running slowdowns now get rushed into oblivion they feel forced to have slowdowns to compete and when survivors don't bring anything for gens and they take 3 minutes a piece it's pretty much a gg if they aren't staying up in chase long enough and being mindful of resources. Overall it's a vicious cycle that's creates very stale gameplay no matter what side you're on, I think there was a better way to change the meta without forcing such a boring playstyle.
-
@lauraa said:
it's really clutch, I'm using it a lot more now. But still I try not to coop gens if I can help it, even with the speed boost I feel like it'd be more efficient sometimes to just find a new generator.
It's more efficient to separate when the slowdowns aren't in play but if you have slowdowns stacked up it's better to repair in sets of 2 because the repair speed buff will actually save you time compared to trying to do a 3 minute generator by yourself, so I guess you would say early on it's better to start separate but then team up after your first gen pops and to negate the pressure that pops up from slowdowns, but that's just my opinion we all have different one.
-

First few games since the new update, 2-3 survivors in multiple games using it.
I've been running deja vu, prove thyself, resilience, and adrenaline , the only downside to the new genrush meta that's coming in is that killers who don't run slowdowns are gonna feel forced to when theyre having squads with gen builds at high level play, it helps a ton when the slowdowns are there but there were several instances last night the killer didn't have the slowdowns and they just got walked all over, I'm talking like 1or 2 hooks and all the gens done already

It only happens on that map because of how the placement of tiles are done... according to the game that is a valid placement because they are on two separate tile locations that read as far enough apart even though they obviously are not

I'll be sure to choose my team mates builds the next time I play.
You don't have to if you read it you would see I mentioned that even if they weren't running the build that was the percentages with other survivors when it's in full effect but also like I said I was running adrenaline not overzealous I just brought it up because pentimento was mentioned
-
@dictep said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3074504#Comment_3074504
Pentimento alone is 30%, and for 4 survs
Yea but I'm also running adrenaline to reward staying injured, if I ran overzealous instead and cleansed a hex or a plaything to set pentimento up, I would have up to a 45% repair buff on a gen with just me and another survivor and even if they ran no gen builds that would a 60% repair buff in total percentage with two survivors and a 75% repair buff with three in total because prove thyself gives each survivor 15%
-
Gens really aren't that bad, I've been running the new Deja vu, adrenaline, resilience, and prove thyself and they're flying by and if you get a squad running that type of build it's a real problem for the killer, 5 % speed on any gen you touch thats revealed to you, with 9 % resilience and add in 15 % prove thyself once you complete a gen and possibly meet someone else on the next one, you can repair up to 29% faster on a gen per survivor with the build.
-
"I think all survivor mains can agree this update is bad"
See that's my issue with this, people should be playing both sides equally and not just sticking to one role, I've played since this game come out and I have no issue with the update other than I feel the extra time and slowdowns added to gens should've been turned into a entirely different objective to keep things interesting, people want to get carried by perks and they can't do that now, you have to know how to interconnect tiles and run them correctly and take advantage while someone is running the killer and get gens done instead of healing a thousand times in a row or doing every totem in the map while the rest of the team is working, I would argue that survivor skill is better measured now because you aren't being carried by crutches.

Sure, I'll run we'll make it for saving people, and then who heals me? That's why I have to use inner strength.
This is just my opinion so it doesn't mean much but you have alot of posts so I assume you've played for a while, and I want to clarify inner strength is a good perk and I'm not hating on it I'm stating my opinion in general
People have gotten too comfortable healing in this game, and against skilled killers you need to make the most of your time, gens go fast if people commit to them and run builds to counteract the slowdown somewhat because there's not enough speed perks you can combine to totally stop it but still adrenaline, resilience is one hell of an underrated combo you're basically staying injured to have a free toolbox and if multiple people are running gen builds with adrenaline the gens will fly by faster than you think and you'll all fly out of there like cockroaches.
I've always said this and caught a bunch of ######### on here but good survivors don't need to heal because they're good enough in chase to stay on gens and still give the killer a decent run if they run up on them, survivors heal too much in today's DBD and there's a time and place for healing like after a gen pops and someone is right there other than stopping everything to reset everytime.
-
I honestly haven't really noticed a difference I played a few solos and then teamed up with some friends for the rest of the night and I didn't notice any issue at all, I guess there are some people based off of the posts here on the forums that are having a big problem with their crutches gone, I've been running resilience, adrenaline, prove thyself and a random 4th perk

There is a difference between push a button to jump 5 metres and running faster for a few seconds even without getting into the iframes.
Yes it does make distance but thats pretty useless when you can still blink on top of them or just rush at them at mach 3.
Think of DH distance gain like a nurse flick blinking and SB as pig rush. I am more than ok with that <3
That's just your opinion though, I could name a bunch of reasons why sprint burst is better but that's just my opinion as well, I use to get to a gen and if I get pushed off the gen before it recovers I can 99 it and use it to get way more distance than dead hard would ever provide and it's enough to not need an I frame, if I pop the gen I sprint right to the next one and waste less time getting there, I can use it multiple times without being injured, I can use it in the endgame to get a save in a rush if needed, I can 99 and when a nurse or blight does their attack I can use it at the right time and force max distance while they're stuck recovering a mile behind me etc... The reason people hated dead hard so much is because they everytime they felt like they had the hit they would get robbed and to me that was just down to the animation they added providing too much distance
-

I think the new players will have an advantage because they'll learn to play without the old crutches. People were way too reliant on iron will and dead hard.
Youre assuming new players want to stick it out and be invested in the game, you can't bank on that, if matchmaking was truly where it was supposed to be in a more perfect world what you're saying is right but like the poster above you mentioned, they have 4000 hours going against 100 hour players and in that scenario if it happens often enough new players aren't going to stick around, and if casuals are already DCng in troves why would you expect new players to want to spend all the money on characters just to have a decent perk selection whenever they feel like they suck immensely at the game right out the gate, I think some of the changes were needed but I think instead of increasing gens we should've gotten a whole new objective that went along side gens so it doesnt feel like you're spending a year of your life on a single generator stacked with slowdowns and that time is spend doing something else, so the killers get more time like some needed and the survivors get to have another objective to keep up with in exchange making it more interesting instead of dull and the same old #########

That's what you think and that's fine we disagree but I think sprint burst has always been better than dead hard you just have to know how to manage it during the match

It's really not, survivors can still win if they actually stick to gens, the problem is casual players make up a good number of the player base and they're gonna quit playing because they were already barely winning the games they managed to escape, the only thing that's about to change is survivor is gonna have a genrush adrenaline meta make a comeback and you'll be seeing people complaining about genrush and probably sprint burst or lithe for the exhaustion side of it, just give it a week and watch the threads start rolling in.

Having a blast with nurse. Rip dead hard. Also i imagine people at higher levels might still run it because its still good against blight and nurse still anyway and the overall decrease in its use basically means nobody baits it out so it should be easier to use.
It's really not that good even against them anymore because of the short duration and very little distance, Ive mained nurse for years during the most broken times this game has had and I'm honestly gonna hang her up and start maining Oni, Demo, or clown , with the current state of the game she's became very stale for me now it's really not even challenging anymore and I don't feel excited when I win with her anymore, but that's just me and I'd say about 4,000 of my 12,000 hours were spent playing nurse and probably 3,000 toward random other killers and maybe 5,000 for survivor if I were to break it down
